To start, it must be said: this plotline makes no sense. Sansa hasn't been so jerked around by the writers since Battle o/t Bastards. 3. It makes no sense that Arya would react so negatively to Sansa's behavior, and especially her letter "supporting" Joffrey. #GameOfThrones 3a. Especially since Arya herself had a period of living undercover with the Lannisters, and took no action against them. 4. It makes no sense that Sansa wouldn't at least suspect Littlefinger's hand in Arya finding the letter. #GameOfThrones 5. And it makes no sense that Sansa would think Brienne would side with Arya against her, and therefore send her away. #GameOfThrones 6. But much as the plot feels cobbled together, there's a certain emotional sense to Sansa's behavior that is both familiar and horrifying. 7. Sansa is reacting not out of fear but out of shame. The shame of an abuse victim being made to account for how they handled their abuse. 8. Listen to what Arya is saying to her. Their entire exchange is wrapped up in their notions of femininity, and female strength. 9. And what she's saying is what gets said to every victim of abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence: 9a. "Why didn't you leave?" "Why didn't you attack him?" "I would have fought back" "Maybe you really wanted it" 10. And the thing is that like so many real victims, deep down Sansa asks these questions herself, so she has no answer for Arya. 11. It makes me so angry that not only is Sansa being faced with this questioning, but that it's coming from her sister. #GameOfThrones 11a. Or, to put it another way, that the men who wrote this episode made one woman throw these accusations at another woman. #GameOfThrones 12. It makes me even angrier that after everything she's been through, Sansa once again finds herself living in terror under her own roof. 12a. And again, that the source of that terror is another woman, and her sister. #GameOfThrones 13. So I find the analysis of Arya's accusations from some quarters frustrating, because it should be obvious that it's pointless. 14. There's no way of defeating or disproving what Arya accuses Sansa of. The very fact of the accusation is enough. 15. Because what Sansa is being accused of is being a woman, which makes her inherently guilty and insufficient. 16. Which is all the more glaring in a show in which so many women - including Arya - are allowed by the writers to opt out of that trap. 16a. Arya's "what would Lyanna Mormont do?" feels practically like something you'd find on a GoT message board. #GameOfThrones 17. What I really wanted Sansa to say in that moment was: "if Lyanna had refused to do what I did, she'd be dead." #GameOfThrones 18. Because that's what it comes down to: the idea that women are only allowed to survive in certain ways, through certain means. 19. Sansa being made to feel ashamed for her survival makes me furious. That Arya is the one doing it is even worse. #GameOfThrones
She doesnt't need millions of fans like precious Arya or Jon has because she's got us. She's got plenty of fans who love and support her on Tumblr because she's an amazing character, she is human, she isn't a robot or a killing machine, she's my queen. And I don't care if she hasn't turned into something like Bran or Arya because I don't care about that. She's quiet and innocent. She is just amazing. I love her so much.
Elite, you're just right!!! I read disrespectful and horrible comments from Arya's fans and it always made me upset, but now I'm like... I don't even want her to have millions of fans. And yes, this is the reason I love her so much. Quiet and innocent. she isn't a robot or a killing machine, she's my queen (2) Let's hope GRRM thinks the same thing. (I would give her the north and even the iron throne, if the plot allows it. It'd be a LOT bittersweet because she wanted to be queen in the beginning... But I guess the north fits her better and that's what GRRM is planing for her.)
Its like I've said before its their loss, my mum doesn't even watch the show and she says she's a great young character. It doesn't matter about the hate either because the more I see them, the more I love her character.
poor writing, unfortunateluy :/ The dialogue was like fanfiction, Arya was completely out of character. it was all very sad to watch. I'm dropping the series, just watching main scenes throught youtube and that's it

I dont think everyone understood how magnificent this video is. I mean?? It's perfect? The parallelism between Ramsay and Joffrey is so well done i almost teared up; you showed everything that happened to sansa, tragedy after tragedy and although Sansa is not one of my favorite characters you realle made me emphatise with her. You really did a great job, the song is perfect, the order in which you pointed out all Sansa's aspects is perfect, what can I say??? just great job!
I love Sansa Stark so much ! I pity her so much, I just want to help her. I relate to her, my family didnt die but he have issues like the Starks. My childhood is similar to Sansas, I wished for something and got oppisite, to got beaten, manipulated, emotionally, mentally abused by the people I so called trusted. I hold Sansa close to me, because I'm my own Sansa, Arya and Lyanna.
this is amazing! I love my girl sansa, she used to be one of my least favorite characters, now she is easily my favorite (along with dany) and I'm so proud of her, she's a true survivor and she deserves so much better!!
