  • Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re discussing events that transpired in the Harry Potter universe AFTER the books and films ended. With the latest Fantastic Beasts film on the way - The Secrets of Dumbledore- we can expect to learn even more information about the wizarding world BEFORE Harry, Ron and Hermione embarked on their journey at Hogwarts. However, what I want to hone in on today are the events that happened afterwards. What happened to Hagrid? Draco? Harry? Let’s dive in.

    The fact Draco no longer believed in his father's views on blood purity really showed how much he grew as a character in the end. Lucius drilled them into him....and he didn't want his son to end up like he turned out...that Scoripus became a heroic, kind individual as a result. And he kept his son away from his grandparents as much as possible so they wouldn't have any influence on him.

      Wrong, draco's belief did not change in even in the DH, he did not have a change of heart during and after the war, he was still a bigot, he just chose the side that won't get him killed. It was Astoria who don't want their child near his grandparents and it was due to her influence why Scorpius was a decent kid. It just that draco genuinely loves Astoria so he kept raising scorpius the way her wife wants.

Bottom it is written "Friends". I think this touched Harry very much and hence he decided to have "Luna" as his Daughter's Middle Name. Another important reason is, while it is true that both Ginny & Luna were in the same year and were good friends, the bond that Harry shared with Luna was truly special. In his 5th Year when Harry was isolated due to the Smear Campaign, Luna was the only other Student who not only understood his pain but also stood by him at all times, even fighting with him. In his 6th year, Harry grew even more close to Luna (he even asked her out for the Slug Club Party) as both Ron & Hermione fought with each other.

GS spends his whole life fighting Goblins, but when the story wraps up he ultimately becomes an trainer to new adventurers so the slaughter that happens at the beginning of the story doesn't happen anymore. He basically becomes so good at training adventurers against them that the danger the Goblins represent to the inexperienced falls into history and the whole cycle is implied to happen again.
      It's absolutely wild to me that Harry does not spend the rest of his life at the only place that ever felt like home.(Besides the weasley's house.)

    You could make a video about why did Ron become an Auror and left after only a few years to join his brother at the prank shop.
    My theories:
    1- He initially felt pressured into becoming an Auror because of what he had been a significant part of (this fits Rowling's words about him as an Auror and seems to me the most likely) but actually wanted to work at the shop
    2 - He initially wanted to be an Auror to prove to his loved ones, but especially to himself, after years of a secret feeling of inferiority to Harry (remember the Horcrux) he was good enough to do what he deemed the best thing a wizard could do, but after taking this pressure away from himself, he felt no need to continue and willingly joined his brother in the job that suited him best (also likely, but it doesn't do full justice to his evolution arc)
    3 - (the saddest) he actually wanted to be an Auror forever, but he felt pressured into going and fill Fred's empty space out of what in psychology we call "the survivor guilt complex".
    What do you think?

    • @DneilB007
      @DneilB007 2 года назад +10

      Well, Draco couldn’t have inherited the manor if Lucius was still alive, so he wouldn’t live anywhere when Draco inherited.
      As for Narcissa, I can see three possibilities: she might have lived on the property, either in the manor proper or on one of its outbuildings (a converted loft above a stables, a cottage on the property away from the manor proper, or perhaps went to live with her own family, perhaps with a pension provided by Draco.
      What I cannot see is her predeceasing Lucius and Draco still inheriting the manor. Lucius is the kind of petty that would have found a way to snub Draco for abandoning the ‘pure-blood’ ways without Narcissa checking his spite.

    • @clockwerck3262
      @clockwerck3262 2 года назад +3

      Hm to me the first chapter of the first book pretty well explains why the Dursleys don’t like harry at all, everything about him is against their nature as trying to be the most normal snobs.
      Harry couldn’t control his powers at that point either therefore always caused trouble in muggle school etc.
      It clearly says petunia hates the wizarding world even before harry was born and that Vernon was the perfect man for her as she wanted the most normal man possible with the most boring life possible.
      And she got what she wanted until… dumbledore shows up and forces the kid on them. He did it for a good reason due to the value of the protective spell of corse, wich could only stay active as long as harry calls that place home but he basically ruined all their dreams of being just a normal snobby family.
      So they went on and left all that anger out on harry. Plus there are parents in this world that do way worse things to their child and they don’t need a horcux for that plus harry is not even their actual child. Family but not their child. At best the child of a hated sister a despised sister with a weird wizard freak of a father, as petunia would call it.
      The locket of slytherin is also a very powerful magical artifact wich is almost bursting of dark magic and was created by Salazar him self then used for dark purposes by the family over the decades. Voldemort just gave it the final kick by making it his horcrux so now it has the magical power and will to effect people.
      No other horcrux created by Voldemort does this and only harry always fears to touch them cause only he is seeing things when doing so. They don’t have an effect on others if not a very powerful artifact of dark magic or any magic only to those connected to it, in this case only harry.
      It only gets tough when trying to destroy it. That will have lasting effects on anybody even dumbledore when not done properly and carefully. When he had the ring on his finger it was no problem when he destroyed it he was basically dead but kept alive by Snape until the big twist to safe Draco’s ass.
      So there you have it my take on this. See what you wanna do with it haha. I like you’re Idea tho it’s a nice idea and definitely could have worked if the Dursleys wouldn’t have been such shitheads before harry even showed up on their doormat.

In the scene she tells Harry something along the lines of you didn't just lose a mother, I lost a sister. As Hogwarts is a converted castle, there would no doubt be other cottages (like Hagrid’s) in the grounds that could be used as housing for staff.
      Another option might be that Hogwarts provides (or subsidizes) housing in Hogsmeade for staff & faculty. This would help the local economy of the town, as the local shops would have the benefit of Hogwarts staff salaries to buoy up their bottom lines.
      The third option is exactly as you as. With floo powder & the apparition spell, there’s no reason that anyone would have to relocate to teach at all.

    I've usually found myself disappointed by most theories or bait about where Luna might have ended up, really. (It seems Rowling wants everyone to pair off and have kids, I guess,) *My* pet theory would be she has the ability to both think laterally and pay attention to *absolutely anyone or anything,* and a personal connection with ....Ollivander, not to mention kind of a family history of finding exotic stuff.... I think she'd be an ideal apprentice to the master wandmaker if she has any crafting skill in her. :)

    Scorpius ends up being the cruse child which makes sense, but the turn of events he does and Draco switch is good to see. I hope we're really getting a cruse child movie seeing the epilogue was satisficing. Lord of the rings, Star Wars heck even Star Trek so why not more Wizarding World stories

    • @Krobra91
      @Krobra91 4 месяца назад

      well 1) LOTR has enough stories to make movies and tv shows for well over 100 years.. 2) star war sequels havent been the best of late and 3) star trek is just constantly rebooted to the point where its annoying to constantly go back to the TOS series events, they havent yet started to move forward except with the limited three seasons of picard.
      Harry Potter was great as a film series. I think the HBO series will allow more time to tell these stories and missed opportunities. I would prefer the cursed child being a season series limited run then a movie.
