My guess about the solo is that considering at the time it was played during the early grunge era and all, it was really common that guitarist just go off on stage improvising a solo which I think might be the case here. He just went down on a pentonic scale that he knew at the time like you just showed and it was pretty simple. For short I just think he improvised it on the spot.
Hi axeofcreation, could you do a video on preparing to join a (rock) band as a guitarist? What things should we be able to play, with regards to both the bare minimum requirements as well as optional things that are beneficial?
Lol. I think I enjoyed the commentary as much as the lesson. Hey, nothing wrong with a little pentatonic craziness once in awhile, right. Anyway, nice lesson as always. I like the pace you use to go through each song. You don’t over explain things. So, as always thanks, and keep up the great work.
Thank you so much AxeOfCreation... im planning on buying my first guitar really soon.. im a huge Tool and i cant wait to jam to my favorite tunes. its going to be a process, glad you're here showing us all how its done and sharing your knowledge. Cant wait to jam and spiral out 😬😁🤘🏼🖤🖤🖤
Great lesson, I am a Tool fan since the beggining, please could you do a lesson for 4 degrees?? Is other of my favorites. Keep Tooling man Awesome. Thank you!!
Bro you taught me every fucking tool song , thank you
Tool's best album, in my humble opinion. Raw and visceral. Cold and Ugly is brilliant in its ability to get me fired up.

SideShow aka a hour and a half lesson
@@thebatman1482 he's done Rosetta Stoned which is around the same length if you include lost keys
SideShow Yeah i know, just a silly joke :D

Hey Axe have you thought about playing the whole song through after breaking down the individual sections of the song? This could be really helpful
The first couple of Tool videos I did years ago contain playthroughs but they've all be flagged for copyright. Ain't nobody got time for that!
axeofcreation Ah that makes sense. Thanks for answering!

I have a feeling Adam hates that solo just as much as you haha
Haha
I don't like that solo either. I hate it, tbh.
But it was back on 92, from the first EP....
Adam evolved a lot since, as you agree :D
Pentatonic slip is accurate for that solo lol
Considering I've never heard anything remotely sounding like that solo ever after, Adam probably isn't a fan of it either
