Another tip for when I first started was instead of buying a deck right away download ygopro or dueling network to learn on and find a deck you like first
Thanks for the video, it actually helped clear up a few questions I had and give some clarity on my own decision making process. I am a returning player who knows nothing about the new cards and I am doing it more so to introduce my nephew to the game. It was helpful for both of us to watch for our own reasons. Keep posting!
This video speaks so much to me! I was getting back into the game about 3 years ago, never wanted to play competitive, or play meta decks, I just enjoyed collecting cards and having fun duels with friends. Recently me and a couple of friends have all had some rough things happen in each of our lives, we got together, met up, dueled, even mentored one friend on some of the basics and got him into the game, in the end we all said the same thing.. things felt easier because we all had that one thing that we could get together for and forget about the world... Dueling =)
I bought the Kaiba Starter Deck when it launched in '02 and played HARD until I graduated in '05. A friend got me back into it now, and I'm returning to find out that 1/4 of my old deck is now BANNED, new monster types and since when did the graveyard become so ALIVE? I see rituals still SUCK though! 😆
i've been playing yugioh on and off for since it started basically, i was getting back into it around 2011 which was around the time xys monsters came out for the first time but i'd been gone long enough to miss the synchro erras. so i had to learn both at the same time or else i was getting owned :'D, i learned it all and was way better off for it. now that these pendulums are out, i've learned those too but god do i dislike using them! I mostly enjoy using my six sams but i've got several decks at this point that i play, one of them is pendulums!
Getting friends that know the game is the #1 thing everyone should do since they can help you get cards you need, just don't try to get to know the trade sharks or ego players
When I got back into yugioh and saw all these synchros and xyzs I was like I don't know what they are, but I like em Grabbed some heros, threw in some tuners, some xyzs and I was good to go
I agree with investing in staples and extra deck cards. Staples usually include spells and traps, like MST, Lance, Bottomless, and Solemn Warning. Extra Deck staples include card like Abyss Dweller, Castel, 101, and Exciton Knight. Other cards that can see staple status as monsters are cards like Effect Veiler, Maxx C, and Thunder King Rai-Oh. Investing in 3 structure decks and a mega tin or two is the best way to start playing yugioh, IMO.
AuraStorm I agree with the Mega Tin part, especially, too. Grabbing a couple of those these days nets you a lot of what you need, especially for the normally expensive Extra Deck.
***** I agree. 3 Structure Deck like the Fire King or Dark World Structure decks and 2 mega tins will cost around $60 if you buy on Amazon. I've spent around $60 upgrading my Battlin' Boxer deck with cards like Kaiser Colosseum, Abyss Dweller, and Masked Chameleon, so $60 isn't unreasonable to start a yugioh collection.
AuraStorm Dark World might be a liiiiiiiitle bit too advanced for beginners to start with. Fire Kings I think might be okay but Battlin' Boxers might be the easiest deck for beginners to start with at the moment.I managed to build my Boxers at around $20-$30 with the Extra Deck at around $15, and that's only because my card shop only had HC - Excalibur as a Ghost rare for like $8.
AzureKite619 I agree, fire kings are easier to play, and the only card you need outside of the extra deck is Fire King Avatar Yaksha, which just got a reprint. Wolfbark is going up in price, but you don't have to have him, he just makes the deck better. Dark Worlds are a lot like Mermails, it take time to learn what to discard and to not missplay. So you're definitely right about that. Battlin' Boxers are pretty budget, unless you drop money upgrading the deck with Veilers, Wiretaps, and Kaiser Colosseum like I did. I also run Abyss Dweller and TK, but my TK is common.
Joey wheeler didn't know how to play and he did pretty well...lol thanks for the advice guys. I am getting good back into yugioh and your videos have helped a lot.
I was a returning player at one point when I first heard about the pendulum summons I was really bullshit about it I've accepted it and moved on but I still miss the days when the game was simpler
Max Lawrence from my own experience Pendulums aren't really all that brokes though, not when compared with old days classic Return from D.D, Machine Duplication, Inferno Reckless Summon and Dimension Fusion... or even good old Card Destruction DARKWORLDS. or even complex to understand
The summoning types aren't bullshit, its the archetypes that abuse them, like Qliphorts and the soon to be released Igknights. Just like how Zombies can abuse the hell out of synchro summoning and Heroes can abuse the hell out of fusion summoning.
pendulums aren't really that broken. Atleast xyz and synchro monsters don't clog up your hand XD. It is really hard to play them, but my love of Performapals pulls me through.
