Knitting brings me such joy - sense of accomplishment, ability to give to others and share that joy! First seeing the Fields of Gold sweater by Hundred Acre Wool and absolutely loving the pattern and then seeing Carmen’s “white” version has inspired me to want to knit with unspun wool! I have rewatched your podcasts to learn more about unspun wool as I have never knit with it before. I think mostly I’m looking forward to the feel in my hands as I knit with airy, beautiful, wool that is so artfully created and crafted both before and during the process! Little mittens for my sweet grand babies would be a good place to start! Thanks for sharing your passions and igniting love and passions in others as well! Looking forward to your next podcast!
Oh Debbie, what a lovely comment!! Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to let us know that our podcasts have been inspiring! We so hope you end up with some unspun wool in your hands soon!!!
You had me at nutiden! I became a patreon 1.5 years ago and have been collecting (cough, cough) a small gathering of this wonderful unspun yarn! Last winter I knit a sweater with nutiden held double. I was amazed at the lightness of the garment but impressed by the perfect amount of warmth it provides. Your infectious joy is encouraging me to find a project for some of my wonderful nutiden. I knit to centre and calm my mind when the world around becomes chaotic. Looking forward to your next podcast! Gillian x
Hahaha I laughed out loud at the "small gathering". Yep, say no more, pretty sure I know that that means, and we understand completely!!! And I think the experience of how light the FO is at the end of knitting is one of the most amazing parts of knitting with unspun yarn! I just made a teee and it ended up being 101g!!! So glad you're enjoying the podcast and that we can inspire you!! So so glad to have you part of our community!!!
Congratulations on.75! And how generous. I am drawn more towards bright colors in my knitting but serenity in other areas of my life. I love how you are spotlighting stories and connections in knitting and your love of this yarn. I’ve never knitted with nutiden but am now curious about it. I love drop spindle spinning so I think I’d like the fluff!
Oooh another bright colour lover! Love it! And yes, I bet you will love unspun wool! I've been wanting to try out spinning as well, I just can't seem to find the time because I can't put my needles down long enough!!
Both of you are amazing and your energies are fabulous. I love to knit sweaters and socks. I am drawn to the knitting process that Jackie does when she thinks about what the yarn and what it will become but I am all about the colour. So colour is me! Knitting provides the calmness and meditative feeling I look for when I knit. The whole process of knitting is so relaxing to me.
How generous of you to share the story and your yarn. I look to my knitting as an escape from the rest of reality. Not that I don’t have stress or frustration with it but it’s different.
So glad to hear that you're enjoying the podcasts Sherry! That means the world to us! And couldn't agree more about knitting bringing calm. I (Carmen) can't imagine a day going by without me knitting for at least an hour!!
Fabulous to hear you both talking about nutiden which I became a Patreon of about a year or so ago and just LOVE IT …. You have given me so many more ideas etc about what I can use my nutiden for …. I think I’m a real mixture of you both as far as my processes and colour choices !! Have made some Kura socks and they are amazing …. Now I want to make miss evil knits mittens which I’ve been thinking about for a while. Thanks for all the inspiration …. Looking forward to seeing you both again in August! I write as a farmers wife in Wales UK, xxxx
Oh Carol! So you know what we're talking about! And so fun that you're a combo of the two of us! Hopefully between us both, we'll keep giving you wonderful inspiration to keep using your magical nutiden!
Knitting is my meditation, my escape from the stresses of the world. My non knitter friends just don’t get this, but knitting relaxes me, calms me down and just makes me happy! I’m new to Nutiden yarn and you both have got me so intrigued. I really want to knit with it now! Thanks for the inspiration! I think I would like to knit a cowl, or mittens. And I really am open to all colours. I try to knit a variety of colours, I just finished a white linen top and immediately started to knit a rainbow coloured sweater. I just love to knit! I’ve been watching your podcast in bits and just wanted to add some thoughts. I’ve been knitting probably longer than boh of you have been alive. I learned to knit as a child, made things I was never 100% happy with, figured out techniques from books (yes, I’m old!) always enjoying it but being a bit frustrated with my results and not really knowing other knitters. Getting busy with life, work, children, I picked it up occasionally, making a few things for my kids and friends. I actually knit with roving before, but at a bulky weight and made some beautiful sweaters that are way too warm to wear! Then I retired a few years ago, discovered Ravelry, knitting podcasts, beautiful hand dyed yarn and my love of knitting was reignited! This summer I decided I needed to finish the projects I already have wool for. No more purchases or new projects until then. But now, you two are making me break my promise to myself. Sigh… I’m signed up for the Nutiden newsletter and have the shop update on my calendar. And I might be joining the KAL. I’ll get to my other projects when they call to me!
Aw!!! It was delightful reading this and I'm so impressed at your restraint! I think knitting from stash is an incredibly admirable idea and I wish I could do the same! haha and yet, Nutiden only is released 8 times a year, and it's always one-off, so I think there is space for making room for it, even in such a beautiful and sustainable plan! So hopefully you'll keep with your current journey, but also consider buying maybe a little of something from the update on the 14th! haha, of course, I'm also a full-out Nutiden enabler, so there's that to consider! PS, so hope you join us in the KAL regardless of what wool you use!!
Jackie and Carmen you are such a delight and your friendship is so obvious as you interact through out the video. I have not knitted with Nutiden yarn and would love the opportunity to try it. I believe I need some calm in my life as I've negotiated some unexpected events in my life recently. Thank you for this give away and I eagerly look forward to your next podcast episode. Keryl😊
Oh thank you so much Keryl for your kind words! We really love each other! So incredible that knitting brought us together! I'm sorry to hear that things have been tough recently and wish you all the best navigating the ups and downs of life! We're so happy that we can bring a little comfort and fun!
Hello ladies. I'm a Nutiden lover, and have been a patron for over a year. I really like your videos and the idea of the KAL is fantastic. Planning my colours right now... I'd like, as many others, to have serenity in my life, and be able to give joy to others. All Nutiden colours are fabulous, so ... surprise?
I'm so happy you love your Fields Of Gold sweater Carmen! And Jackie your Inspired by Ellen KAL socks are GORGEOUS I think I'll have to copy you 😄I really want to knit all the things in that motif - it just works on everything! It's so nice to see other knitters as "obsessed" with Nutiden as I am haha! You two are such a joy to watch and knit with - can't wait for episode 0.9 😂
Aw thank you sooo much Bella! Fields of Gold is one of the best sweaters I've ever knit! Can't wait to see what you come up with design-wise next! I already love that beautiful tank! And thank you so much for the kind words on the pod and I love that you said next one will be .9. Haha that is likely so accurate!!!
