I can't wait for the rules for this game to come out. It's going to be a blast making these up with my daughter so we can battle each other at the kitchen table. We made up GasLands teams together and had a blast. Still have to make some Tonks though... we'll get there eventually.
Same here! Scratch building is gonna save my wallet from the GunPla menace, and having a game to play with them is going to kick it to the next level lol
YT won't allow me to see the 2 answers it says there should be... come on, you neotrotskysts from California, are there seriously anti globalization and anti woke comments in this channel??!
Love how you went back and turned the beadbot weapons into a universal system, that was a great pivot! Can’t wait to see the next Bangarang build. You gotta make a fork hand weapon now!
FYI @ 16:00- They are likely "window shims" they're plastic strips, usually thin wedges for installing windows. They're used to center the window casement/frame in the wall opening, before installing trim. 👍
A few streamers I follow have been complaining about the quality of green stuff lately. I don't know if that's coincidence or there's something going on. There's an old product model makers have been using for years called Apoxie Sculpt that a few miniature maker/painters are catching on to. It comes in bigger amounts, so it's more initial outlay, but I'm pretty sure it works out cheaper when you do the maths. It's pretty great to work with from everything I've heard.
I do like the magnet hands! That green wire you call"holiday wire" is called floral wire in the U.S., it's used for floral arrangements, among other things. Some people also use in the garden.
Greenstuff is softer when heated. Put it in a micorwave for 5 seconds or under some hot ťap water. Works for me. Also do cut out the middle part if the greenstuff strip, otherwise you will have hard lumps in your mix
Recently came across your channel and I bloody love it. Take my sub. You’ve inspired my son and I to make little monsters and robots and that’s a miracle in itself as I have no artistic skills whatsoever and I’m enjoying it more than him. Thank you so much Bill.
I use a screw eye hook clamped in a drill for doing quick winds of double (triple, quadruple), instead of clamping in the drill, makes nice and neat round ends on the wire and quick if you're making multiple wires.
I see someone googled "Shepard Tone". In the future Bills videos will be 10 minutes of just waiting for his sketchbook to drop, and for unknown reasons i will continue to watch it.
I used to make stuff like this a long time ago, but kinda lost touch with it, in place of traditional wargame models and such. I am inspired to get back into it!
Greenstuff (stupidly) comes with the two parts attatched together, so the inside is always curing/cured. To avoid the harder bits mixing with the rest it's best to cut the middle part, if you have two small containers I'd say separate the entire thing at once and put a side in each, also makes it easier to guess how much you need by pinching it out with each hand rather than cutting it.
I have an attachment idea. An electric based attachment that does not so much damage but if it hits it reduces the number of actions the target gets its next turn.
Just a suggestion Bill. To not lose your weapon-hand accesories when not on the figures, just use a metal ruler and attach them to that. You did put magnets in them after all !!! Kind of obvious really. But hey - ho, you're the famous one! Otherwise, great job and grat video, keep up the good work mate!
So, when you get greenstuff in those strips next to each other, you should separate the blue and yellow ASAP, as they're reacting with each other just sitting next to themselves. You'll end up with a harder bit inbetween the two strips if you leave them together and it'll be harder to mix.
Could use some stabbing hands. Yeah, big stabby hands with the stabbers all lined up, maybe tapered towards the bottom. The kind of stabbers that could perforated a whole line of red coats, or serve a whole bunch of spegehti.
You have so many good ideas. I have been making a DnD world for the last three odd years, that is similar to your Gutterlands ( A Conan the barbarian, Mad Max, fallout kind of world). Each episode just gives me new inspiration.
Back when the original bangarang video came out I was really hoping that you'd make a meaty one at some point. This video doesn't disappoint, great work!
The empty tubes in ball-point pens (where the ink goes) are an excellent substitute for the ear-swab plastic tubes. I always use them, so as to not reduce my precious cache of ear-swab plastic tubes! Someday they will be worth some serious MONEY!
I like the idea of the weapons being universal. They could be kept under lock and key by the arena managers and then distributed before the bout/match/fight?..I mean without the weapons these guys are pretty 'armless...And the hazard stripes look great, they remind everyone that guns and blades are hazardous
