I took my old computer because of your video and tested this, yes, q6600 really carries those games with the similar fps ! (I noticed that I even OC it to 2,8) I bought it 12 (!!!) years ago
I'm just saying that console-oriented development of the main-stream "AAA" games resulted in less need for CPU than we'd normaly expect. Q6600 is still a surprisingly good performer when overclocked and paired with fast DDR3 RAM and a modern graphics card. Of course modern processors are better performers, but at the same time I do not think there were any really dramatic improvements made, it's mostly new instruction sets and archetecture dies, but the "multi core" paradigm was not topped yet, and PC games only slowly are starting to make better use of heavy multi-threading (ironically enough, it's the consoles that push it because their single-threaded performance sucks). Market reality is that most users have quad core CPUs and many are still on dual cores.
a Q6600 at 3.4-3.6Ghz cant moves a GTX 1050Ti 1080p (no with the BEST performance), even a Core2Quad 45nm at 3.6GGhz (Q8400, Q9400, Q9x50 and Xeons socket 771) could bottleneck a GTX 1050Ti at 1080p in CPU-demanding games...Core2quad 45nm at 4Ghz or more CAN moves very good a GTX 1050Ti ( anyway it is necessary to have a MoBo of higher quality for that OC level), but you cant reach that frecuency with a Q6600 (in an environment of normal use)...a Q6600 at 3.6Ghz its similar to Core2quad 45nm/12MB at 3.0-3.2Ghz. For a Q6600 at 3.4-3.6Ghz better a GTX 1050 or RX 560 (Price-Perfomance-Exploitation Ratio).
I agree, there will be a bottleneck even if overclocked but surely it is worth testing. Btw, I owned in the past both a Q6600 and a X5460 but didn't have the chance to test them with a powerful gpu such as the 1050/1050ti.
Look this video...he is from Argentina or Uruguay (IDK), but he talks about Bottleneck with an AMD APU 7850K at 4.4Ghz, 8GB DDR3 and R8 380 (GTX 960, GTX 1050Ti, GTX 760 level .....so,so), the game? MP-BF1; he play at 1080p/Ultra, then change to 1080p/low and later jump to 2560x1440p/Ultra; He talks about finding the balance between CPU/GPU and Resolution/graphic quality that not always the solution is to lower the graphic quality and that sometimes it would have to go in another direction (increase the resolution to at least demand more from the GPU and leave the CPU in peace = a lower framerate but more stable, with greater clarity and graphic quality....without too many annoying peaks and valleys). ruclips.net/video/3MA1uzRZVX8/видео.html :D
I tested a X3220 (Q6600) with duct tape oc to 3.0 GHz with GTX 750 2 GB and this card was a perfect or a bit to much. I tested GTA V with GTX 1050 and saw no gain in performance. IMO i3 21xx are good for potatoes this days.

GTA V needs 6 GB of RAM or more for those long sessions, online specifically. Playable with 4 GB but not really enjoyable if you are picky about frame-latency smoothness.
Since in most games graphics card is not a problem in such PC setup, you'll be fine with a bit slower card. Where GPU is at 99% load (check OSD in video), expect about 15-25% lower performance.
If you bough that 1gb card from ebay. Then you got scammed. They flash them and rebrand 550tis. Hence the 50$ price tag. Do not buy. Save up for a 70$ GT1030 instead. I fell for it. And the cheap 960's on ebay are rebranded old gts 450s

No. I doubt CPU can run the game due to missing instructions - hardware issue. Just too old of a CPU. Either way, 4 GB RAM and slow graphics card just ain't enough for this game so even it possible, it would run below 15 FPS with massive stutter.
this is pretty much what i had untill 8 months ago.. vid card got a bit flakey so it went to the shed for a utube box. but it was fine for most things.