I left YGO when I was 10 because my Black Skull Dragon was stolen, it was a gift from my friend who died from cancer. After that I sold all my cards and never wanted to play IRL again. Then last year I found out about Devpro and DN. The first deck I played coming back was Chaos Dragons (still love them), then Dark Worlds (dont play anymore), and then Lightsworns (still a favorite). I think those 3 are great for beginners. Now at age 20, I'm thinking of playing IRL again, but still unsure :/
ask yourself, do you truly like yugioh? thats what i ask anybody coming in fresh or returning player. after that think about your answer then ask yourself once again if your unsure, do you truly like yugioh?
***** You should probably go ahead and try. You'll definitely meet friends and learn new things about the game. It's something of a money and time sink depending on how competitive you are, but that's a good thing.
I have been playing this game for about a decade, i started when i was very young and wanted to learn how to play with the right rules from the get go. I had a friend of mine get me back into the game after a prolonged break following the release of syncros. He introduced me to the competitive side of the game and i built my first competitive deck lsworns quickly followed by my all time favorite deck gladiator beasts. I improved quickly since i already had a very long history with the rules of the game and started to top locals frequently playing my gladiator beasts. i just recently moved to AZ and was hoping to continue enjoying the game, but the competitive scene here is extremely judgmental and close minded vs where i used to live where we had excellent players who were even better people. I just attended the OTS champs and 2-0'd several people from my locals with my bujins vs their top 3 decks. They think im trash because i play bujins now and consider me talent less when in reality i can simply play on there level (siding, deduction, bluffing, ex) Team APS, i am very unsure of my standing as a competitive player at this moment, i love the game but the competitive scene is so toxic here i don't know if it is worth it to keep playing competitively IRL. Half the reason i loved this game was because in Texas where im' from we had so many open minded players who played anything from tier 0-1 to tier 3 and rogue and still just complimented each others strengths. What advice can you give me considering how i feel that they might be so salty partly because im new and they haven't been able to beat me in a tournament yet. Should i continue to keep playing and ignore there bs or should i take a back seat? Any advice from anyone who has dealt with this is appreciated. Team APS rocks and if you get back to me APS id be honored:) keep on trucking!
I'd definitely say that the best thing is to remember to have fun with it, if you're into Yugioh you obviously enjoy something about it so make the most of those aspects. I enjoy playing cool old style decks that can give the meta a run for it's money, so I do it all the time and I enjoy it. On a side note, i know most people are on the "support the new stuff" arguments (For things like synch and xyz) but all you have to do is understand you'll be playing against it, you don't also have to play it if you do not want to. You can make a decent deck that doesn't need the extra deck to succeed, it wont be high tier or anything but you can still keep up. Just have to abuse shutting down the meta instead.
I remember seeing a video about this before (I think it was on this channel?) but if people are gonna get into this game they should try out decks that use certain elements of the game. Zombies are a good deck for players to learn how to Synchro summon and figure out how to use the Graveyard, Lightsworn are good for learning how to mill cards (and use Honest?), Heraldic Beasts/Battlin' Boxers are great XYZ decks that beginners could use to get a hang of XYZ summoning. I can think of other decks for other mechanics (Alien/Lockdown, Fire Kings/Destruction, E. Heroes/Fusion Summoning) but they might be a bit more complicated for newbies to get into right away.
Battlin' Boxers are definitely a good budget deck to start with. The most expensive cards you need to run in the main deck are Masked Chameleon, Forbidden Lance, and Kaiser Colosseum. Sure, you could tech it out with Vanity's and Triple Fiendish Chain, but I'm able to get by without Vanitys. Plus I'm not willing to drop $30 on a common. The extra deck's fairly standard, with cheap stuff like Heroic Champion: Excalibur, Number 103: Ragnazero, Cairngorgon, and King of the Feral Imps. The level 8 synchros like Stardust and Crimson Blader are also pretty cheap. You could run Exciton Knight, 101, and Castel, but they aren't totally necessary, just nice to have. Battlin' Boxers are fairly linear, so they are a good deck for beginners to start with.
