Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
Hope you guys like the video! Here's a playlist that will show you how to teach your dog all of the basics in order as well as how to resolve common behavior issues! Thank you! ruclips.net/p/PLMssKIjsDxXmMGypWsr8u-yGOUSoPoozb
there is no need to fed the dog scraps. First, many things we eat are no good for dogs (salt, sugar, onion, garlic...). The dog can just learn you dont give food from the table. Specially if you fed the dog treats while learning (which means the dog eats more than from the bowl), will learn to wait for treats, and can learn to beg not around the table because it simply does not work. In fact, any food you give to the dog is an opportunity to teach them something. You come with the bowl full of food: ask sit or lay down, ask give me paw, ask whatever, and then give the food. You bring a bone: ask your dog to go his crate and lay down, wait, come, and give the bone. That's the best way to go.
+Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution I just realised that you have stopped using the clicker in your videos. I am still using the clicker but I would love to be able to phase it out of my training... maybe a next video idea could be to learn how to phase out the clicker? And when is your book coming out by the way?
+Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution love this kind of video you did, with insights about dog's nature and behaviour more than a "how to" kind of thing. very interesting
Hi Zak, my life is pretty difficult at the moment and i wish i could own a dog. Just wanted to say that watching your videos cheers me up alot so thank you for that. All the best.
MykaAnnProductions to lessen the crieng put an old shirt near the crate if you dont want it destroyed so they can smell you and have less anxiety just got an shiba inu pup and she started crieng when in the crate for the first time but with the shirt there its alot less
Great video, Zak! LOL when Miss May ran off with the chicken! Smart dog. Spinning would come in handy in training your pup to clear her feet when coming in the door.
This is great! I'm having my daughters (age 12 and 9) watch some of your videos to help with our new puppy. They are so excited to help train her but they don't know how.Tthis will help us all succeed with our new Aussie, Sunny! I also appreciate how you tell the parents it's their responsibility to teach the dog not to bite the kids. I always thought each person had to establish their own dominance to the dog, but thanks to your videos I realize this is a myth and I'm able to take ownership of eliminating Sunny's puppy biting for our whole family.
Thank you for another great video, Zak. I love how you'll show us some of the bloopers that happen while training. They do happen and I think showing us that it happens and it's not something to go all bonkers over is great.
Ms. May has the same habits and personality as my 6 mo. old GSP, Nash. We live on a huge farm in Georgia, and he loves to run around...sometimes further than I'm comfortable with and I get very nervous that he's going to stumble on a bee or snake. He has a totally different attitude outside vs. inside. I just don't want him to wander off from home and give me a heart attack. Zak-- I'm finding your videos very helpful ..communication is KEY. My goal is to understand him and vice versa...but also let him know I'm the alpha. He knows he has me wrapped around his paw and I really would like to make my role very clear NOW.
Zak is my hero he is a really good dog trainer he is the real deal and miss Mae is a beautiful dog and is too at listening to her owners and Zak his videos are the best petflow rocks
I have been binge watching all your videos, after subscribing to you just today! This is because I'm going to get an eight week old female puppy, and although I know a lot, I wanted to refresh my memory and see what works for other people. This really helped, thankyou! Will definitely be buying your book!
My wife and I just got a pitbull puppy about a couple weeks ago (will be 8 weeks old this Saturday). Hoping the techniques learned from these videos will bring good results. How's yours doing a year later?
Will we ever see you working with a dog that has a bite history? Before, during & after? I think 401,925 people would benefit greatly from it along with give more proof & demonstrations that methods that don't include aversive tools can be used for serious cases as well.
