(MY GOAL IS 12 INCHES BY 2023) I'm 34 years old and my hair Has Never been or 5 inches even as a child. I did the "BIG CHOP" February 9th 2020 so fingers crossed this works I'm going to try everything possible to get those weeds sprouting out these roots🌲😝🙏
I just announced the winner of the giveaway and it is "Kit to the Kat". Thank you so much to everyone that entered. I have read all the comments and I noticed a lot of people are really planning on taking much better care of their hair this year so I will be doing more product giveaways, a few times a month to help you on your journey. I will be responding to all the comments later today sorry for the delay😩.Most of the giveaways will be announced in my videos so look out for them.😊❤️
Hey sis! So my wedding is coming in August and I've recently done a big chop and I'm doing my best to grow a thick healthy mane so I can rock my natural hair for my wedding!! My husband to be supports me which makes me so happy so this oil would really aid me in my journey. The hard water here doesn't help either aswell as the lack of black hair products. What I plan to do differently this year is trim more often, consume more veggies and twist my hair more often and leave it alone!!
My favorite protective style is twists as well. I wash and deep condition weekly (7-10days) and style in twists most of the time my hair is in twists or wrapped. I’m going to be doing this ALL year hoping to get to waist length I am at BraStrapLength now
I’m definitely joining. My hair suffered after I had a baby 7 month ago. My edges are beginning to grow back in gradually. I’ll definitely do more protective styles this year.
Funny this was my resolution for this year. I was worried about it being a “work style” as I’m in the legal field. But corona happened. 🥴 so more reason for me to stick to my goal.
I’d like to win because I’ve never had healthy long hair. I love my hair but I have always struggled to make my natural hair grow so I resort to wigs to hide it, which has resulted in me losing my edges but I want to start wearing it out and show people I’m proud to be African and how beautiful our hair is. Thank you for this video, very helpful :)
You can do it. I didnt learn how to take care of my hair until last 2 yrs. As long as you are here you cant start to learn how to care for yourself in new and loving ways, sis!
I appreciate the trichotillomania mention. I have dermatillomania and therapy helps, it's currently actually classified as OCD, or a BFRB. So if you have trich and are stressed, it is a recognized disorder that has therapy and just kind treatment options 💛 trichotillomania is also characterized by stress, if you try to stop and it causes you a lot of stress and upset to stop, look further into it or go to a mental health professional for a diagnosis. Many people like to touch their hair, but not everyone of those people will have trich.
I've been doing this since the beginning of the year! But with mini twists for 2 months and mini braids for the other 2months. I'm glad I found you ❤️❤️
I love the thickness of your hair. I've had some breakage in my hair so, I had to cut it. I would love to win the bottle of juco to use. I will be protective styling using braids.
You, BlackHairReport, and KimmayTube (LuvNaturals) have been my hairspirations for 3+ years now. I'm resetting my hair regimen to follow your advice, and just found out through your trimming split ends tutorial that my split ends are a WHOLE MESS...so will start there. Thanks!!
This is awesome! I plan to use this same routine for my hair as well. My 6 month bigchop is finally long enough to maintain flat twists to help me get started.
Girl, I love your hair. I really do enjoy looking at your videos as they are very informative plus, I also have 4c hair. I will be joining you in this challenge using mini twist because these last me up to two (2) months.
I'll come along on the journey, my hair is type 4 as well. I'll try you style. Do you have a video on this specific twists? I only noticed loose twists tutorial. Just wanted to say that your channel is one of the most beautiful and educational hair channels on RUclips on type 4 hair and hair styles in general. ♥️ In top 5 I'll give you a 1. Keep up the good work!✨♥️
I’ve realized that I have that as well. My boyfriend pointed it out to me. I do it when I’m stressed/ anxious. I do it less when my hair is in braids. Love your videos though I don’t comment often! Keep up the good work!!
Your hair looks very healthy. Interesting that you mentioned tricho.... I had this ailment as a child due to abuse and trauma.; but I didnt realie I had it till i read an article in article in Psychology Today mag. years ago. I literally had sparse eyebrows and eye lashes; and every once and while I have the habit still in those places, but luckily not the hair on my head. Thanx for the vid.
My twists always unravel when I wash them in twists so I will be interested in watching that video. I will be on a length retaining journey too. I'm tired of being at collar bone length
Thank you for sharing. Great information. I have 4C, low porosity, thin strands that are densly packed. Recently, I tried washing my hair in twist (rope) and unfortunately, it tangled. I also find that putting mini twist and leaving my hair in twist, will cause my hair to tangle. I think it t has to do with my thin strands. So, I either; flat or cornrow it (before covid19, I would style it for work, once per week), I moisturize it this way and at the end of the week ( wash day), I take it out, detangle ( easy) for wash and then I start the process again. Sometimes, I can get away with washing every two weeks.