Another informative episode, thank you! I’m looking forward to the next episode. I knit because I enjoy making. Knitting relaxes me. I love wool, working with it and wearing it. I’m inspired by nature; I like wearing natural colored wool, but also wool dyed the colors found in nature. Living in Minnesota, I tend to wear wool year round; even on the hottest days, you’ll find me wearing a wool shawl if the air conditioner is on.
Oh so glad you're enjoying the episodes and we totally connect with what you've written! Plus year-round wool is a dream of mine (Carmen)! The Toronto area unfortunately gets too hot for it in the summer. Sweater weather all year would be just perfect for me!
Hi! What a treat to have you both here again. I think, to answer your question, the colorway that describes most accurately my current mood is footprints on sand, but I could never get a single plate of it. So, something in that mood … light and summery, somewhere between warm and cold, but no clear distinction possible. I hope I’m not writing nonsense 😂 I’m clearly in a summer mood right now. Can’t wait to see your next episode! Take care
What a treat that we get to share some time with you! I (Jackie) also LOVED Footprints in Sand and all the contradictions that were inside it - it all makes sense to me :)
What a lovely second/quarter(?) episode! I loved it, and the Zoom format somehow made it feel more inclusive, like it was the 3 of us meeting together. Anyway, what a fun giveaway! I definitely have my favourite comfort shades… and they are polar opposites. I love the feeling of depth, as in “deep in the universe” and “depth of the ocean”. And I love the feeling of Aussie autumnal warmth, the perfect sunshiney warmth without being hot. Looking forward to your next ep!
Oh my goodness, I (Carmen) want to experience this "Aussie autumnal warmth"! That sounds incredible! And that you so much for your kind worlds about the zoom format! We were worried it might not go as well, but we ended up loving it and it's so nice to hear that others did too!
Love your podcast!! When I am knitting I want the sense of peace and calmness to surround me. Knitting helps me to ground myself and to slow down. We live in such a busy, go, go, go world knitting helps to calm and soothe my mind and soul.
We could not agree more, Carol! It's incredible how much peace two sticks, some string, and some rhythmic hand movements can bring! And we're so happy you're enjoying the podcast and that you're part of our little community!
Lovely podcast to watch and listen to. I have bought some nutiden but haven't tried it yet - it's a little intimidating!! but i'm going to give it a try. Knitting is my me time but I also really enjoy learning new techniques, stitches, ways of doing things to make gorgeous finished projects to treasure. I like to try all the colours but I am starting to be drawn to more subdued energy and calmer colours. I often think that the contrast is too low with muted, neutral colours and you wont see the design but then I see a finished project that's low contrast and love it! Knitting is such an amazing hobby that can bring so much to so many and I can't rave about it enough!
We're so happy to have you with us Tanya and are so glad you're enjoying the podcast! And we totally understand the reluctance to get started with Nutiden. In our next episode, I (Carmen) will try to remember to talk about my first Nutiden experience. Haha there were multiple sets of tears!! But then it starts to fall into place and becomes an experience like nothing else! And totally agree about the low contrast. When you're knitting with it, it can feel so discouraging because it looks like the pattern won't show up. But if you persevere, suddenly it all comes together! Can't wait to hear about your future knits and whether that Nutiden ever gets cast on!
I have never knitted in Nutiden, but have been intrigued for many years. I would love to have the opportunity to try it out by knitting a cowl or a hat. My own energy is very much like Carmens. I'm quick and impulsive and rely a lot on my intuition. And I like color. I feel like I need a lot of comfort and anchoring/grounding at the moment, because big changes are coming for me in the near future and I can feel a bit unsettled some days. This is such an interesting and inspiring podcast. I will definitely keep on watching. 💜💚💗
Aw Susanne! I (Carmen) loved reading your comment, and not just because we're obviously kindred spirits!!! I'm so excited for the future that is about to unfold for you and love that knitting will be there for you as a comfort through the transitions! And we're also so glad that your enjoying our podcast and that you'll keep being part of our wonderful community!! We're so happy to have you!!
I'm desperately needing a feeling of serenity and calm. Blue may be the colours I need which I don't normally knit with or wear often. In general I love Red's and golden colours. I would probably make a cowl that would be like a warm hug around my neck or socks to ground me for the day. I love your new podcast and look forward to hearing more about your first experience with Nutiden and would love to see more of the garments you knit.
I am really enjoying your podcasts and love their gentle format. The muted tones of Nutiden are beautiful and the story behind their process sounds so interesting. I have recently set up a knitting group here in Ireland for Ukrainian mothers and children and locals. I have not done anything like this before but knowing the benefits of knitting and the joy it can bring I thought it might be something that would appeal. I have been so delighted with the response as I really didn’t know if it would be of interest. Above all I have loved how much fun our sessions have been. The kids have such a great sense of humor and are so keen to learn. They make it. The sessions so far have been both relaxing and hilarious......not sure how that can be conveyed in wool. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of my local yarn shop in donating a huge box of beautiful wool and needles to help get the group up and running. So generosity and kindness would also be in the wool mix!! Thank you for your time putting together such a thoughtful idea and podcast! All the best Natasha
Oh NATASHA!! What a gorgeous thing to do! You are so inspiring and I just know you are bringing so much joy to all those refugees. This is just so heartwarming, thank you for sharing it with all of us and for thinking to create the group in the first place! Just beautiful!!!
I got the last Patreon spot, for now! I'm intrigued by unspun yarn, which I've never used. I've watched Belle's pod cast when she talks about it, but other than that, I'm clueless. Honestly, I'd love any color! I'm glad y'all found each other. I knit solo, no knitting friends, I'm thankful to have folks like you to knit with, which works for this homebody.
Aw yay!!! So glad you joined Patreon and we're so excited to hear about your unfolding journey with Nutiden!! And also we love that we can be knitting partners for you. We have also found that watching knitting podcasts is a way to connect, even when we're alone, so we're so happy we can be a part of that for you! And hopefully the audio was better in this episode as opposed to the first one!
Thank you so much for your inspiring podcast! How wonderful that you are sending a piece of your stash out into the world. I could use some playfulness in my life right now! So a hat in colours that play leapfrog together would be superfun. Looking forward to the next episode of Knitting a Good Yarn!
Omg, Anne-Lore!! I love the image of colours leap frogging together! Mmmm, I'm going to have a think on how best to represent that in terms of what's in my stash! Thank you for inspiring ME!!
I knit to find peace and calm in my life because I'm usually a very anxious person and knitting always has been my happy place. I'm right with you about Nutiden and the stories-I've had so many synchronicities with the yarns, like living in California and she came out with Inferno, in 2020 just as we were having a huge fire near us, then "Up from Ashes", and more recently, after we moved to IL and had just installed a wood stove, Härden (Hearth), and so on. I'm loving the energy of both of you!! And I'm still over here trying to figure out what to knit and with what for the KAL!