started yugioh around 2002..stopped around 05/06..just started getting aback into(yes as adult/young adult) what you said about returning players is accurate.. but hard to do ..kind makes me wanna to turn back away cause all the new cards and rules...wanna pick up the old cards I wanted but couldn't get ...but I'm picking things up hanging around my local card shop and watching videos...just so happened to go to my card shop the other day and it happened to be the sneak peak/tournament
Absolutely agree with that statement. Losing is a natural part of Yugioh; you can't expect to have a deck that has no flaws at all. I remember when I started playing Ritual Beasts when they came out and I was constantly having issues with consistency and card ratios. I tested it constantly at my locals to the point where I felt happy with the flow and consistency of the deck. I managed to win a couple of locals tournaments with it. I only dropped the deck due to Cannahawk being limited, but I kept the core of the deck knowing that I will play them again one day. Then I heard about the new Ritual Beast support and I got so excited! It sounds silly me saying this, but if you stick by your deck through thick and thin, you'll build a strong bond with your cards and it will help you better yourself as a player.
+Chris Kinney A bit late, but I recently had the same problem. Turns out reading the manual that comes with any structure deck is actually informative and doesn't seem that tedious. It explained synchro summoning and xyz monsters with clarity.
I'm a returning player for a couple of months and there's a structure deck coming out I want to pick up but I'm worried it will be a bit to advanced for a newer player the D/D and D/D/D deck I was wondering if I could get a few more opinions
Caleb Shook i think team APS posted a video about choosing your first deck as a new or returning player- you should watch that--- i think they make a real good emphasis on choosing an archetype that really appeals to you visually and the way you want to play with your deck (some players love very fast, combo oriented decks, others lover very straightforward, time-tested proven decks, some people love decks for their specific summoning mechanics ( i know a lot of players that are big fans of fusion summon decks while others really love pendulum summon decks over all else) etc.
This is so true i been playing yugioh ever since it came out in 1999 i imported some cards and spent money on this game.. I remember kicking ass with a warrior deck slow as shit but worked lol... I was casually playing then decided to go competitive stopped going to regionals on 2008 became casual player to play just for fun... Its a fun game it should not consume people's lives cuz in the end the more you give to the game the less and less you get back
I got back into the game after like 5 years because I heard Blue eyes was becoming a deck back when Azure and Maiden appeared. Me growing up as a Kaiba fanboy started building a deck and the first thing that happened when I went to the store is I got dirty looks from players cause I meta decked. Im like: what?! Im just playing Blue eyes cause Ive always liked the damned dragon. But no, Im a dirty bandwaggoner now :T feelsbadman
I think playing card games on motorcycles wouldn't be a bad idea and be safe. in the show, they rarely crash because THEY'RE PROFFESIONALS and shouldn't be replicated by idiots.
also when playing for fun in unlimited, make your own type of ruling and discuss it with your friends so that things are more interesting. me and my pals dont play by the anime rules but we do structure our deck to be more anime like with whole run 1 copy of every card except a particular monster or two then go crazy with yout kinda themed but not reallly themed deck
Don't use the Anime as a reference to make your deck, I did that and it took me 2 years to get on the right track with all the money I spent. I stopped because it was too difficult to teach myself the meta, then I found a skype group and found regulars to duel me every now and then, we even became friends. Too bad I can't go to events and stuff too, I have a shitty job that doesn't give me 2 days off. But I play online, lol.
I'm looking to play with my friends when they come over to hang out. We play Magic The Gathering and other TCGs , but would love to try out Yu-Gi-Oh! to expand our game nights. So if i want to buy a couple of balanced decks that could battle each other, what should i go for?
I'm started playing again last year after being away from the game since the end of the first season of the yugioh show. I had to relearn all the rules and read all the xyz and syncrhos effects and usage. Boy was it a pain. I remember the first deck I used when I came back was a legendary ocean deck. Good times lol.
I have been out of the game for the past 7/8 years..... Really want to get back into it, talk to me.... What should i get to start myself off again?? Any decent packs, decks ?
i know what you mean when you say dont stay in the past recently i wanted to rebuild my amazon deck and i added inn some newer cards to make the deck function quicker and run more smoothly than old versions
Is a playmat really that important? I always keep my table clean so my sleeves dont get dirty... I always just used those paper ones you get from buying the cards themselves... I know they dont last long cuz theyre made of paper but I buy cards pretty frequently so I replace them pretty frequently as well. Cuz I really feel like spending 25 bucks on a piece of foam with some art on it isnt worth it xP
A playmat is important not because of the art but because it protects your cards and prolonging your sleeves life(saving you money) and is generally a one time buy unless you want new playmats
2 things that kind of go side by side. Number 1 thing is. Read your cards and read your opponent's cards. You don't want to get into a duel and your opponent does something that would normally be against the rules but letting a card allow it to do so just to get proven wrong. Second thing is Read the Rule book and memorize it that way you can use game mechanics against your opponent. Most new players I went against just didn't read my cards or theirs. Now it is ok if you miss something but don't get all upset when your opponent tells you that you can't do something cause you missed something. Just accept it and learn from it. It will help you out in the long run.
