    I’ve got a pair of tachi in my collection. Love them both! Though I do prefer the katana/wakizashi combo, tachi are still gorgeous swords in their own right.

    You speak true : The katana wins by its legendary simplicity. It's unique and absolutely beautiful. The tachi fascinates me by the extreme gracefully martial curve of its blade as well, and by its appearance a little older than the katana.
    The tachi systematically reminds me of the gesture of Benkei and Yoshitsune while the katana, for example, systematically reminds me of Bokuden, the genius of Kanto, even so well known the 47 Ronin of Ako ...

    I have been a proud member since I have found your Channel and I truly loved it it gives me so much enjoyment that I wanted to tell you thank you and I do sincerely wish I could meet you one day my absolute love for the Japanese Arts has never waned.. you have given me so much that you do not even know about in 2009 on the 11th day of March apologize let me backup just a second I am a graduate of the United States Naval Academy for11 years I was a naval special Warfare intelligence officer.. my team and I was going into a cave complex we had eight members of The Afghani Commando Special Operations unit we was about 400 yards inside the cave complex and I noticed a wire going across so I told everyone to freeze I walked over instead of tracking The Wire found it was connected to a Russian pomze a big anti-personnel grenade pulled my Gerber out cut the wire as I held my finger to the PIN I told the Afghan he's in pashtun to move on I was given the pomze to one of my guys I'm a Afghani step on a Russian poz pressure plate mine.. the blast absolutely disintegrated The Afghani his remains became projectiles that tore into my team.. took three fingers on my right hand off work both my right arm and my right wrist.. and to absolutely make the situation more worse the people inside the cave complex heard the explosions and it comes shooting at us so I was being dragged out using my left hand to shoot my H&K 416 CQB carbine I was medvecl out and I was sent on a medical 141 to Germany as I was trying to save my life

    Wow, that sure is a very beautiful tachi! This video has been very enlightening. I was wondering if you can make a video on how to properly tie the sageo onto the ashis so that the sageo can be looped around the waist. :)

      Hello. There are Judo techniques in Budo (since Budo is far older), but they are just a small part of our vast art. Budo is warrior art from Japan. Not at all designed for sports.

    Would it be better for a tachi to have a fuller or no fuller? (Bohi)

    • @thedojomartialarts
      @thedojomartialarts  2 года назад +2

      No fuller is my preference, making the blade beefier for armor.
