I’ve always strongly believed in tip #1. You’re so right type 3 hair doesn’t follow type 4 routines. They don’t even follow type 2 or type 1 routines because they recognize their hair is quite different. I can’t completely blame our type 4 sisters because I remember a time that a lot of you tubers used to make promises that were dishonest and claim their routines were good for all hair types (I fell for that lie for a while). My personal struggle wasn’t just finding type 4 women but also finding women with fine hair and recognizing that even with the best hair advice I still have to tailor a routine specifically to my hair.
I used to think that tip #2 was common knowledge BUT boy was I wrong. Like come on now!!! That’s basic. Even if u don’t do shit else.. u gotta wrap your hair. That’s something our mother’s made us do while RELAXED!
@@Grace-to6hn It's basically just wearing a bonnet or scarf at night so that your cotton pillowcase doesn't take all the moisture from your hair. Some people use silk pillowcases.. I don't like them lol it just gets hair products on my face.
It is so true that people don't remember that consistency is absolutely key key key. I know alot of black women who will dc whenever they feel like it. And they want long especially long natural hair and you can't do your hair whenever you feel like it if thats your hair goal even if your goal is health you still can't. Your hair will break off and be dry that way
To be totally honest and transparent, I NEVER thought that I could have long beautiful 4b/4c hair that wasn't just hard, brittle and dull. I'm not new in my natural journey but I'm STILL struggling in the woods with like how much to moisturize, and products, nightly routine that kind of stuff. I only wear my hair under a wig or a weave or in braids but I don't retain my growth 🥺🥺🥺. For years I've been afraid to put water in my hair because it makes my hair draw up but I'm learning to embrace the water and oil now.
I learned early in my natural hair journey that I am a 4C. Through trial and error, and watching RUclips, I figured out what works best for my hair. I do all of these steps, however, I have one more step, I trim my ends when needed. Trimming my ends helps with growth and the health of your hair. I use homemade moisturizing conditioning masks in which I blend, avocado, banana, egg, and olive oil. I make rice water for protein, and use it for leave in treatment and detangling my hair, and to re-twist my hair. To lock in moisture I use my pre-mixed oils that consists of olive oil, castor oil, tea tree oil, and argon oil. Then I seal these oils with pure shae butter. My hair and scalp is very healthy and strong. I learned also that what might work for another person with 4C hair might not work for my 4C hair. For example, I can do pre-poo with a mixture of conditioner and shae butter, but co-wash is not for me. Co-wash leaves my hair heavy and my scalp with a build up. My hair and scalp needs shampooing.
I’m relaxed . So glad , I found your videos . I do need a silk pillow case . I have low manipulation I rarely apply heat . I over moisturize with Shea moisture leave in products and aloe Vera and natural oils.
Ugh this video just made me so happy to finally get some good advice. I’m 4C and I was almost about to just give up because it won’t grow. Now I realize why 😫 I didn’t know wrapping your hair at night was so important
i’m so happy that it made you happy dear 🤗 ur 4c hair is beautiful. i hope through my channel you can have more love for it ❤️ and yes wrapping hair is so important!
If you don’t do anything else, you MUST wrap your hair at night. Walmart has hair wraps for a few bucks, get two or three so you have a clean one whenever you wash your hair
New subbie! Cut my 4b 4c hair now growing it back, I have cut and grown it back before and on the long hair journey again, thanks for sharing all your tips!
