I didn't know until I was a young teen that I was opposite eye dominant with major dyslexia (I knew that last part). Primary right hand with blinking left eye doesn't make shooting a rifle well on the right. I learned then to shoot left and accomplished many things ambidexterously. That was one of my primary study points as I began as an Audiologist along with a complete fascination in military history starting with WWIII and broadening from there. But, when you shoot lefty like I do, the barrel of the muzzle is exposing more of the right ear. Studies bear this out along with my 34 years in the field of Audiology. It doesn't mean you won't have some level of damage on the left but the opposite ear will contain most of the overall damage. Those on ships shooting their 50 cal are shooting in a balanced position where they will notice a balanced hearing loss due to noise.

Then he prescribed be antihistamine, so I will see how it works. Thanks for your video it has been very enlightening. 🌷💖
Very good and explanatory video, a couple of years ago I suffered from otitis, but thank God I was cured, I would have liked to see this video at that time.
This was helpful. My 7yr old son has been suffering from chronic ear infections since he was a baby. This winter he was sick and he felt the worst pain in his ears. I am scheduling an appointment with an ENT.
Very good video and explanatory friend, as a child I suffered many times from otitis, now as an adult I no longer have ear problems, I would have liked to see this video at that time.
At 2:24 your the first person I've seen explain this! My canal is painful and inflamed after some sort of water liquid dripped out. So I used a bic biro pen lid to try and scoop and pop the potential spot. I think it was a burst spot in the canal I've no idea but I get it regularly every few months in this right canal. Now it's inflamed and painful. Weired. Outer ear issue maybe . I won't be trying to pop spots in my ear canal again.
Ufff, this type of video always leaves me shaking since it makes me realize how vulnerable the human body can be, also, I know a good number of people who have Otitis, and that there are videos like this so that others are informed, always help, thanks for making the video Doctor, anxious waiting for the second part...
Hi this video is so informative. My wife has constant ear infections. Even a visit to a uk ent consultant did not offer a fraction of your information that I can now see is her ear problem. Thank you so much and I shall be writing to my GP requesting a further Consultation visit. Ambrose
Dr. Scot your documentary is great. I had my Tampanoplasty surgery in 1988 in Toronto, still grafted well 36 years now, last 6 years got left Sinus infection due to Alergy or mold causing sticky mucous build up in middle ear now a days. The mucous fill the Etchurian canal while sleeping flat. Cause blocked left sinus & intake of air. When clean with warm salt water with Soda bicarbonate or few drops of apple Cider vinegar, clear the passage of inhalation including Etchurian tube then sleep. Standing sitting stay normal, also I found vacuuming or sucking feeling in throat during sleep. 😳😳
I love your videos. I always learn something new. This time, about Middle Ear Infection Symptoms & Otitis Media Causes. Very good information, Your way of explaining, is excellent, very natural and honest Thank you, thank you very much.
i have this and terrified i will lose my hearing i feel so isolated from everything and everyone everything i hear is going in one ear so i can't decipher words from noises traffic crowds etc i'm on strong antibiotics now into my 7th week ; ( i hope my hearing comes back : / thanks for this clear and precice video
If your ear drum is "busted" it needs to be repaired. If you have an infection in there, it can be taken care of by a Tube if it stays. Ask for an ENT to check over that ear. Once it's healed, you will notice an IMMEDIATE hearing change pretty danged close to normal, unless there's something else. Go call for one in your area.
It’s a small hole from the infection I’m on strong antibiotics now but it’s still leaking into my canal so blocking the ear drum I Another 4 days of antibiotics then see what happens Thanks for your reply much appreciated I’m in the UK 👍
Unfortunately not I had nerve damage from the infection I now have a hearing aid I was diagnosed with mild hearing loss Absolutely gutted Had I been treated with the correct Antibiotics I would have been cured but it went in for months with 3 different types of antibiotics
Thank you for this video! It is very well presented. Easy to follow, the animations helps a lot and I like the flow too. Plus it’s nice to have health information coming from an actual professional and in a form that doesn’t include disturbing material (like actual photos / videos of infected areas). 🙏🏻👌🏻
Week before Thanksgiving had bad earache in right ear all way to jawline. Went to walk in clinic next day (Sunday) and PA prescribed Zpac (I'm allergic to lot of antibiotics) and Ciproflauxin ear drops. Sunday night had severe earache to jawline. Monday i could barely hear in either ear. Monday called 3 ENT's for appnt and all want referral. Tuesday went to PCP and said he'd refer me to an ENT. Thursday i went to a chiropractor who did treatment for Eustacean Tube Dysfunction. This coming Monday have appnt with audiologist. Haven't heard from PCP regarding ENT appnt. Still can't hear good in either ear.
