Took my truck to Bill in 2020. The only day I could pick it up was on a Sunday Bill, and his wife met me at the shop and ended up not getting on the road till around 4:00 pm. Bill and his wife treated me like they had known me for years. RIP Bill and prayers for his family. 🙏🙏🙏
WOW I just saw this and didn't know. The world has lost a GREAT Powerstroke Advocate, mechanic and enthusiast. I have learned so much from him. His channel was the primary resource in my early days of owning my 01 F350 Powerstroke. Such a fine advocate for teaching, helping and sponsoring Veterans Organizations that made a difference. My Bill rest in peace, we in the Powerstroke industry owe Bill a HUGE thank you. Best Wishes & Blessings to Bill, family and friends. Keith Noneya
I watched every stitch of content Bill put on His Channel I feel I like I knew him Personally, his love for the Powerstoke diesel engine is unmatched, his general life lessons have helped me in my Life, I Still watch his videos, will continue to watch. Now that the torch has been Passed to Mike I will follow just as I did Mr.Bill Hewitt I will truly miss you Sir but I won’t forget you
I may not have seen his videos when he was still around but he still helps me when I have a problem with my 7.3L, glad to have found his channel and glad he’s still here immortalized to help all of us.
Damn. First we lost Ron, now we've lost Bill, I really hope we don't loose Clint next! Bill was a legend and a man I learned many things from. He will be dearly missed. Hope he's on the other side helping fix more 6 liters! RIP Big guy!
@LynxStarAuto True that. Love my trusty old 7.3. Gettin real close to 400k mi, and thanks to some of Mr. Hewitts advice it runs every bit as good as it did when it was new. In all honesty tho 6.0s in factory form are real turds, but if you find one in good cosmetic shape that's being sold for cheap ($7000 or less) due to blown head gaskets, then do a full bullet proofing to it and you will have a solid great performing truck for under $20,000....sure beats the hell out buying a new truck for 80g's I'll stick with my 7.3 however due to its simplicity making it easy to diagnose and fix in the rare occasions it needs fixed 🤣
RIP ! MR HEWITT! So sad you that you go ! I learned some much from you and Mr Ron! 😢 Rest on peace! From LA California! My condolences to all my powerstroke community 😢 🙏
I made it a point to stop into his shop and just say hello when I was in Georgia on business in 2016. I didn't want to waste Bill's time beyond a hello and a thank you. Bill was just as you see him in his videos. Big, a bit loud, and with the heart of gold. I made a special point to thank him for his work helping veterans, and for his military service. He was so humble about his military service, saying he didn't do much and that he raises money to help veterans who did. What a guy. The world is lesser without him. Rest in Peace Bill.
I own a powerstroke never met bill but watched his videos and learned so much about ford diesel trucks I never pulled a trailer or anything heavy with my truck I have an enclosed car hauler that I was afraid of pulling with a classic car inside I was nervous but after watching bills last video he said quite babying your truck get a trailer and pull it that’s what there built for just get out there that not only did he push me it inspired me to not be afraid in those situations thank you Bill Hewitt for your time may you RIP.
Ohhhh NO, not Bill, what is going on!! I watched his channel for a long time until he stopped working on 7.3's. But I always went back to see what he was in to haven't looked at his channel in a while and now this😔 My friend, you and Ron helped me out more than you will ever know. RIP brother 🙏✝️
I don’t own a Powerstroke but I came across his old videos when I purchase my 6.6 Duramax . I’ve learned quite few things about powestroke motors because of this man, so I’d like to say thank you for educating me and the rest of the diesel world. May you rest in peace.
I own two powerstroke trucks, and Ive spent countless hours learning to work on them through you three gentlemen. Thankyou for sharing your knowlege to us all.
I mean we all have to go, But to reflect on his life and see how much he helped so many. Seriously taught me so much from his videos. His life wasn’t in vain. Amazing run, my friend.
I cant believe this... I'm just recently getting back into the 7.3 scene again after about 5 years, having bought another one and not but a few months ago. I was starting to do some research to brush up on my 7.3 engine knowledge again when i came across Bill talking about the passing of another creator whom i had always gone to for knowledge which was Ron. Both Bill and Ron got me through times when i had not much to rely on but I knew i had those two there to walk me through just about anything i needed to do for my truck, cuz lord knows i could barely afford the truck itself at the time let alone taking it to a shop. With a few good wrenches to turn and plenty of daylight to burn (in Alaska) they got me back on the road again, everytime. They will both be missed.
so sad, too young.... I feel so bad for his family.... I hope they can find someone to continue to run his shop, but honestly no one will be able to run his shop and channel like he could....
Safe travels brother. Thank you always for helping the blue collar workers to save money doing their on work and keeping the food on our family's table.
I replaced the water pump in an old retired short school bus with a 7.3 in it after having watched Mr. Hewitt’s video series on it. I think it was four parts, maybe five. It made it super easy. His detail and explanation was wonderful. I’m a 7.3 addict, I love them. I still watch Mr. Hewitt’s videos when I start to work on my 7.3 because even if I know how to do it, he could save you time. I’m going to miss this guy’s videos. RIP.
This is unbelievable. I grew up with this man @ 10 years old when I first got into trucks; 27 now.... Thank you Bill. You have taught not only myself, but all of my buddies how to truck on...
