Minimalism is the art of knowing how much is just enough. Digital minimalism applies this idea to our personal technology. It's the key to living a focused life in an increasingly noisy world.
I went half a year without internet. It was hard... I mean I had internet access in Uni but that's not the same. It totally changed my perspective though, and I stopped this mindless consumption for good... Thank you for sharing your experience. Cool funny moment, when you said how you cought yourself scrolling through the feet mindlessly while filming your b-roll 😅👍🏻
Oh wow! That must have been challenging but a crazy experience! 👍 Thanks for sharing this Undine! I've totally forgotten that I'm actually filming instead of scrolling.🤣

Two months ago I quitted from social media. From the outside you can se how much people are attached to it. You inspired me to have a more minimal life, thanks to you and other RUclipsrs the way I see my life is different from the way I used to do it before. 💕💖💪🏻
Time allotments for social media are essential. Discipline is key in order to enjoy social media and not be consumed by it. Balance and awareness brings a healthy level of usage of it.
I took the extreme route a while ago by deleting all my social media apps. I can't deny that I felt really good about it, but sometimes I do feel kind of left out of my friend's circle. "Didn't you know? I posted on my stories" is a phrase I hear often. So I'm pondering adding a little bit of social media back into my life and your tips will come in really handy. Thank you!
When I started getting that response from people, I responded with "my phone number has been the same for a decade" and it was often easy to verify that someone had my updated number. While I understand folks valuing their conveniences, I think it is a bit absurd how some people insist we use specific proprietary software to be sociable when the whole conversation started with them forgetting someone. I think out of sight, out of mind, is more at play and feel like we should hold our peers accountable for such things. I apologize for the blunt way that I am presenting this, but really I hope that if\when you reactivate your accounts that you do it for yourself and to convenience your life more than convenience your social circle. Wishing you luck.
I completely agree with you, @SSNUTHIN. It wasn't as much of they trying to make me feel bad for something, more of an "oh, I thought you already knew that". Not because they don't care about me, but more because they're used to everyone using social media. It's an inconvenience but not one I care much about. With time, they got used to me being the one that never sees what they posted. Some even started sending me links to a post they wanted me to see. But I'm beginning a career as a freelancer and social media kind of plays a big role in this new world we're living. So I think I should come back to it to broaden my professional reach. I was just resenting doing that because I just really got over social media; it doesn't really suit me anymore. PS: You don't need to apologize. "Be honest and direct" is a sort of mantra I like to use in conversation, and I appreciate people who do the same.
I've had a very awkward experience because of that. I ran into a friend and asked: "Hey, what's up? How's your boyfriend going?" She looked at me as if I'd said something wrong and left. A friend of mine was close by, came up to me and said: "Are you crazy?! They broke up!" How could I have known? If I used social media, it would probably know that apparently.
I deleted my social media accounts. After seeing videos like this, and reading books on the subject, I decided it was time to stop being a lab rat. It’s so good for the soul to step away from social media, which to me, doesn’t make us social at all.
I've been a minimalist for 10 years now. I really like your videos and advices and the hard work you put into your channel. I only use Facebook and RUclips. As a private person and a singer it's enough for me. No Insta, no Twitter, and a big no to tiktok.
@@falah5487 There is definitely internet use when studying. However, there is a difference in the use of the internet. There's some very good advice here. I recently deleted my Twitter app to force me to use the website directly and spend less unintentional time on the platform.
I've deleted Facebook & Instagram app on my phone for almost a year, feel more peace with my life. I feel more anxiety when scrolling on those stuff. Because I always compare myself to others' life... so one day I just DELETE it on my phone, and rarely open it on my laptop. (Only some time I need to login with Facebook) Deleting it brings me joy, but still has con. Something like I didn't know everything about my friends' life until I met some of my friend, they will talk about some friends life recently. And I realized, "Ha! They just like the feed in social media. But in more analogue way! 📻" But hey, I told myself: I should concentrate my life rather than others'. The social media is just... not my place. Thanks for sharing your ideas about social media, cheers!! 🍻
Great video and important message! Intentional use and moderation is the key. We need to remind ourselves that the real world is more important than images, videos, or numbers on a screen.
It is a strange coincidence that yesterday by accident I deleted my Facebook account and I don't remember the password. I was going crazy because I couldn't remember and now that I see your video I feel relieved. Thank you 😊.
Let it fully delete. I'm past the 30 day window for undoing permanent deletion and I am so happy about it. 🙂 It's gone! I'm comparing less to others, dont have FOMO, and less distracted.
Your edits are getting so good. You add an extra touch most channels do not. Plus there's just a way you describe things i can internalize so much better than many other channels. I also love how you show a true side to minimalism that i dont need to be an architect with a $4000 couch to be a minimalist or to have it still be aesthetically pleasing.
Thank you for this and all your videos. You have great content. I don't connect with social media and I only use RUclips. So many people overuse social media and waste their precious time. I am grateful I recognized the trap early on. Keep safe and once thanks for all you do.
For me social media came as a way to expand my world and find people with similar tastes, mindsets, ideas. Yet I do realise how much time I spend hanging on my Instagram account. It does envolve a great deal of mindless scrolling indeed. Since quarentine time arrived however I've noticed that I'm more aware however. I don't want to just scroll up and down all day. I want content that I actually care to spend my time watching. This channel was an addition. Several others were decluttered. My instagram has a thousand less people to who I'm subscribed and the count is still coming down. Who knew we could follow so much people? Right now I'm focusing on not being so mindless. On reading more instead fo always going for a social media app. And yes, I do read books on my phone. It is actually convenient when I want to just spend 5 minutes of time on myself.

I'm a bit of a caveman when it comes to social media, so don't quote me on that, but if you don't want to be rude unfollowing friends on Instagram (or you hoard followers by following people first ;P), I think you can follow them and just "mute" their feed, stories and whatnot.
