At most people just know in general what satvik is and know some tamsik veggies. Most people are unaware of what falls into rajasik category. Also, while people might be aware of the above categories, most people in urban centers straight up prefer veg and non-veg categories.
Oh shut up, most Indians dont even know about these words, nor do they cook in such formats. Also, most vegetarian obsessed North Indians assume Tamsik and Rajasik r forbidden unhealthy diet and Satvik vegetarianism is the most ideal and superior which is completely wrong.

Absolutely spot on with the generosity thing. I'm an Indian who has been brought up in Finland, and one thing I've realized, if it's written in paper, people will always abide by the paper.