Oh Isa, thank you for sharing your experiences with Nutiden and we couldn't agree more that Caroline somehow has her finger on the pulse and releases things at exactly the time we need them! Haha and yes, the deciding of what to knit and with what colour ways is always so difficult, but it's also so fun and exciting at the same time!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Oh goodness, you've sent me down the unspun rabbit hole and I don't see any way out. I was lucky to get into the Patrein just today and I believe I'll have lots of inspiring watching to do. I love your energy, ladies. I'm hoping to buy a sweater quantity of Nutiden on my own but I would love to make that Andrea Mowry hat. I straddle the line in terms of colour--a neutral home but with pops of colour from art and accessories. I'm so inspired by the beautiful flowers in my neighborhood these days.
Welcome to the rabbit hole, we're so excited to have you here! Delighted that you landed in the Patreon as well and can't wait to see what you end up with! PS: Flowers/Nature are my (Jackie) main source of inspiration so I am totally with you there.
For me knitting is about gratitude, connection and mindfulness. I’m sorry it’s not quite what you asked, but I couldn’t find other words to explain the feeling knitting gives me. I love neutrals and brights and putting them together. Pinks and purples don’t bring me as much joy as other colours, but I’m always happy to knit them for friends & family. I’ve really enjoyed your teaser episodes 😁
Lovely podcast! I am so glad that Loretta told us all about you two. I am newly retired after about 30 years in healthcare, now I am trying to figure out what is important to me. I think my leading thought is, just because I can does not mean that I should. What is it that I need and want. I want to approach my days with more intention. I have always had a creative side which only intermittent had time to show through and I have been a knitter for about 15 years, but now that I have more time what garments belong in my closet and what can I do to make those. I would love to take a try at Nutiden it sounds like it lends itself to so many possibilities. I am all for a more sustainable process for the yarn I support.
Oh Susan, we're so happy to have you join us! You totally sound like our kind of person!! And we couldn't agree more about "just because I can does not mean that I should". I (Carmen) have actually been living with that as a kind of motto over the past year or so and it's really helped me live more intentionally and has freed up space for the things that I really care about. So excited to see what you end up making in this journey of yours and if Nutiden ends up being part of it!
I am so inspired by Nutiden and both of you! I have never knit with unspun, but now I NEED to! I love how you describe feeling connected to the fiber more because of knowing how it is made. I feel the same way about some of my special spun yarn. I want unspun yarn that brings me happiness, joy and peaceful feelings.
Such an inspiring podcast!! I learned so much from you sharing your process (I'm referring to Jackie's sock and Carmen's sleeve brilliance) of figuring things out by changing the needle size. Also enjoyed your thoughtful reflection on self exploration through color and knitting in general. I will definitely join the Inspired by Ellen KAL - just have to contemplate my Nutiden stash and see which colors beckon! Thank you both so much!! I love Nutiden too!!!
Oh we're so excited to have you as part of our community and also that you're going to join the KAL! Cannot wait to see what colours you choose and what you end up making!! And thank you so much for the beautiful words about the podcast! We're so happy you're enjoying it!!
Very happy to have found you. I would like to make a cowl incorporating the motif from the "Ellen" sweater. I tend to neutrals but love to throw in surprises every now and them. I want my cowl to be like my knitting in general - something that comforts me but also excites me. Thanks for your inspiration, I am looking forward to seeing more of you both.
Glad to have found you. I live in Florida so I don’t do much colorwork. I haven’t tried Nutiden or any other unspun (helpfully changed to “unsound “ by spellcheck) yarn. I think I could make a cowl for beachwalks or a pair of fingerless mitts for my sister-in-law who has RA. I’m drawn to all the colors you both showed today but I’d say I’m more a planner than a spontaneous chooser. I was drawn to knitting for the friendships it brought. I was so lucky to have a “knit night” be my introduction to knitting. Deb
Aw knit nights are so amazing and so important! Knitting can be such a solitary activity and yet we crave sharing it with others at the same time. Nothing better than sitting beside another person when you're both knitting. Maybe you chat, maybe you don't, but it's just delightful either way! That's why we like podcasts so much and why we decided to start one.
Hello from Victoria BC😊 I have three plates of Oath and one of Offering of Trees that I think needs to be made into this sweater motif pattern! It'll be a super low contrast...but I think there will be enough contrast to make it work! I'll have to think on how I place the colour work, since I only have one plate of the contrast...but that'll be half the fun! Looking forward to joining in on the knit along! It's like a choose you're own adventure!
Oh we love having you part of this incredible community and we couldn't agree more about Nutiden being pure happiness. Every part of it. Even having it sit on my shelf brings so much joy!!
I’m just so happy I followed my whim to check you two humans out! This sharing was again so insightful. Yes, this amazing yarn that translates into such amazing pieces. I found you by checking out how to become a Patreon - I want to experience the MYSTERY of this fibre; minimally processed and presented in such gorgeous translations of the colour/nature in our world. Bravo to you two!❤️
Oh Roxanne!! What beautiful writing! You have captured the magic of Nutiden so well, which is incredible bc it sounds like you might not even have held it in your hands yet! I can't wait until you do and would love to hear what you think! And we're so glad that you're enjoying the podcast! That means so much to us and it's so amazing to connect with wonderful people like you because of it!!
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 Thanks so much! I have not used this fibre/yarn and am in the process of figuring out how I’ll order some. I fortunately have been able to become a Patreon! I may reach out for advice. Thanks again. Love your podcast}. R.
Just found your podcast. Live the calmness and excitement you both bring. The education of Nutiden is a bonus. I have never knitted with this yarn but would love to try a hat or cowl or handwarmers. Something yellow and blue maybe. Excitedly waiting for the next podcast! See you soon.
Aw thank you so much for your lovely words Diane and so glad you're enjoying the podcast! We're planning to do another next week, once I'm back from the UK!!
What a great and special and unique podcast! For you guys I have tried knitting nutiden single stranded, just because you said I could 😅. And… I can 🤩. For your giveaway, My intention would be to knit mittens for my mother-in-law bringing her the emotion of love whenever she wears them. I myself am loving neutrals a lot but I believe to bring the emotion I am aiming at into my mitten project it might need some more colorful yarn. And I will use your kal to create these mittens with Ellen’s motif. I am so looking forward to all your podcasts coming
Oh my goodness! I (Carmen) loved every word of this! So glad you're enjoying the podcast and that we made you feel like you could knit single stranded! That is just so awesome!! Second, how beautiful that you're knitting beautiful mittens made of love for your mother-in-law!! That is so heart-warming that you two have such a loving relationship! That has really made me smile so thank you for sharing!!
