Thank you for another great video! But one thing that I'm wondering about and you never mention is for us musicians. I am a part-time organist at a church and I'm concerned about all the new technology with the new aids that I do not want the aids to change their volume levels. I do want to play and hear the quietest moments as well as the loud 'full organ' moments without the aids fooling me as to how loud or soft it really is. I am aware of my limitations and I do physically do the motions as I think it is doing even though I can't 'truly' hear correctly. The response I get tells me I'm doing OK! Thanks again guys!
Oticon probably has been my longest lasting hearing aid brand of all the brands. My resounds break within 2-3 years. Phonak seems to last about 4 years. My Oticons lasted almost 8 years
I've seen a few of your videos and I appreciate them, thanks for taking the time. I have had the Oticon Intent 1 hearing aids for a little over a week now, after having Real 1s for just shy a month. I'm sure I need to get back to the audiologist for a settings update, but at the moment, I don't like them. For one, they have a rather nasty feedback squeal, whenever I brush my ear, or take on/off my glasses. That and the "head in a bucket" sound is more pronounced. I haven't really noticed any profound or even significant difference in speech quality in crowds yet, but may need more time out to be sure. Hopefully, they can adjust out these 2 sound issues. The other deficiencies you mentioned (Thickness, battery replacement, portable charger, ear wire replacement, etc) taken individually are not too much a burden, but all together are quite a big downer. Unless someone spends a lot of time in crowds and open areas, is there truly a reason to select these over the Reals?
I struggle with the intent bulkiness. I had the Reals for 2 weeks, got on well with them but then the wires made the top of my ears really sore. My audiologist changed to new intent . For one thing the wires are much better shape but as I wear glasses all the time the intents are nowhere near as comfortable as the Reals. So I have a quandary as far as the physical experience of using the reals/ intents. Not sure that I prefer the sound either but everyone is raving about the new technology. 😮
Follow-up on my original comment: I have since returned to the REAL hearing aids. There were just too many deficiencies vs advantages between the Intent and the Real, in my case. (sound quality (significant), non-office-replaceable battery, non-office-replaceable wire assy, inner ear fit/angle was different enough to be bothersome, thickness, not a charging case, exposed charging points). Mind you, some of these may very well have more to do with my lifestyle, than the product. I'm a 63 yo engineer, who works from home. I wear glasses all the time. I may go out to a restaurant once every few months. I go to store regularly, but little else on a regular basis. I have a bunch of younger grand kids, and hearing them is important. After some research, it seems most of the upgrades to the Intent may have more to do with people who spend more time out in crowds, and for them, the Intents may be a better choice. The sound quality, even after adjustments by the audiologist, were not near as good as the Reals, for me. I started to have difficulty understanding both my wife and younger grand daughters (higher freq stuff). The wind noise, while driving in my truck with the window open was much, much worse, to the point I would close the window. The crinkling plastic noise from my very short hair touching the hearing aids was constant whenever I spoke and louder than my speech. Removing my glasses often pulled the aids loose or off, even with the whip attached. Again, these issues could all be lifestyle related, so I wouldn't advise against buying them, but be sure to try both, before you decide.
@@AntonioGranados-k7hI have tried the Intents for a few days. My audiologist only provided 1 program wheras I had 4 with the Reals. I too feel that I hear speech better with the Reals. Strange. Could be some settings that the audiologist need to do. Thanks for your input!
Thank you for the detailed review of the Oticon Intent. It appears that most of the hype surrounding the Intent was accurate. There still seems to be a few dealbreakers for my current needs. As my devices were purchased a year ago, i do not feel the need to replace my Phonak Lumity devices at this time. While i love my Apple devices, i also love my Samsung Galaxy A53 5G phone for its additional accessibility features. The listed features that would be nice to have however i can probably wait until Auracast has been installed in more venues to invest is newer technology. This information has been very helpful.