@HearingSolutionCtr Thank you so much for replying! I have one scheduled this next Monday. I've tried everything. My son had same problem several years ago with one of his ears for 6 weeks. His Eustacean Tube collapsed and lost his hearing.
I do that maneuver all the time and the only ear drum that responses is my right one . Lefts is permanently sunk in and today dr said it’s infected. Always been collapsed and hurt bad for a year while drs lied and said it was just fine!
You really need a good ENT evaluation to find out WHY that ear has been so messed up. I am sorry about their lies. But keep searching about the answers. I will tell you that many infections can be related to allergic reactions. I kept getting upper respiratory infections until I realized that Sugar was messing me up. I need to be off that.
@@HearingSolutionCtr I am going to stop eating sugar I guess! Just have to figure out how?! Isnt sugar in almost everything? Or either carbs that turn to sugar. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m miserable though. I’ve had Graves’ disease undiagnosed for years until about 2.5 yrs ago. Heart problems because of it and now this ear junk that’s making me so sick. I’m dizzy and I vomit when it gets really bad. I have to figure out why I feel terrible all the time. Maybe it’s the sugar! I’ll try anything at this point. Thank you so much for the video! Going to sub to see if you have anymore.
I had sudden onset of what I believe was fluid building up due to my eustachian tubes not draining for whatever reason. Over the course of 5 hours the pressure built up so immensely I thought my head was going to explode. Both ears had a sharp pain that was so unbearable I was holding the sides of my head screaming. I tried all kinds of things to get my ears to "pop" but nothing would work not even that thing where you plug your nose and blow. But after hours of enduring it and not able to stand up (I was dizzy and nauseous as well as in too much pain to do anything but writhe on the floor and rock and cry) suddenly my ears popped and blood and yellow fluid poured out both ears. The pain ans pressure was gone. I went to the ER. They said my eardrums were ruptured. They gave me antibiotic and said I'd be fine. It's 5 days later and I'm gradually getting MORE deaf and also pressure keeps building up again. I don't think this originated with an ear infection. I think I have a problem with my eustachian tubes. What should I do? Do I go to an ENT or wait it out (I was told it can take weeks for my eardrums to heal. But I was also told symptoms would get better over the next few days. I'm getting worse as far as my hearing and the reoccurring pressure building)
It's most likely a middle ear infection. This is dealt with by an ENT yes. I would not wait due to it creating that much pressure. Listen, ENTs have emergency situations that they will get you in. The do these things called PE Tubes. That will fix your problem. Totally worth it! Seen it thousands of times. Get it done and life will get better, as well as hearing will come back!
This video explanation about Middle Ear Infection Symptoms & Otitis Media Causes is quite informative and very genuine. I really appreciate this honest video information...!!!
This is really fantastic and interesting video on middle ear disorders . I learnt more things from you and well explained. Greatly helpful information and thanks.
I lost my hearing from ruptured ear from infection im so scared and sad both dr said it will be fine in a month but im still scared and asked them to send me to see an ENT to follow up
Kitty ruptured ear drums are painful but are NOT permanent injury. Many of them heal on their own even if they leave scar tissue on the ear drum. I had a set of twins who had the worst ear drums I had ever seen with scar tissue but still had normal hearing even though stupid physicians who had never tested their hearing told them they had MASSIVE hearing loss. What you see doesn't always harm you. Get your hearing tested first.
excellent, all the information you mentioned regarding this topic really helped me, it is interesting for me to learn about this and watching your video was a great support for my future project.
Good morning here, am kinda glad to hear a bit of information about ear ache , and wanted to know more about it since I am now experiencincing ear ache since yesterday & had heard a watery sound inside my each a couple of days ago before yesterday & now it' hurts behind my ear😅
It's incredibly common to hear some noises like that here and there. But if it goes on quite a bit more over the next week, I would go see the Physician and see if there's a reddness and then look at an Antibiotic.
good video, you explain in a clear way about Middle Ear Infection Symptoms & Otitis Media Causes , I was looking for this video and I finally found it, I recommend it, congratulations
Winner of a video, I have been researching "amitriptyline and pulsatile tinnitus" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Meniley Deyilliam Method - (search on google )? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering the real root cause of Tinnitus without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin after many years got excellent results with it.
I need help I had a ear infection like a year ago it was in both ears and I couldn't hear I was very sick and I didnt go to the doctor and I went back to normal in a couple weeks.i did have draining and I thought I was fine because I had relief. But now a couple months later I've been having sharp shooting pains in both ears and I'm worried that I might loose my hearing the pain just comes and goes I feel like everything is slightly muffled and when I burp they pop sometimes and when swallow they pop sometimes but It doesn't hurt when i do that i just notice a wooshing sound or something I cant explain it I'm worried
