Here's another one for you. Check out Hubcap Grille Restaurant in the Strand district of Galveston. I went there a couple of years ago and talked to a bartender who asked me if I was alright. I had been looking toward their event center decorated in the Victorian era and saw apparitions of a man and woman, drinking champagne, dressed in Victorian clothes. They seemed to be asking me what had happened to them. I told her what I had seen and she said that made sense because that building in which their restaurant is located was used as a makeshift morgue just after the 1900 hurricane.

I was in Galveston in August of last year, I went to buy a six pack and sat were the historical marker of the orphanage asylum. Before I started to pop a can I heard a scream and thought some young hooligans were goofing off. When I try to open the bottle once again, I heard another scream and there was no one around and my car was the only one in at the seawall parking, next thing I know I saw a woman in old time clothing so I walked over to her direction and when I yelled "excuse me, ma'am you lost? Do you need help?" Then she disappeared. Yeah, I never dranked the beer and I bolted out of there.

I worked in the Uvalde, Texas Walmart and there are three ghosts there. The most persistent one reported is that of a little girl who is usually sighted during the Christmas season sitting in the toy department playing with toys, which were at least once found to be still there on the floor after the girl was no longer there. Also, there is an old man who is usually sighted near or in the
produce department quietly shopping. There also has been comments about an old woman ghost, but I don't know anything about her. I was told by one of the girls watching over the fitting rooms, they had an incident where they could hear noises like the typical rustling of an occupied fitting room, when they were certain there was nobody in there at the time.
I used to work in the deli, and I had three occurrences over an eight year period of things falling off from shelves or tables for no good reason, once for sure, without ANY possible explanation, at least a normal one.

I live in Galveston and this is a great mini documentary!! Thank you for representing this correctly and now taking it out of hand and making it something it isn’t!
The island is full of spirits because of the 1900 storm! I used to work in one of the first brick structures in Texas and on the islands it was build in 1859 the name is the mansion is The Ashton Villa. I used to work weekends in the carriage house (It is now the Galveston Island Visitors center.) And I worked all alone. I had some creepy occurrences happen to me and I also got a picture of a face. I’d love to talk more if you’re interested in listening.

Mr. Miller Hey fellow Islander! 😄 How are you doing after all this crazy weather we are having? 😅 Good I hope!
I love the interest in the paranormal side of Galveston!
I have a few stories of my own! I’ll share one of them with you. This is my first encounter in Ashton Villa. It was during the summer probably the summer I started at the visitors center! So this would be summer of 2011, My Nana was working at the visitors canter (Ashton Villas Carriage house) and she called me up and said they had the house open for viewing and it was the only day. So me being obsessed with Galveston’s history raced over to go look at it. I was super excited! I get there and she told me to go ahead and go look, so I make my way through the kitchen and into the ballroom. Now if you’ve ever been to Ashton villa or look up pictures of the Ashton Villas ballroom you will see a staircase and that staircase leads up to the second story and when you get to the second story there is a door to the right and that leads to the rooms of Ms. Bettie Brown and her sister Matilda’s room. The rooms are kept as the Ashton-Browns had them. It looks so pretty and Victorian. The beds you can tell are super old. They are made up so beautifully! I walked up to the bed in the first bedroom (the rooms are connected) and I saw that the sheets and bedding were pulled back and it looked as if someone sat there. Me being me I had to straighten it up and make it look neat again lol 🤦🏻‍♀️. I got done fixing the bed and walk into the other adjoining room and admire the beauty of the Victorian era. My daydreaming and admiration were disturbed when I heard what sounded like someone coming. I had a feeling rush over me that I needed to leave and as I turned around to walk out the door I entered from I looked at the bed I just made and it was messed up again like it was before!!!
It kinda freaked me out, but I didn’t put much thought into it. That is until I started working there. My nana was training me and we had a group of people come in. They were interested in the Ghosts of Galveston and asked if there was any experiences in the Ashton Villa. Nana proceeds to tell them the occurrences that people have experienced and one of them was the messed up bed thing. I felt the color rush out form my face and that is when I told her about my experience.
I am so sorry if everything is everywhere. I’m not that great of an explainer 😅😅😅

Sarcastically Stefunny Thank you for sharing. I'm originally from KS but ever since I moved down here I've been obsessed with the stories and history of the Island. It's really fasinating. Press read more and I'll share my experience.
So I'm 14 at the time and my Dad is a Carpenter and I went to do a job with him. It was a demo job (we demolished a shed) anyways, we were at the job and we had pulled up to the backside of this house. Nobody had lived there for about 2 years. The moment I stepped out of the truck I had this weird feeling as if I was being watched from the 2nd floor window. I immediately told my Dad and he said that I'm freaking out over nothing and that nobody has lived here in the past 2 years. So I rub it off. While we're tearing the shed apart I look up at the same window I looked at when I had first arrived there was a silk clothy curtain that looked like it had been moved so whoever was in there could see out the window. I again think I'm crazy and brush it off. We finish the job and I look back up and the curtain is fixed and it's down. I start to freak out a little now. Then, my dad tells me to go plug the extension cord for the saw into the house and my heart dropped. But you know how it is, me being a boy I can't be seen as scared or non masculine. So I grab the cord and walk in the house the moment I walk in the house when I say I got goosebumps I was covered. My foot went through the door and my heart dropped and within seconds I was covered in goosebumps. I plug it in and run outside as fast as I could. We go back to working and all of a sudden the saw turns off Midway as we're using it. Dad asked me what I did and I said nothing so we both walk in the house to see if its plugged in (now remind you we have 3 extension cords that are 10ft long there was a bunch of slack in the cord) we walk through the door and I get goosebumps again and we turn the corner to look at the wall and it was unplugged. I couldn't breath. My heart sunk to my butt. I started telling my dad about the window and so me and him went upstairs and like we suspected nobody was up there. We walked back downstairs and started getting our stuff together and I looked back as we were driving away and the window curtain was pulled away like somebody was looking out of it. After that I still now refuse to even go in the general area. Scared the crap outta me til this day.

