  • In this video, Mike shares his journey with hearing loss and his recent experience with the Oticon Intent hearing aids. Starting with his initial diagnosis 40 years ago, Mike describes the challenges he faced with tinnitus and cochlear otosclerosis, a condition that led to a gradual deterioration of his hearing. After years of using various hearing aids, he recently switched to the Oticon Intent, which he praises for its advanced AI technology, deep neural networks, and 4D sound localization. These features significantly improve his speech recognition and overall hearing experience, even in noisy environments. Mike also provides practical advice on using third-party providers for purchasing hearing aids and highlights both the pros and cons of the Oticon Intent. Despite its bulkiness and need for nightly recharging, Mike is thrilled with the improved quality of life these hearing aids have brought him.

This was the best review on the Intent that I have found. I have a profound loss and have never had a set of aids that have helped very much. When I came across an ad for the Intent I was anxious to see if they would help me. I haven't heard birds, cicadas, or understood conversations in groups in many years. My audiologist isn't promising a great improvement, but I'm trying to be positive about an improvement. I will be getting them in August of 2024. I will post an update.

I am wearing an Oticon…at least four plus years. Ambient sound is the problem so news of the Intent is of interest. This video is highly valued.

The intent's ability to control ambient noice was, quite frankly, mind-blowing! You should definitely try these out and see for yourself! Subscribe to see more videos like this! ruclips.net/user/Ziphearing?sub_confirmaton=1

Great story, I was very interested and glad you were able to find the solution. I have hearing loss due to lifelong tinnitus. I had a bad episode last late December with my left ear that prompted hearing tests. I needed hearing aids; my wife has been telling me this for years. The audiologist gave me Oticon because of my tinnitus, but I chose Intent 2, since I didn't really need 1. I couldn't believe the difference when I first wore the hearing aids. I could hear the fan running in her office. The noise was loud, and I was told we live in a loud world. So, I better get used to it, I thought to myself. I could hear the turn signal in my car while music was playing, and I had to turn the music down. I could now hear certain birds, I heard noises which I never noticed before, what a difference, especially fans on devices. The audiologist matched up what my hearing deficiencies were to the hearing aids. My wife loves them because I don't have the TV volume up so loud. I love listening to music and playing guitar. I can now distinguish the frequencies much better, and the low end sounds more defined. I had to change virtually all the settings on my amps and guitar effects pedals. The Oticon Intent 2 are my first hearing aids, and they are a game changer. The charging doesn't bother me, I have traveled with it. I wear safety glasses for my job with my hearing aids, not bad but it's something I had to get used to. I should use the Speech Booster more often when I'm in a restaurant or at family gatherings, I know that would improve conversations.

Thanks Mike. That was an excellent review. I bought my Oticon Real 2 hearing aids just before the Intent was released, but I am certainly impressed by the quality of the device. Personally for me I enjoy not having to deal with the batteries. Pop them in the charger overnight and you’re ready to go in the am. The sound quality of The Oticon is incredible. My only regret is not getting them sooner.

The smart charger doubles as a portable charger. Uou get 3 complete charges of your intent aids from 1 charge of the charger. It's a great feature.

Agreed! I absolutely love these smart chargers! They are just so convenient and high tech.

Great! I just got these a week ago. First time ever wearing hearing aids. I can't always tell where a sound is coming from, maybe that'll get better as I get used to them. Also some things sound artificial. Maybe that'll get better as well, or maybe that's the way they really sound, I honestly don't know for sure. I agree with wearing glasses, sometimes they rub and make scratching noises. If you wear a hat, the hat can rub the aid and makes a scratching noise as well. Other than that, I really like these guys.

I've had mine a little less than a week, I do agree with your review. But I notice I still have problems hearing words in a group setting or if someone is behind me and trying to talk to me.

Thanks for watching and thank you for the comment! I would strongly suggest that you take those issues and share them with your audiologist or hearing specialist. This is something that can be fine-tuned and adjusted by the audiologist! Getting your hearing aids to their peak performance is journey and will probably require a few visits, but the journey is well worth it!
