Also, Oticon hearing aids without a phone are not working. You can't stream music directly from a apple watch.... So basically if you want to have apple watch without a phone, is worthless... For example if you want to go out for running, you always have to bring your phone.
I wear Oticon hearing aids and I totally agree with the comment from the user below that "The fact that I can't answer the phone on the Apple Watch and have it stream to my Oticon hearing aids is a huge annoyance." But more than that, the fact that the Apple Watch can't stream directly to my Oticon hearing aids AT ALL is a huge disappointment to me and I imagine to many other Oticon hearing aids users. Streaming directly to my hearing aids from my iPhone (as well as my TV with an Oticon TV adapter) drastically improves the quality of the sound I hear. It would be awesome if I could listen to music and audio books from my Apple Watch by having the sound streamed directly to my hearing aids. Do you have any idea if/when this technology might become available?
Really great information. Does having a Apple Watch WITH CELLULAR and Widex Moment hearing aids mean that you can answer a call and have the Apple Watch audio pass to the hearing aids. I would not have the Apple Phone near me after initial setup. Thanks!
I had the Resound and these worked great with the Apple watch, but I still had to have my phone with me for them to work with the watch, which kind of defeats the purpose. So I upgraded to the Phonak Audeo Marvels, although they do not have a designated app for the hearing aids, I can stream music and take phone calls with the watch independently from the phone, I can actually leave my phone at home and stream everything to the hearing aids from the watch. Unfortunately, this does not work with the newer Phonak Paradise aids, I tried upgrading to these and ended up going back to the Marvels because they just would not connect. The marvels works great.
I am in Canada and have the Alpha 7 hearing aids. I have not heard you talk about this brand and wondering if there is a video pairing them to the new apple watch 10 that I just purchased. Wondering about he app functions on the watch
The fact that I can't answer the phone on the Apple Watch and have it stream to my Oticon hearing aids is a huge annoyance. I sort of bought the watch because I heard it would integrate with the hearing aids but really all I can do with the Oticon support on the watch is set the volume, which I do find useful at times but not really worth it for that alone. However, the thing I do find the watch really useful for is as a wakeup alarm. Since I am now deaf in one ear, I can sometimes sleep through a regular alarm if my better ear is on the pillow, but having the watch vibrate on my wrist when the alarm goes off is a lifesaver.
Nice... I was wondering if you can speak to the person you are talking to on the phone, using oticon newest firmware that allows you to not use the phone mic? But still using the iwatch on the same time?
The problem of not being able to hear through the HAs when answering the call on your watch is a big issue and needs to be addressed. I wanted to leave my iPhone at home and just use the watch using a sim , because of this issue I can’t hear the conversation on the I watch, when will Apple sort this problem out I can’t be on my own
I have siemens cic hearing aid. If I apply it at 8 o'clock in the morning, the voice becomes slow till 3 o'clock. What could be the problem? PLZZ REPLY😪💔
Doctor, in your personal opinion, do you think we will have the ability to cure or at least restore some hearing loss this decade? Or is it something that only appear when I'm 80?
FYI - the Apple Watch has native default hearing aid controls for ALL made for iPhone hearing aids. Any company that makes MFi hearing aids is supported by Apple Watch offering volume and memory change.
Just got my Apple Watch Se. I found Resound Smart 3D on my watch app list, but "There is a problem with the connection". Bluetooth is on, and my iPhone is nearby. How can I fix this problem?
"Wait another 20 years" - Dude! My 3 year old Bernafon hearing aids can't hold a candle to what these Modern hearing aids can do. The technology is improving so fast, while the ear bud industry appears to have it's sights set on over the counter hearing augmentation as well. I see these technologies converging in the next few years. As a musician with moderate high frequency hearing loss I have found traditional hearing aids to be quite disappointing, so much that my $3500 Bernafon aids found their way into the dresser drawer less than 7 months after I got them as they completely ruined music enjoyment for me. I have tried the Nuheara ear buds and with some refinement, they could completely replace conventional hearing aids for those with moderate hearing loss, while providing a far superior music listening experience. Love the videos Cliff! Please keep them coming!
