      Guy is an engineering genius and a master fabricator. Could probably design, engineer, and fabricate his own space rocket to rival SpaceX or blue origin if he had the same funding as those two billionaires

    I bet this pool system is probably the world's most expensive, over engineered, and complex pool in the world. Excluding pools made out of precious metals and gemstones for bling. Amazing pool. Congratulations sir, for the vision, drive, and ability to design and execute a engineering masterpiece. 👏 👏 👏 👏

      There is actually a motion activated electromagnetic safety system. Each person in the area is wearing a steel mesh suit that will allow them to be captured in mid air. @@burz

      @@charlesdavis7940 Oh, I don’t doubt that for a minute. Mike and Mark are two of the hardest working, most dedicated people on the planet. Extremely smart, and and ability to work 20+ hours a day to achieve his dreams. I just wish I had the money to hire him to design, and engineer a home I could have built with a 25’ deep dive pool on the river in the Rocky’s.

    I just like looking at the orange lines that mark the areas he's talking about. It's fascinating how it's the first time I've encountered this technique in YT videos of builders that explain stuff but this is genius and is so helpful for the viewer. I watch so many similar videos that should use that effect. Bravo to the editor

    Mike is a real genius. He does the work to take an idea to finished product with his own mind and hands. ( and credits those who help him )
    He can explain it in detail in ways that most anyone can understand. And he does it without insulting anyone.

      Helps having the $ to back those ideas. I have a disability that makes me bed bound and the things I think of being a former electrician for 10 yrs are insane and I have a journal of inventions but I know they’ll never go further than my book but if feels better that they are somewhere!

      Well they wouldn’t be necessary once the pool is finished. So it would end up being quite a waste of money and they would get in the way during construction. And then more money to remove them when the pool is finished.

    I so fun to watch. I built a giant water feature with an ex Nasa engineer, that did everything you are doing right wrong :). Its a pleasure to see somebody that does not cut corners and thinks things through.

    Mike will eventually reveal that the moving pool floor is a piston, and a cylinder head is currently being designed. In times of trouble Mike will be able to power the neighborhood with his low rpm high torque pool power station.

    I've been remodeling high end residential interiors for 25 years. Nevermind the rest of the house..... this project alone has enough details to make your head spin. I'm shocked that you were able to find the right sub contractors to build your vision. I'm in the process of developing a new career path because its nearly impossible to find like minded craftsman who subscribe to the building sciences. Great work!

    Amazing knowledge shared freely with lots of clear moving pictures. I've worried over Mike's nonchalant attitude toward personal safety during his fabrication & construction videos; I've eased that by concluding since he operates on such a higher level than most of us, he has plenty good karma. I don't want to talk about it because it's working so freaking well.

    Hats off to knowing a few people in the world have such a diverse knowledge base. Most I know, even the smart ones are very good at one thing and not great at others things. Plus I am pretty sure there is zero sleep involved in most days. So to handle all of this and all the engineering involved shows us all that we can all be better at what we do.

    I think you need to start a Mike Patey - Engineering a dream home channel, and just keep building homes for your kids and stuff. Build them for the new Airport y'all will have. Build them for the homeless. You're awesome, and I love hearing about the engineering. I often wonder what it is like to have your thoughts together like you do. You don't seem to skip a beat. Meanwhile, I think at about 1 fps, as I try to have a spontaneous conversation.

    Out of EVERYTHING I watch on RUclips, this build is absolutely the most interesting thing I’ve seen!! I wish like anything I was 1/4 as smart as @MikePatey !! Holy crap talk about an engineering PRODIGY!!! Mike takes the cake 100%!! I’m seriously blown away by this and can’t wait to see him finish his vision here!! I’m sure this is going to be in ALL the magazines, all the diy/construction/engineering/pool/home and garden videos on the internet.. When you really watch this, and think.. “Ok, a gallon of water weighs 8.33lbs… x however many hundreds/thousands of gallons PLUS the weight of the moving concrete floor” this is almost unfathomable for my brain to comprehend..     Very cool pool. The irrigation setup that you had for the valves is genius. You should have a safety railing around the pool. That is a long way down if someone was focused on taking a video and fell down there. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put you back together if you took that fall.

    Mike please show us more of the process of project management, design, engineering, and coordination. Anyone who has worked on an architecture project knows every little detail - like the ladder connection - requires meetings, design options, code compliance, fabrication prep etc. It would be fascinating to get some insight into how you work and innovate in that area

    Don’t forget to put the sharks and aquatic life tile inlays in the tile. I put a manta ray on the bottom and starfish in the shallows. People love them. I wish I would have put a giant shark on the deep end wall.

    Geeze, I just had to give up my dream of building an RV-8 and Mike is making me want my own scuba diving hole. Tell me more baby! What shovel do you recommend? LOL. Seriously, can't wait to see the finished product. It's going to me Mike Patey INCREDIBLE.

    This series has been absolutley incredible to watch. I am astonished with your level of attention to detail. One thing that is surprising to me is the tile work in the bottom of the pool seen up close at the 12 min mark of the video when Mike is laying down. No one will see it when the pool is filled up, but when it becomes the dance floor, they will be clearly visible. Small detail I know, but just surprised me with how particular Mike is with every single detail. Not trying to be a controversial commenter, just something small I noticed. Other than that, this is insanely incredible!
