I like how over the past couple of years Mark's impression of Mr. Dyer has gone from an OTT cockney accent to an eardrum-puncturing animalistic yelp with no discernable consonants
I highly suggest you rent The Football Factory for two reasons: 1) The opening line where he's fighting in slow motion followed by the line " 'avin it facking laaarge" 2) The end of the film where he asks "Was it all wurf it? Co'ss it facking was" Possibly the most unintentionally hilarious film I ever saw..
It's weird but the most insufferable thing for me in that clip from the film is the hideous colour scheme of the set and costume combined with the awful bright lighting
"Three years from now, you'll go through a cosmic storm and end up in a parallel universe. You'll materialise on an exact replica of Earth in the year 2013. You'll want to go to the cinema. Whatever you do, don't go and see Run For Your Wife.'
On the poster they should remove "BEST OF BRITISH" and swamp it with review quotes : "DAYDAAAAA!" -Mark Kermode. "FOR THE FIRST TIME, I NEVER FOUND DANNY DYER FUNNY" -Mark Kermode. "I ACTUALLY FELT RELIEVED WHEN CHRISTOPHER BIGGINS CAME ON" -Mark Kermode. "FEELS THE NECESSITY TO DENIGRATE ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY TO THE LOWEST KIND OF GROSS STEREOTYPE" -Mark Kermode. "UNBELIEVABLY OUTMODED 'ARE WE STILL ALLOWED TO DO THAT?' GAGS" -Mark Kermode. "IT DID MAKE ME WANT TO DROP MY TROUSERS" -Simon Mayo.
LOL please make an EastEnders scene where kermode kicks dyer's ass screams Danny dyer slam's a bin canister on him then runs off screaming DANNY DYYYYER LOL
As much as I agree with Mark about Danny can't we take a moment to reflect on how truly appalling demise van outen is , she is utterly bereft of any talent .
Denise van Outen is an appalling actress. She gurns like mad and her delivery of lines is so wooden how did she ever get the part!! The Girls Aloud girl is actually not a bad actress...the zombie girls Danny Dyer film is excellent, I loved it.
There's something about bad comedy that makes it worse than any other kind of bad movie, and there's something about bad British comedy that makes it worse than vivisection.
Hard to make the central premise of bigamy, FUNNY, but it can be done, if you have a lead character actor that can make himself a vulnerable, loveable rogue. Dyer is none of the above.
I watched it earlier and thought it would be so bad it was good. Its unbelievable that its a real thing. I dont believe anyone can watch the whole thing. Stream this illegally and rent this is the end.
I`d really like to know what Mark thinks about "Severance".Surely that`s a Danny Dyeeer film with some good points (to be honest I actually really enjoyed it!)
...I remember years ago at a theatre, they were promoting a new touring version of this play and selling copies of this film for £5.99....never heard about the new touring version since!
If 1800 people had been there, it would have made more than £602. Therefore you're wrong. Unless cinema tickets are £3 each in London. And literally no other cinema had anyone come and see it.
I will disagree with one thing, not everyone can play a hardman. Not well at least. There's a reason Lock Stock has an ex-footballer and bareknuckle boxer in the cast!
This is NOT how British comedy should be done. This is an attempt at the traditional American childish comedy done by a British crew, and it does not work. They add in a few "Bloody hell"s and somehow it's British. If you want some great British comedy go and watch some episodes of Spaced with Pegg and Frost and then some of their movies. They are great! But watching this video was 10x more worth it for Mark Kermode's Dyer impression!!!
Because he can't act, and his fake hardman persona is not at all convincing in the slightest. Actors like Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones can act a hardman role.
I enjoyed Danny Dyer in The Business, Severance and Human Traffic although he does play exactly the same character of a cockney geezer in every movie. This movie however, looks brain-meltingly terrible.
I'm afraid that as bad as this is, we can't blame the Americans for this one. It's a British film based on a British play (farce) written by a British writer and was first performed on stage in 1983.
The real reason behind the 'limited' cinema run: YT search 'Reason for limited screenings Ray Cooney' a master of classic UK farce comedy explains, seems fair enough.
DANNY DYYYYYYERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Still a fantastic comment 10 years later 😂
I like how over the past couple of years Mark's impression of Mr. Dyer has gone from an OTT cockney accent to an eardrum-puncturing animalistic yelp with no discernable consonants
This film cost £900,000 to make. In the opening weekend is grossed £602. Not £602 thousand, just £602. LOL.