My sister was fitted for phonak paradise. She asked about her Apple Watch. The audiologist at the ENT just said good question. She just got them. Tell if I’m wrong but the accessories like the sound pickups you put on a table. If you buy hearing aids made for apple my understanding is you can use your IPhone say on a a restaurant table as a mike to send sound to your hearing aids?
Really helped me by teaching me how to change the boost volume up or down on my Apple Watch. GENERAL is only menu program showing on. Though on iPhone I can navigate in the app different background sounds. I had even uninstalled and reinstalled the oticon on app on my watch thinking an issue. Showing how to scroll was a huge help as last night I needed minus 3 fast with an excited little boy like a bull in a China shop getting to see his mom to whom is recuperating away from home. Had I only known how that the app was already on my watch and how to use it…now I am ready.
The ONLY thing I care about wanting my iwatch to do is send sound directly to my Oticon hearing aids the same as my iPhone. Any idea why this capability is not possible yet or when it will be available, because making phone calls with my iwatch (8) is almost impossible given that the iwatch sound volume is so limited and pretty much impossible to use for phone calls in a noisier environment?
Great video Dr. Cliff.... I use Phonak Audeo bilateral hearing aids with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and FitBit Sense smart watch. My audiologist recommended that I use a smart watch because of the acceessibility features for the hearing impaired. I can read text messages, and notifications on my Sense. I use the Phonak app on my phone to control the hearing aids, however. The hearing aids and watch interact via Bluetooth. Question: do Cochlear Implants have similar features and apps as well?
Thank you so much for all the information. Do you know whether the apps are accessible with Voiceover on the iPhone? I have no sight at all and it would be wonderful to be able to do all these things but sadly not all apps are accessible with the Voiceover screen-reader. I have the Resound 1 hearing but wish there was some way to regain my proper hearing as hearing aids are so inferior to proper hearing to a blind person. I love all your videos and love to keep in touch with the new technology. Thank you once again.
My resound hearing aids are competing with my apple watch for bluetooth attention. Apple suggests I not use my Apple Watch when using bluetooth on my hearing aids. This is weird! Suggestions?
I was able to pair my Resound Phone Clip to my Apple watch. Now I can stream music to, and answer phone calls from, my Apple watch using my hearing aids. For phone calls I need to use the Phone Clip for the microphone, but it's at least a step closer, until Apple fixes the lack of direct MFi compatibility.
Since both the ResoundOne M&RIE and the Jabra Enhance Pro M&RIE hearing aids are made by GN, would you expect the Apple Watch to also work with the Jabra Enhance Pro M&RIE?

My audiologist adjusted various settings on her computer to help with wind noise but they are still pretty poor. I do realise they are no longer the top of the range but you talk about everything but wind noise. I usually wear a soft hat to help with wind noise.
Hi, thank you very much for sharing this information. Do you know if the Widex Call-Dex is worth it? Maybe it is possible to recreate Dick Tracy's watch if you modify a cellular watch by adding the JACK connector. I know it sounds like a crazy idea, but maybe it is possible to unify things even more, in my case for example, I would like to be able to do everything without carrying my cell phone with me. I thought the Apple Watch with LTE and Widex Moment, was going to be a great idea, but I see that it is not as independent as I thought. Please, give me your opinion about Call-Dex. Thanks again.
You should make it clear that you cannot stream telephone or music from watch to hearing aids. It is a huge disappointment. I have Resound Ones and everything else is great, but I’m not sure I would purchase the watch again because of this.
Dr Cliff, I'm reading a book about tinnitus, and it's saying when I get a hearing test, I should request pulsed tone testing because it's easier to hear than pure tone testing for people with tinnitus. Have you heard anything like this? Thank you
I'm not a doctor (Well, I have a PhD, but you know what I mean lol). I have a severe hearing loss and a very loud tinnitus. When I get tested, I always do them both. But I never asked the phonoaudiologist the reason for that, I thougth it was the "standart".

I was hugely disappointed when we tried to show her how to use her new watch to make a call that she couldn't hear it in her hearing aids.
