I have a couple of designs. I tried the sliding mat, with a foam bumper in the slot. But experienced the same tear out issues as you showed! Got some great ideas, wish my various mats for mine, were bigger. Thanks Spike
Is your hitting strip flush with your turf/carpet. Looks like it would sit 1/4" above if you are using the same hard foam as you have under the rest of your carpet
A lot of the turf sites charge a little more for a 5mm pad adhered to the bottom of the turf. Is that what you did? I’m guessing that’s the black layer on the bottom of yours but just wanted to double check with you. Thanks man
I love it! Thank you so much for posting this. I have hit most strip options on the market today & have found any well constructed divot action strip feels the best for sure. I personally want to hit a driver off a standard tee and don't like the look at address of the tee options that simply sit on the surface (tee's above 1/2" long only). I custom cut a hole into my divot action mat so I could install a short recessed rubber capturing tee where you can insert a real tee into and so far it works great. Curious if you have messed around with that complimentary part of the hitting strip yet?
I got about 6 hits out of mine before it cracked. It was only 1/2" high tho maybe thats why. Cuz the poly was .1 so i dont think it was too thin but idk
@@GolfBusters Thanks, yeah, I got a budget set up with 4x5 golf mat. I was think maybe just cutting a 1x2 slot in it. Then elevate everything 1". I already ordered the 1x2 polycarbonate, so I guess I'll give it a shot. I've got elbow issues, so hoping the divot setup helps ease the impact.

I had a little gap with a piece of foam in between and it has worked well so far!
Big tip, wash the exercise mats with dawn to remove mold release.
Roughing it up makes the lexel grab even better. Later Spike

I used liquid nails heavy duty adhesive tonight and put some power tools on top of it . Hopefully it holds.

It is very close to flush maybe a smidge higher and yes!
Could you please tell me wich turf do you use on top? Thanks
It’s in the video description above.
What type turf is that cause I've been looking to get some for the floor between hitting mats and screen. Everything I find is 3-10 square foot
Michigan snow golf sounds a little chilly. I'll stick to 40° or warmer. Lol

I did not! I have just the turf and then lay it over top of the inch foam interlocking tiles and carpet tape part of it down.
@@GolfBusters niiiiice…even cheaper. I like that

How did you cut the hole?

My guess is the 1/2 inch
Do you still use this, and does it still last? Not sure if this was your latest video
I have a different now! I have a video I released after this that shows how to use it
How thick should the surrounding turf be so I match the height of the strip?
Just wondering . Is it possible to build a hitting mat using the gym mat and place the turf over ? Thanks
I wouldn’t there would be no give at all and it wouldn’t be super realistic. However it could be done!
What turf did you use for dark blue/black "standing/ hitting matt"?
It’s in the video description above.
Great video, any idea if this can be used outdoors? Cheers 😀
The Mevo+ can the hitting strip would probably work
Will this work with a 1/2" thick piece of hitting mat instead of turf? Or will that be too thick?
I think it could work, I would get the 3/4 soft foam and as long as the hitting mat has some dig as well I think it could be a good combo

What was the totally cost to build?
Would you suggest 1" foam pads or would 1/2" be good enough?
Any chance you can show how. To make a mat with this insert
I have a full video that covers this! Search my channel you’ll find it!
What do you do for for a tee if you want to hit driver?
birtees!
@@GolfBusters thanks. Is drilling through the plastic an option for lock in tees? Or birtees the best way to go?
Do you remember what the exact model/make of turf you got? I clicked the link but it's just their main home page.
I believe it was AM25
You have to get a 10k, golf in the snow would be so funny
What model is your turf?
Off the top of my head ASM25 it’s like 99 cents a square foot
How do you tee up?
Birtees!
This would create a flier
There is no way you bought 400sqft of turf.
24 feet by 16 feet
