I really think yall are forgetting how poorly written season 1 was. Alot of the episodes had no connection to the main storyline and there was really a ton of filler for no reason. Season 1 of the live action was good it's not a copy and paste of the original and it's taking it's own course which i like

Can't wait to see what they do with season 2!

@@PutWoodleyIn I hope they take all this critique into account!! They can do soooo much more and I really want to see this improve, because it’s genuinely fun to see the scenes in live action

It wasn't poorly written it was episodic
In the sense you should be able to watch any episode at random and enjoy it withiut much context.
Do you get? But it still follows a plot, it wasn't easy to do.

“It’s not important to the story but it’s important to the audience to see the chemistry” YES THIS. This encapsulates what I think is the main thing the story was missing. The characters don’t have personality, we barely see them interact in meaningful ways, and we don’t see them grow. They had 8 HOUR LONG episodes to build this world while already having a perfect blueprint in the original!! It shouldn’t have been this shallow. If they had simply taken the time to add depth, it would have been so much more impactful and likable!!

Yes! It was very surface level and since I already knew the story I didn't have the urge to watch any further

@@PutWoodleyIn I’m a big follower of the series so I had to finish it 😂 But it was definitely underwhelming 🤷‍♀️

It got progressively better as each episode went on, sokka was my favorite character. The acting was so so, I like the fact that you could tell they were kids in these situations. The worst part for me was the fighting scenes.

Ooo really?! Interesting take 🤔 I did like sokka too. I enjoyed the fighting more than the acting

Zuko was my favorite because I liked his acting the best, and I felt like he encapsulated the most of his original character.
But my favorite acting moment may have been when Sokka overheard his dad being disappointed in him! I feel like the actor portrayed that really well how a real kid may react.

Your reveiw makes sense by the way i just think some things don't work as well in live action, but i simultaneously believe that representing a single idea in multiple forms brings enjoyment to people who wont touch other forms of the media.
P.S Sokka was a leader but not at the beginning he grew into leadership it was kind of his story arc.
    Good reveiw

I liked the analysis, even though I disagree. I think you should keep watching, as many of the characters are developed throughout the series (EP. 6/7, etc.).

I loved the costumes. Someone said they look like stage play costumes. Stage plays could never. Yes, more episodes but they are taking a whole direction with the characters and I don't like it. They are taking away power from the women and making it man-led. There is no way Katara and Aang fall in love. From the looks of it, Aang isn't going to learn any of the other bending. He is going to rely on "friends". Maybe because in the avatar state, he doesn't need any prior knowledge.
