If I am not mistaken, 4k is useful for the ability to digitally zoom to show details otherwise blurred on wide angle lower res cameras. No need for a 4k screen.
Hi Barrett, The greatest benefit of 4K security cameras is seen when you display them on a 4K monitor. However, if you display a 4K camera on a 1080p monitor, you do still get the benefit on being able to digitally zoom in.
@@cctvcamerapros I have both 4MP and 4K (8MP) Hikvision ColorVu cameras. The 4K camera is sharper and digital zoom shows more detail. You don't need a 4K monitor to see the differences.
IP camera do not necessarily have better video quality than coax / BNC security cameras. However, there are other factors to consider. For example, in our Viewtron product line, you can only get AI software with the IP cameras. Also, you can record at a higher frame rate for 4K IP cameras vs 4K BNC cameras, with our Viewtron line at least. www.cctvcamerapros.com/viewtron-security-cameras-s/1476.htm
Thanks for this guide video. I have a 2mp/3.6mm camera. I want to convert it to a very clear 180 degree view. Can I replace the 2mp/3.6mm to 5mp/1.8mm lens?
hi, thanks for the video i was looking for some references with these kind of cameras and how they look in 4mp and 4k... i have a question ... obviously for 8mp cameras we need a display screen capable of 4k (monitor or tv) to fully apreciate the 4k resolution... but with 4 mp? is it the same do we need a QHD or "2K" monitor for that kind of camera resolution? or is it a 1080p monitor enough for these cameras ?
These vides were made using Viewtron security camera DVRs. www.cctvcamerapros.com/Security-Camera-DVRs-s/1467.htm The video was captured from the 4K HDMI output of the DVR.

Good point. Also if you are using digital zoom.
Hi kurt do you think 4mp IP camera by dahua are better than 5mp coax? Do Ip cameras have better quality video than coax type ?

@CCTV Camera Pros thanks for that. On ip cameras what's the best FPS setting and does it depend on the broadband speed ?
@@wr57tlr96 Our Viewtron IP cameras support 30 FPS and some support 60 FPS. It does not have any dependency on your Internet connection speed.

No. It is not possible to simple replace a 3.6mm lens with a 360 degree fisheye lens. You need to buy a specialized 180 camera.
Very helpful! I got a quote locally for system and install and was wondering why they chose 4MP vs 8MP (or 4K).
Glad you found it helpful!

Kurt, We highly recommend 4K resolution TVs / monitors for both 4K and 4mp cameras. 1080p will display all of them but at the lower resolution.