I seldomly look at videos of people with long soft hair. I only use let's jam extra hold conditioning gel, Glover's anti dandruff or dry wash with a regular shampoo, then I always co wash it twice. I use a conditioning treatment, cornrow back for crochet style and box braid the perimeter. That allows me to touch up my hair at least once without taking down my whole head of hair. I use dump liquid castor oil into my jar of Blue Magic cator oil hair conditioner, add jam and braod my hair down. No matter what kind of crochet hair I use, it's always pretty. Every two or three months, I'll get it trimmed. In late June, I did a short afro before my 50th bday. My hair is growing very quickly! The Blue Magoc actually does keep my hair "juicy" plus I actually can't comb through it without that gel. I think it's really 4 double D hair. Lol Thanks for this video. Since wearing stuff around my head is very bothersome, I lay out my scarf on my pillow.
brianna Johnson Lol yes girl! Those shampoos are so intense! Can you believe that relaxed haired people used to use that all the time? Amazing what people do because of a lack of knowledge. So happy to be apart of this gorgeous natural hair movement 😍 thanks for your comment beauty
yesss, I finally found my channel for natural hair. I’m a 4c girl & I love olive oil. Also what is a wash and go with 4c?? Lol stretching is key. Love your channel❤️
Good point on the hair gels. Flaxseed gel. . . Awesome! Helps with hair growth. Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil to your batch with some essential oils (Bergamot & ylang ylang mix are my favs) and the gel keeps that curl or wave pattern you're trying to maintain without flaking or that crunchy feel you would get from store products. Checkout Pinterest for a few recipes to try. Its quick and easy to make. My small 4oz jar last me a month (sometimes longer). Protip: put it in an applicator bottle and cut the tip a little wider for use. Always store in the fridge for a longer shelf life. It is food and it will go bad left out.
Your hair is gorgeous! Hope I can get mine as long as this. I’ve been successful growing relaxed hair but those days are over. I’ve never been able to grow my natural 4c hair long. Watching these videos gives me hope and knowledge. Thank you.
My sister has 4b/4c hair and the natural hair community's over promotion of type 3 and 4a hair has made it ao hard for her innthe beginning. She was trying to get coils and curls when her hair does not do that. She was literally following what they did and her hair did not flourish. She started following up and coming type 4 girls and her hair has flourished, especially her discovering the importance of stretching and deep contioning. Imnso glad she realized that. We need more 4b and 4c natural youtubers. And not the ones pretending to be 4b/c when they are 4a like me. Lol. You have beautiful hair and will be showing you to my sister.
Liked and subscribed with the first tip!!😂 i totally agree with you i don't take tips from women who don't have 4c hair. Even when i watch a 4c woman, i am still cautious as to what i expect for my hair to look like because we are all different. I have grown to get to know my hair and what it needs and likes and my hair has been LOVING me for it!
Glad I found this video, because my hair is cut really short and it’s super dry most days. I’m going to try and twist my hair every other of the week✨ Thank you💕
That's so great to have a coaching system. I truly appreciate that. My sister and I need that. Will see you soon then. I just subscribed. I need to be notified of all your videos.
There is some very good clarifying shampoo like the Dudu Osun ( which is also can be us as a soap) this soap/shampoo is from Nigeria made with natural ingredients like shea butter, aloe vera, honey...
My problem right now is dryness. I do everything else but my products seem to stop work now. I clarify but nothing works. Guess i will try deep conditioning more.
i have a question though . If I strench my hair with a little bit of heat does it make sense to put water on it the next day? does anyone know of a way to strech your 4C hair quickly without heat. thanks for your responses
Can you please advise me on what my hair type is. Mine is very similar to your but not so curly and more fizzed outwards and not as thick. I'm middleastern and figured that ladies who understand this type of hair can help me learn to care for it better and learn to love it as it is rather than opting for chemical straightening.
facts! our hair looks so strong but it actually requires such delicacy and attention. such a beautiful concept. ♡ thanks so much for sharing your thoughts
Yes girl I love your light blow out and tbh growing 4c hair is a struggle but it’s definitely possible. I am currently bra strap length and my goal is to be waist length 🤗. I make videos too and will love it if you and anyone else checks it out ❤️
Call me old school, but my routine is water, a hair lotion or leave in, and seal it with grease(just on the strands) In my opinion grease is made for 4c. I do a hot oil treatement with olive oil/honey on my scalp.
