- A documentary feature film about the most controversial skier of the last decade, LIKE A LION tells a tremendous story of adversity and self-confidence, tragedy and triumph. Following the high-risk, high-adrenaline life of seven-time ESPN X-Games Gold medalist Tanner Hall, LIKE A LION is a film that goes beyond skiing, beyond action sports stardom, beyond the rock-star cliches to examine that special courage that allows the best of us to continually comeback from life’s toughest blows.

"I think i got ADD like crazy. but i think, there's no such thing as ADD. I just think that i got... the... I just got... I just got ADD" This is one of my favorite lines ever hahahahah
''I didnt smoke weed before, I played baseball" cracked me up
Whoever put this together is brilliant
Tanner Hall is a true legend and inspiration. RIP CR ❤
masterpiece! the editor is a genius!!!! thank you to everyone who made it happen
I suffered an industrial accident in 2016. I started skiing a couple weeks ago and am so glad it led me to this. The will to preserve is so inspirational.
3-4th time rewatching this over the years. Considering it all I consider T the best all around skier of all time, so athletically talented in skiing gifted with natural ability, skill and drive. his natural talent for skiing is off the charts, no one has compared and stuck out since. i mean consider all those wins, NO OTHER skier has compared since in consistently being on top. besides that the ability to ski big mountain like a pro is just incredible. this movie is always an inspiration
Candide Thovex
RIP/SIP CR ... a true legend.
A really great film. Keep skiing. I lost my best friend and ski buddy from 3rd grade to 57 years old we skied together..... One moment and he was gone.
God bless tanner. I hope he never stops skiing
The closest I got to skiing and getting paid for it was working as a ski tech at Lee Canyon and on slow days they'd let us go out and do some runs, while on the clock. Haha, I got $5.50 an hour but loved every minute of it and would've probably did the job for free. I was 17 years old, with no worries in the world. 35 year's ago 🥺 where did the time go? For any young people out there reading this, now's the time to take crazy jobs, try crazy things and experience things. Youth is fleeting, take advantage of it while you have it, because you're only young once and you're not getting any younger.
So sick! Tanner was always the legend my ski group aspired to be.
I remember staying at Kerry's in SLC during mogul comps and Tanner giving me swirly's and olympic sit-ups. Best days of my life
His dad is just so chill
Watched this 3-4 times already, so inspiring.
"I got way lucky, I ended up only breaking both my ankles and both my heels"
OGBobby Johnson I laughed so hard when I heard that
I think we've all seen that scared. I will never forget "my ankles are broken" it's almost a meme to me at this point.
THANK YOU for making this
Key part are his parents figuring out his talent and supporting it for his will. Perfect example of successful parenting.
Not getting stuck in systematized schooling and growing your kid to a muppet of the system and THEN even having the honor to call it „successful“... but any free-minded activity a „waste of time“
True, but that’s a huge risk and a huge cost those ski schools are expensive as shit man. And it’s really hard to see what his parents saw about the partying and trouble and still let him do his thing cause it could go wrong so easily
Then reality sinks in when they reach 40 and their bodies are torn up. They get fat spend all their money and next wannabe hot skier shows up. These guys are dime a dozen ..
facts!
@@sharkiesgirl8929 lol this guy helped create one of the biggest ski brands and is a celebrity in the ski industry.... a dime a dozen yeahhh
This is a true inspiration to watch. I cant imagine going though all of these mental and physical setbacks and still being able to shred like Tanner is shredding right now. Amazing.
love rewatching this, tanner is the man
Rest easy CR 🙏
Bravo, could not stop watching it !!

So interesting and amazing
What a great mother!!!
Whssseeew. Glad I was a Surfer. Parallels are there. We lost Andy Irons. Big wake up for surf crew.
Took this kid a while to open his eyes, so good vibes Tanner. After the fame & money , family is all we got. Go help someone suffering bro. Brings it right into focus.
Peace , P.j. Rincon Calif.

