I looove how Andrew Bird can make playing guitar on a violin sound ethereal. I resonate with the daily tasks of “Sisyphus “. Let the rock roll=]. When you’ve lost your treasury, you realize that you truly have nothing to lose and everything to gain=]
. He isn't even TRYING. it's mad. I can whistle pretty well, but i have had to really learn to control my tongue more. His is no doubt wiggling in there in a wild fashion. I can do some of Andrew's diddies, though.. feels good
Andrew and his violin are wild animals whom can't be tamed, even the devil can't stop them... actually watching Andrew play, it's something else, him and his violin are one. Andrew Bird is like Dr.Dolittle but with musical instruments instead of animals, he can speak the language of the violin and we're so lucky to have their music and the translations he offers
i can’t wrap my head around his melodies, plenty of music can make my hair stand up but he takes me beyond that. the tension is so strong that when they break into the hook u just have to move.
Story goes the National whistling association wanted to make him representative because he is so good but he declined because he only does it to fill in melodies and does not take himself that seriously with it.
Had no idea about this song until 4 mos ago at a Starbucks. I was like, "Whoa! I gotta use my Shazam app!" Bam...I got busy and learned the song asap. A great tune! His melodies are amazing!
I found quite a few kexp version to sound sonicly better then the album versions. Kudos to kexp for that. But back to this song, i found this version even with the misplaced pick to be absolutely awesome
I hope I can see him perform live some day soon. The sad thing is that there’s the Pacific between him and me :) That whistle and the violin! How can I not love his music?
One of the most robust stories that history has to teach us modernists and futurists in the form of a timeless and classic moral fable. Sisyphus teaches us the power of passion and purpose over the mundane and trivial pursuits in each of our quotation lives=]
I was revisiting some Simon and Garfunkel and noticed this song has such an uncanny resemblance to "The Only Living Boy in New York" for me. (Not so much this live version).
Love how jazz drummers almost look like they are playing three different songs at the same time, and are just a tiny bit behind on all of them...wow... how do they keep track of the rhythm.
One of the greatest songwriters alive.
Iron and wine too
joanna newsom too
Here-Here. And i wouldn't truly consider myself a fan. But i know a master when i see one. His whistle is angelic.

Andrew Bird sold his soul to the devil for that whistling talent and the devil got a raw deal.
No he just beat him in a fiddle contest lol
@@derrincalk9579 Told the devil to sit down on a chair and showed him how it was done.
Fry's hands level

IMO, this was one of the best songs of 2019 - great live performance, here.
And of 2021. Insurance commercial blew it up.
I was wondering how he would perform this song live, as I thought nobody could whistle live like that. Turns out I was wrong.
He is a Bird.

Lmfaoooo you're so funny!😂❤
I love this kind of whistling.we see some of this in billy joel's The Stranger
Andrews wearing a long scarf while playing the violin with a guitar strapped to his back... This is an international sign for mastery of craft!
Wow, the chemistry with this group of musicians is pretty sick......made my day watching this video...superb!!
he is amazing singer❤🌷
넘 멋지다. 비오는 오늘...행복하네요.감사합니다.
Ted Poor and Alan Hampton are the best rhythm team Andrew Bird has ever had. They have such a great groove together.
First time I heard the whistle part, I could've sworn it would've come from Ennio Morricone. Just a timeless melody - well done Andrew!!!
Name: Andrew Bird
Occupation: Musician, Professional Whistler
What a birdie...! Even birds do not whistle that pretty.
This might be the best opening to all of these KEXP videos.
Had no idea about this song until 4 mos ago at a Starbucks. I was like, "Whoa! I gotta use my Shazam app!" Bam...I got busy and learned the song asap. A great tune! His melodies are amazing!
Same, minus the starbucks. I reached so fast for Shazam.
I heard it in the show The Bear, instant download!
This is a masterpiece!!!! I love watching this video , It’s amazing how they can play this song. I love every part ❤
Wow, that take could be the album version with no pro tools needed!
kexp sound engineer is the best out there !
I found quite a few kexp version to sound sonicly better then the album versions. Kudos to kexp for that. But back to this song, i found this version even with the misplaced pick to be absolutely awesome

2022... wonders!
Thank you for playing a good song❤️ I can't get enough of this song :)
Fantastic
I think this band and this album were a peak for him artistically. Madison Cunningham's contributions can't be overstated! They blend perfectly.
I think thats why he called it my finest work 😂
삼성 cf 음악이 너무 좋아 알게 된 곡
so good 👍
That is some damn fine whistling.
와.. 이거 휘파람 레알?
뭐이리 앞뒤가 안맞는 너낌
"휘파람 CG 아녀?!!"
대박이다 휘파람 ㅋㅋ
Come back to Britain guys.....great to hear the harmonies clearly on this version.
the intro of this song is amazing!
미국의 천재뮤지션 앤드류버드성님 좋은음악 감사합니다
Very Nice!
the beginning reminds me of some Patrick Watson, and then The Shins

Just utterly brilliant. Best song of the decade.
He's the best!
Eppppiiiccc
this new music has a bit of chaotic tension to it...I love how mister Bird has this way with emotions in his music.
Alguien mas cree que tiene mucho parecido en el silvido a Lp pero cada quien tiene su estilo ❤️
It's amazing performance, A.B! 👌
PS Beautiful bass Player! 😁😁
Im looking for Jesus after this.
Stop searching. You have heard him bud.
Cool!
Was that Madison Cunningham?
The songs were good but this one is awesome 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bien 😸
And the guitar weeps while you whistle !!
Me salió como recomendación en Apple Music y aquí estoy

* Camus vibes intensifies *
Hahaha, good one
Well. Here I am, 21 & learning how to whistle
zen mode !
This time I just did drums. There's so much to do here, and fuck me what a drummer!
Where's Weyes Blood why she not in this??
초반부는 국악처럼 들리기도하네요
안녕하세요
This is filthy
what's this girl's name?
I just Jordan Peterson'd so hard watching this. Like a little baby. Beautiful!
2:06
Do you know who the girl is?
Madison Cunningham
존멋이다
The lady looks like Uma Thurman....
Dr Who on the Mic, Binging with Babish on the guitar, Elton John on the piano and blonde ryan reynolds on the drums
Elvis Não Morreu
Kinda reminiscent of The Grateful Dead.
This is essentially "Succession" in music form.
what do you mean by that
I don't know about you, but I liked the girl
i love this song but am disappointed in this take due to the backup singing... like... wat? why andrew why