So glad I stumbled upon your podcast and able to start at the beginning. My knitting color mood lately seems to be golden yellow, blue & gray's. I want to call peace & calmness into my life with knitting. Thank you for sharing. :)
You two are very engaging - I really enjoyed your bonus episode (.75) and will be watching for more. Nutiden is new to me, and I’m intrigued - the KAL sounds like a nice new challenge.
Jackie & Carmen - love 0.75 You two are open, honest, and welcoming. I've been interested in Nutiden yarn for a while - in a comment on your last podcast, I even mentioned being a bit intimidated by the process of purchasing it and the exclusive nature of the community. Jackie, your discussion of Caroline's reasoning and the Patreon concept reframed the experience for me. It just seemed right. I was lucky to log on to the site and join as patron today. I completely identified with your story about connecting to the process of creating yarn and to being a part of something larger. This is why I knit - really connecting is about who I am. When I knit, I feel a visceral connection to people and the natural world - the sheep, shepherds, and fiber artists who are a part of this way of being in and of the world. My home is situated near a river with an outdoor space that places me under a towering leafy canopy. Knitting outside among the trees, the birds, the breeze all ground me and seem to fit with working with yarn as a natural gift. Knitting also connects me to a tradition of creating - In particular to my great aunt (grandmother figure) - my mentor, teacher, and playmate who's spirit knits with me when I pickup my needles and hold fiber in my hands - Thanks again for sharing a bit of who you are and why you're inspired to create and share. In terms of your prompt for the giveaway, I tend to knit sweaters but am determined to learn how to knit a hat and mittens that fit! I tend to be drawn to colors Jackie has shown in the first two podcast but sometimes to jewel tones as well. Looking forward to learning more
Oh Julie!!! This post!! Thank you so much for your beautiful words! I (Carmen) could just feel the peace that you must experience knitting in your incredible woods! Wish we could join you there! And we're so happy that we've been able to provide some more of our experience with Nutiden and we're so happy that you've joined Patreon! I think you will fit into the community beautifully there and we're so glad to have you part of our community here as well!!
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 Oh my gosh! I stayed up until 1 am to be ready for the Nutiden shop update and have some wooly goodness heading to Pennsylvania. 😍 I’m curious about holding Nutiden single to create a lighter weight fabric but still knit it at a looser gauge. Lighter weight will allow for more wear here. Sooo, hmmm, how far might I push it? I suspect 24 sts/10cm will be fine. What about 20? 16? Holding single. Is there a tipping point when you decide it needs to be doubled?
Agg, I just realized I didn't respond to this yet! RUclips apparently only alerts me to original comments, not replies to comments! I'll pay better attention in the future! Did you receive your order?? What do you think? Did you end up trying a looser gauge with single?
So lovely 🥰 both your sweaters are inspirational. I live in a warmer climate (Australia) but I may add a nutiden sweater to my wardrobe one day, and then probably end up with 5 😆🤣 yeah I have addictive tendencies 🫣 I learnt so much today and it was fun to sit and knit and listen to you two passionate friends. Yep community, connection and creativity, knitters are lucky 🍀🥰 btw this is episode 2 - just saying 🤭
Hahahaha I laughed out loud at the episode 2 comment. You are so right, and yet, it may be a year before we actually admit that an episode is worthy of being called "#1"!!! Also, you are completely prescient in your prediction that one Nutiden sweater will likely become 5! Even if you live in Australia and there aren't many days that warrant sweaters!! There's always single-stranded tees!!
To give kindness and care is my daily thought so warm and rich colours. Of I got chosen, I plan to give it away to a close friend so she can make a small shawl as I'm already on the Nutiden love train! Love your show ladies, keep up the inspiration 👏💕
Francesca this brought such a smile to my heart (Jackie). The intention of this podcast is to share the knitting (& Nutiden of course) love and inspired by your continuation of that in this way.
This is such a refreshing new perspective to explore in Knitting...always something new to learn. Love your podcast! I would like to try and knit a shawl or poncho. I love blue colorways, especially teal and denim. I love the process of knitting, not necessarily the finished objects. The quality of my life that I would like much more of is to focus on the here and now, live in the present, because that is all we truly have. Knitting helps me to do this.
Aw Anne thank you so much for your kind words! It's so nice to hear that we're offering something a little different and also that we're inspiring you to expand your knitting horizon! And Nutiden means to be in the present so I think it needs to enter your life in the near future!
Absolutely love your energy, ladies! So happy I found you❤️ I knit for serenity, calm, peace...Would love to knit a cowl or hand warmers with Nutidin yarn! I have never in my 50+ years of knitting used unspun, so I’m very excited for their next update to order some plates! Continued success with your channel! Looking forward to many more episodes! ❤️❤️🧶🧶
AW!!! Jeanette thank you for your sweet words and we're so excited that we have inspired you to try unspun! We think you're in for a beautiful experience and can't wait to hear what you think and see what you make!!
What a wonderful idea this is and also this episode was pure enjoyment for me. I love knitting with Nutiden but never knit any accessories with it. I’m imagining a wonderful set of mitts and a hat for the winter. Almost all the colours Caroline and Knut are making are pretty to me, but my favourites are more the cooler and darker shades. Have a lovely time and until the next episode 🌼
Your podcast is exactly what I need in my life right now! I've been in a bit of a knitting slump but lately my Nutiden has been calling me. Watching your podcast was the last bit of inspiration I needed to do a quick gauge swatch and cast on! I love Nutiden for all the reasons both of you mentioned. Because of the nature of the yarn, it really makes me slow down and enjoy the process more than other yarns. Plus each plate is so magical and is always more brilliant in person! ☺
Oh my goodness, this just warmed my heart so so much! We're so glad that we've been helpful in re-sparking your knitting mojo, and that Nutiden is what is bringing you back! Cannot wait to see what you make!! And yes, the plates just cannot be captured by photos and it's always such a thrill to experience them in real life!!
Enjoyable podcast keep them coming. Love the blended colors of the Nutiden within each plate color and your way of describing the push and pull of combinations. I would love to make a hat of grey, white with a pop of color- kinda like a combination of the two of you. Looking forward to more episodes and trying my hand at my first KAL.
Hello from Missouri. Your podcast just popped up and started watching. You ladies have a great chemistry together!!! Currently our work place was bought from another company. The feeling at work is so overwhelming, there are ladies that got letters that they are no longer needed and other letter to sign on board. My knitting has come to a stop bc if all the stress but I keep dream knitting while watching RUclips. I would love to try to knit shorts or knit jogging pants… lol thank you ladies for a wonderful podcast…
Aw thank you so much for your lovely comment Annette and we're so glad you're enjoying the podcast. Sad to hear that things are so stressful at work though and we really hope that sorts itself soon so you can get back to your needles! And shorts or jogging pants!! Wow! Now that you mention it though, I (Carmen) actually have had a pair of jogging pants in my Ravelry favourites list for years and you're inspiring me to think about getting those in the queue! I mean, can you get any cozier???
