ENGLAND cruised to victory to move top of World Cup qualifying Group H as San Marino were put to the sword at Wembley.
Captain Wayne Rooney scored his 30th and 31st international goals to move fifth in his country's all-time scoring charts.
His Manchester United team-mate Danny Welbeck bagged a brace of his own and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also scored to finish the rout.
Rooney opened the scoring on 34 minutes from the spot after Welbeck had been brought down in the box by visiting goalkeeper Aldo Junior Simoncini.
Welbeck then doubled their lead three minutes later with an audacious finish as England completed dominated proceedings going into the break.
The second half saw the hosts remain in total control but it took them until the 70th minute to put a gloss on the victory.
And it was Rooney again who got the fans cheering as he bent a low shot into the far corner of the net beyond Simoncini.
Two minutes later, Welbeck netted his second of the match and England's fourth when he turned Cleverley's cross in at the near post.
Arsenal starlet Oxlade-Chamberlain got on the scoresheet himself with a fine clipped effort that went sailing into the net after a neat lay-off from Cleverley.
Substitute Jonjo Shelvey -- on for Michael Carrick -- almost had a debut goal for himself late on but his effort was parried by Simoncini.

gotta say, Simoncini was actually doing outstanding in this game until the first goal then it died and if he plays like this in every international San Marino should then surely atleast get a point in any of their european/world cup campaigns

I was there and when joe hart was at are end the crowd just waved at him for 45 minutes.
We only got 4 waves from joe. Most of the time he was looking at the shit happening at the other end.
I saw this game live, was quite entertaining :)

Rooney scored 27 goals in the Premier League last year and is the best forward England have by a mile. He is the only one who consistently scores at the highest level, eg. 31 goals for England, on track to be Man Utd's record scorer, and numerous goals in the Champions League. If you think at 26 years old he's finished, you are either a bitter Liverpool fan or you know nothing about football. Yes it was only San Marino, but c'mon wake up mate, Rooney is class and deep down you know it.

Walker is better at freekicks, Walker is better at keeping the ball, Walker is better at skills, Walker is better at crossing the ball, Walker is also fast, but no doubt Walcott is faster. Also, Another thing... WALKER'S A DEFENDER and does a better job than Walcott on the wing.

Yeah, Arsenal do play differently in comparison with Tottenham. Kyle Walker and Theo Walcott are hard to compare, we don't see them in the same situations, I agree. But I still think Walker's better, Walcott's overrated. You a Arsenal fan? Can't wait Tottenham v Arsenal, gonna be a good match!

There's a reason why we didn't choose our best players incase they get injured during a game we have a 99% chance to win. For example, say if we played Cole or Lampard and either of them got injured they wouldn't be able to help us against the harder opponents.