That clip looked like it was filmed in ikea. Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who looked better than this.
70s Soviet cinema looked better than this
I love that another Danny Dyer film, Pimp, opened with a box office of £205!
@@IanJTaylor 🤣😂 that's amazing! Basically, about 15 people went to see it, opening weekend.
@@thebagelsproductions And they were all movie critics that had no choice
My 1 year old nephew started crying when Mark did his Danny Dyer impression.
😂
Well, he's 12 now - you can make him cry again by forcing him to watch this film ;)
Mark’s rants helping my family & me cope with lock-down. Cheers Mark 👍🏼

01:45 Danny Dyer standing on a rake, Neil Morrisey sitting on a cake. You've got to have a system.
Had to check the trailer, and it's true.
Denise Van Outen eating hake,
Lionel Blair on the take
I’m a friend of Harold PintAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@Withnail hes also related to royalty, doesn't change the fact hes Danny Doiyyyah though
It's weird but the most insufferable thing for me in that clip from the film is the hideous colour scheme of the set and costume combined with the awful bright lighting
Yeah its so glossey and garish. It looks like an ikea advert. Or like a tv shoe for toddlers
High key lighting, probably because it's cheaper.
"Three years from now, you'll go through a cosmic storm and end up in a parallel universe. You'll materialise on an exact replica of Earth in the year 2013. You'll want to go to the cinema. Whatever you do, don't go and see Run For Your Wife.'
I don't think this got released in the US. Which judging by this review, is fine.
What a strange non sequitur. Run For Your Wife is about as far from being a 'Gangsta' film as it's possible to get.
On the poster they should remove "BEST OF BRITISH" and swamp it with review quotes :
"DAYDAAAAA!" -Mark Kermode.
Honestly; the funniest line in this might be Simon saying “it DID make me want to drop my trousers” 😀
"They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian... They aren't laughing now!"
Classic. Monkhouse
Lol in 2019 this review is still hilarious
Tardis crew Kermode’s back catalogue of rants is basically therapy for me.
Simon Mayo is a saint
How did Danny Dyer get to be in so many films?
@@peterd788 He has dirt on everyone
For Nerds 😂
DANNY DOIYAAA impression 2:17
Jesus, that looks painfully bad.
LOL please make an EastEnders scene where kermode kicks dyer's ass screams Danny dyer slam's a bin canister on him then runs off screaming DANNY DYYYYER LOL
And now, a lesson in taking comments from a critic out of context and using it to advertise your film - "It is ASTONISHING" -Mark Kermode, Critic.
Danny Dyer and Neil Morrissey two giants of British acting.
DAAANY DIIIAAAAHH
This will become a cult classic. It's defo up there with Gone With The Wind and Confessions Of A Window Cleaner
"Graveyard of comedy" hahahahahahahahahahahahahha
This is why I love the good doctor
Mark Kermode needs to do stand up impressions. They are gold.
Danny Dyeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I think it would be fair if Mark Kermode got a chance to play a hard man on screen - so that Danny Dyer can get his revenge by laughing at him.
wished there was a danny dyer film every week so I could hear that danny dyer voice hahaha by kermode
The poster says it all... this film should have been called 'RAKE FOR YOUR CAKE'.
"...Harold Pintaarrrrrrr!" 2:26
That clip...oh my face eating Christ.
As much as I agree with Mark about Danny can't we take a moment to reflect on how truly appalling demise van outen is , she is utterly bereft of any talent .
Why is she famous?
Luvie1980 because she's pretty
Probably, but I've been referring to Dyer as DANNYDOYAAAAA for days now.
I doubt this film could be anywhere near as good as Mark's review and impression of Dyer
Denise van Outen is an appalling actress. She gurns like mad and her delivery of lines is so wooden how did she ever get the part!! The Girls Aloud girl is actually not a bad actress...the zombie girls Danny Dyer film is excellent, I loved it.
Why is she famous again? Because she dated Jay Kay?
6.26 'Dyer, DYER!' Always makes me laugh lol
😂😂😂😂
Came for the doctors DONNY DYOOR impression
Leave very satisfied
Love Mark's Danny Dyer impression
Would anyone else love to watch a film in which Mark played Danny Doyaaaaah?