I am so happy I found your podcast! Love it and feeling so inspired! My go to accessory is mittens. I love colours and a big inspiration is the ocean and fields of flowers. I want to invite a stronger sense of community and connection into my life. Looking forward to watching many more podcasts from you! ❤️
Oh we're so glad you liked it Lina and thank you so much for commenting! And love that we might even be able to help with your intention because we feel like we're already connecting with you and see you as part of our beautiful knitting community!
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 Thank you! Knitting communitys are the best 😀👍 I also think its amazing how sometimes when you state your intention out loud your mindset can shift and see the beautiful connections already in place. 💕
I am so happy to have stumbled upon you both... what a wonderful discussion on a new to me yarn. I try to emote a feeling of clam creativity with my knitting- stress reduction is key to my life. :)
I’m so happy to have found you two! You speak to my soul. 💕 I became a patron & purchased Nutiden from one shop update almost a year ago and fell in love with the yarn and Caroline and her story! But I feel stuck trying to decide what to knit with it. I’m afraid to mess it up! 😅 It’s so special that I want it to be perfect! Maybe winning a small quantity from your giveaway will let me feel like I have permission to give it a try and finally create something magical with it. In my creating I’m always looking for peace and calm. I love for my knitting to be a form of mediation and to be soul-soothing. I wish you two the best and can’t wait for your next episode!
Sara we're so glad we are speaking to your soul! Kindred spirits! And we totally understand the feeling of Nutiden being so precious it becomes hard to knit with it! We both really believe the wool becomes what it's supposed to though so I bet there will be a time where you look at it and just decide to pick it up and start knitting! And once you start, it's very hard to stop! But thank goodness, there's always another shop update to replenish!!
A feeling of calm. Love making hats and socks. As for colors I like surprises. You guys are great and I really enjoy your podcast.Keep up the great work.Thank you!
I like your podcast 💙 and your love to nutiden, just like me. It feels like I find home the first time I knit with nutiden. The feel of the yarn on my skin is like a healing energi. When I knit whit nutiden you need to "be in the now" Its healing for my mind and soul
I’ve never knitted in nutiden and would love to try it. To be honest it depends on my mood and season as to what I am drawn to but having said that the colors that Carmen was putting together, the bold, loud ones really spoke to me.
Hi Ladies -loved the podcast. Have some Nutiden on my table, so it was very helpful to hear you talk about your experiences and tips. I would say my mood is goldy green and peachy. This may sound weird, but I have an ice cream maker coming UPS today (this for 10 years at my job - say what?). Ugh. Anyway, I want peach ice cream. Not very deep, I know, but the idea has me so excited and it really is all about the little things to get us through. And the color - delightful. Maybe some pistachios in it too. Enough to get me through the workday.
Inspiration is everywhere and equal in value, measured only in passion and joy. I am loving your peaches and pistachios mood :) Happy that our random chatter was helpful to your knitting journey!
I'm really looking forward to episode #1! I love that you're testing out your format by including us in the process. I have been knitting for an extremely long time but have only recently started knitting adult garments. For myself I gravitate towards greys and blues but have been exploring other options and knit myself a gold t-shirt, which I wear all of the time (maybe a bit surprisingly since gold isn't what I would consider my colour). Great info on nutiden!
It means so much that you are embracing and enjoying our chaotic process (we weren't sure if we should keep publishing this "WIP"). Thanks for tuning in and for your support!
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 I think too many knitters have gotten caught up in what has become the knitting format. Keep on doing what you're. I really enjoyed hearing about your experiences and opinions on nutiden. I haven't knit with it but I have a friend's deep stash unspun that I want to use this autumn and now I have a better understanding of expectations. 💙
Hi from Alberta! Loving the energy and inspiration of this podcast (both your sweaters are FIRE!) Kudos to you both for bringing this woolly goodness and great conversation into the world! I really feel a sense of community here on RUclips, and you two are a delightful duo. Regarding this generous giveaway: I really want to call in Presence and Simplicity with a side of JOY!! I think these qualities come from the heart centre... (wink: heart chakra... aka green alll the green). LOL. Hats are my go-to. I don't know why but I am often late-to-the-party when it comes to awesome knitting things, but here I am on time for this AWESOME KAL! Thank you for your podcast really looking forward to going deeeep down the UNSPUN rabbit hole!
Omg, I (Carmen) loved every word in this post! Thank you so much for all the kind words and I just love your excitement for wool and for life! And I am also soooo weak for greens!!
It’s been really interesting hearing about your love affairs with Nutiden. It’s a yarn I haven’t tried knitting with yet but you have totally piqued my interest and I’m eager to try it now. I knit all the time and tend to gravitate to bold colours, often in wild combinations. I see the Nutiden as a softer and more cosy alternative and would probably veer towards the buttery soft colours instead of my usual choices. I envision something cosy… a hat or cowl? Keep on posting! I look forward to your future episodes. 💕
Oh Lili! You sound like a woman after my own heart (Carmen). Haha I think we would get along very well with our colour choices. And I also definitely can appreciate buttery soft colours here and there, and Nutiden is just so wonderful for those. So glad that we've piqued your interest and would love to hear what you think if you ever choose to cast on!
I would love to knit a cowl in Nutiden yarn. I have been craving security and protection for various reasons and feel that a cosy cowl covering such a vulnerable area such as my neck would really help to impart that feeling of security and comfort that I'm looking for. I feel that the warmer earthier colours are very protecting and comforting and have always been drawn to them.
Oh this is beautifully said, and I have done the same re knitting something protective when I'm feeling vulnerable. I think this cowl will give you the armour you need and hope we get to see it!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful podcast! I absolutely love your asthetic seeing your beautiful projects! I would love to make a cowl with Nutiden yarn! I love colors that show of joy and energy!😊
Best greetings from 🇩🇪 Love watching u both u have so much tips and specially for the nutiden yarn. I was thinking to knit with that yarn just 1 strand, but wasn't so sure I can do it.Now since I watch u podcast and see u did it successfully, I have the power to try too. Since I knit ,my live slow down.and iam more in the now.hope it is clear😊🥰
I’ve been knitting for less than a year but I love the meditative aspect! I have ADHD and rarely stick with hobbies for this long, so I have Carmen’s energy for jumping into projects for sure. I love knitting garments of any kind but need a few palette cleansers after finishing a sweater or bigger project. I love the constant challenge of new stitches and techniques, and the continuous improvement is a great motivator. I recently tried more rustic wool and did not expect to love it so much so I’m excited to get my hands on some Nutiden!