learned yugioh in 3 days started off with master pendulum and now i am playing noble knights proffesionally currently hold a streak in my town 20 and 0 im undefeated sry dis is my sis account my account is gaming god
I say get get the game on the psp or 3ds. It doesn't have all the cards or up to date ban list but you can learn a lot and you don't need the current meta kicking your ass while your still learning cards n stuff. First I was on tagforce 5 an then I got in ygopro. I haven't bought any cards though. But that's just me. Some day I'll start spending money on yugi!
I usually run elemental hero's. I'm trying to pick up a new deck and saw a thing at my local Walmart, it's $20 and it comes with the cybernetic revolution structure, the ancient gear structure deck, and the machina deck. Think it's ok to get, and can it even keep up with top tier decks?
Ryan McCardle It overall is a quite nice combo especially for $20. I picked one up even though I already had a Cyber Dragon and AG starter from before, as more copies are always welcome. If anything you get alot of nice staple cards overall between the three decks.
Ryan McCardle Cyber Dragons can keep up because they have the ability to put loads of damage on the board in a single turn but the structure decks won't be enough. You'll have to invest in cards like Raigeki, Foolish Burial, Book of Moon, Reckless Greed, Trap Stun, Cybernetic Fusion Support, etc. or you'll be trampled on by everything in the Meta and even some casual decks (E.G. Lightsworns, Zombies, Chaos Dragons, etc.).
4:00 I would also play Fusion,Synchro,Pendulum or more XYZ or something else than Noble Knights or Monarchs, but many of the newer cards just have a bad design and feel uninteresting. And I don't p(l)ay to win, so I don't care.
I have a weird question: could you guys do a reaction video to "Actual cannibal Sheia LaBeouf"? It is a really funny "song" and I think it would be funny to see your reactions
3:50 I SHIT YOU NOT I was actually working on a Summoned Skull deck (For 2002 format) when he said this LMAO. (I often leave APS videos going in the background when I work on decklists)
I've been playing for a while and do you have any ideas for a dark magician deck I've found a deck list but what is your opinion to add to my new deck ( I've been playing when I was 7 )
hey i just got back from a LONG break of yugioh (5 years) and i have all the old lob exoida 1 ed cars and white dragon from the sdk but im afraid to go to the cardshopp because i think thell rip me off tehre like " ohh my synchro is much more worth then your cards" but i want new cards aswell to make a deck and so on so should i go there or just keep my old cards and buy new ones instead of trading my very old 2002-2005 cards
zen zenus Look up the prices online and write them down somewhere. Figure out which cards you want and find out their value too. Then you can start drawing up potential trades from there.
I'm not a noob. I'm not getting alot of staples since honestly I don't like using many of the stables and some of the staples I already own. not considering most of the extra deck monsters. I mainly save up money for a deck with everything in it then buy it. I'm currently saving money for Shaddolls and Necloths.
People can say what they want about the game now, but I enjoy it. "Yu-Gi-Oh is broken!!!" It was broken from the beginning- that's part of the fun, imo. Make a deck, get with the times, and don't get mad when a new Summoning method comes out because if you'd keep an open mind you might really enjoy it.
Yugioh is not broken now like it was then dont compare them lol. Plus the embrace whatever konami throws at you as a summoning mechanic just makes you look like a slave. Each summoning mechanic came with a lot of broken cards that you can multiple special summon with. And it got more broken with each mechanic. Now we got dracopals.
i'm just getting back into the game after 10 years i last played a elemental hero deck lol back in 06 and now im back and the game changed alot lol well i hope i can keep up i just wanna play for fun lol and chill man i started collecting pokemon lol the full arts are the shit lol well team aps bye
I played back in 6-8 then quit till a few months ago, 3 friends and I stared at the same time we built a team, now there we are 5 we all split for boxes and we duel all the time and research stuff all time. I shall be going to regional's on the 19th. We never trade around here they are all ass wholes that just try to rip us off. I knew if I didn't have a team we wouldn't of been able to advance so quickly. I bought the round table set to get the mat and build the deck, but now I will not purchase anymore till I win them.