Get a trim every 4-6 weeks. Get sulfate free... shampoo. If u use a gel everyday make sure u use a leave in conditioner, or get a good deep conditioner. Professional products are the way to go

Great 😃👍🏾 video and am taking notes ✍️. You take your time to explain everything clearly. Thank you.
All that advice is great but would recommend also exercising and eating well. Your hair and skin will thank you for it 💕
I seldomly look at videos of people with long soft hair.
I tried a suave clarifying shampoo just one time and and my hair shrunk so bad matted and felt like a brillo pad it was so hard to rinse out
brianna Johnson Lol yes girl! Those shampoos are so intense! Can you believe that relaxed haired people used to use that all the time? Amazing what people do because of a lack of knowledge. So happy to be apart of this gorgeous natural hair movement 😍 thanks for your comment beauty
I used the honey garnier line, that was a no. Now I use tresemme aloe line and so far so good.
love your hair ,brilliant video to help black women accepting their hair ,beautiful
yesss, I finally found my channel for natural hair. I’m a 4c girl & I love olive oil. Also what is a wash and go with 4c?? Lol stretching is key. Love your channel❤️
In love with your hair. It’s soo damn beautiful 😍
You are gorgeous! 🤩
Kari Alysia thanks so much beauty!
OMG u look like SOLANGE!😲
So pretty! I love your HAIR sis! As soon as my hair gets that long my confidence is going to be poppin!
Bae knows her stuff excellent tips 😘😍👍🏿
Your hair is gorgeous! Hope I can get mine as long as this. I’ve been successful growing relaxed hair but those days are over. I’ve never been able to grow my natural 4c hair long. Watching these videos gives me hope and knowledge. Thank you.
Great video sis! Loved the video! I agree with everything you said espicially the first one! Feel like I'm on the right track finally! ✋🏾
I’m going to try and twist my hair every other of the week✨ Thank you💕
thank you for this girl !!! highly needed !! ❤💙.
Girl you are amazing I just share your video on my page thank you for your advice.❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's so great to have a coaching system. I truly appreciate that. My sister and I need that. Will see you soon then. I just subscribed. I need to be notified of all your videos.
Tip number #1 is really motivation.
Just watched your video. Great advice. I agreed with every point you said. Im a new subbie. Thank you! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
I like how you take time to explain everything
Christine Owori thank u! so happy u enjoyed the vid ❤️
@@ToriBeauty you're most welcome 😊
You are soo pretty I love this natural hair 😍😍❤️😫
Great tips. Are you high or low porosity?
How often do you moisturize your hair with water through out the day?
My 4C hair doesn’t like gel and manipulation 😫 so know I prefer wear wigs 🤫✨ and I put hydration/protein mask as a base in my hair routine 🤚🏾
I love your eye shadow. Great advice as well. New sub💛.
Memphis10girl 901 thanks so much! ❤️
My sister im your new subscriber ✌️ I love your hair. My issue with my hair is shedding alot. I'm glad I find your channel ❤️
Ur hair is goals omg
Wow. I'm 4C and this was a very interesting video. Thanks!
Lovely video. My hair texture is exactly like yours. I need to get mine to the same length as yours!
Tip #1 was so spot on ‼️ Sheeesh ❤️

All excellent tips, for us 4C sisters. I was watching the wrong ones for a long time.
Black castor oil and water is my new gel!!
amazing! Thanks.. what do you use to detangle? How long it took to get to that length ?
Please can you use contu live in conditioner to moisturize your hair every day
I have a question for the deep conditioning, is it a specific conditioner or is it any conditioner that i can wash out after heating it?
Thank u for this I didn't know and your so beautiful😄
Youre so pretty ! I big chopped two years ago and I'm growing my hair back ☺️
Nice tips, you were very clear 👍🏾
There is some very good clarifying shampoo like the Dudu Osun ( which is also can be us as a soap) this soap/shampoo is from Nigeria made with natural ingredients like shea butter, aloe vera, honey...