I just received my Oticon hearing aids, I had used Siemens for the last 10 years. It is different with just one button and not being able to control anything other than the volume on the device. But I like the connectivity features, and the microphone works very well for phone calls. The most annoying thing I have found is listening to an audiobook and someone comes up to chat with me and I have to say wait a minute while I fumble around for my phone to pause the audiobook.
I currently have the signia insio charge and go, I have sensineural hearing loss. I love these bc of the dual processor. Dual processor is amazing, huge difference than previous hearing aids from signia i whave used. My speech became much clearer and I can hear much further. Are these oticons better than the insio? I will be shopping for a new pair in about 16 months. The rechargable last about 3 years and i got the insio in 2022.
Dr. Cliff, I have watched multiples of your videos. I must say I’m a huge fan being someone who sat the hearing loss since 11 months old thanks to spinal meningitis finding a hearing care professional that is as knowledgeable and clear about what to expect can be very daunting so I wanted to say thank you in advance for all that you do, I was wondering if it’s not too much trouble if you could answer question. I use power because I seem to get more of all the sounds that I view with a custom fit. I have been told my entire life. The custom will work better for me, but have not Experienced that. My question specifically is if I’m using power domes, what would be the equivalent in custom molded.
I just got my new Oticon Intent hearing aids yesterday and love them. I've been using Resound hearing aids for years and was reluctant to change, but based on the recommendations from my audiologist, I made the jump. As someone that loves technology, toys and new features, I'm so glad I made the change. I've been making a list of pros and cons for my follow-up appointment with my audiologist in four weeks and so far, it's all pros!! I have an iPhone and the music streaming is so much better I left my air Pods at home when I went to the gym today. Don't get me wrong, the sound quality doesn't match my air Pods, it's just given me an option, if I'm willing to sacrifice a little of the bass. One thing I noticed right away is that I no longer hear the rustling-sound when putting on my glasses or brush my hand across my hearing aids: it's barely even noticeable. My only complaint, with all MFI hearing aids, is that they still aren't compatible with my Apple Watch. When will Apple fix this?!
It should be noted that the 60, 85, 100, and 105 receivers is not about how much amplification they provide, but how much of a hearing loss they can handle. A 60dB receiver doesn't give 60dB of gain, but fits hearing loss thresholds of up to 60dB on the audiogram, so is oriented towards mild to moderate losses. I find their labeling is misleading for this reason, as no receiver has more than 86dB of amplification (which just so happens to be the Oticon XCeed Ultra-Power BTE), and can fit hearing losses up to 120dBHL.
Hello Dr Cliff, love your vids, really helpful. I had the Reals for two weeks, got on great but then the wires made above my ears very sore. So my lovely audiologist suggested I try the INtent. I'm changing back to the Reals. With the Reals, when I talked to my sister on the phone, I could hear the clock on the wall ticking. It sounded over there on the wall, not like my previous aids which made everything just loud, so I heard sounds in the distance. ( I have mod/several high tone loss, struggled with othe Aids for15 years). But while I was talking my BRAIN put the ticking sound in the background and I didn't hear it anymore. After finishing the conversation , the ticking sound came back. I haven't had that happen for years and it was really exciting. The intents, however, put the ticking in the background for you. I think this means that my brain does not start relearning to do that sort of thing. Intent sound very natural but for me, poor clarity, and felt no excitement. just, yes natural sound but all a bit flat . Shape is not as good with glasses but wires are much better, shame they don't do them for the Reals. You are so right about how important the audiologist is and I am so fortunate that mine is so kind and conscientious. I realise it's horses for courses but the Intents are not for me. Just hope the INtent doesn't end up being the only option in the future. BTW, brilliant review of Intents ( even though I don't like them! Thank you.
I'm sitting here watching this through my Oticon Intent 2's and I've not connected my Mac as yet to them but I'm now having the benefit of the sound - I can hear the AI taking over to putting this sound into my ears. it's astounding.
Hi, thank you, this was really helpful. I am interested in improving my ability to hear bird songs, many in the 6,000 to 10,000 hertz range are harder to hear for me. Would this be your recommendation for a hearing aid for bird songs?
