If you are looking to purchase the Flightscope Mevo+ or other hardware and software, I can help. Just shoot me an email and I will make sure you are getting the best price and information. *a98cr125@**gmail.com* If you need the Flightscope Recommended setup I have the image on my website here: golfsimulatorvideos.com/flightscope-mevo-plus/
I've had my WellPutt mat for a couple years now, it's really great... rolls up nicely and small enough to store for winter practice.. highly recommended. I also have mine in my sim with the Mevo+ and the nice long putting lines can help with ensuring your Mevo+ is properly aligned as well :)
This is excellent Jay. The downhill putts worked really well with this. Do you think this would make a difference in terms of length of putts registered, since it is such a smooth surface? Thanks again
This was an interesting and useful demo Jay. Thx. It begs the question for me though - does this mean you must always aim 'in app' with the Mevo+ and cannot simply aim left or right in your environment?
That is correct. You aim in the software and out straight at target like you would outside really. You are always pointed at your start line. Then just speed from there.
Unfortunately, like many companies the COVID shutdowns caused massive delays. I know they are working hard on ramping back up production and getting that number down as fast as they can. Thanks for watching!
Great video here. One question I do have as I will be building my golf simulator once everything arrives. I will have a hitting mat of 4x5, 2 inches thick that I will be hitting off of. I wont have a platform that meets up to this hitting mat so currently I was going to purchase something like you used here and hit off the side just like you did, only difference there will be that drop off from 2 inches to 1/4 if I went with this mat. Will I need to build something to get it level with my hitting mat since that is what the Mevo will be raised to? Or will the Mevo be able to track my putt? Thanks for the great video’s you provide they are very helpful.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks for the reply. I can make it work I just have to build a platform to meet up to it. I’m guessing that is my answer here, keep both surfaces at the same level. I wasn’t sure if the Mevo can read if its inch 1/2 lower
@@craigb805 I'm waiting on Mevo + also about the same time. I saw another youtuber do a DYI Mat/Stance video. He built up a surface for stance and putting that is a sandwich on luan, foam, luan and carpet, with a cut out (12x24) for what ever turf for hitting. It would be fairly in expensive to continue that from ball to Mevo so that everything is level. You could cut your mat into 8 hitting mats. It looks fairly simple to create a soft strike type system under the mat as well. I was looking at 1" puzzle gym mats also to level the surrounding area also. I think the key for putting though is a smooth carpet and not a turf using Mevo. Good luck with your set up.
I am lefty, does that mean I have to putt 9 inches above center line on the left? I think the Mevo+ works great except for a couple of things when I use e6 connect. 1) launch angle when I am chipping seems to be higher than actual, 2) my normal setup for now is hitting into a net / bedsheet and I have a TV connected to an iPAD. I experimented with a projector on the floor to the left of the MEVO+ and the Mevo read a PUTT and I didn't even swing yet! I was walking by the projector and it triggers putts on the MEVO. What am I doing wrong?
It really depends on your environment and what works best for you. I actually hit and putt from the center and it works great for me. The main reason for their recommended set up is to ensure a smooth surface for putting.
I would like to place this putting mat next to my 5x5 hitting mat in the allowed 9 inches. Yours looks like you made your putting mat level with your hitting mat. Would it work to have the back of the 13 foot mat sit closer to the mevo plus so I can stand behind my hitting mat? This would put the ball at about 5 feet from the mevo in lieu of the 8 feet and put me back on level ground. Thanks!
Fantastic! I have a Puttout mat on order but didn't know i could combine it with my Mevo+. Thanks for the content Jay! First, I have to build a platform to level my garage floor though! :)
Hi jay, Great video again. My mat will be sitting on top of my existing floor which has a height of 15mm, will this be an issue for the mevo+? Based on the setup image on your website from flightscope, it does say hitting ball position to be 6" away on the left. Does this mean I have to hit on both driver and iron from the same spot? Or can i move the hitting spot for my driver closer to the center line (about 2" left of center line) so I dont have to remove the tee every time i do hit with an iron? Thanks. Thinking to add a putting mat on the right side as well.
Freddy Lim I think a small thickness is expected so should be fine. I hit drivers just off my center and have no issues. Sounds like you will be all good. As always recommend people experiment to see what works best in their environment. Thanks for watching
Jay interesting video. I was wondering about this as I am designing my outdoor practice hitting area. I just went to the WellPutt website and the one I see in your video does not appear there. Which one is pictured in your video. I am thinking of getting the 10’ model but it looks different than yours. Also for my setup how high do you recommend the net. I was thinking 8’ but when I watch some of your videos on wedges especially short touch shots it looks like I would need more height. Please help!
Any ideas or suggestions how to be able to putt when using a hitting Mat that is not flat for that much length? Like a Fiberbuilt mat that is 4ft long, then another 4-5 feet between the mat and the screen there’s a drop.
That will be difficult and you will need to experiment. The unit is reading the roll of the ball for a certain distance so you will need to have a decent amount of flat roll so it does not affect your put just like in real life. If the unit picks up big bounces, drops, or shifts it will surely affect your putting. Best thing to start off doing is just test it with the best setup you can come up with.
but you said the mat is 13 feet long so there must be 4 feet between the mat and the mevo....is it thin enough that the mevo+ still picks it up ok? thanks again
Hi Jay, great video. Did you have to do any height adjustments with the Mevo + when using the putting mat as the mat sits on top of your existing turf set up? How high is the putting mat,? I currently putt from where I hit tee shots etc and have imho a pretty smooth hitting mat and generally happy with Mevo+ at putting, it has limitations as you describe because it is a radar but any more info would be gratefully received and I can decide if it is worth my while purchasing a putting mat , thanks Gary.
Hi Gary, My setup is all flat so the mat adds less than maybe a 1/8th of a inch if that so no adjustments. It is very thin. I like the roll of this more than my mat for sure. I think a lot is personal preference as you can adjust for the slow turf as I have demonstrated in the past. I appreciate you watching!
@@GolfSimulatorVideos So if the target line is the left edge of the putting mat, then how far left of that line is recommended for woods and irons and how far right for putting should be used (a right handed set up)
Yes it is completely level from mevo to the end other than the little ramp at the end which is past the reading zone. A safe flat rolling distance is 8ft. Thanks for watching!
Great video and lots of useful info. Thanks for the new Mevo+ content. The videos on the Uneekor are entertaining but I’ll never be able to justify the cost of this system. Now the Mevo+ will be another story. The reference to the Flightscope setup is very helpful. I seem to to think your setup is also hitting full shots from 7’ to Mevo+ to allow additional distance to the screen. Did you find this setup resulted in improved accuracy (longer flight tracking) or it just fit your existing simulator dimensions better?
Thanks, Larry! I appreciate you watching! The 7ft to tee and 10ft or so to screen is what fits in my room. It works really well for me so that is why I always tell people you can build the exact recommended layout or experiment what works best for you and your environment. I think the 10ft of flight for sure helps Mevo+ with high speed balls like driver, etc.
I've got a put out matt to go in my sim How far does Mevo plus read the putt? Do you think 5 ft puts would work on this set up? Would like to see a vid on the minimum length put the mevo plus can read on this set up 👍

Very beautiful video..
How much is the stimp green in the e6 simulation? And hard or moderate green??
Thx
Fabri Dona You can adjust the stimp to whatever rating you want. I sent it to 10 so it would match the Mat rolls at.
Fabri Dona thanks for watching.

If you can’t have a level surface for putting 8ft long then you would want to go with SkyTrak as it only reads a foot or 2.
