I'm doing this flight alone in 2 weeks but with an added flight from Manchester to Heathrow. How mad am I on a scale of 1-10? really hoping I don't regret my choices. I'm going over to LA briefly for the horse racing breeders cup at Santa Anita. Added to the potential drama, I've not flown in 10 years, and I've certainly never flown alone lol

@@ALifeintheParks Thanks mate. Any advice for mobile data whilst there? I'm set up for the o2 international bolt-on for 6 quid a day but I'm concerned about this 2mbps limit they put on it. Sounds useless. What did you do for data whilst you were there?

I believe this is what I had: www.o2.co.uk/international/travel-inclusive-zone but check with them as they may be able to switch your tariff for a month or 2 which may be cheaper.

Have you ever considered visiting the Queen Mary down in Long Beach? She's a historic British ocean liner, among the largest and fastest ships in the world in her time, and served reliably from 1936 until 1967. This included service as a troop ship in the second world war, where she broke the world record for the most people on a single ship - 16,600 troops on a voyage from Sydney to Southampton. In recent years, her American operators have encountered hardships, even filing for bankruptcy in 2020. In 2023, she reopened fully to the public following still ongoing extensive repairs and renovations. The ship is genuinely a sight to behold, and I believe now they're running package holiday stays aboard the ship.

It was a bit of a bun fight at the end of boarding as it was a full flight. Definitely get on early if you have seats at the back.

The flight was great for the price and I wasn’t expecting much more than what was on offer. I’d definitely upgrade on long haul flights if possible.

“Nice” vlog! Great flight deal. I miss the days of beef or chicken. When I was a kid we once flew on Eastern Airlines from NY to FL. I miss free airline meals.
We overheard the crew discussing it and that many people don’t eat beef which was great to switch out because it’s expensive.
Wasn’t Eastern Airlines one of the early WDW sponsors?

What an amazing deal - WOW!! So happy you finally got to go on this trip to LA! Wow you really weren't joking about the back of the plane haha! SO awesome you got food on your flight! I usually get a tiny glass of soda on our flights LOL. Too bad the quality of the food has deteriorated though. Those chocolates look lovely too! Definitely hard to get comfortable on long flights like that :( sorry to hear that you had a hard time sleeping too! That's cute that they provide afternoon tea! I know they aren't super fancy but I'm fascinated they provide that on a plane haha so cool. What an awesome deal you got! That's awesome! Many thanks, I’m getting there albeit slowly. It was an incredible price to fly transatlantic, Virgin are a decent enough carrier but look out for those deals.
Travelling that route in Feb ‘25 but worried as I’m 6’5” and concerned about space
@@WiresFanDrew Hey, I’m 6ft and while it wasn’t a particularly comfortable flight but it was ok. Hopefully you will be able to get some rest and not be too cramped.
Wow £279? yes i was meant to go Florida then as well everything was also booked fuming wasn't the word gutted. Good video BTW
It was an awful time but thankfully things are pretty much back to normal.
If you still looking at going to Florida regularly check prices are there are still good deals to be had.

The cheap flight helped out as America is very expensive these days. Every day things like food and drinks have really increased in price, I would say by 30% since 2019.

Wow what an amazing price for your flight! Glad Heathrow wasn't a nightmare for you and you got through easy. I don't know if I've ever seen wine in a can before. We flew Virgin upper class in September and actually thought the food choices up there were a bit limited as well. That is quite a long flight! Nice that Virgin gave you so many flight miles from your Miami flight
I’m surprised that you had limited choices in Upper, usually they have a decent selection.
I think the wine in a can is so they can say they’re cutting down on plastic, same as the cardboard meal boxes.

Hi, it was booked with Dollar but via Netflights because it was cheaper than going direct.