I’m on day 4 of these hearing aids. This is the first time I’ve had hearing aids. I can hear too much so at my follow up I’ll have to have my audiologist change the setting…I think. So far, I’m amazed at how much I didn’t hear before these little beauties. I’m in “training” my brain at the present time. I like them but the do take time to get used to.
Thank you so much!!! I will be going in for my hearing aid upgrade next week! I truly wish I lived in Arizona just so I would be cared for by you!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great review, I just got mine 1 week ago. I bought the mid level version since my insurance did not cover the top tier. The mid level has 20 frequencies and the top one had 24 and the price was not worth it i felt. I love the customization on the app and it’s helped my audio doctor to customize them for my needs. As a tech professional I like the amount of tweaks I can do. I found that with some tweaks they make for great eavesdropping devices on conversations too 😂
My provider is Charging me 6K including 4 years of maintenance service and yearly replacement if lost. Please don't get them wet, they're only water resistant, not waterproof. Similarly, just like the warranty of your car, All costs incurred are yours after the 4 years from purchase. By then, the tech will be more advanced and your pocket lint will grow. CareCredit offers interest-free payments up to 18 months, ( Miss a payment and they will slap you silly with the highest interest rate they have from the original date ) FYI
Asking for memory trait in the retention filament, might go further than just saying stiffer. so you can shape it, and it remembers it, until you grab the base of the filament where it connects to the hearing aid to apply enough leverage, to over come its springiness?
Hello! I answered stumbled upon your video just a few minutes ago. I like how you were very detailed-oriented about the article on hearing aids. I recently just got a pair of phone neck hearing aids. I'm hearing impaired and both ears severe in the left and mild in the rain right. I wanted to know how if you can talk about the phone that hearing aids? I'm not sure which level I have but I heard it was supposed to be close to the advanced version. But the sound quality sounds like a speaker phone inside your ear and it throws me off. So I wanted to know if you could talk about all the phone that hearing aids and which might be best.. thank you. The octagon sounded like it has way too much maintenance for me to deal with.
It figures - I just bought an iphone 3 days before I saw this video! Dr. Cliff- How do these work when aside from needing noise reduction you also have hyperacusis?
Thanks for the awesome efforts to keep the world up to date on hearing tech. You mention your iphone but not the model. Does iphone 14 and 15 that have the 5.3 standard work as well as the Galaxy phones with Intent aids?
Hi Cliff, I have been reading heaps since I found out my loss was in the low frequencies (Reverse slope loss). I see that Oticon uses Frequency lowering and wondered if any brand did the opposite, frequency lifting ? Cheers
VA Just fitted me with the Intent aids. I am amazed at the way my hearing is improved. never realized I had hearing issue. One thing I noticed. When listening to iTunes or any music the Sound quality is massively improved if I put my fingers over my ear inlet. Music goes for tinny fidelity to extraordinary Bass, treble etc. Sounds as if I have headphones on. Is that just the way it is, or can music listening be improved somehow?
Well as an audiologist i think the oticon opn s had one of the most important upgrades when it comes to hearingaids. Anyone who wants to know. They improved the way the hearingaids handle acoustic feedback Basically you can make them much louder with the same kind of vent on the earpiece. Some hearing aid manufacturers still till this day have issues with that. The best one's when it comes to reducing acoustic feedback are Phonak (they have been the best at this for years at this point) Oticon and resound.
I am wearing--and am currently trying-- these new Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere, level 90 Premium hearing aids. I loved your video--I am a first time watcher. Here's my question--so far, I haven't experienced what you suggest is possible--significantly lowering background noise in a restaurant which is my main concern. When I put the program to speech in noise, what other adjustment settings should I use as to volume (how low or high), Noise reduction (how low or high}, speech focus (how wide or narrow), and Dynamic (decrease loud or increase soft)? I'm desperate to make these hearing aids work as well as you suggest they can. Please contact me-I would so appreciate it!!! Marlene
Thanks for the your review of the Intent. I had a question about Android connectivity, however. I have a Pixel 7, phone which supposedly supports Bluetooth LE, but the Oticon website shows that the Pixel 7 streams and does calls using the "Connect Clip." Your review doesn't mention the Clip, so I'm wondering if it's really required or not? Is it?
