Great review. My impressions would probably be different in person, but I really like the texture of the zinc alloy weight on camera. Nice change from the smooth polish that's more common on keyboard weights.
@@Clackbait Yeah -- if I saw it in person, I'm sure I'd feel it's too rough around the edges. There's an aesthetically pleasing way to do texture (bronze patina, polished marble, etc), versus minimal finishing to save costs. On the complete other end of the spectrum, the mirror finish stuff also looks plenty sexy.
Great vid as always! the silicone weight seems to be the way to go with this one, very tempting option and alternative to the magnificent portal as well as Phantom.
i was looking into getting the zinc weight because i want a higher pitched, less muted sound. what makes you say that the silicone weight is better, just out of curiosity?
I agreed from a price savings perspective. The Silicone will Def mute the sound. Stick with the zinc if you are going for poppy, or no weight at all. If you buy, please consider using my link in the description. 😁
You know that's a great point. Sorry about that. I made this overnight and overlooked adding that. I'll put up a video on my Instagram showing it soon. Appreciate the candid feedback bro! 🙏
@@Clackbait Hey there is no reason to apologize. I didn't even realize I wanted to know until I was done watching the video. Great work, BTW. And thanks!
very clean and solid video production on this man! keep it up :) you've got a great voice and your reviews are short and sweet while still being engaging. Jesus bless you!
Yeah I spoke to CannonKeys after my review went live. They are actually working on getting this fixed and are taking it seriously. Great company they are. Thank homie. 🙏
I'd buy into this board but I already have a kbd67lite. Sure it isn't as flexy but damn does it sound and feel good for the $99 (+20 shipping but holidays sales kind of negated that cost) Those cxa keycaps though, those I think I need to get.
I was looking for a good priced board to just carry around with me in my laptop bag as my office is going to be doing a hotel setup (since ill be in less than half time) this seems like it could do the trick.
Yes indeed my friend. This board is nice. What I really like about the o-ring is how easily it is to get in The case to do mods. Forgot to mentionthat in the review. Haha. Thanks for stopping by! And use the link in the description if you decideto buy! 😁.
Damn, I really don't know should I get this board or not, I really want a foamy sound but missed out on the QK65 and now they might do lavender color or the next run WHICH IS SOMETHING I NEED!
Parallel Limited just released the sequence which has lavender I think. It's a nice board. Will be reviewing it soon. But yeah QK65 is a sick deal for the money. Thanks for watching my friend 😌
sadly this board is far more here in the UK... At 134.99 + 50 shipping + the VAT. So all in all the board is pretty much around £177 to £200ish which is sad as I was really hyped to get my hands on a nice budget board again.
@@Clackbait different account but same person lol. Always watch the vids now. Your content is so well made its just enjoyable throughout. Also I did initially put an order down on it but sent a cancel request, got a response saying they can cancel and all I have to do is reply back which I did... However I haven't got an update if its been cancelled.
Damn I feel that, $60 us shipping to get it here in Aus. I was also hyped for this board but that shipping along with it having higher pitched sound and no screw in stabs because of the gasket mount. So now I am looking for similar board with a deaper sound and cheaper shipping prices.
I am not sure if you are going to respond, so if you order the main board itself, does it come with the stabilizers, pcb, plate and the cable? Just to make sure. Last question, how long did it take for it to arrive?
I was wondering when someone would ask. I haven't tried the Q2 so I can't really say. Badseedtech just released his review. He makes a quick comparison. I appreciate you watching! 🙏
Personally I would go Bakeneko if you want a bouncy typing experience. The Tofu is a good board, but it's tray mount and requires a lot of modding. Both are good options, but imo. Bakeneko65 is a big upgrade to that, and the price is better. If you choose to go Bakeneko65, please use the kind in the description if you feel I helped in any way. 😁
You know that's an interesting point. I was thinking the same, but people seem to really want a case. Although, I don't think removing the case would drop it to 100. Thanks for watching! 🙏
Man, every new enthusiast mechanical keyboard coming out is a 60 or 65%. There is a sprinkling of TKLs, but I really wish 75% would take off more. TKLs are too wide, but I need my F keys!
@@Clackbait I thought it was pretty cool, but it was a little wider than I prefer (getting pretty close to TKL width) and didn’t come in the color I’m looking for.
Hey buddy sorry to bother you again. You heard anything about tangerines switches dropping sometime? I see they put the dragon fruits out and was hoping to get some of those and more tangerines 🍊 Also I love the little bakenekos for the price and sound you can get. Only thing I find the cherry stabs for the space a little finicky, and I use the holee bandaid mod to keep it from clicking and rattling! Did you have trouble with the space bar stab at all??
Hey brother! Not sure about the Tangie drop. If I find out I'll let you know. As far as the stabs, I didn't really have any issues. You check the wire? Space bar warp?
@@Clackbait it may be the wires but I swear every one of the bakenekos I have seems to have that issue if you don’t do the lil bandaid strip in there . I will double check the wire when I take one apart next time
That's interesting. I wouldn't say I'm the best stab tuner out there, but these seem fine to me. If nothing works, try some small strip under the wire where it curves directly on the pcb.
Great review. My impressions would probably be different in person, but I really like the texture of the zinc alloy weight on camera. Nice change from the smooth polish that's more common on keyboard weights.
Yeah I'd say the zinc alloy is pretty cool from a cost savings standpoint. Otherwise I prefer the shiny smooth stuff. Haha. Thanks for watching 🙏

can someone tell me the key to disable teh backlight? i turened mine on by compelete accident and have no clue how to turn it off

It's in the intro and the full version is during the crazy broll in the middle during the build. Song You X You by Ooyy

how do you turn on backlight
Not really a keyboard question but do you have any tips for getting some good b roll
Honestly, I just started doing this myself. Just have a vision and go for it. Pick some good music that works with your vision.

Q2 if you like a more muted and dampened sound. Bakeneko for a more clacky and sharper sound.