There's so much you can do in this craft that there's a million options to try so that it's always new and enjoyable for you. Excited for your foray into rustic yarn (it was my (Jackie) entry into the craft for SURE). Honer Och Eir is having a shop update this August (date TBD) but if you arrive within the first few hours of the shop opening, I'm certain some Nutiden could be yours. So great to have you here :)
Just love your podcast, girls.. it's so fun & informative.. and very inspiring. I love making socks and I would love to bring some calmness into my knitting, as this year has been a bit 'hmmmmmm' 🙃 I am drawn to Jackie's calm nature & neutral vibe.. but I would totally enjoy being challenged by Carmen's exuberant vibe, and therefore a completely random, surprise colour way 💙
Hi Tea!!! Thank you so much for your comment and so glad you are enjoying the podcast!! Haha and yes I know you definitely love making socks but your garments are also exquisite!! So glad to have you part of our community!!!
You are both so thoughtful and delightful! Thank you for another lovely podcast. I am already a nutiden addict so don’t need a sample but it’s really generous to offer others a chance to sample this beautiful and special yarn. I recently finished The Hood by Vanessa Pellissa in nutiden (one strand plus silk mohair, in Liv) and have not taken it off since. I highly recommend that pattern.
Aw thank you so much Eliana and so glad to hear you already are well acquainted with the magic of Nutiden!!! And I've been wanting to knit the hood for a long time and it would be spectacular in Liv! I actually just finished a test knit with Liv and knitting with this colour was just so thrilling. The colours felt like they were alive and dancing together. Just dreamy!!!
I have always been attracted to knitting. It gives me a cosy feeling, like when you are safe and warm at home. Since the last 5 years I have been knitting more garments and I feel like I am doing something creative as well as something useful. The accessory would probably be a pair of socks. I am really hoping to join the KAL ( I joined the group on RAV already) as I have a small amount of Nutiden and wasn't sure what to make with it it! Also really liking this Field of Gold sweater so much!
Couldn't agree more about that cozy feeling that knitting gives! And I (Carmen) am a garment knitter too and completely resonate with that feeling of doing something fun but that actually results in something useful as well. What an amazing combo! And we're so excited to have you part of the KAL and can't wait to see what you end up making! Oh, and in my opinion, the Fields of Gold sweater is an absolute MUST KNIT!
Wow, you are both full of fantastic knitty inspiration, I look forward to watching you again soon! I would love to try knitting colorwork mittens in Nutiden and would typically pair a sassy color with a neutral so both the inner introverted and extroverted sides of me can shine.
I just finished up a test knit in single-strand Nutiden with a colorwork yoke. Previously I always just knit straight from the plates, whether knitting single strand or double, but for the colorwork I went ahead and made single-strand balls for each color. I then put them in their own little metal mixing bowls on either side of me while I knit them and it worked wonderfully, as the balls bounced happily in their individual bowls and unwound themselves freely as I knitted with almost my usual (non-Nutiden) tension. I had almost no breaks at all this way, and count it totally worth the extra time to ball up the yarn! As far as an accessory I want to make of Nutiden this fall - I have in mind to create a wearable blanket bag for my very young baby. Sort of a sleeveless sweater to wear over her pajamas, that goes down past the feet and closes up at the bottom, to keep her warm in our very old and drafty house. I want her to feel happy and contented in it, so that's the mood I'm aiming for!
Bekah! We're kindred spirits bc I (Carmen) also find putting the balls in bowls makes it way easier! Haha I didn't bring any bowls to England with me but I could use regular dishes I guess. Haha if I got my act together to do so! And I looooove the project you have planned for your little one! What a lucky little lady!! Can't wait to see it!
Really enjoyed your 2nd (sort of hahaha) episode ! I would love to knit socks from. I would like to invite more intentionality and meditation vibes in my knitting. Knitting is a sacred a moment, but sometimes I realize I knit like I'm in a rush to finish something to cast on something else. You inspire me to be more into the moment and chose more wisely my projects.
Bahahahahaaha! Yes, who knows what number this episode is??? Haha the jury is out whether we'll ever decide an episode is worthy to be called "1"! And we're so happy to hear we've been inspiring you! I think all knitting is good knitting (even if it's a frantic rush to get to the next project) but it's also nice to experiment with doing things differently and see how it fits you! So glad to have you with us!
Sarah!!! You're one of our winners! We're making your giveaway gift right now! Can you dm Carmen on Insta (@carmen_acanadiangirl) or Ravelry (yogamomcan) so we can get your address? So excited to see what you think!
Thank you for sharing your experiences! I’ve been thinking for a while that I need to try unspun yarn and your podcast is inspiring me to finally buy some! I’d love to maybe start with a cowl, while I love shawls a cowl fits so well under a coat on a cold Montreal day. I tend to lean more to Jackie’s colour sense for garments but have a little Carmen in me too that comes out with accessories ;)
Ooooh I love that you're a combo of us both! And I (Carmen) have experienced many Montréal winters so I'm completely understand! Although I also love a shawl wrapped over a puffy coat on a cold day! And we're so happy to have inspired you to maybe try unspun!! We'd love to hear what you think!
Enjoying your podcast…I am very inspired now with knitting with unspun, particularly Nutiden and their beautiful , muted tones and story… a cowl or hat would be a great swatch for a future sweater!!!
Thank you for a wonderful podcast! I need knitting in my life. It makes me relax. I love to create wiht my hands. I have never knitted in Nutiden but I realy think it would be for me. I like to plan my projects carefully and love green - brown coloures.
Thank you so much for the podcast, and for the giveaway. The qualities that I'm trying to cultivate during these times are joy, strength and energy. :)
I would LOVE to try Nutiden yarn. I love making hats and I think bold contrast colors would be beautiful. I like a surprise 😀. While I adore a calm environment, my knitting tends to be more exciting for me, especially adding color. Thanks for bringing us a new interesting podcast with topics. I think I might try to buy some of this yarn at the next update.
Ooooh that's so exciting! I hope you do grab some and give it a try! haha although fair warning that once you go down this rabbit hole, it may be hard to ever leave it. We're still happily stuck way down it, with no desire or intentions to leave any time soon!!
Ooh what a wonderful question!!!! I hope to call self-love and care into my life with my knitting. I think knitting has done so much for me in terms of caring for myself by literally making beautiful things with my hands, stitch by stitch, for my body. It is a magical way to show love for myself (and for others!)