I love your videos, Zak!! I have a Labrador, she's 4 months old and I'm having trouble making her listen to me and obbeying, but I think this will help, I'll keep watching your videos. Thanks so much
Loved this video. Without Zak's teachings as I was considering getting a dog (never had one before), I would've assumed yelling to correct was the thing to do. I love that communication and guidance are the thing, not domination. I love my little shelter guy and it's only been two months, and I want him to feel like he's safe and loved. Thank you so much, Zak. I also have your audiobook! :D
One of the best things I ever did was to start wordless training sessions with my dog because I had to convey my message with my body and my dog could focus better in silence and when I do speak (yes good job!) It comes off super loud and clear despite not being loud at all. :)
I had a GSP. She was very receptive and eager to learn. Sometimes we'd teach too many tricks at the one time and she would struggle to remember what each one meant so she'd quickly do all the tricks until she got the right one to get a treat 😂😂. Bless her.
any other channel I would skip the product promos, but I actually enjoy watching them in your videos because of your brightness, positivity, and all the dog shots lol. it all seems to effortlessly work in your favor!! great videos, you are endlessly deserving of abundance. remember to have fun with it. thanks for all you do, that which we are aware of and that which we are not!!!
You have such great presence on camera! I am studying your videos as I prepare to add a mini doodle to our family next week. I have had several beloved dogs in my lifetime and watching your presentations is teaching me so much that I never knew. Thanks so much. I am hoping to train this new little one to serve as a therapy dog to take to the new children's hospital that is just being built in our area so it is important that she be well-mannered and responsive to me in a positive way. You are building my confidence that I can achieve this goal.
"That's my chicken! I need it to train you!" Dogs are the best. I'm getting one in five weeks or so, so these videos are a big help for me to study so that I'll know what to do
Zak George! I have watched soooo many of your videos and applied ALOT of your methods and they REALLY work!!! my dog has responded so well to your training methods and it gets me more excited to train him! thank you so much for making these videos available!n
Zak your videos are always super, super special. So many thanks. It gives me the encouragement I need to help my cute funny rescue. Have not been able to keep him from trying to bite men though. He bite once and is always ready for his next taste. Otherwise (pretty much) adorable and loved by many....
Thank you very much for saying that dogs understand a lot of words. Short commands are great communicating with young puppies. Just like human babies complicated communication is too much. I have been called out about communicating with my in a conversation style. People saying that my dog is incapable of understanding me. I'm not saying I expect my dog to understand me in a way a human can but I've noticed if I want my dogs to be interested and alert to what I want short commands bore them. Eg. My dogs had a bad habit of jumping against our back fence and barking up a storm. Feeling frustrated trying to break them of the habit I jokingly said stay away from the fence or no left overs. To my shock they shied away from the fence. So I continued to keep my promise. If they behaved all day they got small amounts of left over vegetables we as a family had for dinner. If they didn't they got only dog food. This worked remarkably well. Honestly I experiment all the time with how communicate with them and they continuously surprise me.
Omg when he took the chicken I died! Haha so cute The training videos help a lot I have a 7 month old springer spaniel and she's my first dog. She's a big handful but worth it. Any tips on stopping excited wees? I usually try to take her outside before someone comes over. But as I work from home there's lots of people and sometimes they will come early and then it happens. Her toilet training is perfect and she takes herself thru the doggy door. We took her to a cafe and as soon as we left she went outside on the footpath but she held it when she knew she had to. So it's just excitement! And sometimes we won't acknowledge her and she still gets too excited
Hey i have a terrier , she is really smart but sometimes when i teach her something new and try to ask her to do an old trick . She will do the new taught tricks . So i taught her to back up , she can do backup whatever way i can get her to go . We still have to add distance but for now it's a good start . She got the hang of it in 3 weeks . So now i asked her for a sit , as that's quite easy . But instead of sitting she backed up . She knows sit as every day i tell her to sit atleast once . I think it could be because she sits for a treat but now she is doing it for back up . Or i could just re train her to sit . And wean her off treats
I love your videos. Your wisdom is very understandable and has helped me very much. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. -Pr0phet
Thanks alot Zak, Am watching your videos from Rwanda, Africa. I have a 2 months old African, German Shepherd breed puppy so far so good but he poops and pees everywhere potty training is so hard for me, most of the time am at work even during the weekends so really don`t have much time for training. How would you advise ? Would like to record and share his video one day Thumbs up for the good job.
LOL... when the intro ended..just for a second i thougt it was aHUGHE spider running towards you guys.. until i saw it was the shadow of your drone.. :P
we won't all get our dog food delivered. I tried setting pet flow up. but nope they don't ship to Alaska. Amazon is still the winner. Thanks for the videos though!
