I love this and just wanna add a little something I learned personally. God was hard on the Israelites because they weren't using their "manna season" to prepare themselves for the "milk and honey" season. All the complaining they did, despite the hardship, was a waste of precious time and kept them from learning and growing, which is what thwy needed after years of Tyranny. The complaining and resistance to learn kept them out of Canaan (the ultimate destination). In order to get to the promised land we need to go through a season of desert. It's the struggles in the desert that prepare you for the struggles in the promised land which are much greater but much more fruitful. The Israelites wouldn't have been able to handle the struggles in Canaan if they couldn't obtain the lessons in the desert, which is ultimately reliance on God. Hope this encourages somebody whose currently enduring their desert season. Remember. He didn't call you to Manna. He called you to Milk and Honey.
IF that's how it works. I want out. There is no reward I can see that will be great enough to justify the suffering and losses I have had to endure and will likely have to deal with in the future. There is a thing as taking a test too far.
This is what it meant by putting the snake on the staff and getting the Israelites to go and look at the snake. It’s facing their fears, so then no matter what snake bites them they have the bravery to deal with it without dying. A metaphorical snakebite is betrayal by friends or family, or one of many many many other tragedies in life. Facing fears, is unbelievably rewarding.
It's a test type of christ . As the serpent was raised, so was christ Jesus also raised. It's also linked to the serpent in Genesis, the serpent was judged in Genesis . Read it carefully the serpent was a beast , the snake is the symbol of sin judged, like Jesus who knew no sin became sin and we need to do is look unto Jesus Christ and accept his work on the cross as the atonement for our sin , look believe, receive and live.
Incorrect, the snake represents sin and the idolatry they (Israel) left behind in Egypt. It was a foreshadowing of the Messiah who became sin so that you might have life and live. Looking at the snake was an act of faith. Read the Bible and don’t take biblical advice from a man who hasn’t accepted Yeshua as his savior / JP is smart but isn’t lead by the Holy Spirit. Man’s logic leads to hell.
@@reamartin6458Okay, so following your last statement... Since I'm a man, would the logical inferences I derive from reading the Bible be "from hell" (or towards it, etc.)? Where should a man draw the line in the quest for spiritual truth and pure pragmatism?

As a rock climber who has climbed over 1000 feet, you learn that you never stop being afraid. The fear gets quieter as you get braver. And you do realize that as you get braver, when facing the rock, you get braver in general. The concept of "God as the Call to Adventure" uses examples from Abrahamic stories. - Abraham's call to adventure by God leads him out of his comfort zone and into a series of challenges and hardships. - The narrative compares this individual call to adventure with Moses' call to lead his people out of Egyptian tyranny. - The story highlights that escaping tyranny might not immediately lead to better circumstances, as the Israelites face challenges and lose faith in the desert. - The discussion delves into the idea of worship, the symbolism of the snake, and the significance of facing fears and challenges voluntarily.
Just like the snake statue in the desert, Jesus takes out the poison. He took it on for us. If you believe in Him, your sins are forgiven. Sin still causes pain, but since our souls are eternal, once you believe, Jesus’ payment for our sin is applied and we have eternal life - we will only die a physical death - but will live forever in heaven with Him, instead of in hell. Jesus makes us new - alive spiritually - born again.
Fun fact: the Portuguese bible translation for "blessed", like in the Mount's Sermon, instead of the literal "abençoado", it's "bem-aventurado", which means "well-adventured" 🤯❤️🔥💯
JP's explanation and connection of the story of Moses to Abraham leaving his tent and his abstraction of the concepts in those stories to the modern day and where they might be applicable touches me very deeply. Its so profound its not even funny. Ha!
Here is a serious question: Why should we want "adventure"? You know in modern day society, an actual adventure might lead to homelessness or imprisonment, or even a "real big" adventure (death).
But what options do you have that doesnt affect you negatively other than adventure? Adventure will bring the most potential out of you, no other than that will
@@butterfox7442 yup, and if no one ever took a leap of faith and embraced their “adventure” human civilization would never move forward. Every person in history who made a difference became an outlier and embraced their adventure in some sense.
Yep, but what makes you think that these are bad things ? And why would you believe that the only way to avoid prison or injury is to sit on a couch and be a potato ?
Moses' story is a shadow(metaphor) of Jesus story (the reality). Disobedience is lawlessness and lawlessness is sin that brings death. 1 John 3:4 Jesus the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world so that we might have life (Righteousness and Salvation). 1 John 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:21. Whiles the Israelites looked at the snake and were saved, today when we look at Jesus we are save. Hallelujah, praise be to God.
It's quite nice to have someone who has read the book but it is very difficult to put in perspective the explanation of one person's view or perspective to subject others to presume to think that some intelligence is already scrutinize the word of life
The bronze serpent is explicitly identified with Christ and curiously implicitly identified with the serpent in Eden. Interestingly, all three characters share the purpose of raising consciousness/knowledge in humans of good and evil, their consequences, and how to deal with them rightly.
Dear Jordan, the answer to your question about what God tells Moses to do about the snakes is this: the snake is made of copper. Copper represents repentance in the Bible. That's why the horns of the altar in the courtyard of the tabernacle were made of copper. The snake was to be put on a pole, not just so everyone could see it, but because of this: The Bible states that 'cursed is he whom is hung on a tree'. The word for 'tree' can also be translated to 'pole'. Later, Jesus would be hung on a cross (which is essentially a wooden pole), to die for all the transgressions, stiff-headedness and sickness of all humans who believe in Him.