I am a Nutiden newbie, and just ordered my first Nutiden this past weekend. I'm excited to receive it and start playing with it. I feel confident to be more creative and play more freely with my knitting because of your inspiration. Maybe will start with something small like socks or a hat. :)
Thank you for the accessory inspiration. I have a small amount of this type of yarn, had no idea what I could do with it. Excited to go home and weigh it now. Hope I have 85g so I can make the mittens. I only have a light gray colour but it would go well with ALL the colours and give me the feeling of contentment and joy simultaneously 😇. I am really enjoying your conversations over here in New Zealand. 🌏🌊🌨
Oh this is so exciting to have inspired you to cast on with your Nutiden Tracey! I hope you have enough and we would love to see what you make!! And thank you so much for the kind words about the podcast; it means so much to hear that others are enjoying our ramblings!!!
I had never heard of Nutiden- very cool adore that blue. Sad to see it is currently sold out. Signed up for the newsletter and look forward to getting some for myself!
So glad we could introduce you to Nutiden Carla! Yes, the colour ways are always one of a kind and once they're sold out, that's it. Thank goodness though, there are always more beauties being created! There is an August shop update coming up with some gorgeous colours, including an amazing tealy green. Hopefully you'll be able to grab something you love! Oh, and Caroline (the maker) also posts on Instagram about the shop updates and upcoming colours so that's a way to find things out too. Her IG is @honerocheir
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 oh my goodness yes!! Now I have taught clients of mine to knit as a mindful practice and as a means of mitigating anxious symptoms. Additionally, it is also a form of self care as you know! 😍🧶
Hello Carmen & Jackie, Just learned of your Podcast last night from “Knit My Way Home “. Have been wanting to knit with unsound yarn for 3 years, but have been afraid until watching and listening to the 2 of you. Have done several color work sweaters and a pair of mitts. Was not aware one could use Nutiden yarn to make a hat. Now I’m “Jacked” and can’t wait to get some yarn and go for it. I’m a lot like Carmen and like to explore everything and sometimes without a plan in place. Love bright, happy colors. Cannot wait for your next Podcast. Will this one be #1?
Yay Gwyn!! We're so glad to have you join us and that you're enjoying the podcast!! And also that you're into bright happy colours like I am! ;) I hope that we have inspired you to give unspun a chance (although fair warning, it really is a rabbit hole that you may never want to climb out of)! Haha and YES we FINALLY made it to 1.0! haha what's different about this one than the others? Honestly, I have no idea! But at least we've finally made it to whole numbers!!
Thank you for a wonderful episode! Feeling very inspired right now. I would like to knit a matching pair of mittens and a hat or maybe socks. I feel like I need purple of any kind and dark colors in my life. I love my stash, but while planning for the KAL I've started to figure out that I barely have enough contrast using anything in my stash. I really love the combination of Lola and Kvarts. So muted and neutral, but still with color
Vera! A woman after my own heart with your love for dark colours, and especially purple! And we're so glad we can inspire you! We're so excited to see what you end up coming up with for the KAL!!
I bought the Fields of Gold and now have TWO fabulous Nutiden patterns to make this fall! I wanted to post here, though to see if anyone may want about 450g of Tallbark? I ended up purchasing more than I needed and am happy to give it away (free) to a happy home. Would you all want to add it into the give-away for the pattern? Wonderful episode, thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and joy!
Lily!!! What a beautiful offer and we would LOOOOVE to facilitate this! We'll message you directly and figure it all out! Maybe it could be an additional prize for this giveaway or we could announce it in our next episode and it could be a shared prize to start the KAL? I'm thinking we could even split it and Jackie and I each provide enough of a contrast colour or something? We'll talk!!! And sooooo glad you're doing Fields of Gold!! It's one of the best patterns I've EVER knitted!!!
Hello from Nova Scotia, love your pod cast , I found you two from the knitting my way home pod cast.I have never knit with un-spun before but hope to get some the next update…I think the pattern would look great in mittens and a yoke sweater .I love all Colours but mostly knit in neutrals with a splash of colour in a pattern .
Hi Goril! Thank you so much for the comments and we're so glad you're enjoying the podcast and are part of our community! And there is actually a Nutiden update right now and there are still colour ways left if you want to give it a try!
You could also use a provisional caston for your sweater to knit the yoke and then take out your provisional caston to knit the rest bottom down. I have knitted one colorwork yoke sweater this way.
I almost bought Nutiden in a recent update, but I talked myself out of it, because I didn't know what to make or how much I'd need. This podcast was so helpful! I would love to make fingerless mitts in moody gray/blues. Love Jackie's Magnolia Bloom sweater in that blue!!
It can be so overwhelming at first, for sure! Hopefully you're getting some more info about it and might take the plunge sometime soon! Honestly, the yarn stretches really far so even a couple of plates can result in lots of options!
Love your podcast ladies 💕 it’s good to know that I’m not the only one with this obsession 😃 it’s some kind of meditation to knit with nutiden and most of all I like knit faded garments with different tones ❤️🧶
Knitting is my Yoga, it keeps me calm in times of stress. Love hearing about Nutiden, you both make me want to reach through the screen and touch it. I can understand the love, after watching both your episodes. Love blues, pinks and greys, trying to try introducing pumpkins and creamy whites. I would love to make a hat or winter headband!
Oh, I just love you and your energy 💕💕💕 Can’t wait for next episode and the start of the KAL. And thank you for your beautiful words about my recipes 🙏🙏🙏 And I will sure help you Carmen to finish your sweater 💪💪💪
AWWWWW!!! Annelie!! I knew you would be ready to help! You are so completely generous with your knitting genius and you inspire all of us!! I still cannot wait to see your amazing top-down, circular yoke for the KAL. So amazing!! Knitting is just incredible in its ability to bring incredible people like you into our lives!! Thank you!!
What a great episode. And thank you, I’ve been curious about unspun yarn, so this was perfect timing. And I was able to become a patron of Caroline’s. so excited! I think I will knit a colour work shawl to start.
Oh yay!!! So glad to hear you've joined the Patreon! It's such a beautiful community of loving people!! And cannot wait to see the shawl you make. Nutiden is just so perfect as a shawl, as it absolutely wraps you up in love and comfort!
hello!:) you're excitement is contagious. I would love to try some of this yarn whenever it's available again. I'm excited to join your KAL and had a moment of inspiration to knit the motif into a cowl for myself. I hope for it to embody joyous confidence as I continue to explore all the ways knitting is bringing joy to my life.
Oh Laura, we're so happy to hear all of this! Can't wait to see what you make! And the next Nutiden update is August 14th at 7am CEST! Maybe some will find its way into your life!!
Aw Fran! You sound like a perfect combo of the two of us!! So glad to have you part of our community and thank you so much for your beautiful comment!
How generous of you to share the story and your yarn. I look to my knitting as an escape from the rest of reality. Not that I don’t have stress or frustration with it but it’s different.
We couldn't understand more Karla!!