Swapping over to the hazard stripes on the hands was a great move. Saves you from having to rebuild neat weapons when you have odd ball parts that you can't source. i also like how it gives a sense of unity to the models! Shame about the forks, though.
Is the reason there's no meaty/organic style weapon because the weapons will all be interchangeable across the factions? Glad you enjoyed using green stuff! It's a great tool to have and quite friendly to use I think, as long as you don't eat it. If you mix more yellow when you mix it up it's more malleable but takes longer to cure, and if you mix more of the blue it has the opposite effect and cures faster. Great stuff Bill, look forward to seeing the next one!
I imagine it's like Bill said: getting the organic weapons to work is hard, when you barely understand how to mold or set the Old Flesh. Turning the Old Flesh into something grafted onto a mechanical frame is comparatively simple. Whereas making one that shoots teeth or spits caustic chemicals is more difficult. For many bot makers, it's easier to make the bot and give it the same weapons purely mechanical bots use. Honestly, I can imagine in-universe there's a lot of weapons trading. Or betting weapons on the result of a bot battle, like a post-apocalyptic MedaBots. Making these parts universal is convenient for the makers, as they can then make use of whatever they win or trade. (Not to mention this universal plug system might be a holdover from the old wars, when battle automata had modular weapons by default. Many are fished out of junk piles and refurbished.) Back to the matter of meat, I imagine there _could_ be organic weapons knocking about. But these are usually stuff you find in the Meat Mountain, or chopped off a monster. Again, no one really knows how to make them anymore, so you need to find them. Maybe cutting open a cancerous growth jutting from the ground and pulling a half-formed Teeth Gun from it. Graft on the requisite mechanical bits to get it working, and Bob's your uncle.
Those pen nib grenades turned out great, love that detail! I used to always think it looked bullet-like as a kid, when i would take my pens apart instead of doing homework lol.
Hehe It's called a wingnut, Bill. Amazing as always, you are definitely talented. I hope my first scratchbuild looks half as good as the ones you've thrown away.
If you havnt had the idea already for an extended storietelling for your universe : A natural faction made of wood, spores and vegetal items trying to overcome the lethal radioactive, dust and metal piles. Like Nature fighting to regain power on the surface of the planete.
Isn’t this ep 74? Anyhow, really hooked by your channel, just like when I was a kid, and we would get a new episode of Battle of the Planets (the Gatchaman anime, filtered for western kids) every saturday evening...
Can confirm. Children are always trying to bring about their end. Whether it be holding each other down in the bath to train holding their breath, or filling their mouth with food and having a gasping competition; open-mouthed coughing drills are also important.
@Bill I’m loving the bangarang bots, a few random thoughts that popped in my head, can a bot have more that 2 arms, thus it could carry more weapons, also is there room in the game for having magnetic lower bodies like the bot can now use tonk treads or have 4 legs or tentacles or a rocket and it flys/can bots fly in the gutter lands, apologies for my word vomit, I feel like I’m in a safe space for such shenanigans, thanks for continuing to share
it's been so great following you for all this time and watching you improve! the pacing of this episode was GREAT, the flow was so smooth and consistent, I loved it, and the build too :D
Why is it everytime I watch you, my dog does too? Oh that’s right. It’s the music and sounds! He sits up, pays attention and intensely watches. At least I know what to put on while I leave the house now. However I will hide the beads and glue. God knows what he could make!
Long time lurker, first time commenter. Last time I bought the "generic holiday wire" at the dollar store it was a "floral wire" I still bought it in the crafts section so I don't know if the distinction between the two would matter in your part of the world but maybe check the flower section
"What's that behind you?" Ha! It makes me think of the Al Chestbreach Fallout videos where he'd cheat to unlock something, and while doing it he'd say something like "What's that at your window it's a PIGEON AND HE'S GOT A KNIFE!! Oh it's fine he left." I suppose you could have called the game "Blitzkrieg Bots", but I just Googled it and found out there's a little piece of music titled that, but it's from the Emoji Movie so I don't think anyone knows about it. I really like these builds. The little interchangeable weapons really appeal to the little kid part of me that still yearns to play with action figures. And that grenade launcher looks so cool! I didn't know how you were going to make it look like a launcher and not a generic gun, but the nibs really pulled it off.
Bill, if you havent seen it already watch "The Blood Of Heros" amazing movie that im sure youd love. Mad maxish themes, probably my favorite movie of all time.