Chaparro CG You need a tuner to synchro summon. After that you can tribute as many as you like provided the combined levels of the monster you are tributing are the same as the synchro monster you want to play. Does that help?
another thing if u like an ark type don't change it just cause you loose to me I will always stand by my gagaga's I might play different varriants like gagaga dark magician but when I play you will always see the triple gagaga magician
here's some tips for videos make the music quieter so we can hear your voices better. and make them shorter. people will click off the video if it's to long. try to keep it under 6 min. and get better lighting
***** im a returning player from way back like right before GX started and i want to play for fun and competitively but dont really know if i can get into the syncros, xyz etc.. but idk how to play them want togive em a chance also is it still possible to play boss monsters like blue eyes i really want a blues eyes deck. lol like i have two starter decks a joey and Atlantis emperor or whatever with some new and old cards how do i learn to build a new deck when last i played was 2006
caleb shipley Look into deck profiles for Cyber Dragons, that combines mechanics that you are used to (Fusions) and new mechanics (Xyz). Once you have the deck in front of you then it is easy to get the hang of, just make sure to read your cards and the new rules properly and it will be fine.
If you wanna try them all out go D/D/D. They do pendulum, synchro, xyz, and fusion. Or try Zefra, they do what D/D/D can do, but they can also ritual. I'd recommend D/D/D though.
I'm a returning player from the syncro and xyz era and I haven't seen anything about the pendulums. I did a quick reading on it and I plan on making a deck that I've created, I haven't had a chance to play the deck against an AI or a human. Anyone got any advice?
best thing to do is first pick up a structure deck (whatever that is out at the time). Those come with the rule book and a basic set of cards to start. Read the rules, understand the style of the deck you have (the yugioh wiki can make it all super easy as to what to add), make a deck (40 card deck is best), then practice. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask! Also use devpro ( you don't have to pay for cards and you can construct your dream deck to duel against others. Perfect for designing your deck and practicing before you buy the cards irl)
There are a few useful outlets. Konami updates the banlist on the official Yu-Gi-Oh website, and channels like Alter Reality Games keeps up to date on the decks that do well at events.
The Mega Tin 2014 and Legendary Collection 5D's are both good ways to pick up a lot of the staple Synchro and Xyz monsters. The Battle Packs aren't bad, either, and the new Premium Gold 2 has some valueable staples.
If you follow yugioh on Facebook, you will be notified when they upload a new article and their articles can give you a lot of information. Arg articles are good to read if you want to learn about the best deck. The organization is a great website that puts out news faster than any other outlet. Mkhol40 also makes videos constantly talking about new products, packs, ideas etc. however, the most trustworthy source is the Yugioh website.
Have a really noob question that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I bought some Ultra Pro Sleeves, but I noticed that when I slide the cards in, the shiny little sticker on the bottom on the sleeve covers the 'ATK' number part of the card. Any ideas? Can anyone help with that. Cheers
I stop after zombie madness it's all effect monsters link xyz and sink rose have a 15 card that is not part of you deck and deal it around them so you hole deck is side deck your side deck is your mine deck but be careful they nerf cards like chaos emperor dragon envoy of the end says "this card cannot be normal summon or sell this car can only be special summoned by removing one light and one dark monster in your grave from play pay 1000 life points sent all cards in both players hands and on the field to the grave inflict 300 points of damage to your ponies life points for each card sent to the grave this way and you can still attack with it" but the new version is you can only do one or the other you can either attack with it or do it effect. And if you notice you're gonna have to pay 20 $25 for just a mat and also sleeves and what Yu-Gi-Oh cards are expensive anyways so it's a rich man's game but give them $20 to 25 for there mat or sleeves
I just started yesterday and im starting to learn from playing on yugioh duel links and after learning i will buy an actual cards , and i want a friend to talk to about yugioh . Someone ?
I'm not a returning player I've been playing since 2014 but come on pendulums are the worst syncros sure and I love xyz and numbers but I can't stand pendulum
Yeah a mechanic that's rarely used. And the most decks that involve It are either power creeped or hit hard by the banlist. So Pendulums didn't ruined the game or anything.
Another tip for when I first started was instead of buying a deck right away download ygopro or dueling network to learn on and find a deck you like first
thanks for the tip
Trell is probably the manliest looking yugioh player I've ever seen.
Logan Mardlin I was surprised to hear that he even played at first!
