Matthiessen State Park, Illinois | 4K drone and time lapse footage

- Canyons, streams, prairie and forest amaze visitors at Matthiessen State Park. Located in central LaSalle County, approximately 4 miles south of Utica and 3 miles east of Oglesby, Matthiessen is a paradise for those interested in geology, as well as recreation. Visitors can expect to see beautiful rock formations, amazing waterfalls and great short hikes inside and outside the canyon. All of this in about an 1 hour drive from Chicago.
4K drone footage done with DJI Mavic 2 Pro. Ground footage done with GoPro Hero4. Time Lapses are done with Canon 5D MKIII.
Edited in Lightroom 5 and Premiere Pro.

You went through all that effort in the winter when the leaves aren't in bloom??
Yes. Freeze happens only in the winter and I was late. Waited for better weather. That is one thing. Another, .... all this effort would not be possible when the leaves are in bloom. Traffic in this park increases significantly in spring, summer, and fall months. Would have to close the park for that project, which is impossible. I tried.
Heading out there tomorrow. Haha says drones aren’t allowed in the park but I can see it’s possible 🤣🤷🏻♂️

…drones aren’t permitted in Matthiessen, so… kinda 👎 to ignore rules that exist for the safety of the habitat and wildlife.

Lol funny wish u new the real cool history and adventures in starve rock and matthuessen park. I'm from ottawa get ahold of me if you want to no history and old run down towns. Stories on a guy how is hammered babies on trees people who died drunk on the turns driving drinking and driving with friends high school. Look my page up I have a haunted house where Abraham Lincoln stayed like I said I work in starve rock alot of cool stuff here