How'd you get this hair style? Is it a blow out? It's beautiful.
The Whoever hi! Yes it is a light blowout. Thanks sooo much for your comment beauty
@@ToriBeauty I'd love to see a video of you doing the light blow out one day. I'm sure the other ladies would too. Keep up the good work! 🤗😘
Yes it is!!!!
Gels by The Mane Choice are very natural!! Super light weight! Or maybe if you guys don’t want to use gel, try like a custard!
Journise thank you! I have never tried their gels before I will definitely give it a try! Thanks so much for sharing beauty!!
The mane choice is terrible, Shea moisture is better
I wish to grow my hair as long as yours through these tips!
Wow, what beautiful 4c hair!!
You deserve so many more subscribers, like you’re amazing you helped me so much with my hair😁
I was wondering why hair stopped growing and I've been doing everything you said not to (except following 3c content creators)
so glad i could be of help beauty ♡ thanks for sharing your thoughts
My hair 4c as well!! I’ve always wanted to do my hair like this, how’d you get this look? 💓💓
My problem right now is dryness. I do everything else but my products seem to stop work now. I clarify but nothing works. Guess i will try deep conditioning more.
You hear is so healthy and stony😍 how long hv you been natural?
Hey girl, who is dr Dre please? I loved your video ☺️❤️
Wanna grow my hair but don’t want a huge Afro and am not sure if I can really even take care of it
i have a question though . If I strench my hair with a little bit of heat does it make sense to put water on it the next day? does anyone know of a way to strech your 4C hair quickly without heat. thanks for your responses
What do you think about grease in your hair blue magic,Softee
How often do you wash your hair with shampoo
About the cotton pillow case...that’s me sis..that’s me. My hair don’t grow.
Lol just learned number 3. I was using wetline but then once I switched to kinky curly i felt a HUGE difference in my hair
You’re so pretty !
Hi Tori! What gel do you use? please save me some time...
Thank you so much sis!! 💕
I’m definitely a strong 4c 💪🏾✊🏾 lol
Hey, how often do you blow dry and wash your hair? My hair is just like yours but not as long yet!
Can you please advise me on what my hair type is. Mine is very similar to your but not so curly and more fizzed outwards and not as thick. I'm middleastern and figured that ladies who understand this type of hair can help me learn to care for it better and learn to love it as it is rather than opting for chemical straightening.
Really needed to hear this. Thank you 💖 You’re so beautiful and your hair is goals!!!!😊
thank you so much for your kind and uplifting words beauty ♡
A réal 4c hair chick!yes I can follow this channel!
Your hair is beautiful. How long have you been natural?
Bruh mine ish really did star breaking. 4c texture is so fragile the edges will literally start thinning soooooo fast.
facts! our hair looks so strong but it actually requires such delicacy and attention. such a beautiful concept. ♡ thanks so much for sharing your thoughts
Yes girl I love your light blow out and tbh growing 4c hair is a struggle but it’s definitely possible. I am currently bra strap length and my goal is to be waist length 🤗. I make videos too and will love it if you and anyone else checks it out ❤️
Your hair looks really healthy:)
I do literally everything she said in this video and my hair barely grows lol - besides protective style.. I’m struggling with that
Maybe you should try protective styles😅
Sophie Lana lool thanks tbh I’ve done it once now and it grew more than it would’ve if I didn’t so that’s good
lil ggs moisturize your hair while it’s in protective styles
Call me old school, but my routine is water, a hair lotion or leave in, and seal it with grease(just on the strands) In my opinion grease is made for 4c. I do a hot oil treatement with olive oil/honey on my scalp.
Get a trim every 4-6 weeks. Get sulfate free... shampoo. If u use a gel everyday make sure u use a leave in conditioner, or get a good deep conditioner. Professional products are the way to go