Mr. Miller O M G 😳 I would of crapped bricks!!! I’m really curious as to what house it is. Did you know this island has a voodoo doll in a attic of house? That thought creeps me out! If you haven’t heard of it google “galveston voodoo doll” and the story should pop up.
I have a story one of my best friends told me. It happened to one of her step dads friends. One night he was sitting at the end of seawall (on the west end, in front of that really nice condo? Place. Some know it as 103rd.) anywho, he was sitting there with his feet dangling over the wall and just enjoying the nice night. That is until he got a sensation someone was behind him, then he heard “We need to help the children” he goes to turn around and he hears “Don’t turn around, don’t look at me”. A bit confused he said “ma’am, I don’t know what you’re talking about, I don’t have any children. You got the wrong person.” Then the woman’s voice said “no you’re exactly the right person, we need to help the children”. He then was able to turn around and what he saw sent chills down my spine!!
He saw a woman walking back towards the Walmart direction (even though 103rd is like a good few blocks from Walmart) and the woman was wear what he described as a 1900 era nuns habit! He said he saw it blowing in the wind! And then she disappeared!!
It really sad that the nuns are still out looking for the lost orphans 💔 but that story, even though it didn’t happen to me scared/ intrigued me!

My family is one of the original settlers in Galveston and helped build what is known as "the west end". This would be where the Seawall ends and travels west of there towards San Luis Pass. My parents were police officer's in Galveston before I was born and retired from that department. They always had really good stories to tell of things happening while they were on duty. The sight of Jean Lafitte's fort is located on my grandpa's cousins property. After that family member passed, his family would throw Halloween parties out in the barn and would turn the old house in a haunted house. Never in a million years would I go through it. I have heard every ghost story of Galveston there is and have experienced many things myself. It's definitely haunted and really interesting to hear the history. Highly recommend their ghost tours.

One guy said something brushed into him when he was using the vac hose. A few of us saw a broom fall over on its own, but when I was pressure washing one the walls I could clearly see the silouette of a young boy through the mist of the spray until I released the lever and then he completely vanished. As someone who lives in Houston Tx Galveston is a place I always go to during the summer, 3 years ago I went to that Walmart trying to find some beach toys for my sister and 2 or 3 toys fell when I was in a isle for sure that every where in Galveston is haunted due to the Storm in the 1900s

I spent the night on Galveston Beach. And let's just say the entire time that I was in San Antonio to Galveston and Austin location I felt very very eerie like Spirits were all over the place just watching people. And possibly sadly inhabiting bodies without people even knowing it AKA being taken over demonic possession if you will

My niece and my nephew have a few of those toys the electric ones to take batteries there is like you said no motion sensor and you actually have to put a decent amount of pressure on to the buttons in order to push them down. I sometimes have to help my niece and nephew push the buttons because they are not strong enough. And that telling me that you're more than likely not actually dealing with the spirit of a child but more than likely the spirit of a demonic demon in the form of a innocent child. A child is not strong enough to do some of these things and usually demons will literally identify themselves as children specifically when trying to completely full someone into listening to what they have to say

The Walmart is not built where Saint Mary’s Orphans Home used to be. The real location of the area is near The San Luis Resort. It’s exact location is the beach in front of that resort. If that Walmart is haunted, it’s not by the 93 children and 10 nuns that were killed during the Storm of 1900.

I lived in Campeche, Galveston when it was built and use to go grocery shop around midnight because it was closer than Randalls. There are definitely places in Galveston more "haunted" than this one... like the anatomy lab in Old Red.... now THAT'S CREEPY!

I remember couple years ago being in a Neighborhood Wal-Mart where I was in the cleaning isle with my mom and there was a talking pet toy that randomly said: I'll kill you. Then there was another time where a loaf of bread would fall off the shelf. At a save a lot store I walked across the condiment isle and a jar of mayonnaise went flying off the shelf. Creepy stuff.

I'd heard about this Walmart being haunted and read the excellent book about the 1900 hurricane called, Isaac's Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson. Anyway, I did not go into the store unawares. I stopped in to to buy some fishing tackle and a few groceries. In the sporting goods section I'm looking at some lures and about 10 feet to my right a pair of fishing pliers flies off the hanging rack and lands in the middle of the aisle. It didn't just fall but flew about 3 feet off the rack. This was just last month (August 2023).

Not convinced this is 100% true, sorry. I’m currently in Galveston and I went to Walmart to test this theory. And with my investigation I’m not convinced that this story has merit with the toys shown in the video. I went down the aisle where the two toys in the video were located. Now if you press the center button on “The Tiny Touch Tablet” first and then press any key on “The Xylophone” (The Caterpillar) both of the toys will begin the flashing process. They both will stop flashing, but eventually begin flashing again in about 10 second intervals. Most children’s toys do this to get the child’s attention again. The only part of this video that is questionable is the toy falling after the girl walked past it.