Luke 15:3-7 (KJV) 3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

The course that God had in place for them tested there’s commitment, ring now use. This is an archetypical dialogue of coming to know. Professor , I bet I understand what you are tryna say . It’s worth pondering how to define Adventures . Humans might take advantage / abuse being adventurous … am I not correct ?? Idk 🤷🏻♀️
Read what Jesus Christ said about the snake lifted by Moses in the wilderness in John 3:14,15,16. This how the Lord and Saviour of all humankind understood it. I love to listen to Dr. Peterson speak but he has the potential lead a lot of people away from the Truth until he acknowledges that the Jesus Christ is the truth, the life and the way. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish each other in the Lord”.
What I understood from this is "the snake" can be seen as the "obstacle" that one may come across at times in life. No matter how good it may seem one has it you may get bit and still have to find a way to get through what you may be going through. But hey I may have interpreted this all wrong. Ha!!!!
Abrams first clue it was time to find new residence was when his dad offered him as a human sacrifice... hence the even greater power of God's command later on w/ Isaac
I had a different revelation on this. The snake represent the venom and death and those afflicted by its venom should look at the snake on the staff to be cured. Now listen closely, Jesus on the cross represents the sin of the whole world, and in order to be free from sin you have to look at Christ, you have to turn to Him. God is truly great. ❤
Alot of interpretation.... with so little questioning. Bold and Amusing.... no harm.... dare to wander, folks. Follow your heart... Faith. Not Fear. Humans and their proof.... oooof. 2023. How can any one of us judge the other? This will become a peace treaty for future generations... or a Holy War of epic proportions. Personally.... I'd rather die on my feet for a worthy worldly beneficial cause... than to disgrace the blood of my ancestors OR YOURS by bowing down in pre-defeat on my knees in surrender while our women and children are blatantly trafficked and sold and our men used as work steeds then sold for glue as if their labor were meaningless.... It's unacceptable. We are HUMANS. Disgraceful humans that cant even recognize the Son... none fit to judge. Abuse of innocence.. it is enraging! No one here is perfect, and be any, let him first cast a stone at me! I'm not hard to find, ever... Accountability.... Grace.... is a process. Humble pie for everyone, We are all just leading each other home. And this home... This home Will not be like the last... To all our fallen... Nothing has been done in vain. Sometimes one small act of kindness can change a person's life.... Sometimes... it can also change the world. 😏😘