Logan Mardlin what a fanboy lol jk
Bro he has the black man mullet he is a legend
Thanks for the video, it actually helped clear up a few questions I had and give some clarity on my own decision making process. I honestly wasn't expecting to watch this entire thing but you guys are genuinely captivating.
I was checking out your old videos and then I went to my feed and what I find? YES.

Fucking oath that's the funniest thing I've heard on this channel
Trell's commentary on criticism is great. I wish it was by itself, I would show it to people in general regarding criticism.
Joey wheeler didn't know how to play and he did pretty well...lol thanks for the advice guys. I am getting good back into yugioh and your videos have helped a lot.

It's something of a money and time sink depending on how competitive you are, but that's a good thing.
well.... New Red eyes support... You can use that Black Skull Dragon again.
Also sorry about your friend :(
the lightsworn starter deck was a great investment to get me started and I am building and improving the deck for locals
They think im trash because i play bujins now and consider me talent less when in reality i can simply play on there level (siding, deduction, bluffing, ex)
Team APS, i am very unsure of my standing as a competitive player at this moment, i love the game but the competitive scene is so toxic here i don't know if it is worth it to keep playing competitively IRL.
Spellbooks would like to have a word with you.
AzureKite619 You did see that video here! Glad you remembered! And that's great advice! :)
The comment about seeing guys on motorbikes with a duel disk....hillarious!
id say don't give up on your deck after you lose . anyone agree and or
elibarate?
This helped me out a ton, because I am a pokemon tcg player so this was an odd switch to have a side hobby
Any advice for someone who quit like 10 years ago and is trying to get back in and has no idea what these new cards are about.
Find a local cardshop, make friends, go rouge or budget for deckbuilding, and invest in staples NOT specific archetype stuff, buy reprints
+Chris Kinney A bit late, but I recently had the same problem. Turns out reading the manual that comes with any structure deck is actually informative and doesn't seem that tedious. It explained synchro summoning and xyz monsters with clarity.
Chris Kinney same here I haven't played since the original series and am trying to get started you have any luck ?
Its a fun game it should not consume people's lives cuz in the end the more you give to the game the less and less you get back
The dude on the right is creeping me out
ManlyMantis lolwut?
***** exactly
***** I'm tearing up. He totally pulled that one on purpose xD
***** You're onto me.
+Zeitgeist WHY YOU DO DIS MAN
I got back into the game after like 5 years because I heard Blue eyes was becoming a deck back when Azure and Maiden appeared.
Yu-Gi-Oh is the cool black dude's TCG, Magic: The Gathering seems to be the nerdy white guy's game. Gonna get into yu-gi-oh now....
+The Grumpy Soothsayer (TheGrumpySoothsayer) but....I play Yu-Gi-Oh, and I'm a melon. Y U MELON RACISM
The Grumpy Soothsayer And Pokemon is for kids
I think playing card games on motorcycles wouldn't be a bad idea and be safe. in the show, they rarely crash because THEY'RE PROFFESIONALS and shouldn't be replicated by idiots.
I think in Arc-V they explain that it's autopilot
+CloudyDaze Nah, they mention the auto-pilot thing back in 5ds, when they engage duel mode, the computer will sometimes say "Auto-pilot standing by"
+KarmaFTW Most of the time. The auto-pilot was required to be turned off during the WRDGP,, and I think Crow turned it off against his Dark Signer.
I have made friends/rivals in YU-GI-OH not to say I'm a awesome duelist I have had 20 win streak after a 10 losing streak
card games are WAY to expensive to really play seriously
thats why I play the video games only lol
also when playing for fun in unlimited, make your own type of ruling and discuss it with your friends so that things are more interesting. me and my pals dont play by the anime rules but we do structure our deck to be more anime like with whole run 1 copy of every card except a particular monster or two then go crazy with yout kinda themed but not reallly themed deck
GamerSastn
Don't use the Anime as a reference to make your deck, I did that and it took me 2 years to get on the right track with all the money I spent. I stopped because it was too difficult to teach myself the meta, then I found a skype group and found regulars to duel me every now and then, we even became friends.
Too bad I can't go to events and stuff too, I have a shitty job that doesn't give me 2 days off. But I play online, lol.
can I be a part of the Skype dueling ?
Payge Collings there's groups on facebook that can help
+GamersXnostalgia what is it ?
called ?
Salamander yugioh fun skype/oovoo tournamnets
I'm looking to play with my friends when they come over to hang out. We play Magic The Gathering and other TCGs , but would love to try out Yu-Gi-Oh! to expand our game nights.
