- Alan Rickman was one of the most beloved actors in British, and American cinema. Known mostly for his “generous” behavior. While playing Severus Snape in Harry Potter, the man could be just downright terrifying at the best of times. But, that didn’t stop the actor from having a little fun. He pranked Daniel Radcliffe with a fart machine in front of hundreds of kids! And speaking of kids, he absolutely adored them. Constantly inviting them to the set to check out filming, and even being a mentor figure to the actors on stage. He did get a bit sassy with Rupert Grint and Matthew Lewis one day though, when they spilled a milkshake in his car. And Rupert Grint drew a caricature of Snape during the filming of one of the classroom scenes, and Rickman had him sign it! And in the wardrobe department, Rickman had a bit of sway. He loved wearing the same outfit movie after movie. While other actor’s costumes changed, Rickman’s stayed the same - despite having the waist loosened a bit when he came back from Holiday. Not that anybody told him. He also got quite the compliment on the richness of his eyes. In response, he popped out his contact! And that loving demeanor of Rickman’s might just be what allowed him to get away with some stealing from the sets. And he stole A LOT and then proceeded to sell the stuff online! But don’t worry, he was always generous with his money and bought subsequent casts their lunch, always stating the reason for the generosity being “Harry Potter.”

Severus Snape is the best thing that ever happened in all Harry Potter Series. His death in the movie was the best plot twist ever in the film history, and also his death was the most shocking and heartbreaking one in the history of hollywood. Such a great loss. Rip Alan Rickman.

My dad's cousin. I only met him twice but he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He touched the lives of many and is continuing to do so even now as his legacy lives on. We miss him more and more everyday. R.I.P Alan xx

@AmelieRickman I'm sure you can imagine the look on my face right now, reading this. I always got that "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" vibe from him, in terms of what the fans see in press tour interviews, and on red carpets. He seemed like a total sweetheart, a very proud papa-bear to the kids in the cast. (12/3/2021)

@Amelie Rickman- I'm sorry that you lost him so soon. He was so gifted on many levels. His passing was such a shock. I cried for days. I can't believe he's been gone so long. His work remains, but it's not the same. I heard Michael had a operation on his head? I saw a pic of him riding one of his horses. I pray that he's well now. He was Severus Snape. Outstanding and talented actor so very missed.
It can be argued that Snape was JKR's only genuinely complex character. While other artists COULD have played Snape (Tim Roth was actually the frontrunner if memory serves. Hugh Laurie could have played his curmudgeonly side more than competently, and Tim Curry could have made a deliciously creepy Snape), I think that A.R. was truly the right person for the role.
Severus Snape has so many facets that it's hard to fathom that just one actor could pull it all off, and believably at that.
Be forever missed. Alan Rickman was exceptional and always will be.
His two most remembered roles he acted in every time I hear his name is the Harry Potter films and the movie Quigley Down Under. He was a fine actor and deserves more. RIP Sir😤

I've loved Alan Rickman since the day I laid eyes on him; I was bout 5 when I walked into the living room while my dad was watching Die Hard - I was mesmerized by the suavely sinister man fiddling with a gun.
7 years later, when I saw The Sorcerer's Stone, I had no idea it was the same man, but, since Snape was my favorite character in the book, I thought he was phenomenal.
Flash forward to now, I'm 34, still in love with Severus Snape & still in awe of the actor.
Also, to the creator of this video, Snape was the Potions teacher, not the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher...at least until the sixth book.

Alan was the best person to create the personality of snape. He brought him to life and gave him the kind of vibe, that everybody felt, while reading harry potter.

I remember when I was a boy I'd get mad at the bad guys like they were really bad people, kids, my dad would say when you really hate the bad guys it's because they're really good actors and of course he was right. The first movie I saw him in was Die Hard and he was an excellent villain, scary ending, for him at least, then he was in Quigley Down Under and again excellent villain and in the Harry Potter movies, as Professor Snape and Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest and the list goes on and on. Alan entertained us for 46 years and I wish he was here so I could thank him. Rest well Alan, God has you in his care now. ❤🙏

I imagine that Alan Rickman had a variety of music in that iPod but I suspect particularly classical music. He came across as such a genuine human being in interviews and hearing the stories from HP just confirms that. I also think it was Rupert who spilled the milkshake in Alan's car rather than Matthew Lewis.

Professor Snape was the Potions Master, he never got the dark arts teacher in any of the movies. That's why there were so many change overs of the Dark Arts teachers - Professor Quirrell, Professor Lockhart, Professor Lupin, Professor Moody and then Delores Umbridge.

In the movie Harry Potter Series Professor Severus Snape always used to call Harry Mr.Potter but at deathly hallows part 2 he called him Harry take them.