My ent doctor said that bacteria ate my eardrum that's why I have a hole in it, but her ear drops always for one week, she also gives me oral anti biotics, oral anti allergy and nasal spray, but unfortunately every 3months my ear infection always comes back, now I'm thinking maybe I should finish the whole bottle of the eardrops?
i seem to have something like you described with the sinus drainage going into the canal closing it off or PET. i'm trying to get info and treat it before going to an ENT. thanks for the info.
I don't exactly know what you heard about your condition but you seem to be referring to Sinus Drainage that goes into the Eutachian Tube (top of your mouth in the soft pallet) or called ET not PET. That can build fluid up in the middle ear space. Yes, the ENT is the person who can fix that.
Oh you have my sincerest best wishes, my son has that and it makes life really hard going at times, I bought some special ear plugs he just wers them when needs must. It's an awful affliction. Good luck iin finding a solution.
I've been suffering from constant ear infections for the last 8 years , antibiotics and drops dont seem to work inflamed ear, pain and ear drainage are my symptoms ! any suggestions please!?
If you have just seen your local physician, it's time to get an Ear Nose and Throat Physician. If that's an ENT, then the meds are completely wrong for you. I am going to tell you something weird but ask for Ivermectin to help.
I got hearing issues from 2 months. My condition is stable. But my daily routine is affected this way. I have tried lymph massage for ears but it gives little relief not much. I want my hearing back and my symptoms are whenever i move jaw i feel fluid behind my eardrum. I am scared to use general doctor prescribed medicine as canadian healthcare is worse. Can you help me as i am on nasal sprays and will take medicine from india currently.
I am deaf in one ear and Eustachian tube dysfunction in the other. Very hard living with this. What can I do as it’s literally driving me insane and impacting my life tremendously and doctors don’t help at all!! Very tiring condition especially with other ear already being deaf
Hello Doctor. I'm confused if i have middle ear infection or just ringing sound problem. 4 days ago i was trying to clear wax from ear, after cleaning i used my little finger just to make sure if some wax remained,it should come out, while using the finger i accidentally hurt my ear and the next day the pain started, a little bit of fluid came out too and also ringing sound started in ear...i visited a homeopathic clinic near my house and he gave me tablets and ear drop. After taking the tablets my pain has started reducing bt the ringing sound is still there. it has been 4 days since I'm taking the medicines...i haven't used the eardrop btw which he gave me, because I'm worried if it makes situation compilcated. the hearing ability of this particular ear has also reduced because of the ringing sound
If you have a middle ear disorder, you need an ear physician or an Audiologist to look at your ear. You are guessing right now what your problem is. Don't guess...get it checked out to know what the real problem is before trying more and more things.
I'm in so much pain with my ear it even hurts to chew, had perforation 2 months ago an now it's back although doc said ear canal is that swole it's hard to see all ear drum. I'm 2 days into antibiotics an pain relief isn't lasting that long
It may take up to a week…if after the end of your ten day dose, go back for another one. But you need to get the canal healed before they can repair the hole in the ear drum.
Oral Antibiotics are for an outer ear infection (meaning the outer ear and the ear canal). You may have a middle ear infection (past the ear drum and the middle ear bones).
Hi Doctor.. i had a month of cold and blocked nose followed by extreme rt ear blockage which eventually led to yellow discharge.. my ent told me it’s perforation off the eardrum due to serous otitis media and has put me on five days course of antibiotics : CEFPODOXIME+CLAVULANIC ACID And other meds : Anti histamine, Decongestant and Acetomaphines My drainage has stopped but my ear is super clogged, feels like it’s in water with tinnitus and also pains a bit My next appointment with her is tomorrow i just want to know what questions should i ask her to ensure that i have all my bases covered! am super scared currently with supreme discomfort and mental agony of not knowing when this will heal
You want to get the cold symptoms under control so that your Eustation Tubes aren't plugged. That's good...but the ENT hopefully is thinking of repairing the ear drum which is probably part of the pain. That's all I would say.
For now i have been told that it’ll auto heal once the infection is over. I don’t have any cold now but given i have a deviated septum and sinusitis the nasal passage isn’t the cleanest. Are there any specific questions i should ask her tomorrow?
Have you dealt with the Otitis? If it's not solved with the physician (you might not have pain), then you will have ringing sounds. Once it's solved, your ringing sounds should go away.
@@sahidsd6858 That's why you go back. Because you got Antibiotics once, doesn't mean that they worked. You might need another round, or you need a PE Tube. Ask the physician for a referral to an Ear Specialist.

