I wear these devices and love them! Many patients never turn off their phones or close out their app and by doing so routinely, I have found very limited BT issues. Streaming has been great for me, and the Audiologist at Oticon have been wonderful in advising small changes that has made big improvements for my patients. They came out with a Smartcharger last week! Also the app shows a longer number of hours for the battery than you mentioned- more like 25-27 hrs-maybe 20 hrs with heavy streaming. Hasn’t been a problem for me or my patients. Thanks for the review!
Wear the Oticon Intent 1’s. Connect seamlessly to my iphone 15 pro max which has LE Bluetooth using the Oticon Companion app. Streaming to date has been faultless. I listen to music and apps that use relaxing sounds which assist in masking my tinnitus. I have had tinnitus for 50 years and it does not bother me at all. I use the sound button in the Companion app to select another device, my iPad without having to switch off my iphone Bluetooth. I've been using Oticon Real with an iPhone 11 for 2 yrs now and haven't had any connectivity issues but I only try to connect to my phone. It's interesting to hear that other manufacturers have multiple Bluetooth connections. Thanks. One feature not discussed is the "Find my hearing aid" feature. Who does this best? I lost one of my Real hearing aids a year ago and tried the feature. Unfortunately it only worked crudely locating the hearing aid within maybe 20 ft. and it used Apple Maps crude location instead of Google Maps more precise location. Because this happened in the garden, I never found the missing hearing aid. Eventually the battery died. One thing that would have helped would have helped would have been the ability to make the hearing aid feedback. That squeal might have allowed me to locate the missing hearing aid.
I go tomorrow for my fitting. The audiologist at the VA (Veteran’s Affairs) has recommended and ordered me the Oticon Intents. My Oticon is fine is most places Except… where there is ambient sound like restaurants. I hear sound that makes conversation impossible. Adjustment of my unit is very difficult .
Mathew the Minifit detect speakers - the 1db accuracy matters. Let me explain just an example: patient comes with a broken receiver, you can swap the speaker knowing that your measurements from speech mapping will the the same. Where as with the traditional Minifit speaker you will still have to re run rem to verify you are matching targets. In this just instance it has saved you a bit of time. Yes, most people would change receiver not run rem.
I just received the intent 2 and Bluetooth connectivity is a real issue. I can’t have my phone any more than 18” away from the hearing aids without them disconnecting
Regarding the +/- 1 dB tolerance of the recievers, I believe my Oticon rep told me the manufacturing tolerance of the old receivers (for them and everyone else) was +/- 3dB

Have tested the Signia ix5 and it was normal that one ear lost connection to my iPhone 14. Switching the iPhone to the other hand, the connection loss was switching ear as well. The Oticon Intent shows this bad behavior only when I press it on my body. Yes, it should be better.
I had Bluetooth connected with the music on pause most of the day. I'm not sure what that means vs closing the app regards the hear aid power..albeit can understand the phone battery has more open apps and falls down also

Hello Matthew. I wear Phonak. I see that the upgrade for the Phonak custom hearing aids has just come out. the oticon just is not something I will ever buy again. I had oticon and they were sent back to the factory a total of 4 times in less than 2 years. the latest issue was the battery in the left hearing aid going through batteries every 20 minutes. They just could not get it right.
I’ve used Costco hearing aids for many years. If you have mild to moderate hearing loss, Costco might work fine for you. I noticed that since hearing aids are now considered medical devices, some Costco hearing aids are now rated as OTC. Oticon hearing aids are Rx. My hearing is now moderate to severe in one ear and severe to profound in the other. Costco hearing aids can not meet my needs (my wife’s need to talk to me).