Tanner Sends It!!!!
School wasn't for me either, I dropped out after the 10th grade, got my first apartment at 16 years old and kept working. Started working with a job permit when I was 14 year's old. I HATED school and dropped out as soon as I legally could. School isn't for everyone.
Gret shit, thanks for that 🙏
Awesome parents!
Dude, get with me to go ride some Beyond epic ditch's. Also, west swell, tide going up from a 1.5-3.5, I have a novelty slab. Super epic adventure, people will love to see it. Like big rock, but a right.
tanner hella high
this is some funny stuff🤘
I never had Cable TV I missed the after 2,000's I guess. I lived and breathed skiing from 1978 until 1983. I guess I lost track after that. Used to watch the Warren Miller movie every Fall .. There is even a clip of me skiing in a Mogul Contest @ Vail on 1982.
I skied the back Country and Power @ Alta in 1983 .. but I never did that Inverted crap .. I blew out my knee because my bindings were cranked 100% in a Mogul Competition @ Park West.. I never had surgery just wear a brace now. As you get older the aches and pains get worse. I chose to do the Mogul skiing because I thought it was safter than Moto-cross.
I guess you have to choose your risks vs rewards wisely . I never drank all that much and never smoked weed so there is that..
I would like to know what Tanner is up to in 2022? I looked on his Insta-Gram didn't see much.
🦁🦁🦁
I suspect his mother's role is much greater than shown here. She always believed in him.
the CHIEF KEEF of skiing💯💯💯
damn, what a fucking legend
no one is as good as thall
i had a major ski accident and almost died from internal bleeding but i pulled through but haven’t been back on skis yet
This is the shit🤟
1:29:16 not true at all if you look at his relationship with henrik
52:13. Omfg he literally moon booted to flat.
RIP C.R. Everyday is a Saturday!
"you know when you're going 40-50mph backwards it's hard to tell"
I think for tanner to have been riding the wave of progression from 2001 to 2004-5 he got a little bit possessive of the claim as the leader of the freeskiing revolution. I think underneath tanner hall is a nice guy, but i think at some point he lost sight of the fact that there were some other skiers who exceeded his level of talent.
Who was exceeding his talent in years from 2001-2005 ?
This dude is a motivator. Follow his snapchat!
cali p!
howzit t ? u good? me too. really miss u
KIDS are kids....
Glen Plake was so bad ass back in the day. Had many ski mag's with his picture on them, back in the 80's and I always looked forward to reading his interviews. I remember reading how he said growing up he was either snow skiing or water skiing because he lived up at Lake Tahoe. Lucky fukrrr, haha. He's kick ass glad to see him still getting respect 👌
I am inspired by "My ankles are broken...."
The god father of modern freeski

i u ever wondered if he was high shooting this go to the clip just before 43:20
Dudes dad was completely lost and had no idea what his son was up to. That's why they're not supposed to move out until they're 18 years old.
It is so so sad that CR died after going through that horrible injury.
The guys in their 20's who gave a 15 year old drugs deserve a kick in the balls. Maybe Tanner wouldn't look 20 years older than he actually is nowadays.
I mean in the end of the day I actually can’t hate it sure it had its downsides but this made him what he is today.
@@fubukibuki--dai-35-gokuchi45 or he'd be 10 times what he is today
Amen. And the parents enabled it. I mean, move for goodness sakes. Don’t entrust your kid to a bunch of idiots.
goddam he had some shit influences
😂 this is so funny
Is that J-Roc from Trailer park boys?
How is he like a lion?
Can someone tell me the song that starts at 1:00
like a lion -cali p
Zoom out on his moms face lol wtf
He just glorifies stupidity and such a cavalier attitude and doesn't seem to make the weighty realization that he has only his own judgement to blame. No denying his natural talent, but hard to have any sympathy for people who tempt fate over and over. Maybe I'm just more inspired by Candide.
It’s a much better thing to be a miserable twit who comes to RUclips and dogs on a video of someone doing something they love. No need to fear something that makes you uncomfortable. It’s good for you, embrace the feeling versus being a troll
Second
lets not forget, if it wasn't for us Snow Boarders (aka "knuckle draggers"), Tanner never existed! (don't get me wrong, Tanner is an absolute legend no doubt.)
Cool, but he skies…
Being the best at something shouldn't make you into such a douchebag. But it happens, time and time again. You'd think the insane amount of hard work put in would equal some humility...
Dude is ok, but he’s no Hotdog Hans.
CR died on the mountain
its inspiring to see other people appropriating rasta culture. It takes the heat off the white dudes with dreadlocks
wat
Pain to see what weed does to human brain
Good skier tho
First

I don’t know what to think about privileged rich white kids and all their first world problems … 😂