So if i want to buy a couple of balanced decks that could battle each other, what should i go for?
I'm started playing again last year after being away from the game since the end of the first season of the yugioh show. I had to relearn all the rules and read all the xyz and syncrhos effects and usage. Boy was it a pain. I remember the first deck I used when I came back was a legendary ocean deck. Good times lol.
1AngryPerson Getting back in can be a tough thing! I actually vaguely remember playing during the Legendary Ocean days!
I have been out of the game for the past 7/8 years..... Really want to get back into it, talk to me.... What should i get to start myself off again?? Any decent packs, decks ?
I just bought a starter deck full of performapals, should I buy new decks as I get better or just buy individual cards to improve my current deck?
the guy the right has a cool sounding voice
i know what you mean when you say dont stay in the past recently i wanted to rebuild my amazon deck and i added inn some newer cards to make the deck function quicker and run more smoothly than old versions
My favorite card back in the day, Man-Eater Bug, LOL.
Just find a cheap one. You can get solid color ones online for less than $10
***** Ahh I see.
Thanks alot :D
A playmat is important not because of the art but because it protects your cards and prolonging your sleeves life(saving you money) and is generally a one time buy unless you want new playmats
Is the mat in the 5Ds collection good?
It ca be used but cards slidr off easily
For building a deck should I buy mega tins, booster packs, or just buy each individual card online?
+Eduardo Garcia We're making a video to address this all very soon, but if you already know the deck you're making, just buy singles.
Buy packs first for the cheap easy access to a lot of cards. Then go buy singles to fill in the holes in your deck.
i am new to yugioh and i bought dragons collide and i wanna know what ur opinon on makeing a useful deck with it while adding magicians to it
I finally have a picture!!!
Nice profile pic lol
learned yugioh in 3 days started off with master pendulum and now i am playing noble knights proffesionally currently hold a streak in my town 20 and 0 im undefeated sry dis is my sis account my account is gaming god
Gloria Afotey It's time to duel!
7:14 LMFAO, card games on motorcycles! it's actually hard and dangerous, but still people make fun of it xD
I have a completely unrelated question lol: Have you ever thought of or have done a Yubel deck build? Is it still a viable playstyle?
I've done it in the past but there is too much hate for it in this current format
Thx for the guide man rly helped👍
I say get get the game on the psp or 3ds. It doesn't have all the cards or up to date ban list but you can learn a lot and you don't need the current meta kicking your ass while your still learning cards n stuff. First I was on tagforce 5 an then I got in ygopro. I haven't bought any cards though. But that's just me. Some day I'll start spending money on yugi!
I want to be a purely filthy casual, but I want that dark magician deck. How can I achieve that deck archetype
Ryan McCardle machina and cyber is good ancient gear is quite bad
Ryan McCardle
It overall is a quite nice combo especially for $20.
I've been playing for a while and do you have any ideas for a dark magician deck I've found a deck list but what is your opinion to add to my new deck ( I've been playing when I was 7 )
There is not much you can do with dark magician my guy ☹️☹️
@@adlidoeslifting4563 yeah, learned that the hard way unfortunately.
So sad tho
Gonna send this to people.
Flash Knight is not a bad card. then can be used to make first of the dragons
hey i just got back from a LONG break of yugioh (5 years) and i have all the old lob exoida 1 ed cars and white dragon from the sdk but im afraid to go to the cardshopp because i think thell rip me off tehre like " ohh my synchro is much more worth then your cards" but i want new cards aswell to make a deck and so on so should i go there or just keep my old cards and buy new ones instead of trading my very old 2002-2005 cards
Cards from 2003 are pretty expensive and rare from what I've heard
zen zenus Look up the prices online and write them down somewhere.
What are necloths?
Sigma ' a unreleased ritual archetype based on duel terminal monsters like, Ice barriers, Fabels ect
That sounds cool. What set?
not sure, maybe after next challanger. don't qute me on that. or the one after that one
I'm going to look into that. Sounds like a fun build. Been looking for something new from madolches and gustos.
thanks for the video
I am not a mob but this is a helper reminder.
Is that your dorm y'all filming in ?
***** This is Trell's house. Most of the videos I record alone or with the twins are in my dorm.
***** oh OK lol I thought you had one of those deluxe dorms.
i'm just getting back into the game after 10 years i last played a elemental hero deck lol back in 06 and now im back and the game changed alot lol well i hope i can keep up i just wanna play for fun lol and chill man i started collecting pokemon lol the full arts are the shit lol well team aps bye
Quick queston...im new and i was wondering how many monsters can you use to synchro ?
