Minimalism is basically *_prioritizing_* our lives, whether things or also what we do/our routines. Choosing the things that truly matter and removing distracting and useless tasks. By things that "truly matter", not only work but also self-care. Great video as always!
Excellent point about pluralizing the word priority. I read the book Why We Sleep and it talks about how sleeping has this stigma attached to it. People who get less than 7 hours of sleep are perceived to be hardworking when they’re really just hurting themselves physiologically and mentally, which will ironically affect their productivity. This is backed by years of research.
minimalisim acctually is really make me so enjoy the time, it's about work front desktop, hear some lofi/chill song and thinking about what we've gonna be do today, all gonna be perfect if we have a good room to work, well minimalisim acctually Looks simple and Friendly with nature and the surrounding air
Multitasking is for the birds. (Meaning an absolute waste of time.) Yet when I worked as a private external Business Consultant, many managers and.... told me multitasking was the best thing ever to them. But the companies always said they were losing money and... I tried to teach them to slow down, have minimal distractions and to concentrate on one thing at a time, complete that before moving onto the next point or task. Often they just looked at me as if I were crazy. But the few that followed my advice got quickly promoted for being super efficient and working within a budget. Am I joyed to be a true minimalist in all areas of my life. This was another great video.
I love your videos man! I love the mindset you have and vision of minimalism. You have truly inspired me on my journey to minimalism. Keep up the great work! I’m constantly tuned in for your new videos 🤓
Hmmmm I never thought about how 24 hours in a day, is actually 3 x 8 hours! Oh my goodness! That's a great advice, it always seemed there's so little time but thinking like this helps! And decision fatigue is so real, I have the same problem of being too "perfectionist" and spending time on deciding on an option!
Adopting the 3, 8s rule as of 0500hrs tomoro morning. Nuff love from Jamaica 🇯🇲 you had a no idea how much you have helped me and encouraged me to actually get off my lazy bum and start my channel, minimalism is life.
6th place haha really salute to your work u are soo clean and soo dedicated lots of love from India u inspired me to take up minimalism and I am still a student but when I start earning I will definitely donate to your channel chio
Thank you for another inspiring video Cheng :) I sometimes wonder what kind of music you listen to besides the xx. Like, what keeps you focused, etc. Or what you listen to in your downtime on a daily basis. Does music help or hinder your productivity? Anyone else wondered this?
Very good productivity tips. Though the idea of "multi tasking is promoted in modern society" it actually de-values paying closer attention to each task at hand. Focusing on one thing at a time and being efficient and organized brings calm to the mind and body. "A place for everything and everything in its place". (quote by Benjamin Franklin).
Minimalism starts with a simple theory. A lot of the items on your to-do list just do not need to be there. By designing your day differently and by focusing on only your most important goals, you can afford to spend more time on the things that actually matter and can do higher-quality work.
Your videos are really cool, I have watched a bunch. One thing I've noticed it that you say "this" way to much towards the end of all your videos, and it would be much better if you didn't do that.
As always when watching your videos I see some things I started to do reactively to having a cluttered life and others I had not considered. I think I will work on the redundant devices issue. Now that I am getting into the weeds of programming I have found that a 2nd monitor actually helped with my ability to work smoothly. But what I also had was a phone sitting on a tripod at the corner of my desk. I had not thought about it until you mentioned it, but I find it buzzing and lighting up and the blinking lights absolutely maddening when I am struggling to focus and distracting when I have a good work flow. I will try to make a place for my phone as I work because the phone being with me has been clearly inefficient.