I love seeing the two minis side-by-side so you can see how immediately identifiable the different types are. Very nice design work.
The hazard stripes are very robot wars, which fits. These are class Bill.
Put together a magnetic holder for the weapons. That way they are all together and don't get lost! You could jazz it up for the arena.
I can't wait for the rules for this game to come out. It's going to be a blast making these up with my daughter so we can battle each other at the kitchen table. We made up GasLands teams together and had a blast. Still have to make some Tonks though... we'll get there eventually.

YT won't allow me to see the 2 answers it says there should be... come on, you neotrotskysts from California, are there seriously anti globalization and anti woke comments in this channel??!
Both the RUclips ads for this were "meat-related"... coincidence? Looking forward to sink my teeth into this video! xoxo
Waiter! Waiter! More biomechanical symbionts!
Rewatching this now and gotten an Domino's ad
And I just got one for a McDonald’s cheeseburger! Ha ha ha
Cant relate,im premium😎
13:40 maybe the lore reason that everyone hunches in the Gutterlands could be that Tapu has stronger gravity than a lot of other planets
Love how you went back and turned the beadbot weapons into a universal system, that was a great pivot! Can’t wait to see the next Bangarang build. You gotta make a fork hand weapon now!

Thank you so much Bill for introducing me to this hobby, which has become a big part of my life. Always love to see your new videos!
Same. My craft space looks like a landfill in an abandoned Toys-R-Us

"Ask your local bumble bee", now that is a sentence your do not hear everyday... Great video Bill!
Loving the mini series! It was me!! I was really enjoying it, and I’m being inspired to make my own little guy
Greenstuff is softer when heated. Put it in a micorwave for 5 seconds or under some hot ťap water. Works for me.

Fantastic work, Bill!
Im really digging how universal the weapons are.
May your meaty one's enemies feel a butcher shop's worth of pain in the pit.
Looking great as always ! The gutterland universe keeps expanding !
I freaking love these bots Bill!
You have the most soothing personality, and I'm happy to have found your content. Thank you.
To build on the previous idea of adding emblems as your model does more fights, meaty ones could gain new scars or burns and such perhaps
I used to make stuff like this a long time ago, but kinda lost touch with it, in place of traditional wargame models and such. I am inspired to get back into it!

I found this
You can mix green stuff and milliput together and get the best properties of both.
Looks amazing! So impressed with the interchangeable weapons 👏 Hazard stripes were a good shout 👌
I have an attachment idea. An electric based attachment that does not so much damage but if it hits it reduces the number of actions the target gets its next turn.

I really like these modular figures you’re doing. I may have to borrow that idea for my bots too 👀
So, when you get greenstuff in those strips next to each other, you should separate the blue and yellow ASAP, as they're reacting with each other just sitting next to themselves. You'll end up with a harder bit inbetween the two strips if you leave them together and it'll be harder to mix.

Justice for Cat! 😊
That's some good looking meat you have there, Bill!
Thank you, Bill. Always a pleasure to see you create.

You always have the best lore for everything. Very refreshing to hear all these unique ideas I've never even thought of before.
If you want something a bit more rubbery as well you could do the old sfx artist trick of cotton and liquid latex to make flesh
One of the most underrated channels. I look forward to every vid.
I got around the polarity issue by using half the amount of magnets. I put a little bit of ferrous metal in my minis, that the magnets can get hold of
Great bot Bill, thanks. Just what I needed. I'm sick 😷Can't wait to see an Upper. Love you. Best to cat (make your own fork hands! 🤗
Back when the original bangarang video came out I was really hoping that you'd make a meaty one at some point. This video doesn't disappoint, great work!
Love how the world of Gutterlands has developed over time!

Actually, Bangarang it's a comicbook store here in Valencia (Spain)
That's a hell of a porterhouse!

I rather like the idea that the hands are “universal” but also you can clearly tell what bot it came from.
Is the reason there's no meaty/organic style weapon because the weapons will all be interchangeable across the factions?