Couple of questions before I buy these, Compared to airpods how do they sound? and do you think down the road they will add a pause function on these for music?
asking for a family member who has given up on hearing aid he has oticon bought from a auduoolagy shop he says can not hear in loud areas is it possible they were not programed correctly his rep at the store
When the noise reduction kicks in do you get noise in the ear as it changes? I currently have Phonaks that when they are on "automatic" sensing gives me this shaaaa noise ( same as when your computer used to connect to a network) as it scans the sound and changes. Drives me crazy as it is constantly sensing and making that noise so I lose some of the content of a conversation. The result is that I change the program when I put the aides on to a speech program that is constant.
Thanks for the review. It couldn’t be any better timing as I am looking for an upgrade from my Phonak P70. I did try the More 3 years ago and they were really bad, the DNN wasn’t up to the hype. I am willing to give AI a second chance. But also considering the Lumity L90 to stay within Phonak ecosystem. And yes, blutooth is always a mess. Phonak is one of the best in that area though. And I don’t care much about sound/music quality, so long as it’s acceptable
I actually switched to the Oticon 2 months ago. And so far it’s performed incredibly well. I am amazed at just how in 4 years the AI improved. The directional microphones also are amazing, I can hear conversations happening behind me. Right now I am set at 65% power and already making the difference. Another notable difference is that I hardly have to adjust anything from the app. With the Phonak I could never quite get the settings right, especially trying to reduce the occlusion effect. With the Oticon I don’t have any even when I up the volume.
I was looking at the website and there is support phone number listed for all the countries except Canada and US. I wonder why the biggest countries don’t have support line, just curious.
Great review. I love my more1’s but willing to trade them for these 3 reasons that are driving me nuts: 1 wind sound, 2 contact sounds of my hair, 3 sound drops with streaming. If my iphone 15 is in my pocket the stream drops sound bits. Ending up wearing my jabra t85 for podcast listening. Is this one better?
When talking about technology levels on the Oticon Intent is the hardware the same with different software? If so can I later upgrade to a higher technology level with a software upgrade I can purchase? 🤔🤔🤔
The intent has both different hardware and software. Unlike the more recent/previous models, the intent uses the Sirius chipset. The intent is a pretty decent jump in technology level, but it's also a good starting point if you're purchasing HAs for the first time and want the most longevity to them.
I just purchased the Costco version of Oticon Real - the Phillips 9040 and still am in the trial period. Therefore I would have the opportunity to exchange them for the Phillips 9050 - the Costco version of Oticon Intent. Would you suggest this?? I am trying to upgrade from 7 yr old resound hearing aids.
Is the Bernafon 400 equal to the Oticon Intent? Sister companies that share the same technology. I understand though, that Bernafon does do things slightly differently....I'm in Canada and I will be pucking up my Bernafon 400 in a few days - only x1 hearing aid for my left ear.
Hi, does anyone know how to separate the aids so that each can be tuned to a separate channel rather than always acting as a pair? Doesn’t seem to be an option in the Oticon app but the audiologist yesterday said there was. I paired them with the phone both together - should I have done them individually in some way?
Is the LE Bluetooth Audio LE supported no all iPhones? I can't quite figure this out. I've seen some references that support starts with iPhone 14 but that didn't seem definite.
Frequency response? Oticon claims amplification from 80-10kHz while Resound and Phonak amplification drops precipitously above 8kHz. Could that be the reason for Oticon’s better performance?
So it sounds like they finally solved the connectivity issue. Yay!!! They are definitely chunky. Dr. Cliff your ears are definitelty sticking out when you put these on. They are starting to make some eye glass frames with really narrow earpieces however, so that may be the answer. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the your review of the Intent. I had a question about Android connectivity, however. but the Oticon website shows that S23 streams but needs connect clip for two way communication." Your review doesn't mention the Clip, so I'm wondering if it's really required or not? Is it?