I have scalp issues. If don't wash weekly. It gets flakey and doesn't look good. I have to use medicated shampoo to atleast keep it a bay. Most I can do is like 7-10 days. I will join journey. I struggle with my ends. I cut but for some reason they remain dry and brittle. What works is moisturizing my hair and the putting a baggy on it for a few hours or overnight. That works wonders.
I should win because I'm the first comment. I will also be doing 2 strand twists for 3 weeks at a time. Did i I mention that I have been following you forever 😁😁😁
I would like to win , because one of my major goals this year is having thicker, healthy growing hair. And I believe the black castor will help. What I'm doing differently this year , is stop washing my hair every week, and doing more protective styling
Thank you so much for this upload. I'm thinking I'm going to start doing this for my new year of 2020. I've been struggling to find a style that will be functional for my workouts. THIS IS IT!!!! Would you be able to give us a tutorial on how you do the twists? Do you do it on stretched hair?
I 1000% agree with the minimal manipulation by keeping in twists most of the time, that and trying to keep up with the moisturing will be my routine for this year to grow my hair. I have been natural for almost 5 years. Absolutely love the JBCO, for me I focus it mostly on my hairline, and I don't play with it as it can be a bit pricey. And I am running out, basically pounding the bottle on my hand to draw out the last bits 😁. Would really love to have that bottle of JBCO come my way. ❤️💕
I will join in on the challenge. I did a second big chop last year in July like a bald fade. So now I am in the process of growing it back out. I plan to wash, condition, grease my scalp, and braid it back up. Also I will wear a wig or braids for protective styles.
I’ll join you on this journey as well. I always keep my hair in twists, but mine are smaller because my hair is shorter. I wash, deep condition and moisturize in my twists. I only manipulate them to redo them and I only finger detangle. It helps me retain growth. I still have breakage so I will try some of your suggestions. I’m love to try the oil in the hops it helps with breakage
The best style for me to leave my hair alone in braids, but the bad thing is I leave them in for 3 months and I somewhat neglect my hair, but luckily I don't have any hair loss because of it.
I will be going on a second hair journey with a massive trim as my hair has been falling and breaking for months. This year what I will be doing differently is to expose my hair less and wear more protective styles. I intend to wear permanent styles all through this year only taking hair down to deep condition and trim away the damaged ends.
Faith T. Make sure your vitamin D levels are normal. Eat more veggies and fruits. Don’t use chemicals, relaxer especially. Go to a stylist you trust, you may need light protein or moisture treatment. Black castor oil works as well to hold in moisture if your hair is dry.
I'd love to win because currently im a student in a European country so I don't come across products like these often plus its expensive for me, my main issue is that i dont like trimming my hair which is why my ends tend to be weak ,i trimmed a good amount of my hair recently and im gonna definitely trim my hair regularly this year, and also doing more protective styles during the winter
My goal is healthy waist length, so I will be protective styling this year with butters and twist as well. I plan to excercise more, take vitamins and eat healthier. I always wanted to try the IQ naturals castor oil. I currently use SunnyIsle JBCO. I wish u the best in your hair journey to healthy long hair 😍
I will miss your hair tutorials bc your hair is gorge. But, I too keep my hair in twists all the time, so it'll be interesting to see your hair maintenance (and styles maybe) while in twists like me. I've been doing jumbo loose twists that I blow out once a month on wash day. They revert more and more with moisturizing but it helps minimize SSK by keeping it stretched. I style them in buns, usually with a banana clip, by loosely twisting the ends in 2 sections and crossing them over and tucking the ends under the clip. It makes a big intricate looking bun in little time.
starting all over again. i big chopped after putting a texlax in my hair and it still was too strong. my hair started coming out again so i went natural again by putting crochet braids for the last year. Now its trying to grow back again. i would love to try this oil.
I am also on a journey ooo. I have 4b Hair. We can do it! I also have not seen your videos pass by on my feed for ages and ages. YT tripping, but stay hussling 💪🏿
My goal is to retain at least 6 inches of growth. Transitioned for 18 months. My hair growth is fair and I have never deep conditioned my hair. I hope to incorporate that when I'm more financially stable. BTW, my styles this year will be loose twists and African threading. Wish me luck.
I'd really love to win the oil because here in Nigeria, it costs so much and I've never been able to afford it. It'll be very useful for me especially in a season like this. Harmattan, very dry. Also, I hardly have hair care products. Only a shampoo and that's all. No conditioners. I've started wearing my hair in twists this year for length retention like I always have but this year, I'll tryyy, lol, to make them last one month before taking them down.