Training a dog is easy. Just make sure you're tethered to the dog for every waking moment of both of your lives, and make sure you have an endless amount of treats constantly on hand at all times. ;)
I have a 12yr old Maltese, she doesn't listen to me at all, I only got her when she was 10. She has no social skills towards dogs, but, she's great with cats and small things. My mum booked her in for training but the people haven't rung her back yet, it would really help if you did something on how to teach old, bratty dogs new tricks
Do you have a video on how to handle pets with separation anxiety? When we leave for any extended amount of time, even if we have a dog sitter, our two dogs go insane. We have lost two couches to our border collie mix!
Hey zack im 14 and I live in Mauritius I love your videos and have been training my first dog an australian shepheard following your philosophy on dog training by communication . The only trick that I have not been able to achieve eventhough you made a video a long time ago is SHAKE. My dog won't lift his paw up simply by touching the back of the leg and this is a trick I would love to teach my 4 months old puppy. could you make another video on this content ✌️
I’d like to see a video on how to train a hyperactive Tenterfield terrier who just hates being on a leash, seems to be scared of going outside and howls all night to get out of the bedroom he’s in with his owner all night. Trying to train him at 4 months but he’s not getting enough exercise with his family he lives with.
Zak, could you do another video on jumping with this dog? I do have a german shorthaired pointer as well (10 months) and she just loves to jump every time she is a little bit hyper. Especially when my boyfriend or I come home. (and she is only alone at home for maybe 10-20 minutes after the guy from the daycare dropped her)
Weve had a new shelter dog for about 3 weeks now. He has been the sweetest perfect little dog until today when he went nuts on a family member who he thought got to close to a new Buffalo bone I had just given him...he really scared us. Can you PLEASE do a video addressing this kind of behavior & what to do about it?
I had an adorable black Lab. He knew more than just few words; I could have a conversation with him. He knew when I was sad, joyous, proud, busy, exhausted, etc., and acted accordingly. One statement in this video I disagree with. One must never stare too long at a dog. It makes them nervous, belligerent and angry. Look at them, but attach it to talk, play, petting.
What kind of adjustments do you have to make for dogs who are more difficult in some way? For instance, I have a beagle and it seems that if he smells food or another animal it doesn't matter what I do, he still is going to run toward that newer, more exciting thing. Will I always need to keep him on leash or is there something I can do to get him to ignore whatever he finds more interesting and come back to me instead?
Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! "That's my chicken! I need it to train you"
I died of laughter
Exactly
What
I came for this comment 😂
The dog grew tired of following instructions for a single piece of treat and decided to snatch the whole bag instead :D

How do you train your dog to not beg?
+Love& Peace ignore your dog when he/she is begging. Will understand that begging does not work.
there is no need to fed the dog scraps. First, many things we eat are no good for dogs (salt, sugar, onion, garlic...). The dog can just learn you dont give food from the table. Great video, Zak! LOL when Miss May ran off with the chicken! Smart dog. Spinning would come in handy in training your pup to clear her feet when coming in the door.
+Joy Victory Like that idea of using spin to clean paws off at the door!
That is a really good point about spin! I had not even thought about that :) The chicken stealing was even funnier in real life LOL!
I use "Sit and shake" so I can wipe her paws, then wipe the rear paws while she sits. She is happy to follow commands.

Zak, could you do another video on jumping with this dog? I do have a german shorthaired pointer as well (10 months) and she just loves to jump every time she is a little bit hyper. Especially when my boyfriend or I come home. (and she is only alone at home for maybe 10-20 minutes after the guy from the daycare dropped her)
lol. I love that she stole the chicken. That's totally something my dog would try to do and has tried to do.
Thanks so much now my husky Braxton can listen and give me eye contact THANks IS SO MUCH!!
I can imagine him running around screaming "NO! NO! NO MY CHICKEN, GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE B***H" when he was commentating hahaha
Just joking the videos are great love them :)
Great advice!
Do you give people private lessons? I have an Irish setter and I would like for her to learn while she is young
do you have a video on what kind of treats you can use for puppy training?
I have one of these dogs but a
It is a puppy and its so cute
As usual very helpful. Thank you!
I LOVE YOU DOG!!