@@Bluecho4 Good points!
@@Bluecho4 great points and glad megabots was used for reference
Great build, as always!! The little "bead tube thingies" are bugle beads.
Those pen nib grenades turned out great, love that detail! I used to always think it looked bullet-like as a kid, when i would take my pens apart instead of doing homework lol.
Very cool. Very excited about the game and these builds are fantastic.
Hehe It's called a wingnut, Bill. Amazing as always, you are definitely talented. I hope my first scratchbuild looks half as good as the ones you've thrown away.
I love the videos! They are always very entertaining! The meaty ones are great! Also the magnet hands/weapons are a brilliant idea!
Oh no! Used to take the plastic tubes from the Q-tips gently heat them, stretch them, to make applicator tips for superglue bottles!
If you havnt had the idea already for an extended storietelling for your universe : A natural faction made of wood, spores and vegetal items trying to overcome the lethal radioactive, dust and metal piles. Like Nature fighting to regain power on the surface of the planete.
Am... am I a robot made out of meat?
The sketch phase is always so inspiring.
I liked you using the magnets this time and I’d be interested in seeing it used more in future projects!
Now I don't feel so bad when a friend and I coined the Elemental Plane of Meat back in the 90's. Our RPG games were unique to say the least. :)
Alex of 52 Miniatures brought me here. But I stayed for the bots. Subscribed for the quality. Awesome!
Plenty of Holiday wire in the Barnsley Poundland.
Love these miniature-building episodes, Bill!
The plastic that your greenstuff is wrapped in will cure both parts making it hard to mix.
I store mine in empty glass herb pots from Sainsbury’s
Isn’t this ep 74? Anyhow, really hooked by your channel, just like when I was a kid, and we would get a new episode of Battle of the Planets (the Gatchaman anime, filtered for western kids) every saturday evening...
My first car was a Citroen Bangarang if memory serves, great little runner it was but could have done with a bigger boot.
For sculpting without having to rush or timescale, try up and bake clay
As a rule in the game you should be able to swap/steal the enemy's arm
My daughter loves watching your videos with me. Thanks
Can confirm. Children are always trying to bring about their end. Whether it be holding each other down in the bath to train holding their breath, or filling their mouth with food and having a gasping competition; open-mouthed coughing drills are also important.
I was REALLY hoping you were going to leave the bright, kinda pinky paint scheme on the meaty one. Great bot as always though, thanks for sharing.
love this series love the funky bot dudes

Meaty one is a very nifty concept. And make a fork hand, please. Love you, Cat.
Love this universe!! Make me wanna try sculpting a few things and create my own universe... Keep the good stuff going!
it's been so great following you for all this time and watching you improve! the pacing of this episode was GREAT, the flow was so smooth and consistent, I loved it, and the build too :D
Love all your work Bill
Would love to see your thoughts on a Gutterlands-BORG style TTRPG!! This setting is so fun.

Great video. Lovely build.
That was an awesome little grenade launcher 😎 very cool and a great job too.

Wonderful timing I made meat pies for dinner and watched your video on the meaty ones 😂😂 I can’t wait to play this game!!
I run a 40K//war gaming club at my school. Need to show the kids this! They’ll love it (as do I).
I need to get the kids making some beadbots, will check out the bangarang rules, nice build Bill
Really loving this game and all the cool things you’re making for it!

maybe you can do a magnetic rag prop for the swaping hands in the same scale, so you dont lose it and add to the world
I really love Bill's meat monster
Why would you ever watch a professional painting video when you could watch Bill paint? Bill your painting is so enjoyable!!!!
Incroyable!!!!Quel talent
Bill, if you havent seen it already watch "The Blood Of Heros" amazing movie that im sure youd love. Mad maxish themes, probably my favorite movie of all time.
TIL you can use Vaseline to make green stuff easier to handle. Weird, but helpful.
If it hasn't been said before, always trim the center of the blue and yellow away due to it having already activated with contact. TMYK :D
Excellent mate love it
Looking forward to the rule book! Meaty ones are my favorite I think.
Gonna have to trap my friends in the basement for some bot crafting sessions. Wouldn't mind trying out the game
Thank you for the entertainment Bill.
They look great :D look forward to getting my hands on the game :)
Looking great