Chaparro CG You need a tuner to synchro summon. After that you can tribute as many as you like provided the combined levels of the monster you are tributing are the same as the synchro monster you want to play. Does that help?
if the requirements don't state how many, you can use as many as you like as long as the levels add up.
I'm getting back into Yugioh, but I dont know what Pendulum's do. Can someone explain to me?
The main Yugioh website has a great video explaining the mechanic. Try it out.
what do you have against tins
another thing if u like an ark type don't change it just cause you loose to me I will always stand by my gagaga's I might play different varriants like gagaga dark magician but when I play you will always see the triple gagaga magician
My friend added Soitsu in my deck when he was making it for me.
Why...
here's some tips for videos make the music quieter so we can hear your voices better. and make them shorter. people will click off the video if it's to long. try to keep it under 6 min. and get better lighting
i should add that they also are pretty boring.
Please bring Trell when doing discussions, not your roomates,i mean theyre cool but Trell can keep a conversation better in videos :)
good vid guys.
Didnt know that CJ played Yugioh
***** im a returning player from way back like right before GX started and i want to play for fun and competitively but dont really know if i can get into the syncros, xyz etc.. but idk how to play them want togive em a chance also is it still possible to play boss monsters like blue eyes i really want a blues eyes deck. lol like i have two starter decks a joey and Atlantis emperor or whatever with some new and old cards how do i learn to build a new deck when last i played was 2006
caleb shipley I'd be happy to help you out. PM me your skype or something and i could help you get back into the game. :)
caleb shipley Look into deck profiles for Cyber Dragons, that combines mechanics that you are used to (Fusions) and new mechanics (Xyz). Once you have the deck in front of you then it is easy to get the hang of, just make sure to read your cards and the new rules properly and it will be fine.
HeyIt'sGeorge_ thanks man deff will
caleb shipley It was difficult for me to understand too. The confusion on my face when I first saw an XYZ monster must've been hilarious.
Download YGOPro, DevPro, The Dawn of A New Era. Download YGO and Dev on a seperate site from their website.
Dakota Olaya u
trying to make my evilswarm deck from dueling network
is the legendary decks 2 Yugo deck legal and is it good
yugi*
Yo you almost poked his eye with that card man chill lol
man just you wait my red eyes darkness dragon deck will be top tier eventually it will have good support I'm sure of it.
I play Pokemon and I've been collecting for a few months and I've invested a lot of money but I want to play yu-gi-oh pls help me decide.
Enraged Torterra Try DevPro.
best thing to do is first pick up a structure deck (whatever that is out at the time).
Perfect for designing your deck and practicing before you buy the cards irl)
i would like to know how to keep up with yugioh. Like the ban list or events or the best decks
There are a few useful outlets. Konami updates the banlist on the official Yu-Gi-Oh website, and channels like Alter Reality Games keeps up to date on the decks that do well at events.
***** What packs/decks should a new player invest in? You mention investing in staples, how should i go about gathering staples?
***** The first cards i bought were in the 5D's legendary collection ^^ I now have all the signer cards except for archfiend
That Red Guard had a cruel creator.
Play Dueling Network or YGOPRO in order to find out whether or not you like the game.
I tried to play dueling network but I got banned for being a noon :(
+HUNTER ROGUE *noob
Have a really noob question that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I bought some Ultra Pro Sleeves, but I noticed that when I slide the cards in, the shiny little sticker on the bottom on the sleeve covers the 'ATK' number part of the card. Any ideas? Can anyone help with that. Cheers
I'd just flip the sleeve upside down
maujo619 Yeah, that can be an issue, but I'm used to it by now honestly.
When you buy ultra pro get the smalls. They will have the circle logo on top. Plus feels more natural.
I don't know How to pendulum summon
+Thelegodeamon There's actually a tutorial on the official website!
Thelegodeamon watch the video. it helped me and I just started two days ago.
Trell is right, Flash Knight is legit OP!
dude on the right looks baked asf.
Paul always looks like that
when I was a kid, I was so very pissed off when I found out what magical hats REALLY does...pretty much nothing
Someone ?
I will never leave the past. My black rose dragon deck with rose and thorn themed cards is the best ever and fuck anyone who thinks otherwise.
How about number 106...
me to
please put Trell in more video's.