I see a lot of natural hair influencers say heat such as blow-drying your hair is good for our hair is that true? Should I be blow drying my hair? If yes how many times? Every wash day? Every month?
I want to win because im trying to get to waist length this year and it would help me greatly:) what I've started doing differently is journaling so everything i do to my hair i make a note so i can keep track of likes, dislikes reactions etc..
Prior to watching I already decided to take this journey and now I'm happy to do it with you! I am at bra strap length and my goal is mid back. I need to start moisturizing, deep conditioning and covering my hair at night (miraculously I got to this length by trimming my own ends and wearing only cornrows or twists for 2 years). Pick me bc I have never used jbco before and I'm curious to see how my hair improves with proper management! Thanks for sharing :-)
I was skeptical about vitamins but after I did my big chop last year I got *desperate* . Mielle pills had 0 effect & Hairfinity did show decent results BUT the Manechoice Manetabolism Plus vitamins are EVERYTHING. My hair is growing like a weed. I drink it with a green smoothie most of the time & I can't believe it. 💆🏾♀️💊
My goal this year is to reach middle back lenght and also learn how to hydrate my hair cause i feel like i still have more to learn about it and also dandruff 😩 i’m battling with it. For two years now my hairstyle has been twist and it has really helped me so far for my hair growth journey. My hair grow so fast on twist. I also give first importance on home made product from my shampoo to my hair growth serum and i use castor oil for my hair serum.
I need it because my hair is not growing well and I haven't used it before and it's hard to get where I stay, I want to conrows my hair for one month using it, let me see how it's goes 🤗🤗
Why don't you mix both Castor oil scents in one applicator bottle only instead of having two different ones? I love your videos btw, you are #hairgoals!! So starting now I'm going to join you on this process 😍💯
The hardest thing is getting out of the awkward length phase after big chopping. Your hair is too short for certain styles and too long for others and as a result you incur a lot of damage 🙄
That 's strange because I retain more length when I dont wear twists. For some reason my flyaways and ends always end up tangled, specially if I wash and condition my hair in twists.
So I just went natural and I have a few questions. Do you ever co-wash instead of shampooing and would you recommend cowashing? And do you only deep condition or do you use regular conditioner as well (I bought a whole bottle but I’m not sure when I’ll use it because I’ve only been using deep conditioner after every wash)
I need help retaining length and moisture due to menopause hair issues. I'm going to wear protective styels besides wigs this year. More braid, twist and locs styles vs. wigs. I will need to set a regiment with better products for moisturized hair.
I recently did a big chop because I was transitioning from permed to natural. My hair is also type four and I want that by the end of the year my hair grows like twice as it is now. So I will be following you though this journey so I would like to win the oil to enable my hair to grow 💖
My hair like an inch from my elbow but I'm focused on my hairs health. I do need an inch cut in some parts of my hair because of heat damage but my hair is mostly healthy and growing fast.
Your hair is long and thick. I'd love to have healthier hair this year too. My hair gets dry very easily. I would like to buy some butters and more leave ins for my hair this year. I love castor oil. I would like to win the bottle to improve my hair schedule. I don't really mind the smell.
Yall. I just flat ironed my hair for the first time in 3 months and I went from armpit length hair to 1 inch under my bra strap. I was soooooooo shook because I didnt know my hair grew.
I am a mother of two who is in school and I quit my job to finish up my bachelor degree in teaching special education. I do not have alot of time or extra money to take care if my hair. I want to grow it out like it was after I had my kids. This is why I should win the free bottle. Thanks for your videos! :)
This Video was super Informative. I am now subscribed to your channel. I am going to try my best to do this challenge with you. I'm gonna make time to get all of these products and track my results....I'll keep you posted

I really need this hair oil because I had a bad day at the salon today, and it led to me having a big chop and starting my hair journey all over again. I really need this hair oil, because to be honest, I don't have money to get a new one. This year 2020, I really want to give my hair all the love and care it deserves (it went through a lot). This year
I don’t know how I came across your video but I’m glad I did! I washed & twisted my hair today & my planned is to try to keep my hair in twists as much as possible too! So, I’m def I’m on the challenge & would love to win the JBCO ❤️
My postpartum period is just around the corner want to prevent as much breakage during that time..i plan to do more protective styles more especially two strand twists and do more scalp massages with castor oil to create a good environment for new growth..that is why i would like to win that jamaican black castor oil...FYI you taught me how to do loose twists..thank you!!❤❤
I oil my scalp about three times a week & wash my hair once every 10 days. I will like to win the giveaway to add to my hair regimen & join you in this hair growth journey for 2020.
