    kind of an odd question, but I want to change my differential fluid, along with my axles, axle bearings and seals, right now I have my car in a perfect spot in my garage, so how would I go about "heating" the fluid up before I drain it to make it easier to drain? I'm thinking maybe get the car up on 4 jackstands, start the car, put it in drive and just let it run for a few minutes or so? Thank you.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 5 дней назад

      I wouldn't worry about heating up the fluid. Your gonna have to reach in with your hand anyways to scoop it out. Putting it up on jack stands can and running it can be done but in my opinion it is still risky and I wouldn't do it. Drain it cold you will get most of it out.

  • @HypocriticYT
    @HypocriticYT 6 дней назад

    Do you get hesitation and jerking after you park your Camaro once hot and start it up again shortly after? Mine does this, is it the ethanol in the fuel or?? In cooler weather it doesn’t do it

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 6 дней назад

      No can't say I have ever had that problem. Not sure what would cause you're issues. Most likely a sensor intermittently failing but hard to say for sure because it could be many different things causing your issue. First step would be to check it for any trouble codes in the computer and go from there.

    • @HypocriticYT
      @HypocriticYT 6 дней назад

      @@LSxMotorsports2021 no codes. Have new plugs, only happens in hotter weather. If I let the engine cool it's fine. Could it be the gas with ethanol boiling in the fuel lines? I don't know what prevents the fuel pressure from dropping when turned off.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 6 дней назад

      That could be a possibility. There is a check valve to maintain pressure in the fuel lines but that goes bad over time but usually also causes longer starting times as well. If it only happens some times just keep running it till it gets worst or throws a code to point you in the right direction.

    The best way in my opinion to rock your i-rock. Some good mods there buddy. First off a third gen z28 305 TPI Z28 auto runs 15.4 bone stock 1/4 mile and is a small v8 so keep that in mind and a hi out put 305 can breath so don't believe that intake runners and porting are going to get you huge gains, that's more for the 350's as they need more air for there displacement, and with thees mods you can run faster then a stock 350. To make it run like a 350 that we can with the original 305 engine and transmission. If it were me from my expr. over the years with corvettes and z28 305 TPI Camaro's and LT1's. The easiest and most sensible mods for a stock look and a bit on the cheap or if your so inclined are to open that exhaust for sure. Install air foil and high flow air cleaner for 10hp mostly top end, the air box may add at this point (5hp so I don't mess with it), an aftermarket air grab is a good idea for power but if your installing stuff in front of the rad not a good idea as thees cars over heat easy due to the shape of the front end, install 1.6 roller rockers good for 16hp on top end important. If your ok with getting rid of the emissions and have historic plates you can delete the Cat for 18hp, change the muffler to an unrestricted one like flow master 12hp with 3inch pipes cat back add another 8hp, change the torque converter gust under 3k stall or 1900-2800 is a good 3 tenths 1/4 mile with a slingshot effect, add a shift kit if your in an auto for the extra long life and a 1 tenth, change the rear end to 373 lock up if your doing the 1/4 mile and don't care about gas mileage dose drop off about 3 tenths and not good advice to stay with the higher gearing as the gears will set you free in the 1/4 mile (gears always make it easier for the engine to get more out or it in the 1/4 mile. Put on some NIto 555r's for tires or what you like for a soft compound tire to add a grip factor at this point or there is no point will add 2 tenths as well as grip the existing rear end change and shift mods.So lets add our numbers first on so for the power adders we are looking at 64hp gains and that translates on thees cars something close to 10hp for a tenth = easy 6 tenths making standing 1/4 mile time 14.7. Now with the drive train mods you can add 8 tenths all together making your ride run a consistent 14.0 1/4 mile if you want more then NOS is the easiest 100hp for the blue moon run against a WRX or modded cars put you at 13.0 1/4. I wouldn't do all this porting and stuff for the engine/ tuning and at that point you may want to just consider the engine swap for some serious power not the cam or the to get you in the low 12's. Also don't bother to get a manual installed your just begging for clutch problems on a TPI and not worth the inconsistency of a stick shift on 2 tenths faster or 3 tenths. They run faster on point with auto in most cases. so after all that your thinking why not just yank the engine in the first place will be easier and may even comparable to all the mods done in price, well you want a stock Z28 so it seems and numbers match, if you want speed all those mods with also transfer to the upgraded engine and you will scream fast and cool but for most of us we are not trying to sell these cars were trying to drive them again. (A stock 350 TPI ran 14.4-14.6 back factory stock, so with thees mods you did it beet a 350 TPI). And there you have it better then a stock 350 TPI or ready for some serious power. The best way in my opinion to rock your i-rock.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 16 дней назад