This man’s brain is such a treat. He’s so analytical
Three. Good actions, we change the rhythm of the camera affect of the parish.
Stay woke Jordan!
When God saves you he gives you a new heart and with that new heart you get a mind that can understand spiritual things threw the Holy Spirit
thank you 💯
Moses' story is a shadow(metaphor) of Jesus story (the reality).
Disobedience is lawlessness and lawlessness is sin that brings death. 1 John 3:4
Jesus the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world so that we might have life (Righteousness and Salvation). 1 John 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Whiles the Israelites looked at the snake and were saved, today when we look at Jesus we are save.
Hallelujah, praise be to God.
It's quite nice to have someone who has read the book but it is very difficult to put in perspective the explanation of one person's view or perspective to subject others to presume to think that some intelligence is already scrutinize the word of life
Please where I can find the full lecture ?😊
The bronze serpent is explicitly identified with Christ and curiously implicitly identified with the serpent in Eden. Interestingly, all three characters share the purpose of raising consciousness/knowledge in humans of good and evil, their consequences, and how to deal with them rightly.
Dear Jordan, the answer to your question about what God tells Moses to do about the snakes is this: the snake is made of copper. Copper represents repentance in the Bible. That's why the horns of the altar in the courtyard of the tabernacle were made of copper.
The snake was to be put on a pole, not just so everyone could see it, but because of this:
The Bible states that 'cursed is he whom is hung on a tree'. The word for 'tree' can also be translated to 'pole'. Later, Jesus would be hung on a cross (which is essentially a wooden pole), to die for all the transgressions, stiff-headedness and sickness of all humans who believe in Him.
JBP mentions the "terrible nineties" in Russia. Yes, and who cleaned that mess up? A clue: what leader in the world today is vastly superior in intelligence and strength of character, in strategic skill and statesmanship to any NATO leader? By the way, great talk!
0:00: 📜 The story of Abraham and Moses highlights the necessity and difficulty of embarking on an adventure or leaving a state of tyranny, as it may initially worsen the situation before improvement.
3:57: 🗒 The Israelites lose faith in their freedom and start worshiping false idols.
7:09: 🐍 The act of worship means to imitate and celebrate, but how do you know when a belief is wrong or valid?
10:23: 🐍 The story of Moses and the bronze snake is strange and puzzling, with Christ later referencing it.
13:46: 🗣 The power of speech in therapy and facing fears.
17:23: 🐍 Facing fears voluntarily can make people braver and better off.

Luke 15:3-7 (KJV)
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.
Like all great cities, like Alexandra, which was the beginning of the age of the Aquarius. We lasted after knowledge and use it to hinder and harm other, humans were not sharing the knowledge, visualiser synonyms of the desert because they had to knowledge and were sharing it and watching me
so revisit is also just looking inward
This is what made me interested in JP!! Awesome biblical analysis!
Well said. You don't need to be a Christian to benefit from it.
You saved me
Jordan Peterson if you haven’t already accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please do it as soon as possible. Time is running out
I thought he did like 2 years ago?
The knowledge that I have comes from the universe. It comes in bits and pieces as Tiger me feel this age of 56 to compile into commonsense.
The course that God had in place for them tested there’s commitment, ring now use. This is an archetypical dialogue of coming to know. God consciousness that we are that which we experience through the universe, and how the universe works for us. This is called coming to the light. We have been in darkness for more than 20,45 years.
Brilliant.
Thinking might be the best way to travel, but procrastination might be a sin…so, how do we know when it’s time to go?
(Probably when Jordan starts talking like this…)

I love how at 3:14 when he says "worse" his whole body glows red
well no one saw this comment except me. But this actually made me laugh
I’d love to know what talk this is from specifically. I’m a DailyWire subscriber but it would save me having to go through each lecture to find the right one!
As the serpent was raised up, by Moses in the wilderness... so is the son of man raised up.
The idea that it needs to be intense is new, but the idea itself is older than Abraham.
My fear has always and will forever be abandonment.
That was an interesting take on the story.
World really gonna end , peterson somehow teaching about God
What is the full video titled? I can’t find it on DW+
i recently saw a recently posted video, where Jesus said to the disciples that the devil is like the farmer to the wheat.
It’s spontaneous
Professor , I bet I understand what you are tryna say . It’s worth pondering how to define Adventures . Humans might take advantage / abuse being adventurous … am I not correct ?? Idk 🤷🏻♀️
Because your intuition shoes so so
I woukd recommend reading R. C. Sproul's "The Holiness of God" or watch a few of his lectures.
World class.
Aluminum equals the “ Silver”/ feminine
What I understood from this is "the snake" can be seen as the "obstacle" that one may come across at times in life. No matter how good it may seem one has it you may get bit and still have to find a way to get through what you may be going through. But hey I may have interpreted this all wrong. Ha!!!!

The snakes will always be there but face them
I had a different revelation on this.
When we are all here for one common reason: To break the chains... the generational curses, the psychological manipulation, save ALL OF the children...the cuffs of addiction, the implemented guilt...and escape the tyranny of modern government...?
This home

Does anyone know where the full video is?
Jesus death means salvation from death... The snake atop Moses' staff also represented "salvation" from the snake venom, and death.
A little bit of a folksy style -- which I enjoy -- but it makes some critics miss the real wisdom of JBP (when he's being wise!).