Sorry bud, should have done that. Does gta V stutter because of ram from time to time or is 4 gb ok?
GTA V needs 6 GB of RAM or more for those long sessions, online specifically. Playable with 4 GB but not really enjoyable if you are picky about frame-latency smoothness.
Sssaga Benches Ok thanks for the info 👌. Nice video btw
What temperatures round in this test ?. Did you try putting water cool? thanks for the video
Info box.
If I change my core 2 duo processor with core 2 quad processor
Will these games run?
Yes, should run about the same as long as graphics card is not the weak link.
you have a gtx 750ti on how much less fps if I have 750 1gb tell pancreas
Since in most games graphics card is not a problem in such PC setup, you'll be fine with a bit slower card. Where GPU is at 99% load (check OSD in video), expect about 15-25% lower performance.
If you bough that 1gb card from ebay. Then you got scammed. They flash them and rebrand 550tis. Hence the 50$ price tag. Do not buy. Save up for a 70$ GT1030 instead. I fell for it. And the cheap 960's on ebay are rebranded old gts 450s
which one is better, xeon e5440 or core 2 quad q6600
Xeon.
Sssaga Benches can i play thats game too, but with GT-610 2gb
Some games on low, other will run too poorly even on minimum.
Sssaga Benches how about MSI gtx 750 1Gb GDDR5?
Great match!
hello ... would it be that Witcher 3 would run so well? awesome 😀 now i will get a similar machine, intel core quad 2, 16 giga RAM, Ati Radeon R7 240 OC ... do you think you will have 30 FPS?
Cpu overclock?
Which one is better processor for gaming:
I5 3320M 4×2 core, 2,6GHz (3.30Ghz Turbo)
Or
I7 2620m 4×2 core, 2,7GHz ???
Pretty much similar but i'd take i5 since it has a bit faster graphics unit.
Can you use ddr3 with this cpu?
Yes
Yes 👍 a Dell inspiron 560 motherboard can be stupid cheap they also work with the Xeon mod
not to be mistaken, you can also use ddr2 with this cpu?
Yes.
Can u please make a video on how you ran watch dogs 2 in ur PC because I have only 4 gb ram and it's lagging a lot
Check playlist.
Very Nice Bro
its actually great benchmarking with old CPU paired with new gtx 750ti
Well, this card is 4 years old though but compared to 11-years-old CPU, it's _new_ indeed :D
Hey broo.
Cant i Run Ros Set Hight-Smoth??
In specification=
Prosesor intel core2quad q6600
Ram 4gb
Vga 1gb gddr5 12i8bit
For a 10 year old CPU this is a brilliant performance.
Compilation #2 is soon to be uploaded.
How will it run with gtx 660?
Pls reply
Optimal ;)
Bro tencent gaming buddy chalega x
Overclock or no?
Do you also use gpu
Can these games work with i3 380m 2.53 ghz
Yes. Problem might be too slow graphics card paired with that CPU in laptop.
Thanks for your great efforts
is it possible Fallout 4 ? Btw i have Q6600 and 4gb ram but im not sure about gpu. but i need to buy new one my hd 4770 is not enough at all. Gtx 750 ti looks over power to Q6600 what about gt 1030 cheap and new ? can i see same fps as yours
Yes, F4 will work fine. Graphics card is also a good choice.
nice work with the quad subbed !
holy shit bro, i have the Q6600 2.4Ghz and 4 gb ram at 800mhz too but i dont know if that gpu (or a r5 240, gtx 580, etc) can work fine in my mother P5KPL-VM because have a pci express 1.0
can i play tekken 7 resident evil 7 dragon ball xenoverse 2 on core 2 quad 8 gb ram graphic card GTX 750
i play tekken 7 with this cpu and 4gb ram with gtx650 1gb
How about without gpu
What software you used to record gameplays??
None.
I use DSLR.
bro kia main watch dog 2 kahel skta ho on my pc
cpu : core 2 quad Q9650 3ghz
ram : 4gb ddr3
grafics card Amd R5 230 1gb
No. I doubt CPU can run the game due to missing instructions - hardware issue. Just too old of a CPU.
Either way, 4 GB RAM and slow graphics card just ain't enough for this game so even it possible, it would run below 15 FPS with massive stutter.
Does the frame rate improve slightly when you aren’t recording?
Who says i was recording with software tool? Damn, what other youtubers have done to the gaming community...
Read description.
Yep sorry thought I read it properly, clearly not. At least I wasn’t as bad as some cretin asking about what GPU you were using 😂
this is pretty much what i had untill 8 months ago.. vid card got a bit flakey so it went to the shed for a utube box. but it was fine for most things.
Which Graphic Card is good Rx-470 or Gtx 1050ti ??
Both are good for C2Q, 470 is stronger.
