    That game is more addictive than crack. Just one more turn!

    A couple issues came up in the vid:
    1. The way people have analyzed it on C3C, there are specific war weariness values for each civ that you fight -- not an overall number. So, the Japan and the Mongols declaring war didn't have anything to do with your war weariness score vis-a-vis Egypt. The requirement for war weariness with a certain civ to go down is that all of your military units are out of their land and all of their military units are out of your land. The reason that your war weariness with Egypt was still so high during the second war is probably because they had their galleys in your territory and never withdrew basically the whole time between the wars.
    2. War Chariots are an exception to the normal upgrade rules. Even though they upgrade to Horsemen, you can keep building them all the way up until you get Chiv. I did an Egypt game not long ago and War Chariots and Horsemen show up right next to each other in the production menu. One is 20 shields, the other 30. Weird how UU upgrades are so inconsistent between civs like that, but it's a big benefit when you're playing Egypt.

      Thanks for the detailed feedback!
      1) Didn't know this. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to watch how much they're in my land and judge accordingly for WW. I'm guessing you pick up the highest WW penalty of all the nations you're at war with? Or do they stack on top of each other? Either way this is even more severe of a penalty than I thought (and therefore, more beneficial to the human player if they can play around it!)
      2) I should know this from playing multiplayer but it slipped my mind hahah.

    Not sure what your exact plan is, but from someone who is generally very aggressive militarily, I agree you need to take the Egyptians out and all of their land. I'm guessing you'll probably stack some knights, and I would agree. The AI that gets dogpiled tends to get wiped off the map(RIP Babylon), so so long as the Zulu and Mongols join you, Egypt will collapse. Just be sure to have enough knights to capture the cities before the Zulu do. You want to kill Egypt, but it's worse for you if the Zulu end up with way more land. I'd just say to not be afraid of substantially going over the unit cap for the campaign- if you end up with Egypt's land it will pretty much pay for itself.
    But most importantly you shrink your border which means you can concentrate a larger force in one spot rather than many small forces across a long frontier. From my experience, as soon as you only have to defend a few tiles to defend your whole empire, it becomes incredibly easy to not only defend your empire, but destroy the other civs on your continent as well. Strategies such as baiting the AI into specific squares where you can mass artillery and Cavalry to take them out, fortress walls, etc become more of a possibility this way.
    Don't let me lead you astray, as I've never seriously won a game any higher than Diety, but just thought I'd share my thoughts.
    Regardless, I've been enjoying the series of streams, although I've been watching after the fact. Hope to see you pull through!

    • @suedeciviii7142
      @suedeciviii7142  2 года назад

      Yeah for sure, good idea. I think I'll save the Zulu until I have rails or artillery, so I'm not too concerned if they take a couple of Egypt's cities. But I'd like to keep Babylon semi alive as a buffer if possible. I'm more worried about Zulu taking out Mongols tbh. I'd like to save the Mongols as a potential ally for taking them on. If they're fighting a 2 front war with Babylon between me and them, I think I could work through the border gore.
      Thanks for the tips. I'm not used to large maps so there may be areas where you are more experienced and it's nice to get a second opinion.
      Next stream's tomorrow noon est if you can catch it.

    which level can you beat at whatever is considered normal settings (so no archipelago, big maps, small maps accelerated production... what do you think the normal settings are?)
    without having to search for good start?

    • @suedeciviii7142
      @suedeciviii7142  Год назад +3

      Normal settings: I'd say continents is the "purest" experience but I wouldn't say archi or pangea are exploitative as long as you play 70% water.
      I assume I'd be allowed to pick my civ but not the enemy civs.
      I would probably want barbs on at roaming.
      The answer would be deity. If you mean like, win with an average start. Not win with any start the game rolls for me. I've improved a lot playing on Sid though, so I'd like to play some "average" deity starts to practice and confirm.

      @@suedeciviii7142 can you win deity on a start without bonus food? I am just trying to understand what you mean by average.
      I also mean like feeling comfortable that you are going to win. not that for example if you get good positioning then it's doable without bonus resource food..
      I don't know if you beat Sid in this game but the pressure you are defending against is very impressive!

      @@Chris-cs7nv Yes. Within reason. But the production factor alone makes you tech at 66% of the speed that you do on demigod, on sid. And the AI produces buildings and units 50% faster.