Once I started massaging them too much according to the instructions on the Internet and I almost lost my balance and I haven't done it since then. I never had dizziness or dizziness before my eyes, just a feeling of instability. I have no problem with hearing. Only at the beginning, when Covid attacked me, I also had muscle fasciculations, internal tremors, brain fog and sinus pain. Can internal tremors be caused by sinus and ear infections? e.g. by irritating the vagus nerve in some way? Can ivermectin help with long Covid?
Hey Jasmine....Ear infections can come from water (mostly happens from ponds/lakes that have chemicals) but can come from showers. 1. Make sure the soap or shampoo that could get in your ear is changed to something else. What sometimes people think is an ear infection sometimes is an allergic reaction. Just a thought here. 2. Some people never do the same cleaning of the ear in the shower. I am super careful with alcohol wipes around my ear and behind it. Lots of Audiology practices have purchased something called the "Earigator". It's distilled water with hydrogen peroxide heated up so it doesn't make you dizzy. We flush out the contaminates in the ear (and the wax) that can make a difference in people.
@@sarmadhabibkhan3036 That means that your ear drum is perforated, unless there is an outer wall infection. Most likely that needs to be cleared up by an Ear Nose and Throat physician.

I need you as my ENT I seen two different ones near me and they both ignored me on what my symptoms was one said you got migraines ( never had a issue with it them in my life ) the other said everything is good faq forward a few months my eardrums busted and the ear infection is raging
If the ear drum has a small hole, it normally repairs itself (like a skin layer) in a couple weeks. If it is bigger, then an ear surgeon needs to see it and patch it. I am sorry...praying for you right now.

Have fluid behind my eardrum for almost 4 months. Constant plugged and ringing feeling making me crazy. ENT says use nasal spray and decongestants to no avail. Wants me to go back in 2 months.! Any advice? I’m losing my mind.
Normally when it doesn't work, they do something called a myrongotomy. They slice into the eardrum and suck out the fluid and put a PE tube (called doing Tubes) for you ears. You need to push the appt to quicker than two months. Most of your symptoms will drop away. If they don't after that, you need another eval of your ears.
Hi doctor, had an acute otitis media infection 3-1/2 weeks ago from an upper respiratory virus. I Immediately was prescribed a Z-Pak at a urgent care. Followed up with my regular doctor. She gave me Cipro which I realized wasn’t the right medicine. stopped taking it after two days went back to another doctor the next day and got Cefdnir. Still had a fullness with ear popping, So I went to an ENT. He did a myringotomy ( which made my hearing instantly worse!) and he said did not really produce any fluid, but it did seem to relieve the pressure , so he did not put a tube in. I’m waiting to get in audiology test, but in the meantime, I’m not hearing very well out of the ear. It still has a crackling sound especially in the morning when I open my mouth or swallow. Do you think there could be any stuck fluid behind the eardrum that might be causing this issue or swelling ? I’m afraid of permanent hearing loss -thank you.

