Learning to Travel is a travel video & social media company formed by Joyce & Daryle Dickens to help others identify and realize their dreams of “traveling more.” After years of “traveling more” talk with too little action, we finally went on a life-changing 14-month journey to 23 countries and 23 US states. Since then, we’ve heard far too many people say, “I wish I could do that,” which has made us realize that most people need a little push to believe their travel dreams are possible and a little guidance to turn them into reality. That inspiration and guidance are what LearningToTravel.com is all about.

Nice video. Well done. Wife and I have already been to nearby Matthiessen and the majestic waterfall there. Hope you’ve had chance to enjoy it’s beautiful. Figure it’s a dry time of year so waterfall there probably not running so going to Starved Rock instead. Only thing is all the stairs lol. Her knee is a little troublesome recently. Hopefully can see the river overlooks and the canyon bed trails anyway look great. Thanks again for the preview.

Thank you so much for your kind words! It's fantastic to hear that you and your wife enjoyed Matthiessen and its majestic waterfall. You're right about the seasonal changes affecting the water flow; it's one of the unique aspects of these natural spaces. Starved Rock is definitely a great choice, especially with its stunning river overlooks and canyon bed trails. I understand the concern about the stairs, especially with your wife's knee trouble. Thanks again for watching, safe travels and happy exploring!

Park at the lodge and stay on the bluff trails or park in the main riverside parking lots and stay on the river trails and the stairs aren’t too bad. You’ll encounter the big stairs going from the river to bluff trails.

Definitely not the landscape I think of in Illinois. Added to my Google Pins. Thanks for sharing!

Right? Illinois is Chicago and cornfields, basically. But there are some great places to be found. The very southern part of IL is much like Starved Rock. Giant City State Park would also be worth a Google Pin. Thanks for watching!

It's not the most exciting place I've ever been but far from boring.
