I live on Galveston Island, and the Moody Mansion worked on needed structural repairs last year. Yeah, Moody Mansion has cold spots.

I haven't been to Galveston since I was a little girl back in the 60's. It was cool seeing all the houses and the ocean. I remember back in the day you could drive a car on the beach and park. We spent the night on that beach when I was little. Thanks for sharing this adventure.

Thank you for visiting Galveston! Lol.....I wish I'd have known you were going to be here in Galveston, as I would love to have shown you around town! There is so much interesting history here... you could've made several episodes! The old cemeteries are fascinating. Many more palatial Victorian homes built by families of historical importance to Texas, as well as Galveston. Train Museum....great for photo opps. The Flood of 1900 is said to be a big contributing factor of the ghost population. 1,000's of lives lost. The pirate Jean Lafitte camped out here. These are but a few points of interest & intrigue!
Word up for those interested in visiting The Island.....Come not only to enjoy the sun, sand & seafood, but the colorful history & the many opportunities to explore & learn about this little Texas Gem!

Portuguese man of war are also known as Blueys in Australia. I can confirm their sting hurts like a mofo. I can also confirm that that pain pales in significance to the major spinal surgery ive just had. Sooooo because i now have a 6-12 month recovery n learning to walk again ive started to rewatch all ur vids again!!! X peace n love xx
Hey! Welcome to Texas! You're just down the road from me. Well about an hour give or take lol. Galveston has so much history and ghosts. Im glad you're enjoying your trip. There's a ghost tour a friend and I went on some years back and it was great. She told us so many fascinating stories. One of this haunted mansion where a kid was being naughty and when he went to use the bathroom he pee'd on the wall on purpose. Well the "lady" (a ghost) of the house did not take too kindly to that and smacked him on the back of the head and he ran out screaming. Another one was of the orphan kids who died from the big storm. Where there's a convenient store now and it's haunted. Things get broken and moved all the time day or night. So many more stories too. If I can find the name of the tour guide I'll try to send it to you. 💜 have fun and stay safe 😊

You should stop at Old Mesilla NM in Las Cruces NM, it's a little town and a hotel near the plaza Church is haunted. Years ago the mother of a groom shot and killed her son and his wife on their wedding night, she did not like the bride, and they haunt the hotel and the restaurant.

I love Galveston its my go to relaxing vacation spot since we are only 3 to 3/12 hours away, we go all the time. Next time you should go to the Rainforest Cafe I think you would love it there another good spot you can try is America's Kitchen.

If y’all come back to Galveston, y’all should go to Salsa. They have great food and sometimes live music! And for spooky things go to The Galvez. The two top floors are very hunted 👻👺.

@ 10:54 I think b/c those cars don't get driven that much or at all is why they have the cars up on jacks. They do that so the tires don't get flat spots on them from setting in the same spot to long.

As children we used to pop them on the beach after spring tide. We called them blue bottles and yes their sting is pretty brutal !
If I lived my life in a place like that, I would come back to it in the afterlife as well.

So glad to see you guys went to the moody mansion it’s absolutely a beautiful place and yes very haunted lol at one time the moody family practically owned majority of galveston and till this day even many generations later they’re still pretty influential to galveston society if you guys ever come back please go to Hotel Galvez Room 501 is pretty much the main room but every room on the 5th floor has tons of activity lol

Galveston,one of my favorite places in the whole world! Talk about people dedicated to where they live! If loyalty to your hometown had a contest,Galveston would be crowned King! That seawall you mentioned at the beginning sequence on the beach,well the good citizens of Galveston built that! After a horrific surprise hurricane in the early 1900's swept away over one thousand townspeople,they decided that that wouldnt happen again. They shared in the work ,built the huge seawall,and literally raised the whole island almost 10 feet higher! They jacked up the houses and dredged the ocean and filled in the whole town! Thats why some of the older homes that have impressive wrought iron fences are so short! They couldnt raise the fences so they just filled them in. So those fences are actually 9 foot fences they just seem short because they are half buried! All in all,they havent had a recurrence of the 1900's horrific event. So it worked! Pretty amazing! Aaw the resilience of the human spirit,especially when its something they love. Galveston is loved,still.❤