DR. Scott my ear have me block for a couple of days, should i go to the doctor or wait I can’t live like this, I did all the yawning technique and other techniques Its not work I can only hear out my right here what should I do? Cause Im scared
If your ear feels blocked, that's something I do EVERY day including one guy today. It may be wax or an ear infection or just plugged up with some sinus drainage, call your local Audiologist and get your ears looked at and she can find a physician if needed to get you in OR she may be able to clean your ears out right there???
1 yr ago someone slapped in my left ear n eardrum perforated, after 2 month eardrum healed automatically, ent doctor checked it. But tinnitus continue for 10 month. Plz reply possible reason n sollution. I dont have hearing loss
It's called Acoustic Trauma. Sometimes people get this from the slap that creates negative pressure in the ear canal then it pops the eardrum. The tinnitus is because of the damage to your hearing. I would bet you do have some level of hearing loss. You need an Audiologist to do another hearing evaluation then look at your tinnitus again.
@@sourabhverma9496 So you do have a hearing loss...not making fun of you here but showing that the Physician didn't tell you. A Conductive hearing loss (if it still exists after your surgery...that's a big if here) tells me that there might still be a problem with the bones in your ear. You need to go back to talk to them some more. There may still be something they can do!
If you have a middle ear disorder I mention in this video such as Otitis Media (middle ear infection) it is NOT permanent but it can feel that way. One thing that I have found is that people who have constant infections sometimes need an ENT surgeon to get in and clean out the middle ear space with steroids and topical antibiotics then reattach the eardrum and make sure that your oral antibiotic treatment is taken fully. Sometimes, we are allergic (badly) to what we are eating. Cancer patients are told to get off of sugars (LOVE them but my body hates them). You may want to consider diet changes to effect change in your ear.
@@DrScottYoung the doctors give me antibotics for a week.i eat for 7 days some days its fine and some days it comes back when i get an infection it effect up my outer and inner ear as well .Steroids does not work on me .Doctor said me put vasilline or olive oil and its also does not work I am suffering from one year and its painfull can i ask doctor for my food allergy test.
@@cookinglearnandteachchanne4830 Sometimes allergy tests aren't terribly effective. I found out how much Sugar was messing up my body in many ways. Getting off sugars and carbs makes a big difference. That's one thing I would do is change your diet. If that doesn't make a difference then I would look into allergy testing. But it sounds like an Outer Ear infection that messes with the ear canal that goes into the Middle Ear called Otitis. I would indicate an Ear Nose and Throat physician next.

That's a good mechanism.

It’s a small hole from the infection

Hello how are you doing
Hello how are you doing
Awesome explanations and precautions when handling the ear. Thanks for this information.
PCP is not th answer and neither is a Chiro. You have to have an Audio tell you where the problem is and they can push to get an ENT appt.
I definitely have to get my ear checked out

I lost my hearing from ruptured ear from infection im so scared and sad both dr said it will be fine in a month but im still scared and asked them to send me to see an ENT to follow up
Kitty ruptured ear drums are painful but are NOT permanent injury. Many of them heal on their own even if they leave scar tissue on the ear drum. I had a set of twins who had the worst ear drums I had ever seen with scar tissue but still had normal hearing even though stupid physicians who had never tested their hearing told them they had MASSIVE hearing loss. What you see doesn't always harm you. Get your hearing tested first.

i seem to have something like you described with the sinus drainage going into the canal closing it off or PET. i'm trying to get info and treat it before going to an ENT. thanks for the info.

And other meds : Anti histamine, Decongestant and Acetomaphines

My next appointment with her is tomorrow i just want to know what questions should i ask her to ensure that i have all my bases covered! am super scared currently with supreme discomfort and mental agony of not knowing when this will heal

Im 25 years old i got a ear infection for water get in my ear from the shower 😞 why is this happening to me😢
Hey Jasmine....Ear infections can come from water (mostly happens from ponds/lakes that have chemicals) but can come from showers.