I definitely suffer from trichotillomania 😫. I big chopped July 2014 and my hair grew for sometime but after a while it appeared to have stop and I’ve been at the same short length for the last three or four years. I have 4c hair so I absolutely do not like dealing with it so most times I have braids in. But I am starting to believe that because my hair has gotten used to this protective style that the ps no longer act as such 😕. I am beyond frustrated.
Your hair growth is amazing. My question is, after moisturizing and sealing, within the week when using the spray leave in conditioner, would it still moisturize the hair? Despite the previous sealing done. I hope I win this giveaway because I love castor oil and in Nigeria its kinda expensive.
My hair has never grown past 6 inches I'm determined to grow my hair this year. Il be joining you.
Me too my hair has never grown past 6 inches

I love using the IQ Natural oils too. That is what I use too

Hey gals!
I'm focusing on treating my hair with nothing but natural products. Moisture spray it daily and focus on volume and length retention.
I’d like to win because I’ve never had healthy long hair. I love my hair but I have always struggled to make my natural hair grow so I resort to wigs to hide it, which has resulted in me losing my edges but I want to start wearing it out and show people I’m proud to be African and how beautiful our hair is. You can do it. I didnt learn how to take care of my hair until last 2 yrs. As long as you are here you cant start to learn how to care for yourself in new and loving ways, sis!
I'm down for this challenge. In twists and switching to wash bi-weekly to see if my strands hold moisture better!
Love you mama!!!!! Keep proving that 4c hair grows to long lengths!!!!! I'm starting my hair journey with no waves and hopefully I succeed!!!

This year I'll use steam to deep condition and moisturize my hair. I have LP hair so using steam helps a lot with keeping my hair moisturized
What kind of steamer do you use. I have medium porosity 4c hair and I use my Qredew steamer and I love it!
@@QueenOfTheDamned actually..... I use a fabric steamer. It's not meant for steaming hair but it works.
siera how do you actually use it ?, can you give a steps by step progess
I bought a steam cap that you use with a blow dryer. Does the job.
This is awesome! I plan to use this same routine for my hair as well. My 6 month bigchop is finally long enough to maintain flat twists to help me get started.

I would assume that depends on your hair texture. Tighter texture= less unraveling
You can braid the roots 1-2" down then twist the rest to stop unraveling

Please can you tell us more about moisturising, conditioning, and leave in?
Please a tutorial of those twist will be great😍😍😍
Is the give away open even to us living in Southern part of Africa? I like your hair and my hair too is in twists. Thanks for sharing.
Tilly
Wow, that’s dedication
I do this too! I have a hair journal app on my phone, it works wonders for documentation and logging products!
@@shalom4441-o6i whats the name of the app?
@@Nailbae It's called "Hair Journal" in the app store, im unsure if its on android devices
@@shalom4441-o6i ok thank you im going to check it out
Prior to watching I already decided to take this journey and now I'm happy to do it with you!
Started my new years committed to twists on heat free stretched hair.
The hardest thing is getting out of the awkward length phase after big chopping. Your hair is too short for certain styles and too long for others and as a result you incur a lot of damage 🙄
I will be joining the challenge also I have 4c hair and would love to see how much length I can maintain.
Do you twist your hair when it is wet or do you blow it out first?
How do you prevent your hair from locing? When I leave my hair in twists too long, the shed hair get caught
Can you please explain those words for me?
Type 4c, type 4 ,type 4b and the rest
How would you know your hair type??
I don't understand
This the longest my hair has ever been and I found the hair routine for for me, I'm going to try growing 12 inches in 12 months
I am a mother of two who is in school and I quit my job to finish up my bachelor degree in teaching special education. I do not have alot of time or extra money to take care if my hair. I want to grow it out like it was after I had my kids. This is why I should win the free bottle. Thanks for your videos! :)
I am taking the challenge with you this year to see the changes with my hair
This Video was super Informative. I am now subscribed to your channel. I am going to try my best to do this challenge with you. I'm gonna make time to get all of these products and track my results....I'll keep you posted
I did pulling out the back of my hair when I was young ,it grows but shorter then the rest
I recently did a big chop because I was transitioning from permed to natural. My hair is also type four and I want that by the end of the year my hair grows like twice as it is now. So I will be following you though this journey so I would like to win the oil to enable my hair to grow 💖 hi
How often will you be retwisting your hair?
Heyyy Sis what’s your opinion on hair grease?
I really need this hair oil because I had a bad day at the salon today, and it led to me having a big chop and starting my hair journey all over again. I really need this hair oil, because to be honest, I don't have money to get a new one. This year 2020, I really want to give my hair all the love and care it deserves (it went through a lot). This year
Hello dear Love your video's,
Love your hair!❤
Can I put lavender essentialoil in the castoroil for the smell?
