- Starved Rock State Park in Illinois has some of the best natural beauty and hiking in the whole state. Places such as French Canyon, Wildcat Canyon, and LaSalle Canyon will make you feel like you have left the Midwest. The Starved Rock provides excellent views of the Illinois River, and there are plenty of canyons to explore. Located only an hour and a half from Chicago, it is one of the perfect places to escape from the city and get lost in the wilderness!

I once brought my dog to starved rock
She was the happiest she had ever been
She passed away in early 2022 but at least she was able to see this beautiful place in her time on this earth

Hello there, I loved this video and I have a question for you. My family and I will be down there the 1st week of July and I was wondering if those waterfalls have any, some, or lots of water around that time of the year?
Glad that you loved the video! It's difficult for me to say because we visited in late May/early June, but it largely depends on the amount of rainfall and how hot and sunny the days have been. I'm sure it will be beautiful regardless!

I’ve been wanting to take my family to Hocking Hills State Park but this state park is a bit closer to us. Have you been to Hocking Hills? If so, would you recommend one over the other?
I’ve never been to hocking hills, but the scenery to me is very similar from pictures I’ve seen! I think hocking hills is bigger and has some longer hikes, so I would recommend hocking hills between the two! However, I still think Starved Rock is a great option for something closer

Oh man, maybe 2 or 3 hours but we also chilled out at a lot of the spots along the way