      Well it is essentially a small block so any mechanic should be able to diagnose your problem. If you already replaced the oil sending unit several times then there is a good chance that you have low oil pressure because the bearings are wore out. But if it is still running and not knocking then you could try running thicker oil. As far as the top speed goes your pushing against alot of air and once you hit those speeds they don't accerate very fast and with these cars being old your probably a little down on power. When new these cars would top out at around 150 and that was the manual cars the automatics were a little slower.

      Yes the guy with the Black 94 Z28 on the channel got the torqhead kit recently. They said there was a 3-4 week wait on the kit because they were behind on filling the orders and exactly 3 weeks after ordering it was sent out. They sent it by fedex which here in Canada atleast is the best delivery company so he received it just a few days later. It is high quality parts and everything was packaged nice and everything was there and it also has good instructions even though we rarely read the instructions. Now the company that makes this kit is based here in Canada so the delivery was very fast. If you live in the US you may have to wait longer because of customs. I was very impressed with the kit except for the tune that comes with the new computer. It works fine but it is far from being optimized for power so if you can't tune it yourself budget money for a custom tune. But it can be tuned with HP tuners which means you will have many tuners to chose from.

      Well it all started with lifter tick, They replaced them under warranty and a week or so later a rod came through the side of the block and caught the truck on fire. They replaced the engine and a few other things that were damaged by the fire. And then replacement engine blew up and he just traded it for a new silverado. The only good thing is that warranty covered everything.

    Does this exhaust system have mufflers at the end or are those like resonators?

    • @LSxMotorsports2021

      They are like a bullet style muffler. They don't muffle the sound much. This is a great exhaust system price wise but it drones really badly. I eventually plan to get some valved mufflers for it because it gets annoying to drive on longer trips. I like a loud exhaust when I get on it but this is loud all the time.

    This is late but was hopping to find out if you've had any issues with the AFM valvtrain? Also on the timing your saying with an aftermarket Tuner when you lower the timing 2*per 50hp from what i understand this will stop the factory software from dumping so much timing? not trying to be smart just wanting to make sure i do this right. Nitrous Outlet told me i would be fine 100shot on the stock ss motor with a cooler plug witch i believe. what controller would work best with Nitrous? thank you

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 Месяц назад

      Fortunately he has not had any trouble with the AFM so far. He pretty much always shifts it manually anyways so it never activates the AFM and I have since removed that in the tune using HP tuners. Of course even then you can still have problems with the AFM but not so far on this car. As for the nitrous he tried using it that one time and he never was interested in trying it again so we learned nothing about what works and what doesn't so I am pretty much clueless on that topic. But definitely if you get it set up properly you can safely run a 100 shot. I don't have much experience with setting it up or I would definitely help you out.

    What adapter do you recommend for the throttle body? Haven’t trouble figuring out which one would fit good for a 92mm on to a ls6 intake manifold

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 Месяц назад

      Well if you haven't already bought a larger throttle body I would recommend you hold off because it has been proven that there is very little to no power gains if your throttle body is larger than the opening on your intake manifold. But if you already have one then you can usually find adapters on eBay or Amazon that will work.

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021 Месяц назад

      Well usually these cars have great throttle response so if your car is lagging or has hesitation then could be a bad sensor somewhere on the car. These issues can be pretty hard to diagnose especially if there are no trouble codes in the ECM to point you in the right direction. You didn't mention weather you have a manual or automatic but if you have an automatic with 2:73 gears they can be a little sluggish because of the gears.

      Well I know the 93 cars didn't have a Mass air flow sensor and the computer still uses the old eprom chip. I suspect you would probably need a wire harness from a 94-97 car but really don't know for sure unfortunately. Best advice would be to send torqhead an email and they should be able to tell you everything you need to do.