Instead of repeating the potentially biased claims of the manufacturers, what is your personal experience with speech clarity (via your patients) with these new hearing aids? Thanks.
I received an e-mail from a patient I just fit with INTENT 1. He LOVES the benefit he is receiving however, when streaming phone calls using his Galaxy S24 Ultra he isn't able to turn up the volume. He spoke with Oticon Support and they said it's due to a bad security patch? Hopefully they will work this out soon!
I have a question, for Dr. Cliff but also any Oticon intent user. I m wearing those hearing aid for a couple of weeks now and I face weird noises from time to time, like if they were bugging. It looks like it goes on and off very quickly or something, and making little noises a bit like interferences. I don't know where it comes from and how to fix it, neither do my audiologist. I get the same issue with Oticon real a few monts ago, but not in that amount, with another audiologist. And I didn't take them because he also couldn't figure out what it was... I don't get it, it's frustrating. Any ideas ?
Only having one button for volume control is such a major no-go what the hell were they thinking?? And no in office replacable batteries or detachable wires from ear molds... This is so anti consumer and just plain awful!!
Great videos! Thank you 😊 Do you like the Signia better than the Oticon? I have the Bicore Li for severe hearings loss, over the ear, rechargeable. First time I wear hearing aids. Big difference, I can hear now. The sound is not as awesome as my AirPods unfortunately 😢
I was really excited to hear about these because I’m going to need new aids soon since mine are starting to have bad sound quality. Do you know if they will come out with a BTE version that has the same level of amplification? My ears are notorious for not keeping receivers in or does Oticon have the option for the power fold to be a full mold style? Previously when I had this style aid we had silicone molds made by another company to put the power receiver in. I know you said that these power receivers can’t be removed. These sound like they have every feature I wish my Xceeds had
I have recovered from menniers, however not without the loss of hearing in my right ear my cochlea is badly damaged and has taken my low frequency hearing with it, I currently have the oticon more aids, do you think I might benefit from the new intents, I would easily invest if I could get to enjoy playing my acoustic guitar again and enjoy concerts more? TIA
I would love these except I don't hear well enough to get past the receptionist and consultation. I realized you must be able to HEAR before you can get hearing aids. I didn't realize it would be this difficult. I won't try again.
When my wife got hers, the professionals essentially told her she needed an iPhone to use them adequately. Nice to know they are doing better with Android. Whether or not you need a professional to get the most out of these, one could wish that the user would have full access to all the tuning abilities of this system, as the owner of them. Having downloadable configurations could assure that one could always go back to the professionally created one, but techies wanna fiddle.
I really like your editing better in this video personally I understand that you like having editors editing your videos but you did a fantastic job on this video. I really like how you zoomed in when you showed how the hearing aid fits. So I really think this is so much better edited than your old videos.
Your never gonna beat my oticon Parasonic 420s true unedited sound, no computer to tell the hearing aid to die or to shut off when the battery dies, just keeps on going. Also has a on/off/telephone mode switch (not a button, a actual 3 way swich) These old hearing aids are so accurate you can hear a dog whistle and other ultrasonic sounds with them on! also music is a whole better experience with the parasonics in.
When is Oticon going to update their hearing aids for profound deaf users? Xceed is already 5 years old! My audiologist doesn’t recommend Oticon Intent for my hearing level🧐
as always I like your videos And I hope that the VA hospital is giving best practices plus I never been anywhere else to know if they are so I'll hope they are.
Fellow Veteran Thank You for your Service. I have PHONAK rechargeable hearing aids from The Tampa FL VA Medical Center w / the power bank portable travel case .
