Thanks for all this information my RUclips friend, I've got the same issue regarding the spur gear etc. I've got a metal spur gear to put onto mine. Very helpful mate. 👌 👍
@@rcmatmat thanks do you mean the brass pinion survived and the plastic one didn't? Or were both destroyed? Do you know if there is a plastic pinion available for this model?
@@rcmatmat can you find a link to the plastic pinion for me? Can't find one anywhere. It's for a weird project so being more quiet is more important than stripping the gears. Thanks in advance
I know this is a bit irrelevant to this video but what size nut drivers did you use on the wheel nuts and shock tower nuts I’ve just bought myself a ftx vantage pro carbon shock tower.
Important stuff for every owner of this buggy or potential buyers: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KqDGJUVtW8GiJOme7ptlKQXKAbrv6UdB4-F_WQeOfGo/ This model was my first model when I entered the RC hobby. My main reason for choosing this model was, that it promised a good and cheap availability for spares. The trick is to know all the clones like the VRX Spirit and Quanum Vandal (there are even more) and all shops selling parts for them. The document linked above covers all of this! I guess this should be of great value for everyone running one of these great buggys. Let me know what you think about it!
Just seen your voice I have just got a vantage 2 . I am sorry but I would not trust you to open a tin of spam . You started with a 4wd buggy you ended up with a 2wd buggy you missed out on putting the MAIN DRIVE SHAFT back in the car then you said it all was ok LOL JOKE .
There are various spur gear covers (top covers and for the chassis plate) available. Also a guide how to fully enclose the spur gear to keep dirt out. I linked all of it hier in this document: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KqDGJUVtW8GiJOme7ptlKQXKAbrv6UdB4-F_WQeOfGo/edit#gid=71361030&range=B26 The document also includes a full list of all spare parts and clones of this model on the first sheet.
@@RixxxiR thanks so much, that list is awesome!

Your welcome my friend 👍
Has anyone seen a slipper delete for this or a smaller spur gear? Thanks!
Thanks for that, my next upgrade.
doesnt the plastic spur make it quieter? was there originally a plastic pinion as well? I cant seem to find one
The plastic spur does make it quieter but with motor I have it doesn't last long so metal all the way same with the pinion the brass lasted 2 runs 👍👍👍

There are plastic pinions but I wouldn't recommend them if going brushless, yes I destroyed both pinion and spur but not since I upgraded to metal 👍
