How are the salads In the restaurants normally washed and prepared? Heading to patong with my partner next week for 15 days and we will definitely check this place out. Thank as always for your efforts!
Hi, Matt, it's very hard to say regarding the salads I'm guessing you're asking about how they clean and prepare the vegetables ie the Water used. Here in Thailand a lot of people do not realize there are actually three different waters which can be used depending on what it's for. 1, Tap water which is not recommended for drinking and is mainly used for washing clothes dishes etc however both me and Nat clean our teeth using tap water and have never personally had a problem but again if you are not used to it may be best to stick to drinking water for this. 2, Cooking water, This is sold in large 25-litre white plastic bottles which is used mainly for cooking ie vegetables pasta etc some people used it as drinking water and while it is better than the tap water drinking it for long periods ie many years could lead to gallstones as this water has a high mineral concentrate. 3, Drinking water. Normally when we preparing salads at home we would use the cooking water to clean the vegetable however i can't say how Don's may prepare theirs.
I loved Dons last year! Two of my friends woke up the next day VERY sick! At that point one of them tells me he took guys there earlier in the year and they also woke up sick! Great selection of food though, probably worth the gamble.