This is the greatest review ever, including the greatest impression ever.
Spot on and hilarious.Mark, not the film....
Yes, he definitely saw the film. (Producer Simon)
"Even by Danny Dyer's unbelievably dismal standards, it is unwatchable."
There's something about bad comedy that makes it worse than any other kind of bad movie, and there's something about bad British comedy that makes it worse than vivisection.
This is up there with Sex & The City 2 and Pirates 3 for the last 30 seconds alone.
Personally I thought it was a power house of a performance by Dyer, to me reminiscent of Brando in ' On the Waterfront '
"Ae coulda bin a contendar, innit?"
Denise Van Outen is the new Yves Marie Saint
Danny Dyer might've seen this review as he recently mentioned Makr Kermode on his Twitter. Ooooooh.
Would love to be at the "function " where Dyer meets Kermode!
"Not a haard man, but a com'dy staaahh"!
Hard to make the central premise of bigamy, FUNNY, but it can be done, if you have a lead character actor that can make himself a vulnerable, loveable rogue. Dyer is none of the above.
And now he's in Eastenders playing a 'lovable Cockney rogue'. I assume.
I love "Cool It Carol"...
I was referring as to why you have something against Danny Dyer. Didn't mention the film at all fella.
I watched it earlier and thought it would be so bad it was good. Its unbelievable that its a real thing. I dont believe anyone can watch the whole thing. Stream this illegally and rent this is the end.
That DANNY DYEOORR was priceless
Love it when Danny Dyer does self-parody.
I've been waiting for this review all week. It didn't disappoint.
I`d really like to know what Mark thinks about "Severance".Surely that`s a Danny Dyeeer film with some good points (to be honest I actually really enjoyed it!)

Worth watching for Mark's Danny Dyer impression alone.
I'm from Canada so I don't know Danny Dyer's past, but he's supposed to be "hard"? He's a little dude.
The film is on RUclips movies in full FOR FREE but 'isn't available' .. gee i wonder why!!!
Last time I looked it was made in 2012.
If 1800 people had been there, it would have made more than £602. Therefore you're wrong. Unless cinema tickets are £3 each in London. And literally no other cinema had anyone come and see it.
@tedwards77, did you produce/fund/star-in Run For Your Wife?
This guy clearly has something against Danny Dyer. I reckon he secretly wants to be in gangsta films.
Magnificent. Sounds like Danny has surpassed even his abysmally low standard.
Saw Mr Dyer in the thumbnail and I had to watch this.
I will disagree with one thing, not everyone can play a hardman. Not well at least.
There's a reason Lock Stock has an ex-footballer and bareknuckle boxer in the cast!
The review is funnier than the film
How does Danny Dyer still get work?
Even though I find Danny Dyer as irritating as everybody else does, I can understand anybody being humourless about one of Mark's impressions
I love Cool It Carol. My question is if this film is classified a sex farce like the Confessions films why is it a 12?
LOL!... please, more of this...

This is right up there with the Sex & the City 2 review - love it!
Kermode does the best Danny Dyer accent.
My happy place. One of the real greats
"Genial British comedy, YAH!"
I enjoyed Danny Dyer in The Business, Severance and Human Traffic although he does play exactly the same character of a cockney geezer in every movie.
This movie however, looks brain-meltingly terrible.
Worth it for Mark's rant about the acting great Danny Dyer, lol.
Was that a Red Dwarf reference? For some reason I can see Dave Lister saying it.
this film looks dyer.
I'm afraid that as bad as this is, we can't blame the Americans for this one. It's a British film based on a British play (farce) written by a British writer and was first performed on stage in 1983.
Danny Dyer Reah
was this comment written by Danny Dyer?
Its a Dyer Comedy.

OOOHHHHHHRRRRR!!!
imagine owning up to having paid money to watch it, good for you...... hope you won your bet
A few octaves too high, but still very funny impression of Danny DYERRRRRRRR!
This movie has a very impressive cast!!!!!
So did he like it or not then?
1800? That's more than 3 times the seats in the London IMAX.
And the film took only £747 before being pulled from all cinemas
Try better.
Does a woman literally vanish halfway through that clip?
"Graveyard of a comedy."
nice deadpan you have there sir
You might want to update the copyright at the end of the clip... last time I looked it was actually 2013 now...
D’nny Duuuuuyaaaaaaarrrrrr!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
