No...simple no. He has obsessions, need to hunt even, he will find another one that catches his eyes. He needs to stalk and kill, he is sick, only solution is being locked up or dead. He was like this from episode 1, but the series is from his eyes. Similar as Lolita, view from sick mind. He is only going to be more dangerous now, because he did not accepted himself until now, now he will not even spare anyone. If he does, he will do it for fun, same as he did with Nadia, remember when he said that he is excited to see what she is able to do with her potential, he is intrigued by her not feeling like he spared her, he is making a game, it is fun for him.

I can see a parallel likeness between Joe and Arthur Fleck from Joker(Joachim phoenix version), their characters are so alike that I’m waiting for Joe to wake up in the cage and realise it was all just a dream within a dream, Mr Mooney is still alive and torturing him which is why his only escape is his mind.. now that would be an insane ending for the entire series.. none of it being real, all the characters are from the books scattered all around him.. and he is still the good Joe(or his turned into Jekyll/Hyde) because the cage is always there front and centre.. anyhoo just some ideas.. at the heart of it we never really know if he can be rehabilitated, it depends on the narrative, storyline and psychopathy..

I think Joe was doomed from the start. Having the traumatic upbringing he had and no proper clinical/psychiatric help almost made him destined to had severe mental health issues. And being with Kate will not make him "better", in time he will get bored of her and have a wondering eye for someone else. Or think that she is the real "bad" person in the relationship and do away with her. Regardless, Joe will stay with these habits until the day he dies or gets caught.

Joe has changed so much this season. I love it part 1 had most people thinking he was a better person all of a sudden only to show in part 2 that he’s far worse than he’s ever been. The scene where he breaks mariannes arm and just completely ignores her when she’s captive. And the final scene was weird in how calm and collected he seemed framing Nadia.

Penn Badgley directed some episodes in this season! I think his greatest critique for the show is that the writers make Joe look too charming and just misunderstood. They wanted Penn to act less creepier to which he would say that how can Joe not be creepy while stalking and killing people 😅 So I guess it was kind of Penn’s moment to grow Joe’s character into what he truly is. A psychopath.

I did find it strange that in part 1 he was completely tame all of a sudden, the victim of a stalker and accused of murder when he was allegedly innocent. I didn't really buy it but then again, they made it seem as though he truly had done a complete 180. But with this show you really always have to expect the unexpected, and S4 part 2 absolutely smashed it.

Joe was the best of himself in season 3. He was clearing up for Love’s killings and he was only killing bad people which is of course bad. He even saved the teenager friend of Love. He never wanted to kill Love too. It was basically self defence. What i dont really understand is how come he deviated from the good path he was trying to follow. He literally killed anyone and everyone in season 4 who was a little threat to him. And like season 1 he didnt have any remorse for the people he was killing. In season one he didnt even blame himself for a sec for killing Beck. He tried to be better in seasons 2 and 3 but in season 4 that totally fell apart. I think season 5 will be narrated through Nadia or another influential character trying to punish Joe. This is because Joe is a totally lost cause now. Everyone knows that he will never go back. He will never commit suicide. And i dont believe he found love with Kate. He only found love with his evil side, which was growing through his horrible childhood experiences. Now he doesnt need to find love anymore. In season 5 he will kill like a mad man, be prepared!!

The series should have left it alone at the ending of season 3 (this post contains season 3 spoilers, since we're on a season 4 video).
He killed his wife who, at the time, was more of an unstable murderer compared to himself & he left his son with a couple he knew would treat his son well. He then went on a journey to search for Marienne & that would've been fine as a forever cat & mouse that didn't need any explanation.
The whole reason this series was successful was because the viewer was oddly on the side of the villain protagonist, it was intriguing.
The beginning of Season 4 part 2 has absolutely killed my enthusiasm for the ending because it's now like a lot of other shows.

The hitman that was sent after him took all the Quinn money, so I don't see how he could still send her funds. Even if she knew where to ask him for it, I doubt he sent a forwarding address. Unless he just let her think he was dead when he killed Love, but now that he is back she will know. She could tell, and it could make her a liability in the future.

Regardless how evil Joe has become his life is very sad because he’s never truly been loved like he should have he never had a father or mother love him truly that’s what he missed out on (not justifying him murdering countless people lol) but had he gotten loved properly we wouldn’t have the story that is joe. I’ve watched every season hoping he would change for the better each season but now that’s clearly gone just when you though he realized he’s the problem and tried to kill himself he becomes a true psychopath and accepts his serial killing lifestyle and now he’s almost unstoppable due to the money and power he’s attained being with Kate. Excited to see what happens in season 5 will it be joes ending? Let me know? I always wanted the ending for Joe to be him in prison getting interrogated on his entire life and what led to him being a serial killer that way they could dive deeper into his childhood

honestly I feel like Joe became how he is by choice. Some things he inherited but other things came form his resentment to what he can't have which became alot of entitlement trauma aside. every kill is for his personal benefit even when its for someone else its so he can tell himself he's doing something good

I think this character is definitely a product of everything that has happened in his life he's been moulded this way and he doesn't know any different and when the woman he "loves" recoil from him I don't think he really knows why because to him it was what he was made to do it's definitely going to be interesting to see what happens with Kate

If Joe had sought out help early on -- before he got involved with Candace or Beck -- maybe there would be hope for him. But it's too late now. Way too late.

If you call Joe in the early episodes an "ordinary guy" there is something wrong with you- he is anything but normal

Joe deserves to suffer 10x the amount of everyone he's hurt. He deserves to have Kate taken away from him like he's taken away every other girl from their families and loved ones. He deserves to be put down like the stray dog he is, with scorn and contempt. And Kate deserves all of this too. She's as bad if not worse than Love, because (as we know it right now) she's perfectly sane and willing to turn a blind eye and enable Joe like no one else has. And then has the nerve to call it "Keeping each other good." She really believes that she and Joe are good people when they're the worst. They're sick and beyond redemption.

So really this is mainly Mooney’s fault 😂 great analysis

Lool! Well, Mooney probably does contribute to it. If it wasn't for him then the cage wouldn't exist 😂

I think this essay is far too kind to Joe. It suggests that Joe is only now showing signs of erotomania when Joe has been showing this tendency all along when he begins his obsessions with women. He assumes there is more behind their actions then there really is. He follows them. He thinks they are sending him signals when they often times are not. So him taking it a step too far with Rhys is a natural progression. He didn't need to have a heightened moment of stress a la the end of season 4. He has been in that heightened level of stress for a LONG time.
Secondly, the discussion of Joe's redemptive piece being his caring is interesting. I would point out that that redemptive piece is long gone at the end of the season and Joe has made peace with that making him a far more cruel/evil person. There is no redemption for him. Often times, when Joe would frame people, he was going out of his way to frame people that were already dead OR committed some bad misdeed. I believe we are supposed to see Nadia as similar to Delilah and Elle and Paco. This lower class person trying to make a way in the world that Joe tries to protect (he reads her short story, he retrieves her letter and hides her affair). He empathizes with them. He sees himself in them. But in the end, Joe frames Nadia for the murder of Rhys. He basically turns on the thing that could have been viewed as his only redemptive characteristic this season. And he is fine with it. A lot of fans have turned on Joe this season, and THAT is the biggest reason why. This season was extremely dark.

Why do you think his mother took the blame for killing? She would still be arrested in this case. And we see her several years later with another son. So she got married and had a son very quickly. And it was shown that she willingly gave Joe away because she said she can't help him.
