    I know nothing about iron work, so I have a question: why hammer the shape of the horseshoe and then also hit the hammer against the anvil? Curious minds want to know! :)

    • @CrumbScum
      @CrumbScum 2 года назад

      I’m no rocket scientist but I’m pretty sure not every horse has the same size hoof. Maybe that’s why he shapes the shoe if you are wondering

      @@CrumbScum no no lol not what I meant, I meant while he is shaping the horseshoe, why also hit the hammer seemingly randomly against the anvil

    Having watched a few videos, I have a question: is there any practical reason for the little 'lip' (in this case two) on a horseshoe? If so, which goes on which horse? Does a riding horse get a diff one to a work/dray horse?
    Disclaimer: I know zero about horses. 🤐

    Is there any explanation for pressing the horse shoe on the hoof while it's still hot? What is it for? Asking out of curiosity..looks so satisfying seeing smoke coming out.

      I thought it was to kind of form the hoof so that it fits the iron shoe thing.