I have a question for Dr. Cliff and any Oticon intent user. I'm wearing those since a couple of weeks now, and from time to time it looks like the hearing aids are bugging. They make some strange noises like interferences or like if they went on and off very quickly and repeatedly for a couple of seconds, and my audiologist doen't know where it comes from and can't fix it. I have the impression it happens when there are multiple sources of sounds and it looks like the hearing aids are overwhelmed and don't know where to focus.... i had the same issue, but it a midler way, with Oticon REAL a couple of months ago, with another audiologist. I didn't take them, cause I thought it was really annoying to have thoses bugs. Both of the audiologist I went to, have good reviews in the ciity I live... Anyone facing the same thing ? Someone know what it is ? Thank you
I"ve noticed that if I leave bluetooth on for my iPhone or iPad, that my Oticon hearing aids try to communicate randomly, and there's a momentary loss of hearing when this happens. Problem solved by making sure my bluetooth is always turned of when I'm not actively using it, say for a phone call or Zoom meeting.
Since the new charger is connected to a power source by a USB cable, an external rechargeable battery can be connected to it as a work-around until a smart charger, with an internal battery, is available.
I just bought new Oticons Intents and having a major problem when listening to acoustic musical instruments like guitar, mandolin, violin, etc. The Intents create a high frequency oscillation with a slight phasing that is truly annoying. I'm a performing folk guitarist and I was hoping to wear these HAs while performing but that's not possible, the oscillation is too distracting for me. I also hear this oscillation and latency on high end sounds like warning signals and tones from my car, household appliances and/or anything else that emits high tones. My Oticons were calibrated by one of the best pro audiologists in the area but I still have this problem and staring to feel pretty hopeless and disappointed. Do you have any experience with this problem and have any recommendations?
@rodabernethy7277 I have a similar problem with Oticon More 1s. Very annoying when you want the clean acoustic sound. Changing to custom earmolds has helped, but I can still detect the phasing and bloom/reverb like distortions. Piano, guitar, and especially harmonica (!) all have issues. An audio engineer told me it may be related to the degree of compression and the attack/release settings.
Ugh, why go to one button!? That's a step back in innovation.... I was programming aids where the right up/down button was for volume, and left up/down button was for program change. Removed the confusion of long/short presses..... Dang.
Thanks, although I was hoping a bit more on the actual sounds of these, particularly as compared to REAL, which, of course, I just bought a couple months ago, since all indications were OTICON wasn't going to release "the next big thing" for at least a year or two..... oh well..
My iphone 15 pro max has Wi-Fi 6E (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) dual-band Bluetooth 5.3 (A2DP, LE) Ultra-wideband. And I had added two travel chargers to my hearing aids when I bought them a few weeks back. So you can get the travel charger now.
So, Oticon FINALLY added tap control, then made it so all you can do is answer the phone? Tap control is the entire reason I switched from Oticon to Phonak with my last refresh. I was looking forward to Oticon finally catching up and they do this? I'll stick with Phonak.
From your experience how long until this new technology makes it to the Own? I wear custom Oticon Own 1s and have a list of items I hope Oticon addresses soon.
I just watched your video cautioning folks about hearing aide come on's, fake reviews, unsubstantiated claims, etc. My next two video's of yours, guess what? Accolades about specific hearing aides by specific companies with hardly a mention of your relationship to the Company. Also, missed the mention about how one device may be good for one person and not for another for a number of reasons. Addendum: Not surprised by someone on RUclips providing their credential right after their name, saying what they won't do a professional and then doing a version of it anyway!
At last…..an excellent presentation. Honest, cogent, realistic and accessible. Bravo
Thank you for another great video! But one thing that I'm wondering about and you never mention is for us musicians. I am a part-time organist at a church and I'm concerned about all the new technology with the new aids that I do not want the aids to change their volume levels. Fellow Veteran Thank You for your Service from an Air Force Veteran n VA Retiree as well !!
Glad to hear the Android LE Audio Bluetooth works better with the Intent aids than previous versions!! So glad they are set up for Auracast as well!!
The best chanel of hearing aid !!! i am oticon real user !! love it !!