I'm so loving your podcasts! Knitting brings me calm and peacefulness. It's my meditation.
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 I'm convinced! Got my alarm set for 1 am next Sunday 😉
All Nutiden colours are fabulous, so ... surprise?
Yay Dora! Welcome! And we love that you know Nutiden first hand and understand our obsession! Cannot wait to see what you come up with for the KAL!!!
Yes indeed to all of this! And I'm so excited for Fields of Gold, Bella!
I am POSITIVE you will love it!!!
I hope you two keep on with this. It’s so much fun watching your thought process.
Aw that is so lovely and encouraging to hear Doris!! Thank you so much!!
My knitting is my meditation. It calms me in this crazy world. I love earth tones and all the muted colors from nature.
This is beautiful! Thank you for your comment Cathy!!!
Hi Gaby - calm and serenity is something I think we all need. We are primarily garment knitters so there will be many more to come!
Oh this is perfect and exactly what we're looking for. And we couldn't agree more about what knitting brings! Thank you!!!
What beautiful words Katie and we're so happy we could inspire you! So hope you get your hands on some Nutiden soon!

So happy to have you with us Anne and so glad we've inspired you to join us in the KAL! Can't wait to see how your cowl turns out!
Oh Meghan!!! We can't wait to see!!!!
Enjoying your podcast. Happy to be a part of this worldwide community. Nutiden for me is pure happiness.
We're so happy to have you Sue!! And oh, I'm now picturing yellow, blue, and gray all together and feeling a beautiful ocean vibe. So calming!!
You two are very engaging - I really enjoyed your bonus episode (.75) and will be watching for more. Nutiden is new to me, and I’m intrigued - the KAL sounds like a nice new challenge.
Aw thank you so much for such kind words Susan!! So glad to have you with us and hope that you do choose to participate in the KAL!!
I think a feeling of calm and relaxation. It can be exaltation as well when I discover some new clever techniques ...
So beautifully said!
Oh we're so glad you liked it and so happy to have you with us!! haha and you're speaking to my (Carmen's) soul with your cooler and darker shades!
Yay Judith!! We're so happy to have you join us and we can't wait to see what you end up making! Love the pop of colour idea so much!!!

Aw Jennifer, I (Carmen) love this so much and couldn't agree more about the stress-reduction abilities of knitting! So glad to have you with us!

I enjoyed your podcast. I hope you do more. I have been wanting to try Nutiden. My knitting always makes me happy even when in the FROG pond.
Haha the "Frog Pond"!!! Love that so much! And I totally agree!
I like your podcast 💙 and your love to nutiden, just like me.
It feels like I find home the first time I knit with nutiden.
The feel of the yarn on my skin is like a healing energi.
When I knit whit nutiden you need to "be in the now"
Its healing for my mind and soul
Oh this is so beautifully said and we couldn't agree more!!!
I’ve never knitted in nutiden and would love to try it. To be honest it depends on my mood and season as to what I am drawn to but having said that the colors that Carmen was putting together, the bold, loud ones really spoke to me.
Aw so glad to have another member of the Bold Colour Crew! haha!
Such great podcast, so much great energy and fun. I like knitting hat and mitten set would be sweet. Hope to see you soon. Happy knitting!
Thank you so much Peggy!!!! We're so glad you are enjoying our intensity! haha

Oh my God the fields of gold sweater looks amazing on you Carmen 🥰
Aw thank you Carolina!!! I loooove that sweater sooo much!!

Ooh Ramona, you sound like a perfect combo of the two of us! And we're so glad to have inspired you! Can't wait to see what you come up with!!
The accessory that I’d like to knit is a scarf or a lap blanket and the feeling that I’d like to get is joy.
Beautiful!!!
Enjoying your podcast…I am very inspired now with knitting with unspun, particularly Nutiden and their beautiful , muted tones and story… a cowl or hat would be a great swatch for a future sweater!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely words Tanya and we're so happy to have you with us!
Thank you for a wonderful podcast! I need knitting in my life. It makes me relax. I love to create wiht my hands. I have never knitted in Nutiden but I realy think it would be for me. I like to plan my projects carefully and love green - brown coloures.
You are so welcome and we're so glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for the podcast, and for the giveaway. The qualities that I'm trying to cultivate during these times are joy, strength and energy. :)
So beautiful Maria! Thank you for commenting!!
Yes yes yes to all of this. Jasmyne, you are speaking my (Jackie) love language. Thank you for sharing this.
Both of your knits are Gorgeous!! Would love to try some of the rich colors of nutiden. Thanks for hanging out!
Thank you so much Susie!! So happy to have you with us!!!
I am a Nutiden newbie, and just ordered my first Nutiden this past weekend. I'm excited to receive it and start playing with it. I feel confident to be more creative and play more freely with my knitting because of your inspiration. Maybe will start with something small like socks or a hat. :)
Oh my goodness, how exciting Maria! Has it arrived yet?? Would love to know what you think!!
I want to have a fabulous new school year with my students. I love shawls! I want to add more calmness into my classroom.
Aw Kim, yes!! How lovely and those kids are so lucky to have such a caring and intentional teacher! We're adding our energy to your evocation!!!
Fellow therapist here - totally enjoying your podcast!!
Oh yay! Love a fellow therapist! I (Carmen) dream of one day running a knitting/therapy group. How delightful would that be?
@@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 oh my goodness yes!! Now I have taught clients of mine to knit as a mindful practice and as a means of mitigating anxious symptoms. Additionally, it is also a form of self care as you know! 😍🧶
I’m looking to call peace and serenity into my life. I use my knitting as my meditation daily to invite calm to my mind.
Love this and we absolutely do the same!
Unspun yarn.
My knitting is always calming and meditative. I really enjoyed your podcast.
Thanks Stephanie! Calming + meditative 💌
Wow, that’s very generous of you! I’ve never used Nutiden yarn and would love to try some. Adding it to the giveaways would be great too!
Oh that's so smart! Thank you Jodi!!!
Kristine! So nice to see you! I (Carmen) love your knitting! We are definitely kindred spirits!!
Knitting is such a balm isn't it! 100% feel the same about wanting to reach through the screen. So glad you are here!
I think I’ll make mittens with the lucky charm packs in my only (silly me) nutiden order. Thankyou for the encouragement to knit with this lovely yarn
Oh how exciting! We would loooove to know what you think!!
Also, I (Carmen) made some lovely Moorland Mittens by Tania Barley that were just delightful in Nutiden (I actually made two pairs)!
Question , can you steel Nutiden? How thick must the yarn be? Thanks Love your videos.
Hi Deborah!! Yes you can! I (Carmen) have not steeked yet (not with any yarn!), but I know many people have and they have no trouble!!
Thanks
hello!:) you're excitement is contagious.
