- Join us for an unconventional breed study where we went deep into psychoanalyzing six sheep on the basis of our spinning experience of a battling kit from the amazing @mellyknits called “Speed Date”.
We start with a Shetland named Mr. B who gets blended 50/50 with:
- Lincoln Lamb
- Southdown
- Navajo Churro
- Baby Alpaca
- Castledown
It’s more chitchat than actual facts about breeds, but we hope you’ll enjoy our quest to find the perfect “date” for our bachelor Shetland Mr. B.

Thank 6ou for exploring everything a new spinner like me needs 5o hear from you, also fairly new spinners. That it's okay to spin bad yarn at the beginning. The difference between Jackie and Carmen's spinning speed, because Carmen has spent so much more time spinning. My Ashford Kiwi 3 just arrived, and I can't wait to start spinning, and learning all about how she works.

I was gifted an electric 'wheel' for christmas and have slowly been amassing various braids - but I have been too chicken to actually try! It is that - being ok with being new and not very good at something for a while before getting into it time that I am not quite ready for... But! This was SO much fun! And whilst I'm not a therapist, I used to be a 'behaviour change consultant' for corporations so I am really interested in human behaviiour. So the whole - Mr B and Baby Al and the relationships got me hooked. My husband just asked what I was watching because I was smiling so hard. I told him it was my favourite TV - Two lovely therapists in Canada turning wool into people - he rolled his eyes and I just was happy. Thank you Both!!! X Ros X @rosem0nde

You guys are cracking me up. I'm a therapist too and a new spinner as of the 1st of the year. I'm not very far into this podcast but I'm thinking that Carmen, you may need some therapy yourself. There may be some counter transference going on here with Mr. B. Maybe verging on jealousy, over identification and may even obsession . . . And it seems to me that it would have been better to do speed dates with each of the fibers before trying a threesome because each spinner is a big factor in the relationship along with the breeds. You can't separate yourself out of it. And just because you don't have a good relationship with one of the breeds, doesn't mean that someone else won't have a match made in heaven.
