Just swapped a 1.95 inch with a 2.4inch wide tyre on a narrow rim. It was a bit tough at the start, but i layed the wheel on my lap to set the bead of the tyre into the rim and after that it worked like a charm
My tire is so tight around my rim, it's such a pain in the ass to change! I was getting my tire lever between the tire and rim, i pushed on it and the tire lever went flying trough my room!
Yeah some rim and tire combos are a tight fit, most rims curve down toward the center, get as much air out as you can and push both beads of the tire to the middle of the rim, it will help the tire sit more loose on the rim and help get the lever under the bead, I hope it helps. I know some aren't designed the best.
wow ive been biking for about a year and ive just started bmx and today was my first time changing a tire it took me 1 hour im just seeing how others do it
Mike Montes if you get wider tires it’s better to get a bigger tube. It won’t have to stretch as much to fill the tire. You can use the other tubes they just stretch more and that makes them more likely to be punctured
Hey man I have a mafia bomma, my front tyre made it seem like it had a Puncture but after all the tests theirs no sign of a puncture at all, please help, very confused!
Yeah I had to hit up my local bike shop to help me out on my double wall bmx rim I never knew that it's a little bit harder to put tire on a double wall I'm so used to single wall but when I finally took it to the bike shop he got it on like nothing even without the tire lever he said sometimes you have to muscle it on but if I had Tire lever will that make it more easier for me so I don't really have to muscle it on.
I'll be honest, I haven't seen a venom in awhile and they've been produced for years so I doubt each year model has the same most likely they are, 15mm, 17mm or 19mm. Thanks for watching and feel free to ask any questions.
Here at Kings Ride we only sell core bmx brands, brands that only make or main focus is bmx when it comes to bike, so GT isn't a brand we carry, I'm positive tho its a decent bike to start on and you can always get nicer parts for it. Hit our site kingsrideshop.com or if you have any questions on what parts will fit your GT give us a call. Keep riding..
The only problem with putting washers on the inside is the spacing between the forks is equal to the spacing to the outside of the hub lock nuts. But you can flex the fork a little and add washers if it makes you more comfortable and you are still able to get the wheel on the fork.
I have a question my rims are 20x25 and the tires I ride right now are 20x2.125 I want to get bigger/fatter tires without changing my rims what's the fatter/bigger tires I can get to fit on my rims?l.
Not sure what you mean by your rims are 20x25.. but your rims fit any tire with a 406 ISO diameter..meaning you can put a 20x1.75 all the way up t0 a 20x2.5 onto the rim, what you should be concerned with is if your frame and fork have the clearance for the wider tire and if your rim is extremely narrow (which i doubt) the tire's sidewall may flex and fold over easier. Other than that pick up some wider tires and enjoy.
Yes tires are designed to fit the diameter of the rim. If you have questions about what size tire fits your rim you should contact your local bike shop
Just tried replacing a popped tube in my kids redline. 1st replacement would not hold air, learned about the inner tube protectors. Found it was torn and therefore popped the new tube. Second attempt pinched the tube with iron. Should have just taken it to the damn bike center!
To make a tire that's resistant to flats. Take old tube, cut nipple off, then cut it down the middle. Layer old tube inside tire or around new tube. Inflate slowly, as you start to inflate rotate tire and squeeze the tire to help get the extra layer the old tube to sit properly inside. A tire pumped up to high air pressure is more resistant to flats. A lower psi will make manuals easier. If you really want indestructible tire take old extremely bald smaller tire layer that inside of new bigger tire instead of extra tube. Bald 1.75 tire inside new 2.2 tire. Tire inside a tire can be difficult to mount but it can be done. Whike inflating again go slow rotate tire and squeeze around to be help get proper bead to rim circumference. CMM ❤
yeah so the first number 20" means the inflated diameter of the tire is about 20" across, this can vary but doesn't matter too much. The second number is the inflated width of the tire, how wide it is. Inner tubes usually fit a range of tires widths, that's why the box usually says 20x1.95-2.125". basically saying it fits a tire from 1.95 inches wide to 2.125 inches wide. Tubes stretch like a ballon to fill space so even if they are not exact on the box, if they are close they should work.
doesnt work for me, plastic just bends then snaps. Im tryibg to get the Valor tires off, which doesnt help but still. Good video though im just frustrated aha
Sorry for the late reply, You should be able to install any tire like that however some are a tighter fit than others. Try to use the tire levers to help pry the tire onto the rim..careful not to pinch the tube. Remember only one side of the tire can be installed at a time. If you can't take it to a shop and get some hand on help.
Some Rim and Tire combinations are more difficult than others. I would make sure one side of the tire goes on at a time, the second is to be sure the bead of the tire sits in the deepest area of the rim on the opposing side from where you are trying to install the tire. Some dish soap may help as well.
What if the bead is harder to get of least night it took my an hour just to take a tire of and put it on a double wall rim and take it off ohh cool I just figured out my rim is nice nvm 😂😂😂
Dudes like you would be surprised how many people struggle with it, AKA me looking up the video cuz I can't get my chain off

