i had acrylic nails done for my prom in high school, i also worked on cars... they lasted about 2 weeks of me being super careful. i don think the stress from sports will be as bad as what i did with them. Maybe keeping them short until the season is over?

Yep! Put on acrylic and don't take it off! You won't be able to bite through it but you might still try, so keep the acrylic until you stop trying to bite your nails at all (you know how mindless the whole process is, most of the times you don't realize that you're biting) and then take it off and enjoy your beautiful nails. :D I had a severe case of nail biting and now that I've gotten rid of it, it's been three years and I didn't go back to it at all.

Brooke Katz it isn't tht bad...I'm assuming ur talking about doing this at home urself. There's different formulas tht require different ways of removing them. Doing it urself should only take up 10 mins of ur time for removal. Thts how long I take. There's a ton of videos on this, look it up. But ur really missing out, it helps keep nails strong so they get a chance to grow. Of course u need to keep ur cuticles healthy too. What beauty routine isnt time consuming? Lol

Every couple years when I’m down and depressed this shows up in my recommended and I always watch it in its entirety. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Love the interaction between Suzie and Grant, such a genuine and caring vibe. Also Grant is such a beautiful man, and seeing him proud and unashamed with nails on made me decide to rock acrylics for the first time many years ago. P.S. Hope everyone is doing well in quarantine during this COVID-19 pandemic. If you’re an essential worker or a health provider, thank you for everything you’re doing. Also if you’re a part of the LGBTQ+ community and you feel alone or like no one is in your corner, please know that the worst will pass. You’ll find people that love you no matter what. At tip to get the perfect matte look, Suzie is to use a quick dry top coat first and then add the matte top coat. It smooths everything out and makes the nails really look matte. It's a trick I use and it works great for me. Hope it works just as well for you if you decide to give it a try. LOVE your vids. :)
I love matte grey on a lot of things. I think it looks so soft yet bold.

I am kinda really really jealous of grant! I had several nail technicians and none of them had the skill to make my nails last! I have a greasy nailplate and a very hard job for nails. They would always get air stuck under. So if you EVER come to Holland!! There is help needed here.. 😂

I wish the nail technicians in the U.S did nails well. They purposely take off acrylic by prying it off to make your nails weak to keep getting business. They never understand what I want and they always do what they think will look good even though I show pictures and tell them exactly what I want. a lot of nail salons here are dominated by Asians so there is a lot of miscommunication because they don't even speak English, it's frustrating cuz how are they supposed to satisfy the customer. It's so bad here I honestly wish I could go to Canada to get my nails done. It's pathetic here.
one time I went to get a pedicure with a scrub. The scrub was giving me a rash and I told her it hurt and she literally smiled and said " it's ok " omg it pissed me off! they don't understand. And they are programmed, they don't go by how the customer feels. It's like " if I'm supposed to massage you for 3 minutes I will massage you for 3 minutes, I don't care if you get a rash" that's insane to me.
I'm allergic to latex-- and the salons in my area are also all asian dominated and even though I tell them I'm allergic, they wear latex gloves to give me a pedicure. Luckily, it just makes my skin itch when it's in solid form--like a glove--but it's why I've stopped going to salons. Where I grew up in Colorado, there was still nail techs like Suzie who used the forms, not just the tips, and also cared about customer satisfaction! Out here in New York, I've yet to find one nail tech that isn't in the asian salons and so..now...I do my own nails! Though if I could afford to go get my nails done by Suzie in Canada, I'd do it in a second!
Virtually all the nail salons in Vancouver are run by Vietnamese.
I've never been a fan of long nails on myself but this has me wanting them. Grant has such gorgeous hands too!

I don't have any interest in doing my own nails or becoming a nail technician, but your videos are everythiiiiiing ❤ Binging now- the technical education and the artistry you put into your work, combined with your fun personality is so enjoyable to watch! It's helping me so much as far as inspiration to know what I would like when I next go to the salon, because I'm one if those hopeless people that goes in knowing I really want my nails done but am a bit lost after that!
