So far I only have one of the 5 up. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe My son ran out of time, with motion detector etc. I have it over my garage door. It works great. Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.
It's always advised to have a higher upload speed no matter the recorder. You can of course adjust the bitrate if you have a lower upload speed, or use the dual stream option on most recorders- This means record locally in a high resolution and transmit in a lower resolution. This overcomes the problem of slow upload speed. Good luck, I hope this helps.
I can extract number plate info on my Annke Analogue DVR system, mine has a alarm trigger menu so I can locate files easily when something triggers the cameras, it is easy to edit the file size so I can also copy these files to a usb stick if needed to hand to the police, the dvr still plugs in to the internet for viewing online or cloud storage, analogue is usualy better in weak internet signal areas as it provides a better quality image 24/7 in 1080p. Most analogue systems support at least two IP cameras and 6 analogue cameras they also come with colour cameras remote 360 degree cameras and wired cameras. The night vision is amazing quality in colour. they have human and vechicle detection settings and sensativity adjustment to, most of which is ample for most households. its not true that you cannot extract the data from the video files on an annalogue recording in fact it simplifies things by compressing each image file so that it can be coppied to a usb stick in seconds. its is worth noting that coaxial and power also carries sound to. The analogue systems support both analogue and IP cameras where as the IP systems only support IP cameras so you have access to almost any type of cctv camera you wish to use on your system often making it cheaper to replace or upgrade your cameras when you need to. Ip cameras also overload your internet download bandwith sometimes slowing it down to a crawl particularly when a loit of people are trying to stream video or play games and many youtubers warn of this happening Annalogue systems wont do this if you record 24/7 and dont connect the dvr to the internet, who wants to be on their phone all day checking in on the house? let the dvr take the strain and stop worying its all being recorded. unless you have pets you want to check up on with internbal cameras its just another waste of time and another level of stress to worry about, better to leave the dvr to record knowing if anything happens its going to be covered by your cctv system.
I've been binge watching a bunch of videos on different types of cameras and stuff. After watching about 20 videos before this one, I wish I found this one first because that would have saved me a lot of time. Haha.
Analogue CCTVs formed the basis of East Germany's centralised switched mass surveillance network. It was connected to Stasi control centres via mechanical switches and in this way Stasi could track the motion lines of people, not just democratic activists, all across the country. Korea adopted this system in digital form and is connected to China's Skynet.
I knew that at least one _somebody_ in the comments section wouldn't let me down. _"4K 1080p"_ ?!? What is that, like, *giga tera peta 4 million p definition* or something??
Analog cctv can use video balun for make easy installation, or can use cctv extender over fiber-optic for more distance and installation. And also ip camera can use converter utp to Fiber Optic for more distance, or use poe repeater (just information from me for sharing)
if you have off grid power, then analogue cctv is the way to go. where as IP is out of your control in a grid down event or having local control ie you are the boss
Thanks for excellent way of explaining all the content. i use all your video to train my staff. everything make so much more sense to them the way you explain everything. Well done.
Great video.....missed the most important part between the 2 Power cuts..defulting ip addresses when on switches and not knowing password to the ip camera password as installed by someone else and can't connect to it now Analogue....none of this matters
Wonderful review Very clear explanation Now I understand the real difference And I have a clear vision on what to buy for my house surveillance system Thanks
Analog video is generally SMOOTHER, becouse it's not converting and transmitting the image digitally and this feature is much pleasent if you want to record some events with these kind of cameras. Of course... The qualitty of the analog camera and even the quality of the DVR counts, but if you've qualitty in the analog video system, the quality of the videos will mostly, allways, be better than IP video...
Sorry however a lot of your data is outdated or just Plain wrong.. Cat5E or Any Cat cable is limited to 300 feet. I am sorry but 250meter is plain wrong. IEEE 802.3af and at max is 100meter or 328ish feet. Also my DVR Supports Long Distance Signal Transmission up to 2296 ft. Sure I will have to mid stream inject power. LOL Google Nest or Ring as being Big camera company only have IP lol.. I know this video is 5 years old but this data is Wrong. I have an Analog LRP I have an IP one as well. I have AI PTZ 2014 camera from Samsung that has features that even high Priced IP AI PTZ don't even offer.. I mean they might offer some. But one feature I have yet to find in an IP PTZ camera is the ability to setup a Preset in B/W and or Color don't matter time of day. I setup for B/W at preset 1 it will display Preset 1 in B/W even if mid sunny day. I can setup Color at night to a camera that don't have IR or white leds. The camera can see perfect as long as it is going to a preset area that has good amount of light. Ability to us Alarm in and outs with numbers that no IP camera offers. Also Easier to setup LOL Yeah I don't think so LOL My Analog PTZ is anything but easy to setup. Have to go into menus out of menus and into settings and make inside camera settings for RS-485 and many more things. DVR is yes easier to setup because there is 1 place 1 IP address and doing a Reset back to factory your DVR can be setup recording with Motion in place in less then 5 minutes. Analog can't have Remote LOL What CMS aka Camera Management System *Service* (VMS(Video Management Software)) 16ch DVR reset and back up in less then 30min even having to setup all PTZ channels to have the right RS-485 info if required seeing I have many cameras that use UTC format aka CVI 2.0 CVI 3.0 TVI and others. Also Audio over Coax on some of my cameras as far back as 720P PTZ and UTC. Also have 5 year plus SMD AKA AI DVR. Yeah sure I own 10 NVRs and 7 DVRs but still DVRs are much faster and have some better features where Not all IP cameras are H.265 however on my DVR All my cameras even VERY OLD 480TVL cameras are running H.265 with no issues with video..
Analogue cameras over Cat5e cable is my personal preference. When required for higher quality simply change out the camera and the wiring is already there.
After watching this I decided to go analog hikvision colorvu 8 camera system for home, literally half the price vs digital and I am not sure I would see any benefit for my application by going IP based
Thank you for your feedback, please let us know if there's any other videos you would like to see. How to run a CCTV business, Choosing a CCTV cameras or anything else, please let us know.
Does the IP camera system put a load on the bandwidth on your internet service? If having 8 or more cameras I can imagine it would create a load. Also do IP cameras go down when the internet goes down?
Only if you are constantly streaming it remotely (or locally for that matter). As a standalone NVR, it should be fine and no, the IP cameras don't go down when the internet goes down. The good thing about IP cameras with onboard SD card storage, is that if the cable goes down, it can still record locally which actually gives you a much higher level of security.
Hi Faisal, yes it's totally possible depending on the NVR, they will have a High powered LAN port. That allows you to go 250metres but the bandwith will often drop to 10MBPs instead of 100 or Giga. Due to this, you will have to reduce the resolution of the camera to 2-4Megapixel and it will work fine. You can go beyond this (1KM for example), however, you will have to use additional Ip boosters (I forget the technical name) such as Veracity to go to 1KM.
Can you please advise, I would like an external camera, powered from internal, to view and record over a number of days, able to re-write, recording to internal drive, ie once fitted at height outside, would not need to access again. Any recommendations
If it's just one camera, then an IP camera with build in SD card storage or cloud storage would be a great choice as you wouldn't need a separate recorder.