Thank you so much, this is our first time ever changing a tire. We did it - from a single mom
Stoked to hear it helped you! Thank you

Ahhhhh thank you! I survived my 8 year olds redline rear tire change. I feel like a hero. But you are the real mvp.
HAHA Glad it helped! Survival is always key..should of used that line in the video.
That was perfect thanks! Haven't changed a tire for years, now changed 2 in half an hour!
Thank you you helped me so much I thought it would take hours but with this video it only took about 30 mins for both tires
This was very helpful...I did it....with no problems.....Thank you!!

Will i get more flats if i have skrached the rim multipule times while trying this?
i currently have a 1.95 tire. Would i have problems changing to 2.25? Thanks

Proper tools and good technique go a long ways to helping get any job done. Little practice helps too.
This video was great thank you. Any idea what size spanner for a diamondback venom?

Ive got one too
Thanks for the video man I hate having to remove the rear wheel just to replace an inner tube
Yeah it's a bit more work, hopefully this made it a bit less painful.
hey man i got a gt preformance 2017 you think its any good?

kingsrideshop what parts would you recommend me to upgrade?
If I don't have a tire lever what else can I use, ( would a screw driver work)
I used a flat screwdriver you could also use a spoon if you want
Ive used spoons, but had to throw them away afterward.
What happen to the days of only putting some air and making sure there wasn’t any bounce in the tire to see if it was balanced
Can i ask you what size the tires and wheels?
do the washers go on the inside or outside
Washers go on the outside of the frame.
The only problem with putting washers on the inside is the spacing between the forks is equal to the spacing to the outside of the hub lock nuts. But you can flex the fork a little and add washers if it makes you more comfortable and you are still able to get the wheel on the fork.
Could I fit a 1.95 on a 1.75,because I'm kinda worried if it will pop or explode?
Yeah shouldn't be a problem
Could you do an alternate video on how to go about making an appointment at a bike shop to have them change the tire for you?
this guide was so helpful made it a 5minute work
You saved me 20$ thanks

I have a question my rims are 20x25 and the tires I ride right now are 20x2.125 I want to get bigger/fatter tires without changing my rims what's the fatter/bigger tires I can get to fit on my rims?l.

this is a great video. Do those remover tools scratch the rim edge?
Those are made by Park Tools for bicycles, they don't scratch the rim when used properly.. all in the technique. Thanks for the kind words!
Hey is it fine if I use the opposite side of a spoon to take out the tire please reply

could you make another video change the tire and tube on bmx skyway tuff mags? I think it's a diff way and a lot of trick to fit in.
It's still the same way.
I struggle with getting my back tire on straight
if my stock tires are thin, do I need to buy new rims in order to get fatter tires ? or will 2.5's or 2.4's fit on it regardless
You won't need new rims, the wider tires will fit the rims, just make sure your frame and fork have the room to clear the bigger tire.
kingsrideshop good looks bro appreciate it
do you have to mach your tire with your rim size?
Yes tires are designed to fit the diameter of the rim. If you have questions about what size tire fits your rim you should contact your local bike shop
idk what I did wrong but now I don’t know how to put the chain back even tho I just put it to the side

what About If You dont Have a tier lever.
I'd always recommend using the right tool for the job. Tire levers are inexpensive, around $4 a set.
loved it