Intent sound very natural but for me, poor clarity, and felt no excitement. just, yes natural sound but all a bit flat
I found that with some tweaks they make for great eavesdropping devices on conversations too 😂
Is the soft noise reduction as good as before for hair and glasses noise?
My provider is Charging me 6K including 4 years of maintenance service and yearly replacement if lost. Please don't get them wet, they're only water resistant, not waterproof. Similarly, just like the warranty of your car, All costs incurred are yours after the 4 years from purchase. By then, the tech will be more advanced and your pocket lint will grow. CareCredit offers interest-free payments up to 18 months, ( Miss a payment and they will slap you silly with the highest interest rate they have from the original date ) FYI
I am paying $6,600 for Intent 1 with 4 year service and warranty. Hope they last 5 years.
I’m looking to get one and they want 6500 and if I don’t like them, they will keep about 500.
Is there a way to get them directly from Oticon?
You can get them cheaper, but you’ll still need to have an audiologist set them up, as for warranty and essentials that may be an issue.
Excellent info. Much better than the Actual Oticon training we had
I’m 19 and I’m getting my first pair of hearing aids in a few weeks, and it’s gonna be the intents! I’m so excited to be able to hear better!
I've bought these. I'm amazed by what I'm hearing. you will be too. They're just amazing what technology they have.
They improved the way the hearingaids handle acoustic feedback
Basically you can make them much louder with the same kind of vent on the earpiece.
Some hearing aid manufacturers still till this day have issues with that.
The best one's when it comes to reducing acoustic feedback are Phonak (they have been the best at this for years at this point)
Oticon and resound.
Ok so how does your android phone sound with the LE from the Resound Nexia (top tier technology). Nearly the same distance?
I like my Real and will stay with that. Though can the new ‘thicker wire’ be attached to the Real (by my audiologist)?
No. They have different connectors at the hearing-aid end of the wire.
Is it?
Couple of questions before I buy these, Compared to airpods how do they sound? and do you think down the road they will add a pause function on these for music?
asking for a family member who has given up on hearing aid he has oticon bought from a auduoolagy shop
he says can not hear in loud areas is it possible they were not programed correctly his rep at the store
From what model to what model?@@amirnathoo4600
I was looking at the website and there is support phone number listed for all the countries except Canada and US. I wonder why the biggest countries don’t have support line,
just curious.
They sound fantastic, The VA 2 years ago fitted me with the Oticon More 1 minirite hearing aide. What is the difference between these and the Intent
I have a Phonak cross hearing aid so is this going to be available with a cross hearing aids?
Great review. I love my more1’s but willing to trade them for these 3 reasons that are driving me nuts: 1 wind sound, 2 contact sounds of my hair, 3 sound drops with streaming. If my iphone 15 is in my pocket the stream drops sound bits. Ending up wearing my jabra t85 for podcast listening. Is this one better?
Is DNN v2.0 only available in "Intent 1" and not in the other 3?
Thanks, I am a fan! What is the specific Phonak retention filament model you mentioned that would fit the Oticon 85db receiver?
Any idea if they will come out with a 312 version for this model?
Is the Bernafon 400 equal to the Oticon Intent? Sister companies that share the same technology. I understand though, that Bernafon does do things slightly differently....I'm in Canada and I will be pucking up my Bernafon 400 in a few days - only x1 hearing aid for my left ear.
Dr, I have SSD. Are the Intent compatible with CROS or BICROS?
@@johnbrews9724 Neither Oticon, nor any other hearing aid, is capable of amplifying out to 10kHz. 8k is the absolute MAX.
Is it?
How do these compare to the Philips 9040 aids?
Instead of repeating the potentially biased claims of the manufacturers, what is your personal experience with speech clarity (via your patients) with these new hearing aids? Thanks.
I received an e-mail from a patient I just fit with INTENT 1. He LOVES the benefit he is receiving however, when streaming phone calls using his Galaxy S24 Ultra he isn't able to turn up the volume. He spoke with Oticon Support and they said it's due to a bad security patch? Hopefully they will work this out soon!
does the intent come with a full mold and if they have something like phonak active vent, can the encase the vent into mold?