I have a Speco TH series DVR/NVR. It was Surplus from a casino. Old technology today, but was top-of-the-line 10 years ago. I would like to use IP cameras. The NVR captures in digital H264, where the analog captures in MPEG4 video. DVR actually has to compress the video and then change it to digital to write it to the hard drive. The IP cameras simply write the data to the hard drive as it comes in. Unfortunately all the new IP cameras have encrypted Technologies that the NVR cannot understand. I'm wondering what kind of IP cameras I can get with this old NVR? The system uses embedded Linux operating system. The manufacturer wants to sell new systems and doesn't want to upgrade the Linux to the new H265 compression. But because it's linux wonder if any hackers can do software upgrades. Or if the cameras are h265, then you will just need a h265 reader, from the hard drive.

IP camera can be wired 250 meters. I curios I have not tried that far without using a POE extender in the middle. What type of UTP are you referring to?
well its now 2020 n everything has bein updated or upgraged .....i just bought swann security cam 2x kits and its awsome ...has everything you need to set it up , i paid just under 300 bucks but dam worth it ...gonna buy couple more cam in futre then have 4 which is fckin pleanty ...lol who the fck needs 16 some cams .
also why you didn't mentioned about the usage of network bandwidth by IP cameras causing to slowing down the network by comparing it to HD analog cameras. when I can have the same 8.0MP resolution why I need to go with IP also doesn't need any technical knowledge at all in fact is a cheaper solution in regard to cabling.

Thanks for the video. It's really an eye opener..,, simplified
Thank you, very usefull!!
Good basic overview of both systems, but not enough info to install a do it yourself whole house 5 or 6 cameras to integrate with your iPhone .
Hope to have some more videos soon.
Some people can't be satisfied. Be thankful dude put out any information. You can read a book if you like..

HI. Can i use one fiber cable in a scenario where Point A has 8 ip camera ( connected with 8port Poe switch) and Point B has the NVR?
Yes of course you can.
How do you get 250m on CAT5e or 6. Wasn't 100m the limit
perfect review
IP is better than Analogue. That's all you need to know. POE is far superior over RG59/power.
Try telling that to my Dad🙄

250 meter ?? Cat 6?? How ??
250 X 3 = 750 feet?
Cat 6 should not be used for more than 250 feet (max is 300 feet) or 80-90 meters (max is 100 meters).
Hi Faisal, yes it's totally possible depending on the NVR, they will have a High powered LAN port. That allows you to go 250metres but the bandwith will often drop to 10MBPs instead of 100 or Giga. even the motorized verifocal 2.8-12mm or fixed lens will do the something and don't need any useless sd card when you are recording on your hard drive
