Looks completely different on mine. Works differently too. 🤷♂️
This one is over 5 years old now so they may have changed them.
5.43 secs to 60mph is very respectable given my 500hp Z28 Camaro does that in about 4.4 secs !!!
Yeah it works good for the size of it.
Sounds awesome!
Nice car did u like the 3200 fti stall u got a couple videos b4 this 1
Well unfortunately I never got around to putting it in yet. But definitely going to get it installed this spring.
Why not just 243 or 799 and port em out?
You can also do that if you can do it yourself or have a reputable head porter in your area. And in the video I mentioned you can send your factory heads to Texas speed and they will CNC port your heads.
Where do you shop for most of your parts on the f body’s?
Summit racing if they have what I need because if you spend $400 or so Canadian you get free shipping. But I have also bought from hawks motorsports and speed engineering which has pretty high shipping cost and being in Canada you have to buy from their eBay store because they won't ship to Canada on their main websites. I have also bought the odd part from Amazon because of free shipping.
Flow numbers can be misleading, what bore size they flowed them on matters
I agree. Most will use a 4" bore or larger which is why if trick flow are being honest and actually flowed their heads on a 3.9" bore then their heads flow very good.
Ls Chevy engines or all LS engines can take this
These heads will all physically bolt on all LS engines but the problem is the 4.8,5.3 and even the 5.7 have less than a 4 inch bore so you have to be sure before buying that the valves will clear the bore. The LS2 and the 6.0L truck engines have a 4 inch bore so all these heads will work. So basically spending this kind of money means you want to check with the manufacturer before ordering because there are heads available for the smaller bore engines that still flow good they just use smaller valves and of course you want to get the right chamber size also so you have the compression where you want it. I didn't mention the LS3 because it uses rectangular port heads which already flow as good or better than most of the cathedral port heads in this video.
Hey Corey, what tune are you running? might need to be adjusted as these are decent times but depending on tune it should be high 11's with all you have done already - but it is a vert so its a bit heavier than a coupe.
It is tuned by me. And it is dialled in pretty good a pro tuner may get a little more but not much. But it runs a 2.0 60 ft time because of the stock converter which I have a torque converter for it but it is a cheaper one so probably will go low 12s after I get it installed. As is it now it would need a 1.7 60ft time to go a high 11.
Sick wheels ! What brand are they ?
Those are the stock SS wheels.
Love my 2018…more power than Toyota …way more power and completely capable for way less
Yeah I still have mine and it's been pretty reliable so far.
Hey great video I’m new the whole car scene my dad passed away during Covid and the first I ever learnt to drive was a 2002 Camaro so I’m buying one to build up to give my little brother when he graduates but quick question can any of the top 5 engines fit in a 2002 z28
Well yes they all can fit in a 4th gen Camaro. It can get a little expensive but definitely can be done. Most of those engines can be bought new from GM performance parts and can be bought with an ECM to control them. Good luck on your build and thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 I been doing some research on the car and your channel came up had to subscribe bro great info
Thanks I really appreciate it.
Great video. Just got a mint low mileage 91 Firebird convertible that I’d like to keep stock ish. Exactly what I was looking for. Boltons only that can be undone.
Cool car. Yeah they are worth alot more when they are stock.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 Exactly.. Plus, the 305 is pretty limited, even if you go crazy.. Not worth it imo.. If you want big power, LS swap... Plus, I got a mopar I'm building for that on my channel anyways.. Keep the firebird for cruising and looking good!
Yeah I went and took a look. Love all those Mopars from the mid 60s to the early 70s.
Nice video 👍🏿 I do have a question for you though which one do you think performed better the ssra intake or the volant? I was curious because I have a 98 Pontiac firebird trans Am ls1 that I was thinking about getting a cold/ram air intake. Also mine doesn't have the ram air hood, planing on getting one eventually.
Well I actually used the SSRA with the Volant also. I sealed the Volant air box to the hood then cut a hole in the bottom of the Volant so the SSRA was pushing the air into the sealed Volant air box. But in your case I would just get a air lid to go with the SSRA. I eventually went with the SLP lid and SSRA but I didn't see any gain or loss in 1/4 mile times.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 nice, thank you for your time and responding I do genuinely appreciate it. Have a great one 👍🏿
Technically it should have no problem running the slightly newer, gen 3 P59 PCMs, right? Just a few wires to re-pin from what I can tell. The P59s have 1MB of storage vs 512K on the 0411, so you can run more advanvced custom OSes.
Well if your talking this Torqhead kit then yes it runs fine now with a little tuning.
LTJUAN
Nice Bet Cards!!!
that’s me
Work hard on your camero, be proud & love your end workmanship x
Nice what best gears do you recommend on Ls1 auto?
Most people choose 3:73 gears for an automatic car and 4:10 for the manual cars.
That’s sick
That car sounds so good! I think you can get in the 10s 😁
Yeah I don't think I want to put that much money into it. But a high 11 would be good enough for me.
What torque converter is in the car? I promise you a 3600 stall, will change that car entirely and knock an easy .5 off your quarter.
Yes I agree and I have a torque converter going in this spring. It is a cheaper 3200 converter but it is probably about as much as I can run and still get traction on a unprepped surface.
@LSxMotorsports2021 i had a btr stage 3 n/a cam with a Yank 4000 stall. With nitto nt05s (tires) and she hooked well.
Well hopefully mine will hook up. A BTR stage 3 and 4000 stall must have run some good 1/4 mile times.
What would you recomend as a first mod on a stock 4th gen ?
Well most people start with a new exhaust. You don't gain much power but you gain a little and get better sound. These cars are too quiet from the factory. But if it's only 1/4 mile performance you care about then a set of drag radials is where to start.
Id start, if it's auto. With a stall converter. Almost no mod wakes there cars up more.
What is the end goal for quarter mile times?
Once it can run 11.99 consistently then I am done.
С новым годом! Из России 👋🎉
Happy new year to you.
💯
Always wondered why it comes with those tires.
I recall this body style was very prone to rust and in only a few years the metal behind the rear wheels was gone 😮and other spots. Salt just ate them up.
Yeah alot of these old muscle cars were destroyed by rust.
@@LSxMotorsports2021 much less sold in Canada and we got Beaumonts. You need to find Texas, Arizona or California cars that have not had rust.
Hoping you get new tires for Christmas 😅
Yeah he needs tires and some suspension upgrades.
And I too will be getting some tires.
He lost me at underdrive pulleys. They're a total and complete waste of time and money.
Well technicaly modifing a perfectly working car is a waste of money. As far as underdrive pulleys go I gained a little over a tenth of a second and 1 mph in the 1/4 mile with my 2002 Camaro. You won't get any big gains but for the amount of money and work involved it is a pretty good modification.
Such a great looking engine. Shame the performance didn't match.
Yeah they didn't perform that great but you have to take into consideration the time in which they were built. Car manufactures were just starting to build better performance engines and the TPI engines lead to the 2nd Gen LT1 which lead to the LS1 and so on.

Cant wait for mine to be done 😢
What are you building?
Got an 01 SS New 383 setup with custom cam and heads Built racing trans and a moser 12 bolt with 3.73s Plus a 200 shot Been waiting too long dammit

@@LSxMotorsports2021 that's the plan 😁 Hoping for around 500 on the motor WeaponX