I never, ever use buttons on hearing aids. I wish they went button-less. Triple-click (iPhone) only for me.
Can you use LE Bluetooth with a recent iPhone.
I'm also curious whether the iPhone 15 supports LE Audio and Auracast! Does anyone happen to have an iPhone 15 and could check?
No. iPhone uses MFi and does not have LE Bluetooth.
I am SSD and have a CI on one ear. Does the 4D sensor works only binaurally?
Intent 2 came with a Smart Charger option this week!
TIA
Ive been told by one programmer that Oticon in their opinion is the best brand to deal with tinnitus. What say you Doctor?
Are the Oticon hearing aidssimilar to the Jabra hearing aids that are sold at Costco? Will you compare the Costco Jabra to the Oticon?
Then Phillips 9050 is the same as this Oticon and is available at Costco.
I would love these except I don't hear well enough to get past the receptionist and consultation. I realized you must be able to HEAR before you can get hearing aids. I didn't realize it would be this difficult. I won't try again.
Does the VA follow best practices when fitting?
Not in Topeka Kansas.
You can fiddle with these.
Just got the Intent 1, issues getting tap to answer/end feature. Also two way streaming not for calls not good either.
I like it when you talk nerdy numbery stuff.
I really like your editing better in this video personally
I understand that you like having editors editing your videos but you did a fantastic job on this video.
I really like how you zoomed in when you showed how the hearing aid fits.
So I really think this is so much better edited than your old videos.
Your never gonna beat my oticon Parasonic 420s
true unedited sound, no computer to tell the hearing aid to die or to shut off when the battery dies, just keeps on going. Also has a on/off/telephone mode switch (not a button, a actual 3 way swich)
These old hearing aids are so accurate you can hear a dog whistle and other ultrasonic sounds with them on! also music is a whole better experience with the parasonics in.
Do the better Intent wires fit the Reals?
why do you not expand about the differences between the levels 1 and 2?
Dr Cliff one Oticon feature you have not mentioned is for Cross users you can still hear sounds from your Cros even when streaming
When is Oticon going to update their hearing aids for profound deaf users? Xceed is already 5 years old! My audiologist doesn’t recommend Oticon Intent for my hearing level🧐
then, which brand and model does your audiologist recommend for you?
Oticon Xceed which I declined. Went with a different audiologist that recommended Phonak Lumity Naida.
as always I like your videos And I hope that the VA hospital is giving best practices plus I never been anywhere else to know if they are so I'll hope they are.
Fellow Veteran Thank You for your Service. I have PHONAK rechargeable hearing aids from The Tampa FL VA Medical Center w / the power bank portable travel case .
@@RobertShaw-fl3os thank you for saying that, and thank you for your service
Does Demant design the Oticon brand with more technology than Demant puts in the Philips brand?
I have enjoyed working with the Oticon Intent product. But, to my understanding, the new level that was created is the top tier technology.
The Smart Charger will not work with these Hearing Aids?
Not the current SmartCharger, but they are creating a new one.
So, Oticon FINALLY added tap control, then made it so all you can do is answer the phone? Tap control is the entire reason I switched from Oticon to Phonak with my last refresh. I was looking forward to Oticon finally catching up and they do this? I'll stick with Phonak.
Thanks for the honesty, Dr Cliff
Just a query Dr C, are you a hearing aid wearer yourself?
From your experience how long until this new technology makes it to the Own? I wear custom Oticon Own 1s and have a list of items I hope Oticon addresses soon.
I enjoyed the nerdy receiver wire info 😅
ReSound has done this since 2020 with SureFit3
The packaging is ridiculous! I say get AARP involved! Thank you for the presentation.
How about Samsung s24 ultra that uses Bluetooth 5.4 and LE?
I think there were some issues with the S24s and LE Audio. That's why I haven't upgraded from my S23 yet.
What’s the most powerful hearing aid on the market today? I wear Oticon Xceed 3 SP and I’m told that those are the most powerful aids available.
