MAN, these quick smart tips videos that you are doing are so freaking cool! I watched this and the astrophotography one and I loved it. keep this theme alive on the channel!
It is so deceiving to see an edited photo, when you don't know it was edited then think your photo will come out like that 😂. I went through the saame understandng years ago and when I realized that the editng changes the photo dramatically I was dumbfounded. (Thanks for posting this video, by the way ) I am using a Bridge Camera Panasonic Lumix FZ1000ii and there are ZERO videos on YT to show people how to achieve these pictures. There is a lot to know using ND filters and just in camera F Stops. Thanks for the video and keep teaching the masses 😊
Shutter speed is variable depending on your lens focal length. I would say you should probably watch again in the section where I talk about the 500 rule. The ISO is also variable depending on what your shutter speed is or how sensitive your camera is too light. You will have to play with that one.
I guess, shutter speed you need to play around depending on the lighting conditions and the amount of blur you want of the waterfall to look like a milky wave... NDfilter definitely helps to avoid overexposing the highlights
Meanwhile other viewers are saying, "Thanks for the valuable information". I can't just give you settings for every scene, as each scene is different. Also, your style is based around shutter speed. Some people like still water others like the long exposure, milky look. There is no one setting fix all, and artistically it doesn't make sense for me to announce what that is. But I can teach you how to plan and evaluate your scene and use your equipment to get the best shot.
Ryan! Ryan! Ryan!! 🔥 Amazing job bro🙏
Thanks, that was really great and I love the extra takes, truly funny.

Easy follow here. Great work. No fluff
Lol, you are too funny 😂 I missed which shutterspeed and ISO to use though? Was that mentioned?

Awesome! Pure substance.
Simple and to the point, good one :-)
What would be a good shutter speed? Assuming you're using ISO 100 and F8
That would be relative to how much the sensor on your camera collects light. A good rule is the 500 rule that I mention for shutter speed.
What shutter speed are you using? Is it possible to still keep it handheld? No tripod with us unfortunately.
Lovely video😊
I would recommend later in the day... after 5 pm
Also do you have a preference on filters? I am going to be picking up the 14-30 S lens so could go with screw on filter or square with a mount.
I use the square LEE filters and the kit.
@@ryanborden cool thanks for the recommendation. See you on the trails bud!
funny blips at the end :)
What tripod would you recommend buying?
Manfrotto! I usually link these types of things in the description.
If only we could create over cast with a camera... we'd all be wizards😂
But my waterfall is only 3 to 4 feet high but is 100-200 feet across tge river. I try so hard but can not get a silky look.
If your waterfall is only 4 feet high, it may not be worthy of a photo. Sometimes the best thing to do is keep hunting for something more beautiful.
Right after the sun went down I got the silk effect for the first time. I just had to wait for longer exposure to work.
What the best way to turn water to smoke please ?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
hey what you no im in oregon to lol
You don’t mention the shutter speed

Shutter speed????
Variable depending on light in the scene or the filters you are using.
U speak a lot .. 6 min of useless video. No information about camera settings

@@ryanborden maybe my fault man, I have no patience to watch more tha žn 1 min videos.. Tiktok user...
No mention of shutter speed. 👎
The 500 rule determines your shutter speed 😁👌
@@ryanborden does the 500 rule work for a crop sensor camera , canon 90d, sorry but im a new photographer.
Beat all around the bush but does not tell the shutter speed.
It's vaiable
