@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts the professional ones are 100% oil no water. As for the glitter don't use fine particles as it will stay suppended in the liquid bigger glitter falls like snow.

Hi Steve,,, I was in hysterics finding out that you left the stopper on the bottle,, no wonder it didn't come out,,,!!! ,lol the snow glow is beautiful, but I think a finer glitter with a little chunky glitter would look awesome, or even a glow in the dark one,, with a uv L E D light or even with out it would be different and cool. Just remember to remove the stoppers !!! It happens to the best of us,, take care stay safe have a great week. And keep on smiling and laughing. 🤣💐
Fyi, if you roll the dome mold down like a condom, it comes off much easier. 😉 What a cool idea Steve! I'll have to try it out! Thanks as always for being awesome. ☺️
I love watching your experiments! I think I would have left the ball and a pin or two loose. Once I saw a cute snow globe with a melted snowman ... it was just a hat, carrot, eyes and buttons floating around, lol.
absolutely love this, all your family members could have one personalised to them. I would want one with little primrose flowers falling onto a meadow.
Nice! Love the gold glitter! On other projects, the glycerin needs to be mixed with the water manually. It won't do it on it's own unless you shake the bejesus out of it for a long time.
I ordered one of these… I’m gonna try to make one with different colored bobbles there on the base… can’t wait to get this mold… been looking for something like this… glad I found your channel… been binge watching your channel, most of the day! New subscriber!!!!!
Cute little project! I only recently joined your channel, but love your happy go lucky attitude towards things. Love your vape too. I have the exact same one, hehe ;)
I've got to hand it to you!!! You are so imaginative when it comes to putting things together... Love the bowling one. If you start with the water in a container and slowly add glisten and glitter till you get the float/fall that you want you can still use the larger glitters.
You mad man it's great how much easier it is when you've taken the seal off you are hilarious I love watching your videos you always manage to make me lol keep up the good work

In the snow globes I have made in the past (not with resin) I used a mixture of baby oil and water… and a lot less glitter… a little, little goes a long way in this things… I ca t wait for theis exact dome mold I ordered comes in later today!

I recently got this mold, but haven't used it yet. Hoping to see your results soon with your new pressure pot. It's getting almost warm enough for me to try mine out too! Always a pleasure to see new videos from you!
Hi :) I recently started to work with resin, and I so much enjoy looking your videos, they are funny and informative. You saved me so much trouble. I avoided many starter mistakes, thanks to you :) Keep it up and stay safe and happy.
your a mind reader i plan on doing the same thing for Christmas gifts lol you need to leave some air in, i have noticed a lot dont do that but if you look at the ones you buy they have a pocket of air, i have also seen a lot using baby oil
Thank goodness, you found that seal cap....I thought I was the only one that left them in, so very sorry, but I did have a chuckle... Love you and your channel. Keep on keeping on...oh yes.."balls down".... Maybe if you had not glued the ball down (inside) it would have acted as a type of stirrer. Just a thought
Use a combination of clear glue and water. This combination makes items float very well. PLay around with the amounts but I use about 2/3 water 1/3 clear glue. Try Clear Elmers if available in your area.
Those came out really nice! Glycerine is one of things I use in making my reusable mold making material. Gelatin is another. You can find videos on how to make it pretty easily. When you are done with casting things in your mold (or as is often my problem - I mess the mold up) then you can just heat it up to melt it again for making a new mold. :D - Heidi
Oh, I forgot to mention how AMAZING this project is! I absolutely love love LOVE snowglobes!!! My favorite one stays up all year on my bedroom dresser. Lol, he's out of place and doesn't match, but he's amazing, and I do not care!
You can use the glycerin but stir it well in the water and use much finer glitter. Should work well. I've made lots of these at Christmas. Laugh right out loud when you took that stopper out...I've done that, too, so I can relate. lol
I just love this project! I'm eager to make some. Your videos really are so great, I had the best laugh with you after you discovered the plug. How many of your mates are calling you "Samson" now? 😉
I've read something about using mineral oil. As to what extent I am not sure. I would place your liquid in a glass jar and test it out for consistency and how the glitter floats/sinks before adding it into the globe.
the glycerin also helps to prevent your water from molding over time. Next time, just mix the water and glycerin before you add your glitter and you won't have that issue. Another thing you can do is clear glue and water. Again mixing the two of them together before adding anything and sealing up the snow globe. You don't need much of the clear glue either. I actually use clear glue and water in my shaker molds and what I do is pre-mix some warm water and clear glue and then keep that in a squirt bottle. I have found that using warm water helps when mixing in clear glue but you can use room temp water too.
I've tried to make pendant size liquid/glitter filled hearts. It's tougher than it looks. Can't wait to see what liquid you use. Oh, BTW, I have seen others use an air compressor to blow air down the insides of the mold while demolding.
I bought the mould the other week, hadn’t actually seen your video and had the idea of doing a snow globe too. Quick google search brought me to you. Your video really made me smile as it’s kind of how I’ve just been but only trying to fill the mould. 😂 Can I ask, does your mould have little slits in the top of the dome mould? Mine has indentations where it looks like you squirted in the extra, but no holes. I had a big air bubble and peeled the the mould back to let it out, lost grip and splatted resin everywhere. Haha. Whoops! I’m wondering if I’m supposed to make a slit in the mould where the little grooves are? I can’t see any Other easy way to get the stupid air bubbles out if you get them.
Cute! I'm not sure why anyone is still using open flame with silicone molds though. I have a travel spritz bottle with rubbing alcohol and it doesn't lead to ruined molds. Let it sit for a bit and then spray the bubbles.
You need to mix the glycerine in the water for 2mins then leave it for 5mins before you add the glitter and the finer the glitter the better. Took me a long time to get that right but it works very well 👍🏾
Such a fun idea!! Ideal, unique gifts. You might want to research mineral oil in lieu of water and glycerin. Baby oil is another option but the viscosity of mineral oil creates a more pleasing flow, at least in my opinion.
so glad you shared that. when he mentioned 'water' I kept thinking 'glycerine' ... then he added the glycerine. AH! Mineral oil, yes! I'd like one that behaves more like a lava lamp viscosity. P.S. I'm 5th gen from Ga, if that's what your 'GA" means. :)
Steve I bought this mold and it came through with slits but they're not open they are not cut through so I was wondering if I should do that as I'm watching you put your pipette in those slits how else would I know how much to use inside I don't want to overflow it and my slits came through closed so I guess I'm asking you should I slice them open with my Sharp knife
For shakers I mix the water and glycerine (depending on the viscosity, for thicker I make a 50/50 mix) first then add the glitter. I wish resin was not so expensive and not easy to get here in South Africa. I would like get the mold but either it does not ship to South Africa or delivery costs are 3-4 time what you pay for the mold then on top of that you have to pay import tax.
Could it be that you have too much water? All my globes have an air pocket. But yes I think you need to cut back on the glitter in this one....Sorry!! ☺Love you and your channels. Byyeee
You should have mixed the glycerine and water together before adding the glitter it helps the glitter blend with the water better instead of sitting at the top x
You are so much fun and crack me up routinely❤️. So appreciate you sharing all of your beautiful crafts and experiments 😊
